đŸ€âœšICING HILLâœšđŸ€ @icinghill.brisbane Location: 1 Commercial Rd, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006 Rating: 4/5✹ have been eyeing @icinghill.brisbane for YEARSSSS, and finally got to visit for brunch! they are famous for their desserts i knowww but i heard their brunch was underrated and had to tryđŸ€đŸ„°đŸ€© we got âœšđŸœ: đŸđŸ€ salted egg yolk pasta with prawns ($21): this was soooo packed with salted egg!! very impressed!! many other places advertise their menu items with salted egg but the flavour is very bland or subtle but this is the very opposite!!đŸ„°đŸ€©if you love salted egg you must try this!! pasta was cooked beautifully and the prawns were so fresh and delicious!! visually so beautiful as wellđŸ€©đŸ€€the portion i would say is a little small? but luckily it’s not tooooo expensive as i’ve seen places with the same portion but more pricey~ 🌭🍳breaky dog ($10): this dish was originally $15 but it was their monthly specialđŸ€©đŸ„°incredibly fluffy brioche bun with layers of sautĂ©ed spinach, fluffy egg omelette, two hash browns and a stunning drizzle of spicy mayo this was soooo loaded and filling oh my, such bargain for $10đŸ€©đŸ„ła pretty good dish!!! 🍉watermelon frappe ($6.5): this was so refreshing and delicious!! super super fresh and not sticky sweet or fake like other places~ great for a hot day! 🍊fresh orange ($6): how ADORABLE is this glass?! a freaking light bulb are you kidding, love it, nothing else to say really, you can’t go wrong with a fresh orange, refreshing and yum! conclusion, highly recommend @icinghill.brisbane their quality here is incredible and presentation is đŸ€©đŸ„łunfortunately we were too full from it to try their desserts, but definitely next time!đŸ„°

Order a macha crepe cake for my friend’s birthday, but unfortunately was disrupted by the flood, since some of the roads were blocked, I wouldn’t be able to go and collect the cake on time, the staff is very nice and helped me to freeze the cake for a few days, at last I wasn’t able to collect the cake in city but the staff managed to help me to deliver the cake to cache cache (Rochedale) and my friend helped me to collect it, the cake is so delicious and my friend loves it so much! really appreciate the customer service, and thank you for understanding customer’s difficulties and try to work out the best for us! Highly recommend and will order again soon in the future!

We went Icinghill Cafe' at 1, Commercial Road, Newstead on the weekend for afternoon tea with high expectations as it was highly rated in many places like Facebook. However, our experience was less than ordinary. Waiting time at the counter was around 10 minutes, given we were the only customer at the counter.. One lady at the counter was on the phone for ages, with a few others behind her doing their own things. Then a gentlemen came to serve us after around 10 minutes. We ordered 3 cakes and coffee as you can see in the photo. I think only Durian Cake we've ordered was good, while the rest were much less than ordinary. especially given the price tag they had on it was not cheap as well. My conclusion is there is a lot of room for improvement, especially the service !! It could have not been worse!! Or I should say has to be one of the worse service I have ever experienced in any coffee shop in Brisbane.

Finally visited Icing Hill after having been to their newer sister store Cache Cache a few times. They first came across my radar for their sweet cakes and dessert offerings, but on this visit we were satisfied with just the savoury mains which are equally impressive. Apart for the sweet stuff in the display cabinet, they serve an all-day breakfast menu, a selection of pastries in a separate cabinet, and a range of drinks. There is also a specials menu on the wall. Ordering and payment is at the counter, and there is self-service water plus some newspapers available. I really enjoyed my pasta dish - everything was just cooked perfectly including the texture and char on the prawns, and the fried leek element gave it another dimension of aromatic adornment. Wifey’s choice of eggs benny was really good too - this is not something I’d usually go for but I could appreciate the generous amount of mushroom included and the eggs themselves which were superbly poached. There are a few other variants of the benny croissant with different proteins going up to $21, and you can also switch out the croissant for sourdough or waffle. Saw a few other tables order the Ben Ben Chicken Wings which looked really good too, so I’ve earmarked it for next time. It’s not often you see something that features fermented tofu so if you know what this is you’ll know it’s a punchy element (and maybe a bit of an acquired taste). Our order: * salty egg yolk & king prawn pasta, $21 - spaghettini pasta with curry leaf cream sauce, salty egg yolk, pumpkin, onion, zucchini, garlic, chilli, fried leek * benny croissant with mushroom & halloumi cheese, $18 - fresh baked croissant, baby spinach, apple cider hollandaise sauce, Chinese pickles, chives Notes: * Icing Hill is located on the ground floor of the Broadway on Ann building (apartment block) * There is some customer parking available in the building’s car park (enter from Commercial Rd), however spaces are limited and it was full when I went even though the cafe itself was no more than 50% occupied at the time * You can get 10% when paying with Payo (new users can sign-up with my code EWXG4S to get $10 credit after your first payment)

