Review Caffe Di Moda - Brisbane

Dr Caroline Mobsby
I went here and had the most beautiful coffee and cake. The staff were a delight as well and as for location you can't get much better. My friend ordered coffee and cake too but her card declined and the staff member simply said `pay is next time you're here `. Thankyou Cafe Di Moda, you rock! šŸ™‚

I hate to do this, I am never one to actually complain but we Arrived at 7:01 am ordered 2 ice coffees, a simple avocado and bacon on toast and fritters with poached eggs. It is now 8:03 am and we still have not received our meals and our ice coffees came out only about 20 mins ago!!!! After I had to ask for them. We were offered a free drink for the wait i declined . One meal was finally brougt out an hour and 10 mins after ordering and the eggs and fritters were cold, as if they had pulled them out of the fridge. The other meal was still no where in sight. We decided that after the externally long wait and the fact that the food we had been waiting for was stone cold that we would not wait around for the second meal and that we were not happy and left. The lady came out after us and demanded we pay for our drinks..... which she did offer us free ones extra but declined. I would not recommend this place to any one service was terrible.

Very well service, good coffee, good price

A once very good cafe has been replaced with a grubby exterior and poor food. There is a reason why you pay upfront because the breakfast I received was terrible and I certainly wouldnā€™t have paid for it. Old and meagre salad, tiny, undercooked zucchini fritters, awful. A waitress that could not understand our request for ā€œtomato sauce pleaseā€. Old and dirty furniture and floor. Poor signage. I took my breakfast back to the counter to be met with a blank stare and no offer of anything else. If the staff, manager and chief do not like feeding people then make way for others. There are many other cafes in the area that deserve your patronage.

One of my favorite lunch spots in Stones Corner and trust me, working in the area I've tried something from virtually every cafe there. Love the lunch specials, particularly the Lamb Salad and Awesome pasta. Yes, it's called "Awesome Pasta"! Haha. The girls are lovely and friendly, and are genuinely concerned when they haven't seen me for a while. I don't know if that's a good thing though. Lol.

Took forever to make 3 hot drinks, in spite of not being very busy. The strawberry cheesecake had no strawberries in it at all, just some toxic strawberry topping poured all over the top which was inedible (sent it back). The chai tea was great, coffee bitter, hot chocolate cold....ā˜¹

Well here we are. Back at this cafe that we have been to for the past 14 years or so. Started to revisit after a slight break away. We have been having breakie once a week for some weeks now. I must say that the place has been lacking some spit and polish with creaky and unbalanced tables. Menus need a total review. Hard to follow and work out what's available and when. It is with a heavy heart I have to review my 4 star rating. Orders are not taken or executed properly. Items missing off the dishes as written. This has been frequent and not just once off. The prices are ok mostly. The food is very hit and miss. The staff are friendly enough but there seems to be confusion between the fact that you need to place and pay for orders first at the counter. Or they decide to do table service and pay later. Both seem to be an option. Unless this is just because of our frequency of our visits. Is it time for a new old favourite or will we hold and pray someone has a bit of a revelation. Will wait and see. Cheers

I never seen smaller portion of apple pie in my life, cost $6.95. I felt insulted, ripped off. People usually working hard for their money. Shame on you Caffe di Moda.

I used to come here regularly but hadn't been for about 9 months. Very disappointed at the now very limited menu and drop in quality. The bacon and egg burger was uninspiring. I've had better at county petrol stations. This is not what you expect from Stones Corner.

We have been to Dimoda a few times when we have wanted a cheap, fast breakfast when we have our dog Thor in toe. They are more than happy to allow you to sit with your dog under the table! We usually get their Dimoda breakfast deal which includes a free coffee, but they usually charge usĀ a little extra to change it to tea or an ice coffee. It's not fantastic andĀ more than a little greasy, but for the price you can't expect much more. There are plenty more "foodie" options in Stones Corner so we'd only recommend Dimoda if you're looking for a budget-friendly option.

