Had a breakfast smoothie after a quick river loop ride on Saturday, bike parking out front. It had banana, peanut butter, oats, interesting taste. Nice interior.
Great coffee, great service. The staff were super friendly. I love that they have a range of bean blends to choose from, with a flavour profile for each. Very nice.
Meatballs And Beef Cheeks
+3.5
Veneziano Coffee Roasters make a very nice cup of coffee.
Mini Meatball and I popped in this morning, immediately after trying a coffee at Recycle down the street, for an Iced Latte and some Banana Bread.
I ordered a large Iced Latte for takeaway, but was advised that they only have one size, which was quite small for $5. That said, the coffee is rich and complex - much more interesting than your average coffee and worth the price. The coffee rates a 4.
The banana bread was served warm with butter. It had good flavor, but there wasn't very much of it - especially for $4. It looked nice and thick in the case, but they either sliced it in half or pressed it too much while heating it. Either way, this couldn't even fill up Mini Meatball. This rated a 3.
Plenty of seating, including an upstairs.
I suspect this is also a place that turns out some decent coffee art - the barista was clearly dedicated to his craft and could be seen taking great pains to pour perfect coffees for those dining in.
I will happily return for the coffee, but will probably give the food a pass on the basis of value for money.
Just bought two bags of beans and loving them, even the decaf tastes awesome!! You get free coffee when you purchase their beans which is a plus. The only downside is they don't open on Sundays...
Great coffee, they roast their own beans here and definitely know how to make a good coffee. They have food options as well if you want to grab a bite but their main focus is coffee
Delicious coffee and nice staff. Great atmosphere, open and airy with outdoor table out the front. Small selection of sweets and savory items in the cabinet. Bonsoy available :)
The coffee had a great temperature and a rich dark flavour. However I was hit with unfortunate spikes of bitterness. Unfortunately there were coffee grounds in my cup which would explain the bitterness.
A bit of tweaking and it could just be brilliant
This is a nice cafe with friendly people. The coffee was good but took quite some time coming... There is a limited choice of food although what there was looked good.
Recommended. Friendly service, wonderful food, and delicious coffee. I can't fault this place!
Friendly service, nice coffee, tad expensive. Coffee is quite nice albeit a little cold for my liking - even asking for extra hot I didn't feel the slight burn on my tongue I usually enjoy. Food is a little overpriced for the portion size. You're better off walking across the street to Lettuce Eat for food. Otherwise good service, cute atmosphere and rather enjoyable experience.
First Pour - West End, Brisbane. In the deep, industrial part of West End lies this roasting house. It is a long way from the rest of the dining options, perhaps seeming somewhat misplaced. This works to its advantage and gives it a quiet and calming character. To get here, it is either a long walk or finding a lucky bus that stops right in front of it.
Before I had work nearby one morning, my dining buddy and I went to try this place out. Walking in you can tell that this place was a warehouse beforehand. It is spacious, very clean, has a smaller second level (apparently a viewing platform to watch the roasters in action) and, with the wide door out the front, it is easy to keep cool from the breeze even on a hot day. The counter is open to the street, thus it is easy and enticing to walk right in.
Service is amongst the friendliest I have encountered, and this time around it is the proper sort of friendly; they seem genuinely happy to see clientele and are happy to talk if there is nothing much to do. The crew have enthusiasm for their work. Someone I even knew, from previous visits to another place, was there and she was as gregarious there as ever. To show the enthusiasm of the crew there about coffee, the flavour wheel of the beverage is on the wall.
The coffee I got was a double shot cappuccino with the single origin bean. That day, it was an Ethiopian nekisse, which had flavour notes of both blueberry and strawberry. I could taste the notes in it, and it gave a slightly sweet flavour as per what the blackboard out the front mentioned. It was a strong and tasty coffee, with a deep, and full body.
At the time the two of us were there, they did not have a menu per se; the coffee house was going through a rearrangement. However, a selection of goodies - a mixture of bakery items - were in a cabinet. One of the items was a carrot cake cupcake, this is what I got. This was filling, moist and sweet with a generous layer of frosting on top.
One specialised coffee that they are known for and even have information on is Chemex. This is a specialty kind of coffee from the United States. It is a drip-filter variety that gets the namesake from the device used; shaped like a glass, it uses thicker filters than usual which remove the coffee oil which leads to a different taste than usual. Overall, the taste of it is cleaner and there is a less viscous texture. The Chemex was so good, that when I came back - for reasons remaining undisclosed - when I was asked if I would like a coffee I went quickly for this one.
This is a great find, and amongst the best coffee this side of town. Coffee lovers should certainly consider sussing it out if they have not already. There is a lot of incentive to return.
Tried this place on the weekend. Had a latte and eggs benedict.
Was over all quite good. Very affordable. Coffee lacked a little in flavour but I'm a little more into specialty coffee these days. Great work!
Diana. I would have enjoyed my coffee here much more if it had been hotter. Sorry thats just my thing with coffee especially when there is a distinct chill in the air. I was very impressed however with the flavour & technique of the pour. Loved the trendy shop & roastery & the cool seats where you can lay back & chill!
Coffee is great! And matched with good food too! Awesome service as well! Staff are informed about the coffee, attentive, and has excellent customer service! The place has just recently been renovated, worth checking it out!
