Review Viet Hoa Cafe Restaurant - Brisbane

The owner of this little gem was really nice. The dishes were great for their price and the quantity was enormous. The food was light in taste but very more-ish.

Excellent food at excellent prices, friendly service too.. I recommend this restaurant, you can't go wrong here. Especially recommend the rice paper rolls and beef brisket rice noodle soup.

The beef pho and combination wonton/noodle soups were delicious!! So tasty, and excellent service too. Highly recommended!

I thought we chose somewhere with yummy food which was well priced but then we were hit with with a $30 charge for a cheap bottle of wine. Totally disappointed.

A nice mix of both Chinese and Vietnamese food, with some good selections that aren't your stock-standard asian restaurant options. A special mention goes to their shredded porl rice paper rolls - HUGE and absolutely delicious. Loved it! $39 to feed 2 adults, with no room in the tummy to spare!

Located along Melbourne Street and opposite to West End Garden is the Viet Hoa, which was a renowned Vietnamese Chinese restaurant years ago in West End. I understand that there is not much change in the ways that foods are prepared in Chinese or Vietnamese cuisines. However, the ever never change menu will be the critical factor of leading the business to go downhill. If the owner does reflect on what has been happened in his neighborhood, he should realize how old-schooled are the ambient and food that his restaurant is offering.

Very ordinary. Food was bland and poorly presented. I ordered pho ga and Chinese greens with oyster sauce. I got broccoli and cauliflower??? Sent it back and finally got my order with a grumpy grunt from the waiter. Will not return.

Unfriendly, ordinary dish. The owner was unfriendly and the meat in my pho was overcooked. Never going back again.

Tried their hor fun that day, it was probably the worst hor fun of my life, do they really know what hor fun really is ?! It was so dry and tasteless , I thought I was eating so kind of rubber band and so on. Decided to give it a try again, since I really have no idea what to eat in west end, and ordered a pork chop rice, the pork chop was okay but the portion is so small definitely not worth the price , not going back anymore

Lohan Vegetarian Ho Fun Noodles. Average - huge pieces of bland bean curd and vegetables in a bland gelatinous sauce with over-cooked rice noodles.

Absolutely disappointing.. We don't know if this restaurant recently changed their chef or just don't bother putting their hearts into their cooking because our meals this evening were of the poorest quality and taste. Our fried rice looked anything but. Apart from ham and eggs (and an enormous dose of sugar) it looked like steamed rice. Our 'braised beef' dishes were clearly boiled. With both a horrendous dose of corn flour the sauce was unbelievably thick you could have flipped the dish upside down nothing would have fallen.
Our crispy skin chicken and lemon chicken had been either cooked twice or date from last week. We nearly choked it was so dry and rubbery. Not crispy at all.
Only good thing was our steamed dim sims.
Such a disappointment for a well placed restaurant who had wowed us in the past. Never setting foot in there again. $75 wasted and they weren't professional enough to hear our feedback. Very rude. Do not deserve to hold a restaurant. No wonder it was empty on a Friday night.

Pho was too salty it left me feeling so thirsty for the rest of the afternoons. Much prefer the Vietnamese restaurants around the corner on hardgrave rd.

The best Vietnamese food in town. We have been going to Viet Hoa for years and absolutely love it! It's definitely a restaurant which we frequently visit for Viet food.

The grilled beef rice paper rolls, potato prawns, paw paw salad and fried quail are our top picks. Food is extremely delicious and the venue is friendly. Ten out of ten! A must if you appreciate well cooked Viet fusion cuisine.