Been here a few times now and staff are friendly and attentive.Ā Meals are good value and tasty.Ā A good range to choose for breakky or lunch or afternoon tea.Ā Not open for dinner.Ā Easy off street 2hr free parking behind the shops (entrance in Cleveland St).Ā Occasionally you might be lucky to find one out front.Ā Lovely alfresco dining.Ā Chemist and Aldi just inside to pick up your essentials after your meal!

Shocking service steak was blue 1.5 hrs before meal arrived. They kept saying sorry so busy this morning. I said that's fine but you only have 2 customers now at it's 1pm

Don't order the corn and zucchini fritters, such a waste of money! Serving size is tiny, fritters are cold tasteless and rubbery, you will be left hungry and sad after spending $14. Coffee is consistently awful too. Management makes no effort to even respond to negative feedback and as such I am no longer a customer.

This cafe just located at the entrance of Stones Corner Shopping Centre, so handy to park my car and drop in for a cup of coffee. I like the service there with sweet smiling from the waitresses. You know, sometimes, wait-staffs do not like you to be there too early in the morning since they may not be recovered from the late night. I love the coffee there and also like to watch peoples walking pass while I am sipping the coffee. It is so relax and makes my day.

Don't wait. Went for breakfast Boxing Day. Long wait no ice for frappe but didn't bother to tell us as we sat waiting over half hour for mediocre eggs benedict - packet ham at Xmas time!! Was feeling sympathetic for them working on a holiday until I realised there were 4 wait staff and at least 2 in the kitchen. Smart people at next table left before their orders arrived.

Yum. Breakfast here is beautiful, very good prices, lovely service and good coffee, definitely recommend don't be put off by the low % I'm really not sure why it is so low as I have been back many times.

One of the yummiest breakfasts in a while. Eggs benny with bacon yesterday -yum. Hubby had the Di Moda and enjoyed it. Reasonably priced, coffee was spot on. Highchairs available for the young ones. Service was pleasant and quick.

Fantastic coffee that won't cost you a fortune. Cafe Di Moda offers a great menu, I love their salads and breakfast menu. Very friendly staff and always value for money.

BEST CAFFE IN STONES CORNER!!. The coffee they make is simply the best in stones corner!! Lunch menu is quite different compared to the past, I will recommend the pork belly burger and black angus beef burger, porpular and tasty. Though I sometimes wait longer for food on weedends when the shop is packed, it is understandable and after all the quality of food and service is unbeatable.

Unpleasant. Nearly everything at this place tastes pre-made, not fresh at all and nothing special. Can make everything at home better and cheaper. Should really hire more staff and get more cups and cutlery. There weren't any cups available when needed and when they were, it was boiling hot straight out from the dishwasher. The owners' aren't genuinely sincere, forces waitresses to constantly stand outside to hard-sell customers and passer-by's into their cafe, this is not china! People will spontaneously come in if the food was decent. Go somewhere else.

Bunt milk most disgusting coffee I've ever had in my life not to mention i asked for soy being allergic to it after drinking it they told me they put it on full cream, not runny eggs on eggs Benny never coming back worst 'cafe' ever

Caffe Di Moda - Greenslopes, Brisbane. Part of the scene which was re-emerged Stone's Corner from being moribund to a happening place, this cafe attracts a lot of al fresco clientele. While far from being amongst the best breakfasts that I have had out, it did enough aspects of the meal and service well enough to be considered good. Everything here was functioning very well and at a good enough rate to warrant that quality work was being put into the cooking.

It would not be a breakfast for me if I did not order myself a coffee - double cappuccino. They made it really well; it was not burnt at all, had the flavour of a good cup of coffee sans the oft-associated bitterness.

Opting first for a blackboard special, which was a pulled pork burger, I found out that it was only available after a certain time. It was done with apologetic politeness, thus after another perusal of the menu I settled on the item "Hunger Buster".
A way to describe it is that has similarities to an egg's Benedict combined a little into a breakfast stack. On top of Turkish bread, there were mushrooms, tomato and some bacon with fried eggs on top (requested with a runny yolk) all drenched in hollandaise sauce. It was a substantial breakfast to say the least, and the eggs were perfectly cooked. There was such a large amount of sauce that the bread probably went a bit beyond capacity to hold it all in. On the side I got a few fries from my dining buddy, and these fries were pretty good.