Coffee. If you want excellent coffee, this is the place!
Coffee excellence. Not fair to comment too much about the food here as we have only had a few small snacks (which were OK but not stunning). The coffee however is consitently excellent and we have found the service to be good with the girls there in the morning fun and happy. Highly recommended for bean addicts.
Blend was much nicer. My friend ordered single origin, and he said it was not so great. My blend tasted really good though the wait person forgot I had ordered single origin. The place was spacious and as a roaster, they offer several courses to make nice cup at home or become barista. Worth visiting if you are around West End.
Great coffee, but indifferent service- at least when we went.
A nice small coffeehouse with character! The baristas & servers know their business, & the Venezuano Coffee is wonderful!
Great coffee!!! Friendly staff, they even have a kids corner for my 2 year old to draw in.
Best Coffee in Brisbane, hands down. This is by far the best coffee in Brisbane, even better than the oft talked about, green with white frond coffee place that is also quite popular. Their rotating coffee blends always hit the spot, their staff are friendly and service is prompt.
Not to say that the other place is any worse in any respect, but Veneziano is just better.
I don't drink coffee when I go cycling, because it's a massive diuretic hit, but I make an exception for Veneziano.
Spoilt for choice. I like the coffee here. Hard to compete with my favourite at Ugees around the corner but still good. I like the staff and the space.
Great Spot. Veneziano Caffe is a great place to meet up in a relzxing, friendly atmosphere.
The staff are friendly and fun.
Its ok. I think that the service could be a little less uptight. The coffee is OK and the food is OK.
A friendly cafe dedicated to the beans. The staff are well informed about the art of caffeination. One if the better places to enjoy coffee and a great place to relax if one needs a break from the sun after a picnic along the river
One of a few places in Brisbane where it is possible to purchase in house roasted beans.
Located on Montague Road, Veneziano Caffe or First Pour, as is promoted on their website , can often be missed or mistaken for something other than a coffee place. Don’t be put off by the warehouse street frontage or internal setting, as the venue is both a showroom and espresso bar. Veneziano has a cool ambience and is conducive to conducting a business meeting or chilling with friends. An added bonus is going upstairs to check out the roasting warehouse though the large window on the mezzanine floor. The light shades are made of coffee bean bags and look pretty cool. You can even buy used coffee bags for a dollar. There is lots of other coffee paraphernalia for sale and coffee courses for the keen or budding barista. There is always an array of blends that have been roasted on the premises. The Forza blend is the most regularly offered blend and is 95% arabica, 5% robusta. Not often you see a Robusta bean in a coffee shop blend. A single source Brazilian (Rodomunho) was also availabl
Do not undermine this simple mashed avocado on toasted sourdough. Somehow, I enjoyed it so much that I want more. The caramelised onions jam were so yummy and that was the first time I tried it together with the avocado.
Veneziano Coffee West End is my favourite place. Their coffee is the best I've ever had. The food is also fantastic, their recently revamped menu is to die for - my favourite is the Montage Benedict (poached eggs on zucchini fritters and citrus hollandaise sauce).
Their newly renovated cafe is incredible - when you walk in you’re greeted by friendly staff, nice background music and a fresh space. Karen and the team are very friendly and knowledgeable. I used to come here on a Saturday morning but now I'm here every morning before work as well.
I 100% recommend Veneziano and can guarantee you will not be disappointed.
Service was excellent from beginning to end. Salad was best. Fresh and Delicious with generous servings. My husband had his all time favourite; the poached eggs were perfect with oozing yolks. The hot chocolate came in a delightful ceramic mug with the contents being silky smooth. Would definitely make it my regular go to Cafe for a feast of all things good
These guys are just amazing. The two girls at the front make one of the best coffees I never had. Seeing them prepare a coffee is just calming, and the result is always spot on. Well done guys, keep it up.
Karen and the team are so welcoming and make the best coffee's I've had recently.. every time. The new shop is spacious and comfy and menu is amazing if you need a feed too. Great old fashioned service too.. water and coffee to the table, checking if there's anything else.. and there's a neat outdoors dining area too. Keep up the great vibe team.. chrs peter
Wow, just wow! Went to this cute coffee shop by chance whilst visiting West End. Felt immediately welcomed as approached by the concierge. I ordered a takeaway coffee and Almond croissant. The coffee was amazing and the croissant to die for. I am looking forward to returning there one day soon to dine in. Can't wait 🥰
Local coffee roasters in West end. The coffee is fantastic, and if you're looking for something different try their gingerbread iced latte - it's tastes just like the real thing!
I went here by chance when I was in the area a couple of years ago. On my first sip of the coffee it was an immediate WOW and it has been consistentever since! The difference that stood out to me was the freshness of the deep earthy, nurturing beans. We were sitting upstairs, with a view over the floor below, and when I turned around I got a huge surprise to see a large viewing window into the coffee roastery in the back of the building. I then realised why the coffee tasted so fresh! After a total renovation the new interior is light and airy, with a direct view of the roastery which is now on full view through the glass wall. There is a good range of food options and breakfast is popular here. I find it hard to go past the oven fresh homestyle muffins and crispy pastries. You can often grab a loaf of artisan bread to take home as they usually have few loaves for sale. The service is always genuinely warm and friendly here and there is a relaxed vibe. It's always a great experience.
