I never dined in, but always came here to get takeaways. The service was okay, quite friendly and the food came out pretty quick.
My top two favourites are their Green Chicken Curry and Lemon Coriander Fried Chicken. The curry is mild, creamy, yet flavoursome. The fried chicken is not too crunchy, but juicy and slightly spicy. However, what makes it really great is the cheap price, as well as the huge portion size.
I will always come back to grab some easy midweek dinner!
Food portion was great and taste nice too.
This is the best thai/ asian restaurant in Brisbane. Can eat here all day everyday. It is our go to asian place. Prices are ausumn, every dish is amazing.
Delicious food, good prices, large servings. I am from Melbourne Victoria and always make time to come to ithai when I'm in QLD it's one of my favorite restaurants.
A MUST TRY!
The decor is abit outdated but does not take away from the AMAZING and delicious food. Food is very well priced and portions are above average.
Definitely a cheap eat, and a great place for a large group to eat.
Food came out fast and freshly cooked. Will definitely be visiting this place again
My partner and I had lunch at iThai on Monday and both enjoyed our selection of food. We order the chicken green curry, Roti with satay sauce, chilli basil drunken beef and some chicken satay skewers (as they were sold out of the squid). The meals came out rather quickly and all together, and were very tasty. The meat wasn’t the best quality but for the price of the meal, a great place to stop for lunch.
Generous portion and quite tasty. The place can be very crowded. This is the perfect place to feed an army without breaking the bank. The food is pretty fast too..
BIG portion. The food is cheap and big portion. I think two girl could full only 1 plate. The taste is not bad. Personally, rice is more delicious than noodle. And if you go lunch time, you can save a bit of money.
Despite the very mixed reviews here, we decided to visit iThai anyway and get a feel for the type of food being served. Having passed the restaurant hundreds of times before, we never stopped to visit as usually at dinner time the restaurant is full and the line is very long. We came for lunch on a Sunday at about 11:30am where we seated ourselves and by 12:00pm the seating areas were all full. The prices of the food were extremely cheap! We ordered 6 dishes (2 entrees) and the total came up to about $67 - with the use of our entertainment voucher it was only about $50!
The service at iThai is very basic. Many things are self-serve such as the water and even seating as there were only 2 staff on. The service is very minimal as they only took our orders (had to order at counter) and brought out the dishes. However, in saying this, the service was not bad per se, it is quite typical of many Asian restaurants to be quite minimal and hasty.
We ordered the salt and pepper calamari which was quite ordinary. The batter was very crispy and the calamari was not overcooked. This dish was very nice and delicious but ultimately, nothing special. We also ordered the deep fried tofu which was very delicious! The tofu was very soft and pillowy on the inside whilst being very crisp on the outside. Both of these entrees came with a dipping sauce of sweet chilli and some salad leaves on the side. The tofu's flavour was plain so the sweet chilli was nice to have on the side.
The green curry with chicken was a winner! My family agreed that this was one of the nicest green curries we have tried. The portion size was huge and had heaps of chicken, curry and celery. The flavour was bursting without being too spicy or overpowered by the coconut flavour. The chicken was plentiful and very tender. Would highly recommend ordering the green curry with a side of plain rice!
The crispy pork belly with asian greens was another winner! The crispy pork belly (or siu yuk) was so generous throughout the dish. There was plenty of the pork belly and the crackling was very crispy. The pork was not too fatty but had the perfect amount of it so that the meat wasn't too dry. The flavour of this dish was so delicious - there was plenty of garlic and sauces. However, the asian greens aspect of this dish was slightly disappointing. Choy sum was used however, most of the greens in the dish were the stalks of the choy sum. The stalks took up most of the dish and there were not many leaves. The stalks were not cooked thoroughly either as they were very hard and could not be chewed through, leaving most of the stalks left behind and inedible.
The pineapple fried rice was quite ordinary and is not something we would reorder. The flavour was nice but not something I could eat everyday. The portion size however, was very large! We ordered the fried rice with beef to which there was barely any beef in it. The dish was okay, but would try a different type of fried rice next time.
Most of the dishes came within 15 minutes however the sweet and sour fish fillet took very long to arrive. However, this dish was one of my favourites. The dish looks quite standard but was very delicious. The batter was extremely crispy and complemented the flaky fish fillet so well. The only downside to this dish would be that the fish pieces were drowned in the sweet and sour sauce. After about 10 minutes of this dish arriving, the fish pieces were no longer crispy as there was so much sauce that they became slightly soggy. I would definitely reorder this dish but would recommend eating it within the first 10 minutes or so otherwise the texture and appeal of this dish dramatically minimises.
