Have visited a few times in the last few years. Probably won’t bother again. I was surprised to be charged $11 for a small carbonara pasta dish takeaway. In previous visits I believe I paid around $7 or $8. It was tasty but for the price and portion I feel I won’t be returning. In the past it’s been really great.

Most stinge portion of roast meat I've ever received from a carvery-type operation. paid $15 for "main with 1 side". Main was 1 single thin slice of lamb about the size of a drink coaster. To think buying "Protein Only" would have cost me $9.50... wont be going back in a hurry.

Metropole was my go to place for a quick lunch, until they increased their prices by 40-50% in the last 2 years. There is even a debit card surcharge now. Their food quality remained the same, decent, but not outstanding. If you order two half side salads, they charge for both saying that they are two full size sides. You tell me.

Not many great choices but for the Asian, at least they make dishes fresh. I got a Hokkein noodle with Beef. It was quite sweet which I didn't like and is not right for a Chinese dish. My friend got a Pad Thai which she liked. The dishes look the same. Like what one of the reviews wrote: same dish, different noodle. All same same.

Great Tapas. 4 for $25 on a balmy Friday night. Enough for two when accompanied by an ale or three. Had the salt & pepper calamari, steamed pork dumplings, arancini balls and beef satay. Absolutley fantastic combination of spices by the chef. Staff very friendly and great service. ✔✔✔

I used to stop by the Metropole for lunch and was never disappointed, food was always fresh and good value for money. Over the past two weeks I've had two unacceptable meals here - one Sushi meal where my sushi order was wrong, and a fish and vegetable meal which was so overcooked that I was concerned that it wasn't food safe. The space and location are great, I really hope that the food here improves.

Used to be a really solid and reasonably priced option for lunch when I was working in the area. I recently starting working in the actual building, but I won't be going back.
In summary: I paid $14 dollars for a very average sized "large chips" - prices of other meals have also gone up since I first ate there a few years ago... I saw a Tzatziki wrap on their menu for $17... a wrap... $17...
There are other great lunch options in the area - but it's a shame my quick option has gone downhill like this.
P.s. They don't tell you about the credit card surcharge, which would quickly add up if you went there daily.

With so many eateries struggling from COVID-19 and lower patronage, options for a decent lunch in the city have drastically reduced. Metropole may have reduced their offerings but what they do have is decent food with friendly customer service and very good value for money.

I have tried many dishes at Metropole Eatery. They hay got a great variety of food and ranges from salads, burgers, mains like lamb shank and chicken and Japanese/Chinese menu as well. The ambience is quite good and food quality is also great. But I feel some people me find it a bit pricey as some
Of those dishes coat around $12-$15. But for quality that we get I think it’s worth it.

Do try out the food during lunch time.
Busy over lunch time during the week. Would recommend ordering off the chefs specials as these meals are cooked fresh to order. The eat in options are quite generous servings.
