This is the best Chinese flavour restaurant I have been to in Brisbane. The waiter and waitress are so kind, make me feel realy at home. Food is fresh and delicious. Will definitely have another go.
Unfortunately where we live there are no local yum cha places around and Fortitude Valley being the closest to have one. My wife and I have been craving for yum cha for a while and decided to give King of Kings a go instead of making the trek to Sunnybank. I was expecting a lot worse based on the average reviews, but I ended up enjoying my meal.
The pan friend pork buns were a hit, as well the chicken feet (I find other places braise their chicken feet too salty! ). Spent $32 for 6 serves which was not too bad!
Great for yumcha if you are wandering around the valley and gathering an appetite. Quick and helpful. They only bring out what you order so there arent always trolleys of food going cold being pushed around the aisles.
I remember having an excellent sambal prawn here about a decade ago. I do enjoy Malaysian food made well, so this gives me another reason to head to this place soon.
We came for dinner so only could select from the limited yum cha menu; but the BBQ pork buns were great - not stingey with the filling like some places can be. We had the Peking Duck which is split into two courses, we had the normal pancake + shallot + hoisin then the San Choy Bow. Loved the pancakes but the 2nd course was a bit greasy. Service was great, and this place is awesome for big groups gearing up for a big night out; with BYO and a Bottle-O across the road.
Yum Cha here is always so good!! There's a great selection and the staff are really friendly. I would give it a five if there were a few more staff on to get water, tea etc.
I wasn't a huge fan of this, dumplings seemed empty and the outside of the dumpling was rubbery. But my partner seemed to enjoy it and really enjoyed the duck.
King of Kings is the ultimate location in Brisbane for large parties with no limits. They let you have fun and the dragon shot is rite of passage. The salt and pepper squid is the pick of the meals.
Old school yum cha. Instant gratification is a wonderful thing. we tried various steamed dumplings, bbq pork buns, and silken tofu. Old school classics that were all well done and a perfect start to a Sunday morning.

Watched this restaurant started in the 90s and had experienced their good and bad times in the industry. It believe it is quite decent today given the not many reputable yum cha places continue to exist in Chinatown. Tried it this year and quality and service were good and cleaniness was up to scratch. Good place to have yum cha when around the area.
8/10. I went here with a dozen or so friends one Friday night after work, turned out to be a great decision. The place had a good vibe and the waiter was really fun. We got some dragon shots (be warned, they are lethal) and he bought them out and told us the story and meaning behind them and got us all cheering and laughing. The only issue was that everyone got their meals at the same time except for a friend and I who got the roast duck, it took some time to come out but was delicious. Good value for money and a fun dining experience.
By far one of the best chinese restaraunts in Brisbane! Food is always great aswell as the staff, will always be my favorite place to eat in fortitude valley ! Money well spent
Yeeeaaa buddies. Oh this place is so fantastic, me and my furry friend proud pooch stopped in for yum cha one morning after our morning run at the park. I would strongly recommend the pork rib and black bean, and I love how it comes around on the little carts. I will definitely be back. Honours to the chefs.
I love this place. Food is fantastic and very fresh. It is very well priced and the staff are wonderful. We where an hour early for the Yum Char banquet so rather than make us wait, they started cooking and serving for us and our table of 8 was the only group there (10 am). Thank you King of Kings.
What an experience lol. I went for a friends birthday in May and she had the foresight to book the end room. The atmosphere was amazing! There was no issue with BYO - our table had cans of rum and bourbon as well as a bottle of tequila.
The mains are large serves so you could easily share your order with 2 others to save doubling up. I tried the jellyfish served with cold pork and it was surprisingly yum! I will order it again but with another dish to break the flavor.
Overall the food is a nice average but the rowdiness of the place and the promise of trying the banquet menu next time is what will be brining me back.
Yum Cha. Love the yum cha at this place, massive range of dishes, all tasty and good prices. Waitstaff are all friendly as is the manager and the guy on checkout. Decor leaves a little to be desired but whatever the food is yum.
Weeknights only. I've been to this restaurant on weekends and weeknights i find weeknights to be the better option on the weekends the places is noisy and full of club goers readying there bellies for a night of drinking it can be loud and not nice the staff on the weekends is spread thin and as they are Chinese nationals the English you get from them is broken at best but they make them selves understood
in this review I'll talk about my weeknight visit as it was the one that stuck with me
a friend and i had dinner there i believe it was a Thursday night the restaurant had a fair number of people in it we were seated and given menus
one thing i found odd was we didn't have a dedicated wait person we were served by four or five different people
i ordered the beef and black bean and my friend and i split a canister of steamed rice my friend had a pork dish the food was just great hearty and filling and everything you want from a Chinese meal
the restaurant its self is very large i have only seen it full on weekends i love the authenticity of it too the touches of Feng shui decorating the use of the color gold it's feels like a modern version of the restaurants you see in old kung fu movies
if i was going to take a group of people here it would not be on a Friday Saturday or a Sunday night
the weekend i went there they club goers really did spoil it for me but for a lunch or a week night dinner i would whole heatedly advise you to eat here
Favourite!. Never falls short!
Myself and 3 friends showed up to king of kings at around 8.30pm on a Wednesday night there was no one there but the amazingly nice matred was extremely friendly and still allowed us to dine and order banquet sized meals. They gave us extra desserts and free shots. By far the best service I have ever had! And loved the food! Great varity and generous sized servings!! 10/10
Love yum cha. Been here many times over the last 10 years always my best yum cha house in brisbane
nothing ever changes her good food great taste pretty girls
Average, but consistent. Music is always Elton John instrumental jazz piano remixes, aweful!! Food is always hot and fast but average, make of it what u will. Hands down best in Brissy is Landmark in Sunnybank, FYI.
I absolutely love the yum cha and tea these guys do. Dinner service in particular guarantees great freshness. Arriving late to lunch sometimes results in chewy dumplings. My only major concern arose because i ordered the selection of fried entrees was far far too oily. Great flavor, just stick to the yum cha!
Mid-morning Sunday yum cha and this place was pumping. It's loud and busy and there's no comprehension of personal space. But King of Kings, with its tackily coloured blue walls, has amazing service and good, consistent food. I'm not terribly impressed with the egg custard tart but most else was yummy. As always I like to give a shout out to the staff and these guys are above-average in the friendly department. In fact, next time I'm looking to yum cha I'm going here simply based on the staff.

Who doesn't like Yum Cha. This place is chaotic, don't go late or you wont get the good stuff. Get in early and go with friends for the best experience. The food is good
Try the mango pancakes for dessert at yumcha. They are delish!
The quality of King of Kings yum cha is decent, although everything tastes much better when you are starving. Some of the dishes were really good and others were sub par. Would we come back again? Probably, because it’s so convenient from our house