Got takeaway from Icinghill on a dreary day. Love their cakes. Have tried several and today it was the Basque Cheesecake and Durian Crepe Cake. Both were delicious!
Anthea
Got a mango crepe cake and a sweet taro. Expected very high quality as they were quite pricey and visually aesthetic, however was soon disappointed by the bland flavours and over reliance on cream. Not a good experience, would not recommend.

Went for Christmas brunch. Was nice. The cakes were good and looked very nice! Only downside was the parking, I would suggest finding street parking instead as there are limited and very cramped parking spaces below.

Beautiful delicious desserts and good coffees! A tad pricey but you’re worth it! ❀
Food
What a surprise hidden gem. Really appreciate with the high standard. It's really an enjoyable brunch.

It’s such a cute place to spend time for breakfast and afternoon tea. Their cake taste very yummy and not super sweet and fatty. Love to chill and have a cup of beverage and chatting with friends.

Went here for weekend brunch with the partner.<br/><br/>Tried the Black Sesame Latte (subtle sesame flavour, with a lovely bonus gingerbread biscuit). We ordered the Maple Bacon Croissant (very generous serving of crispy bacon with well-cooked eggs) and Icing Hill Souffle Pancake (very, very generous serving - enough for three to share - of beautifully fluffy souffle pancakes with a not-too-sweet tiramisu flavour). Friendly and efficient service. Please note that the Souffle Pancake takes approximately 30 minutes to prepare as forewarned. Order at the counter (take away available), and self-serve water available. Casual ambience with indoor seating available. Parking appears to available on side of the building. Reasonable prices with generous servings.<br/><br/>Overall, a hidden gem with a good range of brunch options and a counter of beautiful and interesting cakes, of which we will need to return to try.

Great service, beautiful presentation of food and thought into every detail. Food was tasty and fullsome, we had the watermelon cake and breakfast for two. Hubby (who is a BIG eater) was actually full and loved the tomato relish, which I understand is homemade. The babyccino milk came free with our coffees and there is plenty of space for prams. The lady also gave our daughter a cute gingerbread cookie, which is nice as its the xmas season. A bucket of toys and some books for the children, “self serve” water dispenser with lemons and childrens ikea cultery (which my daughter loved, as it allowed her to be independent getting her own plates without fear of breakage!). Would love to visit again to try the other cakes next time we are in brisbane.

Can never go wrong with the durian crepe cake if you’re a durian lover - we always come back for more! The black sesame latte was pretty standard - it tasted like the sesame breakfast drinks we get from Chinese supermarkets! It was our first time trying their soufflĂ© pancakes. 20-30 minutes wait which was decent as it was stated on their menu, however the pancakes were not fluffy and the egg taste was too strong. They were also a little too generous with the creme brĂ»lĂ©e tasting cream which made the pancakes taste a bit sickening towards the end. However, great decor and atmosphere to dine in - very relaxed! Will come back again for the durian crepe next time 😄<br/><br/>There is parking on spot too!

Had my first ever black sesame latte. And the almond croissant. The almond filling had a surprising citrusy flavour and it was delicious. I enjoyed the black sesame latte, too, even though it cooled very quickly. Didn’t scare my away from trying one again in the future. Possibly coming back to try one of the deliciously looking cakes and another latte.

One of the best desserts place in Brisbane. Their crepe cake and match are nice! And I like the atmosphere and decoration here too!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty full. The cakes in the cabinet were very beautiful. I had the classic watermelon cake. It was a bit difficult to eat because the watermelon was not cut into small pieces. Apart from the fact it was a little impractical to eat, the flavour was delicious. I will be back here the next time I am visiting Brisbane!
On The Spork
Located just a few blocks away from the hub of Fortitude Valley, you can find it opposite the Waterloo Hotel. It is right next to a busy road, so it can be quite noisy, but inside, it is a large and open space with lots of seating. You will find a glass cabinet full of exquisite individual cakes and pastries, or they offer an additional menu. For the size and portion, these cakes are a little more affordable than similar cafes. I ordered the Lychee Piggy, which I mainly chose for the novelty aspect. I am not a huge fan of mousse, but cracking through the pink chocolate shell was satisfying enough. For a drink, I chose a Black Sesame Latte; rather than being smooth, it was more grainy which was not pleasant, but all round, Icing Hill is definitely a top contender.

