Review Yeronga Bakery & Cafe - Brisbane

I love this bakery, they do a fabulous takeaway large salad with the lot. Love it. The staff are always flat out but very friendly. Great customer service and food quality.

First time we have tried this bakery and a last minute decision as we were driving past! Best decision we could have made. Everything was extremely fresh, pies were delicious and the peas even more so. Vanilla slice was not too sweet and really lovely, and the date and walnut loaf was delicious! Staff were lovely and very attentive! This is a go too!

Such lovely smiling faces behind the counter - it is a joy to spend my money on such delicious food with such lovely people. I had a roast beef and gravy roll there a few weeks ago and on recommendation of a young lady there today, I had a Mars Bar ice cream. Oh my goodness - sensation overload (and I am sure it was probably low calorie and low sugar ... right?). I think I have found my new regular when I am out cycling and it will also be nice to stop in with family for a bite at times. Thank you ladies for such a nice experience. I am sure you were all probably tired after a busy day and looking forward to going home but you still had happy smiling faces. See you next time!

4 July 2021. Went to bakery after lock down. Ordered the chicken schnitzel burger , $9.8. I will be back for another, hope they don’t change it. They use real fresh cooked schnitzel with fresh salad. Friendly and efficient service. This is great local spot. 5 stars.

The best Curry pies in Brisbane. Good sausage rolls as well, although the snag rolls have gotten smaller over time, they're still real and filling. Always good service and reasonably priced for the quality you receive.

There all day breakfast was great but there pies are just absolute slop paid $7.20 for steak a mush pie could not pick up to eat it. One of the worst pies I have ever had. Then your workers are ripping me and you off.

great service, the fresh juice combinations are brilliant. Just make sure if you ask for a salad sandwich you ask for all the salads. The sweets are so yummy.

Almost always packed, great no nonsense everything for a bakery eatery. It's too busy to have such a poorly designed service area. Customers are always having to manage each other as to whether people are waiting for food and drinks or to be served. It slows down service, its annoying, because even if people are waiting in line they tend to hang back so far because of all the other people milling around but it's impossible to see what's available before you are getting served. A, Z shape rope line section would do the trick. It would force people waiting in line to move close to the counter so you could see everything behind the glass and on the menu.

Dropped in this bakery cafe early this month. It seems the whole shopping village is quiet and one of the busy cafe was closed down.
Promised myself to have a pie for my revisit so ordered a mush tee & steak pie with a flat white. Maybe my expectation was high because this cafe announces that they serve the best pie in town. In fact, it is just average with slight thick pastry but rich flavour in the ingredients. Coffee is the same story, just so so.,..
Rating3.5/5

Last visit: Feb 16, 2016

Just happened to find this bakery while I was driving along this road one day. Have visited 5-6 times since and have been happy with the service every time. Awesome food, friendly staff, great selection of baked treats and hot food. Would recommend a visit if you are in the area!

We come here for a coffee after our lunch at Yeronga Village. This Bakery Cafe has been here for a long time and is frequented by locals. I like the spotlessly clean Sandwich Bar on the side of the Cafe. Our order is quickly taken and our coffee arrives in minutes.

The Cafe Late is served hot but it is weak, lacking flavour. It is still a decent coffee rating a 3.5! I will ask for an extra shot next visit.

Drive past this place a few times and time to drop in and needing a coffee. This place is busy, which is always a good sign, friendly staff.

Looks like your typical bakery, pies, sausage rolls, sandwiches, rolls and also a cafe menu. Service is reasonably fast with 4 people behind the counter.

Good pie range and I went with chicken, bacon and mushroom with a large latte. Haven't had a chicken pie in a long time so why not. Pie and coffee for under $10, not bad.

The coffee was very hot could not drink it immediately after taking a sip. The coffee flavour was not strong as in could not really taste the coffee, very milky. The chicken was pastry was good, the puff on top was not too flaky and stayed together well. The filling was average, overall just a chicken pie with some mushrooms and very little bacon.

