Review Just Earth - Brisbane

Excellent experience! I have always found it hard to find cafes that do both healthy breakfasts and good coffee well, the combo is quite hard to come by in Brisbane I have found . But Just Earth are a rare exception as they nail it! On my last visit I had the special - free range organic eggs w/ roast pumpkin, avocado, mixed seeds and salsa Verde. Not something I would usually order, but the chef highly recommended it and it was spot on! Washed it all down with a nice long black as I watched the highly entertaining Barista play air guitar between making coffee's. Bravo Just Earth

Despite being run off their feet on the EKKA show day, the staff were friendly and helpful. Food was very good and a vegan benny version with beetroot hummus was concocted for us. Nothing seemed too much trouble. The coffee was good and quick too.

My family and I had the most gorgeous brunch here over the weekend. Great service, amazing food, went out of their way to look after my gluten free kids.

Terrible food, setting is decrepit table dirty service non existent. Had made a booking for Mother's Day out the back for children as advertised a playground. Fence blocking children in fell down from a child touching it. Orders mucked up. Ordered almond coffee waited over an hour no almond milk said someone went to buy some still no almond milk. Had to ask twice then asked for something else. Meal sizes very small for a high price. Nothing like the photos. Dirty and unclean. Surprisingly the toilets were the cleanest part.

Such a cute cafe. It has a rustic hip charm. Very Melbourne in style, with its pieces of modern equipment artfully installed and a simple fit out that just reveals the old workers cottage style. Coffee is the bomb and food is excellent. The staff are a delight and I love that I can bring my kids and relax with a very good coffee while they play.

I really wanted to like this place. The coffee was on point so I guess I would come back, but only for that. Service was a little bit shambles, we ordered coffee as soon as we arrived but it didn't come out until just before our meals. There was only one other table in our section but the server came and went about three times before taking our order, despite our menus sitting in a pile at the edge of the table, clearly indicating that we had made our decisions. We're vegan which is why we came here but the meals were just not quite there. Half my mushrooms were cooked to perfection but the other half was still quite raw. The vegan pancakes were more like the texture of cake so the name was a bit misleading. They were nice enough, but not pancakes. And yes, you can do vegan pancakes well, there are other places nearby who nail them. Also the bananas were quite plain and although the presentation was nice, still came out in the peels... I love the concept of this place but unfortunately today they've just missed the mark. Hopefully these are just teething issues but I for one won't be back for more than coffee.

We had such a lovely Father's Day breakfast here. Love the kids play area. Service was great. Awesome coffee and we are still enjoying the beans we took home. Great range of meals. Thank you.

We stopped by Just Earth Friday morning, January 18th, 2019 after they had been closed for the holidays for about a month (since December). We were back in Brisbane after being gone for four months and were excited to eat their delicious food! However, when we got there at 8:15 am (they opened at 6 am), we were informed there were no menus, and not many food options as they had just opened after being closed for so long. It was truly disappointing. As a small business, it begged the question as to why no one went on a grocery run the day before and prepared for re-opening— they did re-open on a Friday after all and the owner had a whole week to get ingredients if needed. Or better yet, the cafe had already been open for over two hours, so supplies could have been picked up then too, even a temporary menu could have been written up. It was highly disorganized on their part. There was no thought for the customers and the customers are who keep these small businesses open and running. Just Earth used to be one of our favourite places to eat. After this experience we will not be going back.

I was attracted to this cafe by the large coffee roaster in the window. I wasn't disappointed by the coffee or service. I also had their in house made chocolate almond cake which was delicious, gluten free and vegan.  I picked up a bag of coffee beans for home which we are enjoying. I'll be going back next time I'm in West End.

We thoroughly enjoyed our morning here last Sunday. The kids enjoyed the play castle and they have some trikes and kids costumes too.  Breakfasts were excellent and the coffee is to die for.

Very good cafe.  Outstanding coffee and friendly service. The kids play space is a godsend.  I can get caffeinated and the kids are happy. My only complaint is they used to make the best felafel bowls, felafel's were crispy on the outside, moist and fluffy on the inside and gluten free! Please bring them back guys.

Love this cafe. Such great food and I've been to some great workshops here. Always good coffee  too. Try the mushroom bruschetta or the nuevo rancho.

Excellent menu, coffee to die for, and fresh juices, excellent service. it's quirky west end ...we really enjoyed this place.      Would definitely recommend it.

Drove past this cafe many times, not until mid Nov. last year then I noticed its existence (what a shame!). Walked in and attracted by the coffee roaster sitting behind the counter and the serious attitude of the barista. Ordered a flat white and went to take a seat at the back. Wow! A nice relaxed ambience with beautiful wall paintings. Importantly, the coffee really matches my taste bud with good punch. Highly recommended😋

Great little find ..hip and cool ..rustic charm..understated ..perhaps a bit too grungy for some ...it's not a high end place..although they are dishing out top notch food, service and coffee

Loved this quirky spot.  Fresh and tasty buddah bowls and acai bowls, great coffee, excellent service. They were really busy and still quick and friendly. I was impressed.

What i love about this cafe is the rustic and relaxed vibe, the simple yet deceiving menu that comes out with so much more than expected and the flavours are so delicious. I love the back area for kids, the fresh juices and the overall healthy menu.