Sunday brunch-ing at Icing Hill was so amazingly good! I’m super impressed by the quality of the cakes as well as the food. The star of the show was the matcha crepe cake, it was so incredibly fresh and flavourful. The crepes were so thin and just melted in my mouth. Icing hill also sells whole cakes for birthdays etc, so I’ll definitely be ordering one soon. <br/>The icing hill breakfast was also super tasty and fresh, I especially enjoyed the chutney that it was served with. <br/>Lastly, the long awaited earl grey soufflĂ© pancakes. Before we ordered they informed us the wait was 50 min, as it’s made fresh. When I tasted the fluffiness of the pancakes it was totally worth the wait. It was served with pearls, ice cream and grilled bananas. It felt like a cloud of happiness. Such a great end to an amazing meal. <br/><br/>I’ll be back again for sure :)

I have Durian CrĂȘpe Cake on my mind as we walk in after lunch. But when Phuong Tran sees “La Rose” her mind is made up. I ask for a double shot Latte and our dessert and coffee is served in three minutes. <br/><br/>This Latte is super strong, almost like an Espresso and tastes like a quadruple shot! The La Rose is mostly whipped cream with a center of mashed apple. A tad underwhelming!

Cute cafe located in the heart of Fortitude valley, serving up a wide range of cakes and breakfast/lunch dishes.<br/><br/>We ordered the watermelon cake which was delicious! And the egg and maple bacon croissant is a must, crispy bacon with sweet maple syrup through out the croissant definitely made it very enjoyable<br/><br/>

This place’s located near Newstead area and has a really bright and cute ambience. That cute pink corner really grab everyone’s attention and was my favourite place to sit :)<br/><br/>Tried the Icing Hill Breakfast and the cakes. Icing Hill Breakfast came with quite large portion with poached eggs, bacon, sausage, sourdough bread, hash brown, and halloumi. It’s the classic breakfast meal and could rarely go wrong with the combinations. The poached eggs was good, the halloumi’s bit burnt but still tasted quite nice. <br/><br/>Also tried the rose watermelon cake and matcha crepe cake. The rose watermelon cake used slice of watermelon that’s quite hard to break down. It tasted pretty good, but a tad too sweet for me. I prefer matcha crepe cake. The cake was smooth and creamy, filled with not-too-sweet matcha flavour in every layers. Overall, it was a aesthetically pleasing cafe with beautiful and tasty dishes :)

My sister and I came for lunch, was fully disappointed with their lattes but happy with the Breakfast for two.<br/>As you can see form the photo, the “blue mermaid latte” was looking bad already when it hit our table. Both lattes tasted so bad we had 2 sips each and that was it.<br/>The food was good tho especially the hash brown and tomato sauce.
Mion
Mango crepe cake, not over the top sweet and is very light and fluffy. Thoroughly enjoyed it! Cute interior design and provided with water. Wish they had metal extra forks instead of plastic ones though
Hel
it’s a really nice place to catch up with friends.we ordered different dishes and it’s quite delicious<br/>there also offer lovely cakes I would really recommend watermelon cake. definitely back there next time
Jenny
Delicious watermelon cake and the staff are very friendly. The sharing breakfast for two is really nice with good quality ingredients. The tomato salsa is just delicious! Coffee is also quite nice. Will be back for more!

Food was good and environment was clean and nice .However , we are being served by the most unfriendly staff, the lady who took our order was so rude, and didn’t even greet and smile. The business will killed by her. I was questioning her about where is the toilet and her answer was only “ someone is using! “, then she has no longer answer anything else and being very unhappy . Is that so difficult to tell people where’s the toilet? I think she need training for the service. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to this place unless this lady is no longer working in this cafe . Ps ; she has a lot of freckles on her full arm , medium long hair , small eyes, and angry face.<br/><br/>That’s okay for Not smiling , yet please don’t talk to customers like owing her a lot money. Not happy please don’t work . <br/>I assumed she ruined many people’s mood and day . Such a shamed .

