This place is 'legit'. Always packed with Chinese customers. Probably the most 'authentic' Chinese experience in Brisbane!
Meals can be hit and miss, but there are a few gems. The prices are good, the menu is huge and authentic, and the portions are generally huge!
It's important to order a Tsing Tao with your meal, they only come in the proper size!
I certainly recommend a visit if you want a true Chinese experience, but I warn that first impression may be unpredictable :)
Sadly, a new nightclub opened beneath the restaurant, and if you visit later at night, all you can hear is the thumping techno from the nightclub, which is NOT how I want to enjoy my meal.
If you don't like chopstix arcade, don't visit China!
It's great for big groups, it's byo (wine), food is nice and cheap. The duck and the pork ribs are great! Decor is a little strange and the service can be hit and miss. But highly recommend. This is always our go to place for big groups and a good night out.
This place has been around forever and has undergone several small transformations over the years. I feel it is a fair representation of a typical HK style diner - plus Karaoke bar. It seems to have a regular public bar for you to get drinks at (seems the only option is beer); although, in all the years I have been going there I never saw it in operation.
I always had a decent meal here - and prices were never exorbitant. I really like their salt n pepper calamari (don't get the bread crumb calamari rings!!), their jellyfish dishes and their pork stewed with taro.
Verdict: Great place for a casual meal. HK people will like this one.

Cyber City is my jam. Many a birthday or significant life achievement of my so called adult life has been celebrated here and I suspect this will continue for some years to come. Also great if you've had a few and you're really hankering for a Chinese fix and looking to drop some stupid dollars on various claw machines at 1am.
This place is what it is. It isn't fancy. The service leaves a lot to be desired and is about as consistent as the estimated arrival time on a Tiger Air flight. The food is pretty obviously packed with MSG but consistently pretty great (and not so coincidentally a bit craving-inducing). It's also BYO friendly, basically bottle-shop adjacent and they serve these amazing giant beers. It has claw machines, arcade games, pool tables and karaoke rooms. It's also never overly packed but has still managed to stay in business since 2002 (I assume?). Basically it's home. Plus I've actually won stuff on those claw machines, so if you're willing to drop half your paycheque on a bootleg hello kitty plushie holding an ice cream cone then this the place to chase that dream. A++ will dine again.
Cyber City serves up a large variety of Chinese dishes, we ordered the beef w Peking sauce and also BBQ Pork w Rice. The food was super tasty and the meat was nice and tender. Will be back for sure.
I came here with my friends to gobble down some Chinese food to protect our liver before our gay big night out at the Mega Beat. With an odd retro atmosphere and game containers, we had some decent Chinese dishes like deep fried beef with chilli sauce, fried rice, steam greens and deep fried calamaris. My friend said that this place always has the spaces for dining and chilling out before the party.

What can I say? Cyber city has consistently been one of my favorite places for awesome chinese/fusion food and cheap beer! Ive been coming here for years and never leave disappointed. Keep up the good work legends!
Coming in here is really not about the food, but is all about the memory. well of course since 2002...they never change a bit and is always a good place to catch up with a bunch of friends after a long night in the valley.
Cyber City is one of the successful Hong Kong Style Cafe in Brisbane. Strictly speaking, it's success is well over than those Hong Kong cafes running in Sunnybank area. It is not only running as a restaurant but also providing multi-entertainment facility such as Karaoke, Pin-ball machine and Pool tables games. No wonder it can be there over 13 years.
Cheap, BYO, nasty in a good way. As long as you know what you are getting into, 2002 Cyber City is a relatively consistent winner offering something a little different to the Brisbane food scene. Essentially it is a grunge-y Fortitude Valley adjacent asian eatery - with the twist of actually having some really decent food.
Figure out what is good, great with a large group (book first), BYO like crazy. Better karaoke elsewhere though.

