Cheap, Expensive, and Simply Horrible Tasteless food.
The matter here is very simple:
1) Their loaf of bread is about 70% more expensive than the Brisbane average. One may say "It's more expensive bcs it's better". No, it is not, it is actually worse quality.
2) WORST PIES EVER: the fillings do NOT TASTE LIKE ANYTHING!
3) They are even cheap persons: I bake pizza, and I prefer to use fresh yeast. So when I need some fresh I always go to good bakeries, and ask them about 6-10 grams. Naturally, I always buy some bread, and some pastries or pies. IN SIX YEARS, being that I ask for such a ridiculously low quantity of yeast, NO ONE, EVER, made me pay for the yeast itself. THESE GUYS CHARGED ME 40 cents FOR 4.3gr!!! Disgusting!!! N.B. A PACKAGE OF 30gr OF FRESH YEAST COSTS $1. They are Revolting.

I've been here a number if times, and genuinely feel its fairly average. Bakery products and selection never wow me. Some locals rate Davies much higher than me though so maybe my opinion is the exception.

Nice looking bakery with overpriced food about sums it up.
Chicken roll that didn’t fill me and a Powerade was the same price as a ultimate burger box that I normally don’t finish.
To your Reply: every bakery used fresh products but there rolls are roughly $3 cheaper with a lot more meat and salad on the bun.
Yous ain’t subway, the roll I bought wasn’t made freshly before my eyes so yous shouldn’t be charging franchise prices

In my hunt to find a worthy bakery, I can across this joint. Busy place, fresh products and high turnover. No time to have a chat with customers here due to it being busy.
Avoid the hot food. I don’t know how a pie recipe can go so wrong.
The lamingtons and pink finger buns are the best if you like super soft and fluffy - which I certainly do. I will be going back here to try some of their other sweet delights.

We visited on the weekend and had a delicious chicken and salad roll on tiger bread. The salad was SO fresh and the mayo was yummy. It was nice to get a salad roll that’s not overly wet. We’ll be back.

Great pepper steak pie, coffee good too. Make your visit extra special by driving up the hill a bit to the Toohey Forest picnic area & having a break amongst the gum trees.

Awesome coffee and service but it would be great if you could revise your keep cup policy. Would be happy to take the cup to the barista so they don't even have to touch it (even though they hand over every take away by hand touching the lid with no gloves on 🤷♂️). Surely there is a work around to be found thats stop 1000s of cups going to waste each year.

Davie's Bakery Located on Toohey Road in Tarragindi , Serve typical bakery goods. Coffees. Cakes and other goodies . I ordered an Almond Chai latte which is made with a liquid syrup base which tasted really cinnamony and way sweeter than necessary. The bottle did claim it was an all natural product, the extra sweetness may have come from the almond milk used . Cost $5.50.
On another visit ,
I ordered 2 salad rolls on seeded buns. One was pre made with roast chicken the other plain salad. Sandwhich bar and made rolls all unrefrigerated.
Inc the public holiday surcharge of 15% the 2 salad rolls cost me $18..... I queried the price and the lady behind the counter assured me that the price was correct and it was "Totally Worth it...and you'll be back".
The seeded rolls sell for 80cents each.
Lettuce, tomato, onion, Mayo, slice of cheese, grated carrot & alfalfa. One roll had a small amount of chicken on it. Cost maybe $0.80 to $1.20.
Definitely not worth the money being asked for.
I don't mind spending good dollars on food and drinks however I believe the prices need to be honest, justifiable and make sense.
If the rolls were made with stoneground organic wholewheat flour and with all organic produce filling them and housemade all organic mayonnaise or fund raising for charities Etc
then this should be advertised !!! These are all justified and great reasons to charge accordingly. If not then why so expensive ?
Yes the rolls were tasty and fresh but this is expected from any bakery offering salad rolls and sandwiches. Thanks very much.
This bakery is a secret local gem! A tiny little hole in the wall with the friendliest, lovely ladies always serving with a smile. My picks are the almond croissants (so decadent and delicious), the pies, lamingtons (so fresh and soft), cornflake cookies, and our fave, the multigrain bread - sooo yum.

Fantastic bakery. The prices are much higher though they are more a boutique type bakery for quality items. We mix it up a little between here and out local little bakery!

Davie's Bakery arguably sells the best soft bread rolls for burgers in Brisbane. There is nice height and volume to the rolls, whilst being soft and pillowy. After consuming a burger or lunch roll made on these beauties you don't feel bloated or overfull on bread. Truly a great asset to a wonderful range of baked goods.

After trying another restaurant experience on Gapap Street, we noticed Davie's Bakery and decided we would come back to give it a try. My partner mentioned that she used to go there years ago and it had always been really delicious. As we went there for just snacking purposes, we ordered a sausage roll and some cream donuts. The sausage roll was one of the better sausages rolls I have had in a while. It had great flavour and was not super flakey that some sausages rolls can get! But the cream donuts were the super stars! They were a great blend of pastry, rich cream and coated in lots of sugar. They are not for the health conscience! We were glad that we order two, as there was no way any sharing was going to happen! They were so nice we decided to go back the next day!

On our second visit under 24 hours, our sweet tooth kicked in and wanted those donuts again. However, to our horror, there was only one cream donut left! My partner just wanted it more, so I graciously ordered a cinnamon donut and a coffee. The coffee tasted great, it was nice and mellow. I was pleasantly surprised of the coffee, considering Davie's is a bakery and not a dedicated cafe! The cinnamon donut tasted great with the coffee and was exactly what we wanted to fill our sweet tooth!

The other pasties and pies looked delicious, and if the other meals are to go by, I am sure they will taste great. We will be going back to gorge on the cream donuts, and maybe the other pastries.

Was actually looking for a coffee shop in Gapap St, but found out it had closed so ended up here at this bakery. I think they said they serve Abrisco coffee so I didn't bother & cast my eyes to the almond croissants instead-absolutely delicious.

Excellent early morning coffee spot.

Davie's Bakery - Tarragindi, Brisbane. Second time lucky! Davie's is one of the local's favourites to go for bakery fare this side of the highway. It is in the shop junction near Toohey Forest and serves everything right to the pavement thus saving a lot on space. In many ways, it does what a usual morning coffee trip would be for some people making the process efficient - a bakery item and the cup of espresso to go saving on a lot of time. Luckily, it is very good.

My dining buddy snuck out one morning and I saw him coming down the stairs with a tray of familar looking take-away cups thus I knew he had breakfast set. He got me a triple shot cappuccino and a couple of quiches to share - one chicken and one bacon. Both of these quiches were quite good with distinct flavours and actual chunks of chicken were present. The pastry was really good and the quiches were quite filling.

He also got a half-dozen cinamon doughnuts which were also pretty good - despite they were not pipping hot (my preference for cinnamon doughnuts) - and were sprinkled liberally with both sugar and cinnamon. The dough part was soft and moreish.

As for the coffee, this is still pretty good but not quite in the leagues of some of the best this side (there are many competitors in defence). The flavour is still really good and they steam the milk fantastically.

Davies Bakery is certainly a place that has its clientele. There are so many choices for food on the go there and it is all baked fresh with a clean kitchen. Not absolutely my favourite place to go to, but it is good enough.
