Review Little Paradise - Brisbane

A go to place for work colleagues because it's nearby and offers a range of Korean and Japanese food. The quality is mediocre for what I have tried but the portions are well liked. Bibimbaps are served in a huge bowl which makes for happy customers but be aware that the takeaway version is much smaller. The Agedashi Tofu, Soft-shell Crab, and Seafood Udon are all 3 star but I hear the Sashimi is delicious.

Daily lunch specials available, today was the bimbimbap (choice of beef or chicken) for $9. Delicious and large portion, not served in stone bowl though. Friendly and quick service, comfortable seating. This is a regular spot of mine, will definitely be back and they have a loyalty card too

Glad we gave this place a chance. Definitely worth the $40 eat all you can fee. Will be back soon! 🥰

Our first time trying Japanese food. Wasn't too bad, although couldn't eat raw fish, but they took it away and cooked it for us. Unfortunately the place needs a good clean and a refurb, make it more appealing.

The food here is always great! Bento boxes are well constructed and sushi is always freshly made with fresh tasting ingredient. Great for small and large groups. They also have all you can eat sushi for $30.

Great food experience! We got the banquet for 2 @25pp..so worth the price! Staff was very friendly, place was clean and presentable. Situated across the road near the Brisbane River!

Just ok but very small portion.. also understaffed the girl working the register and serving was trying very hard but needed help. The tuna and salmon were good everything else in the 8 course meal was below average

Interesting food, well presented, reasonably priced. Good Korean / Japanese restaurant, friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed our lunch 👍 Would go back again.

Had a voucher dinner here before the lock down. It was a eight-course Japanese and Korean banquet. The dinner covered up entrees of salad, takoyaki, fried chicken wings, salmon sashimi and nigiri, Miao soup and a choice of main either beef rib rice or karaage rice (we choice one each to share).
Taste and quality are both acceptable. Just $49 to have a full on dinner for two, CP is definitely high👍

No sashimi in the fridge by the bar table ?!? Went for a lunch special on a rainy day, order just came out randomly, not table by table ?! So one friend is eating and the other is waiting happened for every single table. Haha

Always good! Beats every other sushi place I've tried in Brisbane. Good, attentive staff too! A bit on the expensive side but that's the way in Australia if you want sushi.

Excelente Bento boxes! I mostly get misu soup and one of the sushi rolls as lunch... Really tasty and fresh. Service is good. No complaints

I Love this place. the sashimi and chicken karage are the best. Very fresh and value for money - i wish they were in Sydney but i look forward to coming here when i'm in Brisbane. Consistently good food.

Closed early!. Went to Little Paradise at around 9.45pm on a Friday night but they had closed early however online they state that their closing time is 10.30pm. They either need to update their opening hours online or simply stick to the opening hours as advertised! Kinda annoying when you make your way out to get there just to see everything all packed up and lights off.

My favorite Japanese/Korean restaurant. Love the food, awsome fresh sushi and great roce dishes. Excellent value for money

Spicy Pork Yes Yes yes. I have tried Spicy Pork at pretty much every Korean restaurant in the CBD and Little Paradises take on it is exquisite. More Spicy Pork for All, simply delicious.

Always get their takaway orders WRONG. I used to live in the same building as this restaurant, and now live a few blocks away in Spring Hill. I used to get takeaways from these guys a few times per month. It was convenient and food was generally okay ... but around 50% of the time they get the order wrong!

Opening my takeaways was often a mystery surprise. Even though I usually tried ordering the same couple of dishes I must have sampled their entire menu. My prawn teryaki were somehow magically transformed into baby octopi or a chicken katsu curry. Its not necessarily that the food was bad ... but it just frequently wasn't what I ordered or what I actually felt like eating. When I lived in the same building I could at least return it, but that's less easy now that I live a few blocks further away.

Maybe its my fault for being a native-speaker of English (kiwi). The front office staff seem not to understand me. Yet even when I get the person taking the order to repeat it back to me (verifying that its correct) the cook STILL gives me something completely different. It's frustrating, disorganised and just poor service. It's a real shame, since when they do get the order right the food is actually pretty good.

Disappointed regular customer. Very unlikely I will return.

A great night. After experiencing this restaurant with some trepidation as a result of reading the reviews I have to say that this place has been most unfairly treated.
Sure we went on a night that was very quiet - and that might explain the difference but we had a thoroughly good time and were delighted with the service and the food.