This place is deceivingly bigger than it looks with a seating area at the side & back. Rustic homely looking place with good coffee which definitely needs a double shot to bring out all the tones in the roast. Lots of vegan goodies & healthy stuff which suited my needs. Ordered the avocado which came with pumpkin hommous, seeds & dukkah. They put balsamic glaze on which it didn't really need in my opinion. Presented well though

It was a quaint little cafe that is bigger than it looks. My friend and I thought that it was full but then we realised they had a backyard seating area as well. The coffee was rather average and the food was decent, but it wasn't anything amazing. There was also a rather long wait for the food. Service was good. I wouldn't make an intentional visit to go back there again, but I wouldn't mind going back.

After ordering food and coffee, we waited 40 minutes for the drinks to arrive while sitting surrounded by dirty tables. It was raining and we were seated outside in the covered area, but when it got to an hour and still no meals, the sliding covering opened up. Understandably, not their fault, but the owner saw this all happen, smiled, and walked away back inside. When we asked for our food to be refunded and cancelled, we were told the explanation for the long meal times, apparent disinterest to the customers from the owner, and the mess was that they are a "summer cafe". A bit confused by this as we seem to have visited in summer, and during what any other cafe would call a quiet meal service. Oh well. There was a cute dog next to our table though.

Misleading: <br/>They are on facebook advertising childminding and creative play as you plug in your laptop. <br/>I invited 6 parents to come and text it out. Our children are only 9 months old so we were expecting to be sitting with them in this Creche. <br/><br/>Reality: <br/>Not baby friendly at all<br/>No childminding just a member of staff that dabbles in reading a story or two in between making coffees. <br/>Not very shady<br/>Looks like a dumping ground full of school tables <br/><br/>I don’t recommend this place. <br/>Coffee was nice though ( hence the generous 2.5 rating) <br/><br/>

Atmosphere and vibes: chill and relaxing, greatly amused by the playground scene, and backyard dining was nice for a good to talk and catchup with friends. (4/5)<br/><br/>Food + Service: Organic and clean. I ordered a traditional vego breakfast, and my friend a house salad. Each ordered drinks, herself a freshly squeezed juice and myself a iced soy latte. Staff were quite accomodating, and it did not take long for our food to come out. Presentation was quite beautiful; however, food was generally average-tasting. The proportions were enough to fill our bellies, but a little pricey than I would have liked. Overall, not the best place I've been to eat in west end. Iced Coffee was quite lovely though, if a little weak. My friend commented the juice and salad were both very fresh, so there's a testament to the freshness of the food they used to prepare our meals. (3/5)

Love this place! It has become on of my favorite coffee and breakfast spots in west end. We like sitting out the front and watching the eclectic mix of people that kick around west end while we caffeinate. The eggs Benny was spot on! And they use free range organic eggs!

Strolled in at 6:30 this morning and the place was alive and kicking. They had two of their own in house roasted blends in the grinders one their house blend and the other a dark espresso blend of their single origins from PNG and Colombia. I had a long black and it was superb. <br/>Easy going atmosphere and I sat at the old church pew which makes up part of their eclectic furniture and watched west end awaken.

Meatballs And Beef Cheeks
Lady Meatball took me to one of her and Mini Meatball's favourite West End hideouts.<br/><br/>Good coffee (3.5), wholesome food options - lots of natural and organic - and a nice vibe. The aircon blows cold and there is a great fenced courtyard and playhouse for kids out back.<br/><br/>Good bacon (3.5) served on a seeded sourdough toast from SOL Breads (3.5).<br/><br/>Lots of reasons to return, but best coffee in the area is Blackstar!<br/><br/>

Went in planning to try some single origin, have breakfast and buy a bag of coffee.<br/>Paid, and walked out after 1 coffee.<br/>"Barista" (and it really does deserve inverted commas) couldn't answer any questions about blends. None. Wasn't even sure which coffee was in the grinder. She "thought" it was Ethiopian, but didn't know for sure.<br/>Was told kitchen would open in 15 minutes, no problem but 20 mins after that 15 minutes, staff are still talking like they're in an episode of Orange is the New Black, totally ignoring me, not taking my order. I ended up nearby, happy to wait 30 minutes for their kitchen to open as at least they are professional.<br/>So disappointing. I wanted to like this place. I did.<br/>I don't.

Very relaxing, welcoming atmosphere -- my vege breakfast was delicious and wholesome. Love the eclectic, earthy style and peaceful courtyard with instagram-worthy murals -- an establishment with a lot of character and integrity.

Love this place! Fantastic food, great coffee and supporting fair food and trade. Lovely relaxed West End vibe. The veggie breakfast and in house roasted coffee hit the spot. I run a cafe on the Northside and know good when I see it. Great work folks.

An inspiring concept of sustainability and fair food - but also wonderful coffee! Lovely it is, to sit in the back garden and sip an organic latte, and it's great to see that the owners and staff are dedicated to their ethics, not just parading labels for a niche market.
Ronny Walken
Great vibe and killer coffee, traditional breakfast hits the spot too. WiFi means that I've made the place my regular office-away-from-office.