Great place but not a great food. I went out with my boyfriend on a Monday night for dinner and we tried Viet Hoa because we never try this place before.
Went in, not many people in the restaurant so we thought it could be because of a Monday night, people are tired from work.
I ordered rare beef noodle soup and my boyfriend ordered grilled pork chop with rice and ice red bean in coconut milk.
My beef noodle soup was bad. The soup just fill with MSG, although the beef was tender and nice.
Grilled pork chop rice was not very flavorsome too. The dipping sauce wasn't nice and tasty as compared to other Vietnamese restaurants.
We asked for chili oil because we like it spicy but they didn't have it, which is very uncommon and weird. Luckily, they have chopped chili to satisfy our desire for spicy food.
Ice red bean in coconut milk wasn't a hit either. They didn't put much condense milk and they gave small straw which didn't work if you are drinking ice red bean.
Overall, we didn't have a great experience in this restaurant and we would not come back to this restaurant.

This place was such a hit and miss for me. On one side, it was great to see the owner (Sam) out and about. He was really nice and constantly smiling. On the other hand, the presentation of my meal was abysmal. I've had enough broken rice in my time to know what it should look like. My came out like a misplaced pile of rice. Vietnamese is generally famous for its generous servings and generous is not what I received. Having said this, I will go back some time and try my luck with another dish, but I won't be going out of my way to do so.

Always delish!. I love Viet Hoa. The food never disappoints. I live nearby and have the pho at least once a week. It's satisfying, fresh and cheap! The staff are friendly and always welcoming. It is definitely one of West End's hidden gems!

Great place for family friendly dining.. I have eaten at Sam's Viet Hoa for years and have never been disappointed. Lunch with friends, dinner with family or just a quick meal before theatre and have always felt good after the experience.
Sam is a genuine hardworking Australian citizen originally from Vietnam, with a great work ethic, his wife works hard in the kitchen producing fresh flavourful food in most hygenic conditions.
The Prawn and Pork Rolls entree is served with the best home made light concoction of slightly chili flavoured sauce.
His Spicy Beef Pho is the best this side of Vietnam.
The family involvement means a long term relationship is maintained in the welcoming atmosphere of the restaraunt.
Sam runs a good business

Cheap eats. This place is no frills but worth checking out. If you're after a good pho, classic Vietnamese iced coffee or a fresh, healthy vermicelli chicken salad then Viet Hoa won't disappoint. This is decent, tasty food and so cheap. It's served fast and with a smile. All good! If you're after ambience, fancy condiments and designer lighting, try somewhere else!

The pork rice paper rolls were ordinary pork was dry wouldn't go back if they can't even get these right!

Amazing Vietnamese food. Had the wonton and noodle soup, superb. Wife has the sizzling chicken and black bean and loved it. The spring rolls were fresh and generous. Good prices, around $11-13 for a main

Chicken Noodle Soup (Pho). The Chicken Noodle Soup (or properly named Pho) at Viet Hoa is the best Pho in Brisbane.

I was absolutely devastated when they closed after the floods in January but they have since reopened (with very shiny floors!) and have begun fulfilling my pho dream again.

I have tried the Pho at Trang as well, and I prefer this one (just personal taste).

Very cheap, always quick and very friendly service!

Two strikes and you are out!. I use to come weekly for Pho because it is done really well , however I will now never go again. Had one bad experience with service, ordered pork rolls and prawn rolls came out, the owner challenged us and was pissed off (i don't eat prawns), the pork rolls then NEVER came out. Decided to let that go and come back, but unfortunately my favorite dish Chicken Pho they decided to totally skimp on the chicken by putting a few measly pieces in.

We were weekly visitors to this restaurant but after one night, the service was so terrible we will never be back. Don't come here.

...The beef vermicelli noodles would have to be one of the better dishes they offer... there's a nice balance of different type of vegetables and the grilled beef, that's the best part...The only drawback however, would be the amount of peanuts they sprinkle on the vermicelli noodle... the taste of peanuts can overpower the other flavours...

I was going to go on a field trip to Inala for Vietnamese food over the holidays (courtesy of a good uni friend of mine who promised it would be the most authentic pho) but plans went astray. The Vietnamese cravings didn't subside though so when we were d