Overall, if you are visiting iThai the expectations of service should be lowered. The prices are low and the portion sizes are large! As seen in these reviews, many dishes are hit and miss. I have highlighted some of the dishes we enjoyed above however, not all the dishes were perfect. We will definitely be returning though! Some of the dishes are a definite reorder whilst we may try out some other dishes for the first time. Don't let the reviews fool you - there are some winners on this menu! It may take a couple visits to get the perfect order but for the low prices and huge portions we definitely were not complaining. Will be revisiting soon!
Awesome foods. Tasty and price is cheap as well. Thai mixed rice is my favourite. Thai rice + chilli sauce is the best combination 😍😍 great staff. Fast food preparations 💕 highly recommended
Soooo good, awesome prices for big dishes!!!
I had this Thai honey chicken for $8.80 only,
And the second photo is butter garlic chicken for the same price! ($8.80)
This place is awesome, service could be a little bit slow at times due to too many costumers, but awesome prices for such great large amount of food!!! One of the BEST IN BRISBANE..

+3.5
Despite the fact that my order was mistakenly made (I ordered a pad thai and they gave me a papaya salad, which then they changed accordingly), they gave generous portions, but the taste could be better for Asian food.
The food is sooo good. Had the cashew chicken, honey chicken, pepper beef and pork with vegetables and large rice bowl to share between 4 people. The total price of $56.30 for 4 people is budget friendly so very happy. The waiting time what you can expect for rush hour so no complaints on that. Definitely coming back!
I have walked past iThai dozens of times since writing my last review (Rating 1.0/5.0) on this restaurant back in October 2016. I noticed 4 months ago that the menu changed and wondered if there had been a change of ownership or chefs. At 5.30pm today, Phuong Tran and I are surprised to see the restaurant brimming with diners. They must be doing something right to attract this crowd, so with fingers crossed we take the last available table.
Everything is now self-serve as I help myself to a menu and cold water. I notice the menu prices are really cheap! I wait in line to order and pay for our meal. Looking at the crowd I expect to wait up to 25 minutes for our dinner. With my iPhone's stopwatch on, our meals arrive after 6 minutes. Amazing!
The Thai Papaya Salad ($10) is nicely presented. Taking a mouthful I can tell it is not freshly made as the ingredients are not firm and crunchy. It is still tasty and quite acceptable at this price.
Rating: 3.5/5.0
The stir fried Chilli Basil Seafood ($15.80) is a huge serve of vegetables and is chock full of squid, basa fish, prawns and NZ mussels. Unfortunately, all the seafood is tasteless but the fried vegetables are nice. Again, the saving grace is the price.
Rating: 3.5/5.0
The Salt and Pepper Tofu ($7.80) is basically fried pieces of tofu. They arrived piping hot and are nice dipped in a sweet chilli sauce.
Rating: 4.0/5.0
The small bowl of Coconut Rice ($3) is overcooked and really soft resembling a lump of thickened oats. How can Asians not know how to cook rice? Fortunately, I don't rate staples like rice.
Our dinner is palatable but I am not sure we will return. Menu prices are very reasonable, servings are generous and service is fast. iThai would suit diners who want a cheap meal and are not too fussed about quality.
First time I saw the menu, I thought what could you expect from the 8.8-dollar rice menu,, today I tried it with my friends and surprisingly it was so worth to try. Big portion and tasty. Although we came when the restaurant was just opend, the food came fast. I tried the basil crispy pork noodle. The seasoning was a bit salty for me but it was ok since I ate it with noodle. The Minced pork was also good. We are satisfied with the food.
Scrumptious, affordable, quick, and filling. Fast prompt service and pleasant atmosphere. Nice decor and vast menu! Excellent sunnybank spot. Really enjoyable and good family spot. I will definitely return! Just fabulous.
Best Green Chicken Curry Awesome loved it highly recommended big portions my favorite restaurant
Cant beat it in my opinion terrific menu quick service.
The food is amazing and the price for it is so cheap compared to any other restaurant in Brisbane. I was surprised at how nice it tasted considering the average price of food is only $10. This is a place I could see myself at all the time
I enjoy coming to this Thai restaurant because of the variety of food on the menu. One thing which impresses me about iThai is that there isn't really too much formality to have dinner. Place is always busy and I wouldn't be afraid to call it a feature restaurant at Market Square.
I have been going here once a week with a good friend and trying different things from the extensive and extremely well priced menu. In the entree's the Lion Steak, chicken satay sticks and pork moo skewers are all delicious and all the mains tried so far have been great. We tried the Pad Thai for the first time tonight and after an initial mistake when they included egg when we had asked for it to be left out due to allergy, we found it to be flavorsome with lovely tofu, prawns, mussels and calamari. Other dishes tried have been the Satay Beef which is lovely but very mild, the Chilli Calamari which is super spicy but wonderful, the Garlic Pepper Beefsteak which is incredibly delicious and amazingly tender and others that I can't remember right now.
They are sometimes extremely busy but the staff are very nice and seem to stay remarkably calm with the hectic pace they maintain.