It wasn''t as authentic as I would have liked but having spent time in Japan and Korea my views on the food served in most Aussie restaurants serving those foods is somewhat tainted.

I enjoyed the food, but the others in our party were absolutely delighted. The waitress was extremely helpful, patient and pleasant' The food was served in a timely manner, as were the drinks... and there was absolutely no sense of being second class customers because we were there on a Scoupon voucher.
In my view this restaurant comes highly recommended.

Really yummy food and a great price. I have been there a few times through coupon deals (not the all-you-can eat ones) and I love the food and think it's good value for money, even if you didn't have a coupon.
Having lived in Japan I know that not all Japanese food is exquisitely displayed and tastes like heaven in your mouth - if you go to an izakaya you get cheap and cheerful, and that's exactly what Little Paradise is.
And despite what some of the reviews say, I think the food is delicious!

I had read the previous reviews so was hesitant to use my scoupon voucher there. It was absolutely wonderful though and I will definitely be coming back!

Rubbish. OMG! One of the worst experiences ever. Used a coupon and you get treated like a third class customer. Never again!

This is the worst restaurant that I have tried in my life, I always think customer satisfaction is the most important criteria to evaluate a success of a restaurant and it's all proven by looking the number of bad reviews on this restaurant. I was there after purchased the Groupon voucher and it was unbelievable to be given a set of instructions and rules upon entry and only have limited choices to choose from, I wouldn't blame them as this was all written on the fineprints on the groupon however what really disappointed me was that when we ordered the noodles, bento rice and salads, they use dirty tactics such as serving a massive bowl of noodles, super big portion of salads and 3 cups or rice to deter you from ordering more as each time you only can order one meal and you need to finish it before ordering the next dish. The meals were too oily besides the gigantic portions, you felt so bloated even after one meal.

Friendly, but just horrible food. We bought the $39 groupon for this restaurant, and were looking forward to some nice Japanese food.

I think the instant Miso soup was about the only tasty thing we had. We ordered quite a few dishes, but were not happy with almost all of them - the tempura was really oily and had an unpleasant aftertaste and the renkon chips were like sponges of oil, waiting to unload in your mouth, and the sashimi on top of the salad tasted like it was defrosted.

All the staff and chefs are actually Korean, so we thought we'd order from the Korean menu rather than continue with the Japanese, thinking that they would serve much nicer food from their own culture and background. The Bibimbap though was luke warm (if not cold) and was not very appetising either.

We ended up leaving after about 35 minutes, not wanting to subject ourselves to more of the food for the full hour and a half.

For $39, this place is making good profit for the very limited menu you can order from. Personally, I felt a little unwell for the rest of the evening, and did not feel well at all the next day. Happy that I didn't actually throw up, but that is not something that you should be pleased with after going out for food.

BEWARE!

FULL and FULL OF SMILES. My partner and I had decided to try the Groupon - All you can eat voucher just for kicks and giggles.

Although there were T&C's to the voucher, they were of nil impact to the quality of service that we had received. Welcomed by warm smiles upon entering the premises, detailed explanations about the T&C's of the voucher while being seated, attentive service & prompt serving of dishes.

Within 80mins, 10 dishes were served without hesitation. 3 sets of entrees, 2 salad dishes, 3 noodle/bento boxes and 2 desserts. Served, cleared and remarkable continuation of service even after the last bite had ended.

Between the two of us, ordering $110+ worth in dishes and received more than we had ever bargained for in terms of value for dollars spent.

To all unhappy Groupon users, mind you, you did spend $40 for two to access an all you can eat service. The smiles and service were added bonuses.

Many thanks Little Paradise. Keep your heads held high and keep smiling! =]

Little 'Paradise'. I went to this restaurant a few weeks ago with a friend who had bought the 'all you can eat' groupon voucher. All I can say is, it was one hell of an experience.

When we first arrived, the waitress (who was polite) straight away informed us that if we were to leave any food, we would be charged. We were a little uneasy about this but continued to order. For starters we ordered a vegetable tempura and some gyozas. Well, the vegetable tempura was more like tempura mushrooms. It was just a huge stack of these stringy, disgusting mushrooms (which we obviously had to force down) along with 2 small cubes of sweet potato and a giant slice of eggplant. The gyozas were mushy and bland, they almost tasted microwaved.

