Review The Prince Of India - Brisbane

The food was absolutely delicious, my partner and I ordered the couples deal and it was the perfect amount of food for the two of us! I can be a picky eater but the curries we ordered were perfect in taste, temperature and texture! The staff were friendly taking our order and were quick to have everything prepared. Will absolutely be ordering from here again!

I've ordered from this place three times now and have never been disappointed. If anything, it just keeps getting better and better. So many vegetarian options to choose from which is great to see!

Love this place. What feels like authentic Indian. Butter chicken with garlic Naan is great. They also have changed there Naan recently to be better. Don't change what your doing. Prices are reasonable and affordable. This is a must try spot.

Take away is always excellent. Best paneer I have ever had at a restaurant. Potato and chickpeas excellent. Sides always beautifully done.

Food is ok. Naan definitely needs a bit more garlic. Staff is rude. Regardless we order 1 or 10 curries we only get 1 rice with the order, doesn't make sense.

Good little restaurant, friendly and decent curry too. Had the lunch special butter chicken with naan and was pretty good.

Delicious food....we have recently started going there for takeaways...it’s awesome... whenever feel like eating outside, we don’t think of any other place except Prince of India..highly recommended.

Butter chicken was good. The potato curry dish was nice. Was not the biggest fan of mango chicken but my partner enjoyed it

Perfect portions, not stingy with meat and veges. Curries are full of flavour. Mango chicken is usually my staple and it's perfect (some places have mango chicken as a bland jar kind of sauce hurt this one is great and has a nice bit of spice). Their garlic nan is great and perfect amount of garlic. Usually pretty quick service too. Good prices considering all curries come with rice.

I ordered Paneer Butter Masala and asked for mild and no capsicum and when I got it home there was little red bits in there and it was spicy so I rang them and I asked if they put capsicum in there and they said no and I asked if it was mild and they said no you never asked for mild but I've been eating Indian for 20 years and I've never had it hotter than mild, even mild for me sometimes is too spicy and I used to have ulcers and have to go to the hospital because I would be in agony so I never eat really spicy food so I would never ask for medium.

The food was nice but would have been nicer if my mouth wasn't burning while I was eating it. The mango lassi was very good, the garlic naan is very good and the gulab jamun is very good

Enjoyed the pumpkin & eggplant curry & it wasn't overpriced. Was tasty with a decent amount of heat. Service was good & they also do a good naan bread

Tried this place again and have been made to increase my rating!
Went here again last night and had the feast again - This time we had an incredible meal.
Firstly, the lady looking after us was very pleasant and attentive.
Service was slow but we didn't mind as it was alot of food to enjoy and we had a lovely chat. The restaurant did about five TA orders while we were there but we were the only ones to dine in.
The entree is HUGE, everything is very nice, they could probably take two items off the entree platter and it would still be a great deal and entree. The malai tikka is particularly delicious, along with the samosas of course. For curries we decided to be adventurous and have curries we have never hard of before - Kadai paneer and Dehli style lamb. The Kadai paneer will be something I return for, it was really different, fresh tasting because it was without cream, more tomato and capsicum based. I loved it. The lamb was also good but perhaps a little too creamy for my palate, B loved it. The naan was lovely, bready more than flakey, the way I like it. Raita was good too, as were the pappadums. We had the kulfi for dessert, much more traditional that I have had before, very nutty, not too sweet. It was nice but I do prefer the more Westernised version, but it was great to see they do the kulfi properly here.
The value is really unbeatable. We'll be back and will invite another couple so we can try more curries!

----------------------------------
Old review, 3.5/5
Really good value, the feast is only $25 each for a three course meal! Problem i they forgot our pappadums and had no dessert left to offer! This was a little annoying considering we were not told when we ordered, only when I went to order dessert. We were offered a drink instead.... this would have been nice with the meal but instead we took home a can of coke each.
The naan is superb.
Curries were good.
I can't comment on the dessert!

They would have scored an additional point had dessert been served, and decent.

Very good. This restaurant changed management/ownership a year or two again, and since that time it has become a wonderful place to eat. The portions sizes are generous. The curries are all freshly cooked and tasty good. The nann bread is some of the best I've ever tried (fresh, decent size, delicious - I especially love the spinach cheese, which uses fresh spinach). The staff are just delightful and the prices are very reasonable. Really can't fault this place! Impressed.

The real prince of indian restaurant. I have been to many indian restaurant in brisbane, but prince of india is best. My favorite dishes are chicken biriyani and cheese and garlic naan. In gravy, madras curry chicken is the best. You gotta taste tat. Its mouth watering.

Great experience!. We had an excellent experience last night at Prince of India. The food was delicious and generously sized, and had great prices. In particular, the Prince Platter was great value for money and really tasty. The staff were attentive and friendly, without being overbearing. This is our new favourite Indian restaurant, we can't wait to eat there again!

-----20 Oct, 2014-----

Great experience!. I love this place. We ate takeaway from here 4 times in 2 weeks, everything has been bowl-licking delicious! Forget food coma, I am so full of curry I'm going into a korma. Love.

Yum. Really enjoyed the Lamb Saag and garlic naan. The naan was loaded with garlic and really tasty. The take away serving was very generous with a free saffron rice! Staff were really friendly and the service very fast. Will be going back again soon.

Change of management... and chef. Used to be good - now it is terrible... the sauces taste like they came out of a jar (and not the good ones too...) never been back there since they changed cooks. never will again.

Hit and miss. Some dishes are great, some are inedible, but the worst part is that sometimes the rice has a 'musty' flavour. Haven't been back in a year or two, so maybe it has improved!

Delicious. We had Navratan Korma and half tandoori chicken. Rice came free. Serves were generous and flavours were as they should be. Take away service was fast and friendly. Will definitely enjoy the Prince of India again soon.
