I got the best experience from The Jin. The foods were amazing and the customer service was great from their lovely staffs. The place is very hygienic. I would definitely go back :))))
The Jin Modern Japanese Cuisine serves a mixture of both Japanese and Italian food. This small, hidden gem is located in Calamvale Square at Beaudesert Road. The restaurant was very neat and cozy and we were warmly greeted by the waitress the moment we entered. I would strongly recommend their Beef Tadaki, it was so flavoursome and went really with rice. They were also very generous with their portion for their pasta, especially their seafood. Would definitely be back for more!
This is one of our favourite Japanese restaurants in Brisbane and we have enjoyed every meal over the past 2 years. Phuong Tran and I visit for lunch ordering Sashimi Salmon, Beef Tadaki, Takoyaki and a Golden Tower Roll.
As expected, every dish is scrumptious. The two exceptional dishes are the Beef Tadaki and the Golden Tower Roll. Well done guys!
Our new local. Dined here twice now and eaxh timw has ver consistent . Delicious traditional Japanese food. Udon noodles were amazing and so was sushi. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly and attentive.
Ribs are falling off the bone tender but a bit too sweet. Overall a very good dining experience.
First time here tonight, heard good things from friends and we thought we would give it a try. We had a calamari entree, delicious. The missus has the salmon teriyaki which she loved and I had the surf and turf. The steak was delicious, the bugs with the rose crab meat sauce was to die for! We will be back again and recommend the surf and turf. Yum!
Tonight saw us go to a Japanese restaurant suggested by my sister. The shopping centre this place is located in is busy, maybe it was Thursday night late trading.
Modern for out, ample tables and chairs, we had reserved a table so was easy and down.
The menus were handed to us after we sat down, not a big menu but plenty to choose from. Wasn't busy only us and 1 other table.
We went with octopus balls, green beans, house ramen, miso soup, chicken teriyaki benyo box, golden tower, land and sea sushi rolls and 3 avo rolls for kids.
Food arrived pretty quickly and presentation, taste and size of portion were decent. But we had ordered avo rolls which were 6 small pieces. The same you would get from sushi Edo, when we got our bill they were $9 a serve. So for 3 we paid $27, and we could only pay $3.80 at Edo.
I have to say, the ramen was one of the better ones I have had, with a touch of spice, polished it off.
Apart from the bill shock, enjoyed our meal.
There's nothing quite like the Jin, a warm atmosphere that is inviting and friendly, Michelin star quality for the same prices as sushi train and other nearby places, as a Japanese and Italian fusion restuarant it has a unique cuisine that is nearly impossible to find anywhere else, the owner puts his everything in to his food and the quality becomes apparent with every dish

We got the Bugs Pasta, Scallap and Crab sushi, Takoyaki and Karage Chicken and they were all perfect 👌 Waited quite a while to receive our meals (1.5 hrs) but with 1 wait staff, we were fine waiting especially because she was very polite and friendly. Definitely recommend this place though and will come back to try other dishes in the menu
First of all you wouldn’t expect the decor of this place in the location it is in. The fit out brings a certain ambience which sets the scene for the menu to come. Japanese, Italian fusion is what to expect. The menu has elements of both cuisines and I must say, they make it work. The beef Tataki was the best dish of the night. The flavors of sweet ponzu, toasty sesame seed and garlic chips balanced perfectly with the beautifully thin sliced slightly seared premium quality beef. Then followed the two sushi dishes both of which had a strong Italian theme running through them. The golden tower was topped with a rich seafood bisque like sauce which was not what I would usually put on my sushi yet worked and was delicious. Next time I will be trying the pasta which looked amazing!
Found out about this place recently.
Truly a hidden gem. Bug pasta, full of flavour and amazing. I also ordered the beef tadaki, they have a an Italian style beef tadaki and a Japanese style. I tried both and they were both very tasty.
Sushi rolls were also great, I tried the land and sea roll.
The gyoza's are here are also probably the best I've had around Brisbane. Different from your SONO gyoza's but still very good.
Black mussel soup is also a must try. The seafood is always fresh.
The pastas are also made in house and fresh.
Oh and also try the desserts! The chef makes them all in house and they are great
Prices are very reasonable for servicing sizes and flavour. I will definitely be coming back.... Often.
Recommended to many friends and family and they have all said the food was excellent.
Nice ambience. Love the seared salmon and avocado bowl. Tempura udon is also great. Service is quick and prices are good for the meals provided.
Tried this place for the first time. Ordered the bug pasta, seafood pasta, takoyaki and salmon sashimi for take away. Everything was so tasty. Can't wait to try other items on the menu.
We have eaten at Jin’s many times now our last visit was on Saturday night. The food is absolutely amazing we have not had anything on the menu we didn’t love we were in the city for a show but chose to come back home to Jin’s for dinner the service is impeccable they are so friendly and nothing is a problem. We wholeheartedly recommend Jin’s.
I and my colleges recently had the pleasure of dining at The Jin Modern Restaurant and it was nothing short of a brilliant experience. The service was outstanding. The food was spectacular that I have never experienced before. Very much looking forward to dining again in the near future!
Best nigiri sushi set ever and so happy with a quality of sushi and sashimi. Looking forward to try new menu starting from January 2nd. If anyone love Japanese foods, this is place to try and simply best in this area.

Best chicken curry ever! So fresh and authentic! The service is also impeccable! Everyone is so lovely and accommodating. Slight downfall is that food does take some time to come out however it is worth the wait!

service friendly, fresh sushi/sashimi options were great, disappointed in the cooked dishes tho :/ kinda overpriced but it fills you up so i guess that’s good enough. no gluten free sauce!!! so devo :( at least there was pickled ginger and cold water.........
ordered salmon sashimi, which was probably my fave and worth its money. sashimi was fresh. came with two spoons of pickled ginger. loved it
also had the jin’s special roll, which i found to not really be that special. the flavours kinda all just mashed together into this rather bland mouthful. the salmon was cooked nicely but that was where the good stuff ended :/ i didn’t like their creamy sauce. could barely taste the lychee flavour.
golden tower roll was another disappointment. maybe it’s because i prefer sashimi/raw fish idk but this also lacked flavour. hated the crab salad. again, way too much creamy stuff. scallops were cooked okay but lacked flavour.
octopus sashimi was a hit tho!!! damn that stuff is good.
salmon avocado roll — i mean if they had gotten this wrong i would’ve just walked right out but thankfully it tasted as it should. sushi rice could be better but hey i love raw salmon and avocado so it’s good for me :D (overpriced tho)
anyway, enjoyed the visit. staff were really friendly so they get great points for that. definitely would recommend to those who like japanese food although i’d only recommend the raw food/sashimi
Went here a few months ago, before they were even on Zomato ( check out google reviews ) took my wife for her birthday and we loved it. Staff were awesome and food was unbelievable, can't wait to return again soon
Stumbled on this restaurant by chance while getting fish and chips next door came back and dined that night Thursday last week. Pleasantly surprised and impressed the entree prawns were tasty but very small, the karaage rice with curry was very nice and the modern take sushi rolls were very tasty but a little too creamy. Eating 1-2 great eating eight heavily white sauced sushi...a bit too rich for me. They also have main meals like pasta and steaks with a touch of Japanese twist which we have yet to try. Not bad for a surburban restaurant.
We have been to this restaurant on three different occasions and each time the food, service and ambience has been perfect. We are so lucky to have a restaurant of this standing in our area. Please try the Moreton Bay bug pasta as listed on the menu as a popular dish and we can see why.