For our mains we ordered a mackerel bento box and a salmon bimbimbap. My friend managed to eat his mackerel but it was obvious that it had been microwaved or had been sitting there for a while as it looked quite chewy. The salmon bimbimbap was a whole different story. When I have previously had bimbimbap it has been in a hot stone bowl, with rice, vegetables and an egg on top. What I received was a metal bowl (looked like a mixing bowl) with around 2 cups of rice, a load of vegetables, 4 pieces of salmon (2cm long) and an already cooked egg throughout the dish. To start off with the rice was cold, not even warm. The vegetables were just raw, had no taste and the salmon was most definitely off. It was mushy and had that strong seafood taste/smell that off seafood has. I was unable to eat another mouthful.

In all fairness, the chef came out and was quite polite when I had brought the issue up but by that stage we were already over it and decided to leave. When we did so, we went to pay for our drinks (which were not included in the deal) and they came to a total of $7.50. When my friend handed over his card, the waitress blatantly told us that it was a $10 minimum. When questioned, the waitress THEN proceeded to tell us that she could put through $10 instead of the $7.50 in order to use the card. So not only after receiving off food, they couldn't even have the decency to accommodate us.

We will never EVER be returning and along with the other bad reviews on here, it is a wise option for others not to either!

All you can wait. Time: 90mins
Dishes served for 2: 7
You generally wait for 15mins when you order, or on the shelf dishes for about 9mins, even when the restaurant is not busy, the waiting time was "consistant".
Don't use groupon purchased tickets because salad or rice will double or triple instantly as compare to the menu. Good luck, it's worth going back if you enjoy rice, salad and street view then anything else. Food is nice, waitress is happy with smile. Restaurant owners need to re-think themselves.

Awesome sashimi!. My first visit to Little Paradise was last week for a dinner when the restaurant was quite busy. The place was on the corner of adelaide st and queen st so it was easy to walk from anywhere in brisbane CBD.

The food was pretty quick even though the place was very packed and the girl who served me provided great service with smile.
There were so many options I could choose from. But if you are a real Japanese food lover, you should defs try their sashimi and sushi!!
The presentation was just stunning. The tuna sashimi was in a flower shape and sightly blowtorched with beautiful fresh taste. The chef knows how to make real japanese food. Im defs going back there again to try all other menus! :)

Extremely disappointed. Only one waitress and actually no services at all...
Those so called "Japanese food" is even worse than fast food shop...
It took almost half hour to have just an entree.
It's unacceptable.
I really can't believe how can this restaurant survive...

Disappointed... I bought a .... Disappointed...
I bought a groupon to try out the all you can eat deal... but it's actually not available on the full menu.. No sushi, no sashimi... only entree, rice and noodle.... And u can't order another dish until you have finished the first dish without any left... and it took so long to wait for the meal... cant have much to try within 1.5 hour...
The taste of the meal not good too... below average... never return... I thought they should do better when they have a promotion on.......

What service it can provide?. One waitress of the whole restaurant, you can never order if you sit at the back of the restaurant. You will see many customers bringing the menu and making order in the cashier. On top of that, waiting 20mins or above for any dishes, customers always go to the cashier and ask for their order. If you bought the "all you can eat" voucher from grounpon, good luck to you first, because you can eat within 90 minutes, you can not order more than one dish each time, also the cooking time of every dishes are terrible. I think the main reason for this restaurant can still alive because of the location, there is a 5 star hotel opposite the restaurant. I can not find any reason to visit again. It is a awful restaurant.

Awesome service!! Richard gave great information about sake options and the rose made of tuna and salmon blowtorched at the table was pretty cool. We'll be back for sure.

Amazing Food - Amazing Service. We dined here for a goodbye dinner for friends. What an amazing experience the food was value packed and so tasty. I've dined at many Japanese Restaurants and this is totally at the top. Don't be fooled by the small shop front, there is alot of love inside, we were greeted by a friendly chef that made all our food to order, so fresh. Great personality. As someone who works in hospitality this blew me away for service, value and food.

Well Done Little Paradise
we'll be definitely coming back !!

loved it!!

Diana. We tried this restaurant when it first opened some time last year. We found the food to be just pretty average, so as they are offering coupons again it may be still the same-worth another try though maybe?