Ordered spring rolls and beef salad. Service was good and reasonably prices.
Food was tasty and portions generous. Very busy on a Sunday for dinner but food still only took about 10 minutes to arrive. Will return to try different dishes next time
Of the places along the Asian iThai is one I'd not tried. I had the spring rolls and Thai Green Curry.
The food was fresh and tasty. The green curry is a good size and I liked the chili (hot but not too hot) the spring rolls came out very fast, however they were a little cool in the middle.
Overall not bad. I'll try other dishes another time.
Ithai offers a wide range of Thai dishes, I prefer takeaways from here, reasonably priced and prompt service. I always find this place busy, one of the best Thai in sunnybank area.
Had take away from this place. Food was reasonably priced. Some faults was our seafood basil only had one prawn and packaged frozen squid pieces. Dry satay chicken sticks. I guessed you get what you pay for. I'll come back to try other things on the menu. It was probably an off day for them.
iThai is a nice place for Thai food. The menu is massive and in both sides so if you can't find something to eat, there is a concern. I was having a hard time deciding what to order before realising there was just as many meals on the back side of the menu. The food is really fresh and are huge, so good luck trying to finish the meals. The price is really inexpensive considering the size of the meals. It is a place that will be definitely going back to try the massive menu.
Lovely place to go in sunnybank and better quality than surrounding restaurants there. The menu was extensive which was much appreciated and the serving size was very generous! I ordered the satay sauce w vegetables and tofu, and the sauce was thick and peanuty which is great because as a Malay background I find most satay sauces not to be up to scratch. However next time I will ask for more tofu as there were only 4 pieces. My partner got the satay sticks which were also reportedly delicious!
The Spicy Fried Rice was the best Jerry, the best!!! (Love Seinfeld). @scooterwrecker Also the yellow chicken curry wasn't bad.
The restaurant is quite nice and portion size quite big. Ordered the massaman braised beef curry with rice - the curry was absolutely delicious but was let down by the beef which was chewy and definitely needed to be stewed more.
This is my favourite restaurant hands down. I have tried many meals from here n have loved every one of them (faves r duck red curry, green curry and spicy fried rice). Their curries r so creamy we believe magicians r in charge of these magical creations. Their meals are so flavoursome with little surprises, massive bowls and cheap price tags. If u decide to go to market square, this is the restaraunt to go to.
Value and Taste. I have eaten here many times vegetables are always fresh and crispy, I have tried working my way through the menu my faves would be duck and basil stir fry and the crispy pork I can honestly say this is my favourite Thai restaurant although others may say it is not truly authentic thai I personally believe the flavours are a lot closer to thai than a lot of other restaurants service for me has always been quick
It's not authentic was but nice. I really liked the crispy chicken with Thai sauce but didn't not enjoy a fish dish. It's tasted like really cheap fish
Delicious. I first visited IThai on the opening in 2010 and have kept going ever since. Aswell as being affordable the quality of these authentic Thai dishes is outstanding. I have always been made to feel welcome, the service is excellent. The Panang Curry is the best I have ever tasted.
This place is good! Super fast service, cheap meals that are large in quantity but still good in quality. They have a vast menu and there is something for everyone. It can get really busy at night and during the weekends, so don’t be shocked if there is a line up to wait for a table! Worth the wait
The food was great. Really really nice. I don't give it five stars because it took ages for them to bring my food. I had to ask what had happened after almost 30 minutes and they told me they would bring it quickly, which they did but I guess they had forgotten about my food.
That aside, outstanding flavour, and good sized portion for a great price.
Excellent food. Very delicious. Probably the best Thai restaurant I have ever eaten in.
Food Quantities are enough for hungry customers.
Thanks a lot for all the staff members there.
I love this place. I could go there every week. The food is absolutely delicious, really generous portions & the prices are amazingly cheap. The place is always busy which is a sign of how good the food is.
I absolutely LOVE this restaurant!! Yes, you do have to wait a long time for your food, but the taste, price and huge servings more than make up for the wait. My husband, kids and I have eaten here many times since we discovered this restaurant and everything has always been really really tasty and delicious. We don’t like eating Thai anywhere else since we started eating Thai at iThai. The potions are always huge. I usually order 5 dishes for the 5 of us and that lasts us for 2 meals each (2 dinners each for the 5 of us). On one occasion I ordered 6 take away dishes at Saturday lunch time and that lasted us all our main meals for the whole weekend. It works out really cheap: $11-$12 for a dish that you can get 2 meals out of, and they are really good wholesome meals. When we dine in we always have lots of leftovers.
When I order takeaway I usually have to wait around 45 minutes until it is ready, which is about the same when you dine in, so you need to factor this into how much time you have but it is worth the wait. They are busy because they are so good, they are very popular. It means that all the food is always really fresh. Yum!!