This Beautiful cafe gets a 5 out of 5 from me. <br/><br/>Firstly, if your gram is ever looking weak, you need to pay this place a visit! Such an aesthetically pleasing cafe, with beautiful colours and has a really nice positive vibe.I didn't experiment too much on the menu, but i did have a delicious bacon and egg Bagel which i added sriracha sauce for an extra kick. For the money i spent i was very pleasantly surprised! Coffee was nice and strong and had a good flavour to it. All in all a lovely venue, and a nice experience and Instagram GOLD!!! :D

Decor and menu were great. We did wait over 30mins for a cooked meal to come out, and the drinks took even longer, arriving well after the hot food, with one small water glass amount of ice chai, then a mermaid latte 15 minutes after. When we arrived it was not vey busy so not sure what was happening in the drinks department that took so long... also noticed a few table around us receive their drinks at inconsistent times. Not one apology for the delay. In the end we had to get the mermaid latte takeaway as we didn't have the time to sit there any longer to enjoy the drink

We experienced really great service! The staff and chef welcomed us when we arrived. The cakes were absolutely delicious!!! We ordered the durian and mango mousse cake, durian crepe cake, taro cake and raspberry tart. They were all sooooo good!!! As a lover of durian, I really love how the durian flavour was so strong. Its hard to rank all 4 desserts cos they were all so delicious! For drinks, we ordered ice mocha, ice matcha latte and black sesame latte. My dining partners enjoyed their drink. The coffee in the mocha was strong, but it was lacking chocolate flavour.

Lovely people and beautiful food. I especially enjoyed the squid ink spaghetti and the durian mouse cake, rich and flavoursome. However the sauce of char-Sou omelette is too salty, even though it comes with a piece of sourdough. And Matcha crepe is beautiful but the crepe itself is too soft. Overall it was a good experience, and will definitely be back and try other dishes.

I have no problem to give full mark to this café due to the fact that the ambience, service and food are all above average. Such nice contemporary lay-out with beautiful cakes and full-on menu (varieties of dishes offering is very competitive to some renowned cafes in Brisbane) is not easily be found in Brisbane. Coffee's strength and smoothness are just perfectly matched my palate. Rainbow omelette is my dreaming dish of brekkie so far (reasonable price with nice inspiration). The burst feeling of flying fishing roes is so interesting and I urge other foodies must give it a go. I will definitely go back for high tea for the purpose of exploring those beautiful cakes in the display cabinet. Overall, thumb-up!

Quiet cafe with just enough tables so it doesn't feel packed. Cool and calming vibes and friendly staff. My husband and I both ordered their big breakfast and both our dishes were really faultless. Great serving size, great elements - all fresh and seasoned well. The chef even came out to ask us if everything was okay and no doubt it was better than okay! Was really impressed on my first visit here and definitely wouldn't be my last.

I decided to go here because of their interesting menu on my last night shift. The parking can be found directly behind the restaurant, you may have to circle the block if you're coming in from the wrong direction. The restaurant interior is super cute, has a little play are for kids and you can watch them making cakes as you wait. I took a few photos of their display cabinet on the day that I went. <br/><br/>For my drink, I got the summer fruit black tea. It had some lemon, and lime slices with a super sour strawberry on the lip. The tea itself was quite tannic and not heavily sweetened, it was also still a touch warm. <br/><br/>I got the Icing Hill basket, a medley of fried food including beer battered chips, fish fillet, chicken popcorn, curry croquette, tempura prawns, takoyaki, vegetable stick and two sauces, wasabi mayonnaise and sweet chilli sauce. It usually comes with a spring roll but they ran out, at 8am on a Saturday morning? But I digress. <br/><br/>I mean I love fried foods and it was technically my dinner but it was a bit much. I feel like a more acidic/sour sauce than a creamy wasabi mayonnaise would help cut through the greasiness of this meal. Or a wedge of lemon! I dunno, it was a bit much. Chips were great, fish wasn't bad, I love takoyaki and popcorn chicken but the vegetable stick killed me. At first, it tasted like a creamy croquette but as it got colder, it started to soak in oil and it was just overpoweringly oily. Something similar happened to the prawns so I left them alone. <br/><br/>After a bit of recovery, I decided to get a cake. A mistake for sure because I'm not a fan of sweets and are intensely lactose intolerant to cream. I foolishly ordered the matcha and red bean crepe cake, super thin layers of crepe, dusted with matcha and a lightly sweetened layer of mashed red beans and cream alternating. Not my favourite breakfast, everything I ordered was a bit of a dud. Your mileage may vary??

