Have been meaning to try this place for a long time, and finally got the chance to.
The coffee was excellent - really smooth and not bitter, with the perfect amount of caramel syrup, so not too overpowering.
Had the big breakfast, "The Full Monty", and everything was really tasty, and with extremely generous portions.
The only drawback was the bacon, which was really very rubbery, chewy and dried out - which can only be attributed to the fact, they were it extremely thick pieces, and slightly overcooked
Excellent coffee - ordered a mocha and the blend was smooth and perfectly balanced. The butterscotch and pecan muffin was yummy too! Perfect location and ample street parking and well priced. We will be back to try your brekky menu! Thank you Fuel Espresso!
Rocking brisbane city powered by fuel espresso, thankyou guys for the awesome coffee and chat, I will back to try the food. Keep up the fantastic service.
I start every morning with Fuel coffee . Number #1
That Colombian bean gets me every time
Love your work Pat !
Located in a quiet neighbourhood, the service at fuel espresso is exceptional!
Came by to grab a takeaway, I was surprised by the long queue of people waiting for their coffee. Once it was our turn, we were greeted warmly and upon ordering our coffee, our orders were made right in front of us! No fuss no mess at all, we got our coffees in less than 5 minutes. Had a warm farewell as well, the only setback is that this awesome place did not serve any brunch items, though there were sandwiches and muffins on sale.
Tldr: great and fast coffee, perfect for a quick fix if you are in a rush! Will definitely be back again to grab a cup!
The guys down at Fuel are so friendly. Always have Amazing coffee, amazing service. Try the White chocolate muffin as well YUMMMMMM! Love the long opening hours, it's great to know they're always open!
Located at the corner of Bower and Waterton Street, this local cafe is not hard to find. Walked in and saw the friendly barista was busy at making coffee for customers, who were all waiting for take-aways. Ordered the flat white and coconut & mango bread (first time to have the same kind), then took a seat at the alfresco area. When the coffee was dropped on my table, my visual and olfactory appraisal started working on it. The aroma from the Schibello bean with the high pouring technique delivered a nice cup of coffee with right strength and smoothness. What to suprise me was the bread, the mellowness of its texture and cruchiness from traces of coconut wove a wonderful feeling on my palate. I love this cafe and you should not miss it too!
Have been coming here for years and the coffee remains consistently good. Great coffee flavour, Bonsoy with no extra charge, friendly and efficient service and a nice new seating area for guests. Oh, and it remains one of the few places in Brisbane who know how much milk to put in a flat white.
Yeah, fuel's coffee is pretty good.. Although there are some better places around, it certainly is up there.
It's in a strange spot as well, which is the same to be said for many of the suburban coffee shops, but worth a visit if you're close by.
A great local spot to stop by for a coffee. The barista is always so friendly, even at ridiculous hours of the morning! My favourite place to stop by for a quick caffeine fix!
Diana. Schibello coffee, very well done by friendly owner/barista.. Not expertly poured, but great flavor, & strength, rich & smooth. Definitely be back
Best coffee in Brisbane. Fuel Espresso is a great meeting place and has a friendly, inviting feel to it - in part because the owner, Patrik, is on a first name basis with many of his patrons.
Fuel Espresso has great coffee because the barrista takes great pride in making it taste great. The food is tasty and the service is quick and efficient.
First time today recommend.... First time today

Fuel Espresso - Annerely, Brisbane. As it should be, this place - found on a random intersection of the residential backstreets - is a quiet little nook. It is elusive with simply having its name on the wall to indicate that it is there. In fact, my dining buddy had to double back after catching it in the corner of his eye. The place has its own sort of indie vibe. To put how hip and different it is, there are artworks around the place and the indoors seating is couches. The entire coffee shop has the layout of a granny-flat.
There is no extra charge for extra shots, different milk or flavoured syrups with the coffee order; that is good for those who like their triple-shot, soy, caramel lattes. For me though, all that is needed is no cost for the extra shot in my usual cappuccino order - a large one at that. The largest size is called "bucket".
The coffee here is very good, it has a consistent strength and flavour along with being good value for money. It was made really quickly with the barista managing to juggle several orders at once while bringing them out promptly. The nearby residents have a good little secret place to come to, especially early in the morning when it is opening for some peace and quiet before the day begins. Along with my coffee, I got an apricot danish to eat. This had a moderate amount of apricot in the middle, and it tasted of real apricot as opposed to jam. The pastry part was soft and flaky.
Chalk this up as another coffee spot that is worth attempting to find, if not just for the coffee then for some usual aesthetics. It is really cheap, a quiet spot to drink and off-the-beaten track.
Great coffee. Fuel espresso is definitely a simple place, but what they do they do well. The coffee is well made by friendly barristers and there is never a shortage of customers. There is basic food in a fridge cabinet however it would be nice to see just a little bit more on offer and the cash-only operation does sometimes limit the convenience of Fuel.
Arrived super early to work, decided to check this place out. I sat out the front in this sweet spot that caught the morning rays. The barista was super friendly, chatting away to someone who was clearly a regular. I'm going to be early to work more often I think!
Do one thing, do it well, do it cheap. Fuel = Great coffee = $3.
Awesomely smooth coffee. Lovely bacon & egg muffin. Happy times. Thanks.
Great coffee in annerley with no minimum spend to use eftpos, which other coffee shops in the area have. There is a limited food offering, mainly packaged and ready to go sandwiches and pastries, which is handy if you're in a rush.
Been a patron of Fuel for years. Perfectly prepared coffee and respectable pricing. Recently they have begun preparing meals for breakfast and lunch-- simple nutritious fare in a great venue. A good spot for your morning pick-me-up.
Patrick welcomes you with a great big smile and warm greeting. Its worth going to just for the service. I've been there only twice but I would go everyday if I wasn't so busy.
I stand waiting not too long for my coffee and whilst I am he greets his regulars by names and doesn't have to ask what the want he has there order off pat.
Great Coffee! Great Service! Great Experience!
Fuel espresso makes that type of coffee that has a strong hit in your first sip that wakes you up then it mellows out at the end. We have never been disappointed about our morning coffee hit. They have a small kitchen operating as well. There are a few tables inside and out. People with dogs sit at the outside tables.
Been here a few times now, the place is very quiet, not much talk or food on offer. Customers and staff don't seem to smile much. That said the coffee is just how I like it - strong with a great crema and body. Coffee is reasonably priced.
Used to live right next door when this lovely coffee shop opened! Patrick is very friendly & hospitable. I always enjoyed wandering over in the mornings for my coffee & a chat. Food is great, coffee is great & service is even better!