It is a nice little place to visit if you drive past. They have plenty of seating for a sit down.

A Yeronga Icon. Always open. Always busy. Great food. Pies. Custard things, ham and salad roll. Proper ham. Ask for beetroot to top it off. Reliable and huge variety of foods. Everything freshly prepared. Nothing pre wrapped in plastic. Rapid turn over. Ask any of the regulars, tradies, passing salesmen, nurses, railway workers and locals. Kudos to Yeronga Bakery.

This Bakery Cafe served an average pie usually overlooked and soggy. The coffee is average and breakfast is OK had better elsewhere. Would I recommend the Yeronga Bakery probably not based on my experience on the two occasions I have been. I was very disappointed with the service and quality of the food. Would I recommend this establishment probably not.

I like that this place is pretty much right across the road from me, and open quite late. The chips here are yummy, crispy and cooked to order (bit of a wait).

I have had a few of the pies, I like that they put the peas under the pie lid. I also like the free and unlimited sauce. However the pies are often a bit soggy underneath, perhaps undercooked. I am also not a fan of them still being in their tins when you are eating-in. I think that's just a little lazy... its kind of hard to get it out of the tin after it is covered in gravy and full of mushy peas.
I have bought a loaf of whole meal sour dough which was more like a whole meal normal loaf - very annoying.
Pies are good, as is the service!

Some of the staff are really rude, they're very slow and take a long time to make coffee. I wouldn't even bother ordering a juice unless you have 20 mins to spare. The food is nice, but the general slowness and lack of customer service is a real let down.

I have been eating their catering items (pies, sausage rolls, feta triangles, sweet selection of slices) for the last 10 years or so. They make quite good party pies; although they aren't as fancy as Pie Face's were (they have all but disappeared now...), they certainly were MUCH better value for money. I can definitely say they are better than Brumby's party pies and the supermarket frozen ones don't even come close!

Verdict: great for your office morning tea; and, they deliver!

One of my regular haunts with consistently good food obviously made with quality ingredients and skill. All the pies and sausage rolls are fresh and savoury. The burgers are tops too. The sweets cabinet speaks for itself! Always busy.

Absolutely love their food, have stopped in most mornings when travelling to LCC Hospital always brought a quiche and the Lemon Ginger Zinger juice is unreal. I now travel down on Sundays from Marburg for my Lemon Ginger Zinger and my husband loves the Sunshine Blitz.

Yeronga Bakery & Cafe is situated just around the corner from us, and we have frequented plenty of times over the years! It is self advertised as Best Pies in Town. Funnily, I thought that the name of the bakery was Best Pies in Town for the better part of two years. I am no pie connoisseur by any measure, but I like to think I know a good pie when I taste it. So, in saying that, the pies and other bakery items are good, but best would be an over exaggeration.

The bakery is busy pretty much most of the day, and I have rarely been there when there hasn't been a line two or three deep. They have plenty of staff on, especially on the weekends which is their busiest time. It is just a pity that they aren't the most friendly of staff. Some are really nice, but others seem like they are just there because they have to be!

Being a bakery and cafe, they offer the usual pies, sausage rolls, and pastries. They have a good selection of pie fillings for any taste. They also offer barista coffee and selection of rolls and sandwiches. I haven't tried their coffee as yet, as I am always dubious about bakeries trying to do coffee. But by all accounts, the coffee is supposed to be nice. They do not have EFTPOS, and are cash only. This can cause problems, but there is a ATM close by next to the Nightowl. Go to the ATM first is my first recommendation. My second is to try the smoko dog. You won't regret it.

They don't accept eftpos.... But the accept cash or payWave.... Go figure. So the girl took the time to explain that they only do payWave, but heaven forbid I swipe my card!! In that time I would have swiped and entered my PIN several times.
Not overly impressed overall, so I won't be back.