So, maybe not one that can absolutely be recommended but it does well enough for itself. The amount that you get is filling, and it is for cheaper than usual which are just two aspect it has going for it. So, I can not honestly write this one off as I enjoyed myself.

Worst service ever. I work in hospitality and am usually sympathetic for waitresses. Today my partner and I went for breakfast and it was horrid. Supposed to be table service, but after waiting for 15 minutes, went to order at counter. Tables were all dirty and remained that way until you asked the staff to clean it for you. Coffee and drinks did not arrive until after we had finished breakfast.. which is the number one 'do not' in hospitality. I asked for water literally 4 times, each time the staff would say 'yes sure' and yet I never received. It was extremely disappointing that we could not even get a jug of water, even when asking. The food finally arrived and was cold. My boyfriend ordered the Mixed Grill, which was appalling and he refused to finish it. They forgot the ribs, everything was cold and his meal arrived long after I had finished mine. I ordered the Carbonara, which was also semi-cold, and had absolutely no flavour. The coffee was burnt and downright disgusting, and the Ice Coffee was just milk mixed with the tiniest bit of nesqik or something. The staff had absolutely no clue what they were doing, and after requesting water 4 times, got fed up with waiting and left. DO NOT RECOMMEND!

Late coffee. It was ok food wise but I ordered my coffee as I was seated and it came out just as I was finishing my breakfast, so that is a deal breaker.. when I asked for my coffee when my food arrived the waitress just said "There are a lot of orders in front of you" the place was only a 3rd full, so the barista must've been working at snails pace or something....

As good as ever. I have been coming to this place when in town for over 10 years. Having not been for over 18 months I was not disappointed this time I went. The Benetton breakfast was as good as ever and is highly recommended, and the coffee is top notch. Looks like different management but same quality. Well done

Great breakfast. Had the "awesome breakfast" which was very tasty...halloumi, mushrooms, avocado, tomato and poached eggs on Turkish bread...yummy and good portion size (could not finish it). Husband had "hunger buster"...bacon eggs stack with hollandaisse sauce...nice but mine was better :). Nice strong coffee. Good value, under $40 including coffees for 2.

Sad Birthday. I decided to go here for my birthday for breakfast with friends and ordered the Hunger Buster. Not only was it too small to "bust my hunger" the tomato chutney that it was meant to have was pizza sauce smeared across a burnt focaccia. The cheese added also overpowered the dish. My girlfriend ordered pancakes which were cold and flat and she refused to finish it. Milkshakes were just nesquik and milk. Glasses for cold water were hot out of the dishwasher and we had to be asked to be seated after standing there for 5 minutes. Plain awful, should've went down the road to Lady Marmalade.
Sarah
The worst breakfast I have ever had. The pancakes were cold, and like rubber. Completely indelible. The staff were hopeless too. Urgh.

Food service was very slow. Advice to the cook; drain the hash browns and bacon on paper towel before serving on the plate, do not use pre-mix scrambled eggs for god sake, and drain your eggs for the eggs benenadict so the Turkish bread is not water logged.
This place is worthy of its very low rating. GIVE IT A MISS.

This is a GOTO cafe in stones cnr, I recommend the Calvin Klein or the Thai beef salad! Large portions and friendly staff. And reasonably priced to boot.

Diana. Used to come here a lot but has definately gone down the tubes. Coffee was crap, b/f just ok, had the di moda b/f which used to fill the plate & the panini used to be a highlight, not anymore, plus the bacon was undercooked

Ordinary. Had a group here for brekky after a complete stuff up at Lady Marmalade Cafe. Food , service and decor were all very ordinary. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. It was so ordinary that I won't vote on the like/dislike poll.

Haven't been here for ages, this place has gone downhill. Food was greasy, bacon transparent and oily, coffee burnt. Very disappointed, won't be going back.
Danik
So bad. Did not like it at all, they trying its just didnt work

Worst eggs benedict ever. Yolks fully cooked.

Anon. I have to say they do the best eggs benedict i've ever had. I've had them in Sydney and Melbourne and lots of places in brisbane but they have never been as good as they are at Di Moda. The hollandaise is perfect.