I’ve been wanting to try this cafe as I’ve seen many beautiful photos of their cake all over my social media. I’ve always searched for a cafe that sells Asian style cakes (what I mean by Asian style cakes are things like taro sponge cake, fruit sponge cake, etc. etc.). I know that they do sell them at Sunnybank but I really wished that there would be a place where we can sit down and chat with a cup of coffee or tea. I thought that Icing Hill Cafe would be the perfect spot as they not only sell beautiful looking cakes but also beverages like teas, coffees and juices. The cafe was very spacious and they have decorated it very nicely with simple flowers and pastel coloured decorations.

Fantastic! All I can say they tick all the boxes. Free on-site undercover parking, amazing interior (my son was happy roaming around, they even have some children toys to keep them entertained), great service and amazing cakes. We tried the durian cake and was pleasantly surprised. We could really taste the Durian. Their watermelon cake was tasty as well. We will be back to try their breakfast (The table next to us order breakfast and it looked fantastic). Keep up the good work!

Didn’t managed to take a pic of the waffle but it was very nice!! <br/>They had a lot of choices for the cakes. The taste of the cakes were still ok.

This has been one of our regular cafes ever since it started. :) Very chic decor, good air conditioning (hey, it's a big plus in the summer!), lovely display of cakes, good mains, and the all-important late kitchen closing time - 3pm on Saturday and Sunday.<br/><br/>Their menu is an eclectic mix of East and West - culminating in some pretty original dishes like scrambled eggs topped with flying fish roe, or french toast made with banana bread. Drinks are fairly innovative as well, and my orange juice was served in a literal lightbulb! <br/><br/>The cakes are lovely, and the watermelon cake especially is a beauty to behold, but personally I would have preferred the watermelon to be added to the cake mix, rather than standard sponge cake with layers of watermelon fruit in between. The mille crepes have a bit too much cream in between the layers IMO, but they are still a welcome treat - not many cafes serving those around the city as far as I'm aware.<br/><br/>Will certainly keep on returning.
Eva Lee
They do beautiful cakes! the shop also does freshly squeezed juices, and they are served in a gigantic light bulb. Very friendly staff, and they also have toys for little kids. It is located on the ground floor of a serviced apartment, so if you need to use the bathroom you actually need to go into the building. Would come back for the cake, and it is just across the road to the Emporium, plenty of food choices in the area.

Definitely should be 5 star experience. I went to ice hill cafe from gold coast. And tried my favourite big breakfast and mocha latte, also the cute cakes. All food are perfact. 💕

Recently heard lots of this cafe, we were looking forward to visiting Icing Hill Cafe. We arrived in the last afternoon, and there was only few customers sitting in. Stepping in and looking around for a while, there was no one bothered to offer help though there were 1 staff making drinks, 1 staff walking around and 4 staff inside making dessert. Eventually a staff without a smile came out to the counter where we had to place our order. The $10 weekday special for a cake and coffee was a good value offer. <br/><br/>Our drinks were served a few minutes later. Both the matcha latte and black sesame latte were just warm; we helplessly couldn't enjoy them. In fact, the matcha was nice with its smooth milk texture, but the black sesame was watery and weak. <br/><br/>While waiting for our cakes, we were observing the cafe and its service. Not many customers but the service was quite slow and unwelcoming. A lady was standing at the counter around 5 minutes and again no one served her. Our drinks had gone cold and the cakes weren't served yet. We went to the counter trying to get someone's attention, and the staff who took our order asked us if we wanted our cakes now, so ?????? It didn't make any sense that our drinks were served without our cakes. Why couldn't she just apologise that she had forgotten it? We finally got a matcha-red bean crepe cake and an opera. They both looked gorgeous; disappointingly their taste wasn't as good as how they looked. The crepe cake tasted nothing but cream though it's texture was nice and soft. The opera was way too sweet, nothing else. <br/>
Lenny
Had the Durian mango mousse here the other day and it was absolutely amazing! The match crepe cake wasn't all great, it got a bit sickening after a while and wouldn't recommend if you are lactose intolerant. Would come back again for the Durian specialties.
Charlie Jenn Lian Ng
They do one of the best desserts in town!<br/>Good flavour combination but not excessively sweet. <br/><br/>Devoured the cakes upon serving, didn’t even have the chance to take photos 😂<br/>Cakes I would recommend:<br/>-rose watermelon cake (their signature cake, MUST try!)<br/>-taro chiffon cake<br/>-durian crepe cake (if you’re adventurous enough)<br/><br/>Ordered their avo on sourdough too, very generous serving!!!
DianaW
I was passing by here & was drawn in by the beautiful sweet display. Perfect looking creations, but I wanted coffee as I already had my sweet treat moments earlier at Botanica. Which was a shame for me as the creations on display were masterpieces of art. What they tasted like evidently have mixed reviews on here so will have to have a return visit to try. The coffee was delivered promptly in a pretty cup with a gold spoon. tasted creamy & was strong enough for me as I had three quarter milk in my flat white. The place was packed incidentally if that offers any idea of product