The pies are excellent, the service is friendly and they seem to be open all the time. Which is just as well because I can't think of a time of day when I wouldn't go a pie. Are they Brisbane's best as claimed? Who judges this? Is there an official pie standards board? Why aren't I on it? These are the things that keep me up at night.

Been here a few times and found it to be a bit inconsistent, some of the staff can be very rude whilst others can be pretty good. The food can be awesome or it can be pretty average. As a whole the service itself is pretty fast, but I don't know how often I'll return if the staff aren't more friendly next time.

This is an old school bakery with a little bit extra. A counter greets you with cakes, scones and pies, while to the side there is a sandwich bar when you can choose your fillings. There are also tables and chairs for those who want to eat in. It's very popular, no doubt due to the combination of good simple food and reasonable prices. My personal favorite is their steak pie - unhealthy I know but there are some days where it is just oh so convenient...

Best Bakery in Brisbane. I visit this bakery often & every visit is better than the last - the food is always great & the staff are friendly & courteous while always working very hard.
Best ever bacon & egg rolls!!!
Patsy
This place is beyond average and mostly the staff make it look all too hard and stressful! Hint guys: salad rolls don't have meat on them - so why do I have to pay for it? And who ever heard of paying extra for cucumber? And a vegetable pastie that is full of unseasoned rice? Bleeeuucchhh.

Good experience. I've been going to this bakery cafe for years and never been disappointed. The bacon and egg burgers are delightful and the coffee seems to come from amanti judging by the umbrellas which is different but quite good and the pies are always very good.

I am going to try the fruit salad next time I'm in there.

A very busy little spot but busy for good reason!

Only wish the staffs were more friendly... We live in yeronga and visit this place quite often. Food is very nice but I wish the staffs there were a bit friendly. They look somehow all grumpy and impatient.

Good Old fashion customer service. Called in at this bakery/café last weekend when it was wet and miserable outside.. Managed to find a seat even though it was extra busy. The staff were all working very quickly to try and serve the many customers at the counter.
I had a steak burger and chips (which was cooked just right) and my mother enjoyed a salad roll and an apple slice. Couldn't fault the food or the service at this shop and will be popping in again sometime soon....keep up the great work.....

Disappointed. Went to the bakery for the first and only time. Service was absolutely horrific, staff very unfriendly not one smile or conversation out of the three people who served me. My pie was soggy and couldnt even get it out of the metal tray thing it comes in. Very disappointmented.

Cupcakes are fresh and yummy. Curry pie was good. Veggie pasty was foul. Some weird flavours going on there. Was very dry and odd. Wouldn't get that again. Haven't tried the coffee but I've been told by my cultured coffee drinking housemates that it's awesome.
Porkybun
I have come here every now and then for about 4 years. The pie filling is good but theyrr never cooked enough. Always uncooked pastry on the bottom. The line was drawn at this veggie pasty/pastie though. I don't know what they were thinking, it was full of rice with a little veg (mushroom and peas) the rice was unseasoned and no sauce just solid bland rice!

Meh. Been there twice at 7:30AM now to find they don't have any brekkie pies?!

Bakery of yesteryear. Can't really fault this bakery at all. Simple bakery food that harks back to my childhood living in country towns. The pies are phenomenal and revoltingly fatty just the way they should be. My measure of a great bakery is the cream buns and this place truly delivers.

Been going to this bakery for years now and they are always great! The staff friendly, love the coffee and variety of food really good. Love havin a sausage roll or buying artisan loaf for dinner - also love that these guys are open after work (7pm maybe?) AND still serve coffee which is good for people working nights.

OK coffee for a bakery. Partner bought himself a meat & potatoe pie & said it was mediocre-in other words, not the best pie he has ever had, but OK!! They have a great selection of cakes, bread & treats , can recommend the pineapple coconut slice & lamingtons. The sausage rolls are enormous