Even I'm not sure if this is a review.. I have been here more times than i can remember (alcohol)! This place is the old friend i see once or twice a year and every time i do i have the best time. The night ends and i say "man we should do this again soon" and we don't. Then 6 months later we catch up and it's like we had seen each other every day and nothing had changed. Is the food good..... Yeah. Is the service good...... Yeah. Was the Tsingtao tallies better when it was served in the big chilled metal stein......... Sure yeah it was, but none of this matters. I have laughed here, cried here and had the best (not exactly but go with it) salt and pepper tofu of my life here.
But does any of this matter...... No. In 6 months or so I’ll be back here after that one beer too many, look across the table that's overflowing with food I’ve drunkenly thought "yeah i can eat all that!" And there will be my friends as excited and happy as i am and I’ll smile and know my little piece of this earth is pretty good right now.

Love it.. Insanely huge portions. Cheeeap! I have been here about 20 times over the last 7 years and enjoyed everything I've ever ordered.The special fried rice is aweome.
Do not eat here is you have an MSG sensitivity, they put loads of msg in every meal.
Good service, but don't be shy about getting the staffs attention.

Impressive food. Our friends took us here for Sunday night dinner and they said it was the best Chinese in the Valley. Well they were right! We had 5 dishes to share between the four of us. The crispy chicken was outstanding and many of the noodle dishes.
Its BYO so that was handy as I could take my favourite wine.
Service was prompt if you raised you hand and smiled at them other than that...they were pretty quick.
The interiors look like video arcade with snack bar. You eat in the snack bar area. Its open to 2am
and all walks of life come through.
The tables & chairs are something found in high school canteen.
So go with great friends, enjoy the food and bring your wine! You have a fun night.

Most pleasantly surprised!. We went to Cyber City 2002 the other Friday night with a group of 8 for the first time. As I stepped in a wave of that stale animal fat assaulted my nose. The décor was dated and looked like it belongs at the back of a crumbling old bowling alley kids party room. Lighting which belongs more in the Night-Owl next door than a dining establishment. We were dressed and ready for a night out and this place just looked sad.
But the food. Was brilliant! I mean Sunnybank Market Square comparable. Salt and pepper squid that was tender. Pork belly that was succulent and authentic. And sweet and sour pork (which I normally appal as it is not Asian food) that was moist and fresh.
Price is amazing. Service is spot on - friendly and efficient. BYO which is awesome. We were well fed and looked after, ready for drunken shenanigans.
Would return again.
Chinese. Food was ok. Extensive menu. The thing i like about this place is that it opens very late. Good to go to when you go clubbing.

LOVE THIS PLACE. CYBER CITY IS SOOOO GOOOD !! I love it! They sell the best fried chicken ever! Such a good place to eat & have pres with mates before heading out & if can handle more food heading back afterwards :) The best food here, I would live there if i could. Really good prices too & a fair amount of food :) Please stay open forever :P
Actually Really Good. I was here with a group for Chinese New Year, it was packed and really busy. The decor is basic and a little confusing, however the food was really, really good. We ordered a fantastic vegetarian spread and did not go hungry. There's not really any service, but you don't go here for that!
I've been coming this this place since its early days on Brunswick st in the mcwhiters centre and let me say things have go down hill a bit and plateaued out. The food is no doubt rich in flavor and MSG but at the price it's to be expected. Service is ok for a Restaurant who's main clients are youn people and valley locals. I still come at least once a week not cuz of its great taste but cuz of convenience. food is always quick and if you know what to get you can have a pretty good night here.
Perfect when you need good quick cheap chinese anytime! Shredded chicken fried rice is tops.

Please Please Please try the Green Beans with Spicy Pork Mince. Incredibly delicious. A large menu with lots of different choices, I've also enjoyed the Mapu Tofu and Quail - all pretty good for decent prices. Go and get stuck in
Night owl. It's not a bad place to go if you want a late dinner , pretty much the only option apart from hungry jacks and pancake house :)
Cheap good msg food. One of the only restaurants open in bris till like the early morning . Great for a meal which cheap Chinese beers before heading out. Try the pork belly with preserved veg clay pot