We had high hopes for Icing Hill, especially after looking at the watermelon cake. Unfortunately I found the food quite average. We ordered 2 slices of watermelon cake, 1 matcha crepe, 2 matcha lattes, 1 chai latte and 1 durian cake (not pictured). The watermelon cake had good flavours but the watermelon pieces were too hard, it was impossible to cut it with a fork without having the whole cake collapse. The matcha crepe looked great but the red beans to matcha ratio was a bit off, we could barely tasted matcha because the red beans were so over-powering. I reckon 1 less layer of red beans would have been perfect :). Probably depending on personal taste but our matcha latte was super strong and bitter, and the chai latter wasn't too memorable. The durian cake was fluffy and yum, definitely the most enjoyable item from the cafe. The customer service was exceptional, pity about the desserts that didn't suit our palate. We especially appreciated the manager/owner coming out talking to us, hopefully the food is more to other customers' tastes. :)

Having read the other reviews I initially wasn't sure whether to make the drive out or not. But I really enjoyed my morning working at Icing Hill Café.<br/><br/>The cafe is located at the street level of a relatively new block of apartments. <br/>In terms of parking, there's free 4 hour parking for visitors with the entrance on Commercial road. If you go onto Ann St, you have to loop around again and may find it a little difficult to do so since Ann St is one way. After parking at the basement level, I'm not sure how to get back up besides walking up the ramp which some may find a little steep / dangerous. <br/><br/>Although the fit out doesn't immediately stand out, there are lots of pretty details and all the food looks pretty, especially the dessert cabinet. The music is the background is jazzy/chill, my kind of music hopefully they can have a longer playlist though. I think it cycled a few times in the 2 hours I was there.<br/><br/>I was so happy to see they had tea from Lupicia, my favorite brand. I ordered the Momo (peach) Oolong tea and Durian Mousse Cake which looked like a bun and came in a mini streamer.<br/><br/>The tea was beautifully presented and smelt awesome as expected. Some crushed rose petals were served with it too, making the aroma really good. It's not particularly cheap though but great quality.<br/><br/>The Durian cake definitely smelt like Durian. It was light and sweet with Durian flavour. <br/><br/>The toilets are located in the ground floor of the apartment building. You need the swipe key from the staff. Once you go through the lobby doors, go straight to the garbage room (there's an added Restroom sign on the door). Once you go through the door, the unisex toilet/shower is the first door to the left. To get out from the garbage room area, use the key to get out. <br/><br/>Although the desserts have a distinct Asian twist, the food menu is pretty standard brunch / lunch fare. There is a kids menu and a few kids toys around. IKEA high chairs are also used.<br/><br/>I think it was worth my drive from the Southside. Looking forward to trying more from the menu.<br/><br/>

Watermelon cake was great, it was the highlight of the party. Service was exceptional and staff was very friendly. Thanks for helping us out at such short notice (called at 8am - luckily they were in midst of baking it) Will spread the word if it hasn't already gone viral in fb

Went for the durian crepe (if you like durian YOU MUST TRY) and the watermelon rose cake which is so much better than the Blackstar pastry version. The black sesame latte was also nice but a little sweet for my liking.
Cheryl
Very fancy decoration on the cake but very plain taste. The matcha red bean crepe cake is too watery;<br/>We also ordered the Swiss roll, beautiful looking but even the sponge cake tastes really bad itself.<br/>

New kid in town😍😍😁, was super excited to try out this cafe and if you wonder why it's because they have Durian Crepe Cake😁😁- the texture is soft and the moment they brought the cake to me, you can actually smell the durian😋😋 and when you eat it, you can taste the durian meat🍰🍰🍰, my new favorite cake place😁

Icing Hill, the trade name speaks out to me instantly "Sweets Parlour here!!!" - A new establishment making a mark in the Emporium area, serving up patisserie delights, brunch and espressos. I was suggested to come here by a friend, who told me their Watermelon Cake and Green Tea Red Bean Crepes are very popular. I was intrigued, so ofcourse I made my way there this morning. How could I forget, the true struggles of finding a parking space in the Valley/Emporium area... it just had to be two rounds of driving before I could finally claim a spot (Y'all know I got a thing with parking etc.) <br/><br/>The cafe was furnished with nice hues giving comfort to the eyes. Wooden benches, clean white chairs and pastel coloured lighting. A spacious cafe with an all so simple and minimalistic design.<br/><br/>The cabinet displayed a variety of delicious slices as well as whole cakes available for purchase. After checking out the cabinet and finalising my decisions, I queued up to make an order to-go. My order consisted of Vanilla Slice, Green Tea Red Bean Crepe, Watermelon Cake and an Apple Cheese Cake. Everyday begins with a coffee, so I've gone with a Flat White today.<br/><br/>Coffee - Served hot to the hand which is always a -thumbs up- for me. However, the downside would be my first sip tasted like steamed milk more so than a caffeinated beverage. Unfortunately, it didn't do the job of giving me that boost of morning awakeness.<br/><br/>Sweets - Starting off with the Green Tea Red Bean Crepe, consisting layers of thin pastry, green tea cream and red bean filling. The pastry was soft and I enjoyed the inclusion of red beans, however, the green tea flavour was very weak. <br/><br/>Vanilla Slice - I must admittedly say this was a disappointing one. The mille-feuille was not flaky nor crispy, it was hard, burnt, and uncuttable with a spoon. Filling only consisted of custard cream and had no hints of vanilla bean. The custard was not smooth either. It seems as if the slice was not fresh at all. Unfortunately, this was not to my liking. <br/><br/>Watermelon Cake - The sponge used for this slice had an interesting texture, soft yet dry at the same time. The vanilla flavour filling was nice but when it came to the watermelon layer, I did not expect to cut through an actual chunk of melon (I would have preferred this to be made into a puree form instead (in my opinion). <br/><br/>Apple Cheese Cake - layered with sponge on the bottom, cheese and apple puree. Possibly one I enjoyed the most out of the four. The cheese was smooth and the (possibly green apple) puree gave the cake a sour tang which was a nice combo đŸ™ŒđŸ»<br/><br/>Despite all, presentation of everything was lovely. Staff were friendly but service could be a tad faster. Their breakfast looks appetising, will consider to return and give those a try :)

Those who follow foodies on instagram will no doubt have noticed the abundance of photos from the recently opened Icinghill in Fortitude Valley. Boasting quite a range of Asian style cakes (such as the watermelon strawberry cake and matcha crepe cake), I made firm plans to try it out last weekend. Like bugs drawn to a lamp, we were captivated by the cakes on offer. They had a large variety on display, including fruity options like apple cheesecake and strawberry watermelon cake, as well as opera cake and matcha crepe cake.

Tried this cafe for the first time. The design of the cafe if fantastic. The cakes are so yummy and the owners are really friendly as well. Definitely coming back to this cafe and will recommend to my friends too.

Nice cafe, yummy cakes, and really friendly owner. The watermelon cake is really refreshing and durian cake is awesome. Definitely will come back to try their brunch.

Finally decided to head into this recently opened cafe and try the watermelon cake. Light, fluffy and refreshing with the right amount of sweetness. Everything is beautifully presented, you can tell they look after every little detail. Will come back to try all the other delectable offerings.

Wonderful breakfast gathering on a quiet Sunday where finding a decent cafe can be a task in itself.<br/><br/>Attentive service, with breakfast platter and coffee done perfect. Cakes didn't disappoint, as icinghill had its beginnings catering cakes for birthdays and weddings. Love the Matcha-red bean crepe cake for presentation and balanced palate of matcha, red bean and crepe.<br/><br/>Will be coming back to try the other winter menu items. Would be great if they extended their fresh juice offerings, but otherwise an all-rounded coffee shop.<br/><br/>Good for groups of 3-8 people. Using Square payment so great for Paywave/ Paypass/ Apple Pay and split billing welcomed.
