Review Sirtaj Authentic Indian Cuisine - Brisbane

Very nice. Friendly lady who served us. The seating is outdoors but covered and it's protected from the weather with those plastic pull-down 'blinds'. Nice choice of curries too (although the butter chicken was a little too sweet). BYO makes it great for those who are budget conscious.

This was the most delicious homestyle Indian food we've ever tasted in Australia and value for money. The restaurant owner was so lovely and friendly, I would recommend this to anyone who loves Indian food, had the naans with Beef Dhansak and Chicken Jalfrezi and thoroughly enjoyed it. Good servings and lots of meat too. Do try them, you won't be disappointed.

I ordered a bachelor pack. They only gave me rice with curry. I asked for the drink and 2 papadums that should be in the pack. They gave me the drink and she said we run out of the papadums. Which was hards to believe. She even did not say sorry or apology in any way, or offering something to replace it or return some of the money. sound I just had to deal with that. If you are running out of something you need to let the customer know before ordering it, not treat them like a fool.

Good food, but their service time for delivery is absolutely shocking. Was promised a 1 hour 20 minute delivery time (already ridiculous), but had to wait over an 2.5 hours for our delivery to come. After 1 hour 40 minutes we called them, and they said that we would have our meal very soon (lying). At 9:10, we finally received our meal where the delivery driver basically handed the food over and left, not recognising or apologising for the ridiculous delay. We have had several similar issues with this restaurant, but never this bad.

This defo is NOT authentic food nor is it fresh. We have ordered a few times and every time we were faced with disappointment. Biryani had no salt or flavour. Garlic naan tasted like it went off. And the chicken for chicken tandoori had a bad smell. Very disappointed.

Gorgeous food - butter chicken was the best I've ever had. Shame that it doesn't get as much business as the other places due to the dumb barrier blocking the walkway.

Great food, such a shame you have to eat hiding behind a bright coloured wall that clashes with the Decor of not only the restaurant but the whole shopping centre. Might have to get it to go next time...

The best authenticindin food ive found since moving from England 9 years ago. Lovely hard working family and a pleasure to deal with. Suport local businesses

What a Horrible meal and waste of money!!! Ordered two curries, Nash and rice. Naan was black and completely burnt. Curry mostly water and the beef so chewy we couldn’t swallow it!! Straight in the bin!! Definitely won’t be be and won’t recommend.

Sirtaj makes good quality Indian food. Butter chicken and kormas are both great. Cheesy garlic naan is also a must-try. Wait times are sometimes quite long for no apparent reason.

We eat here nearly once a fortnight and the food and service are consistently excellent. The mixed entree is our favourite and we can't fault any of the curries and the naan bread is amazing! The service is friendly and the menu is reasonably priced - strongly recommended!

This Indian was beautiful right from the staff to the food. I ordered the vegetarian korma, rice and garlic cheese nan. The korma was delicious could of had a bit more spice but still could not fault it, rice was fresh, garlic cheese nan was perfect just the right amount of cheese and garlic lightly toasted. Will be returning !

Delicious, does exactly what the box says. First time, ordered medium butter chicken, samosa chaat and garlic naan takeaway. Butter chicken was a bit sweeter than usual but it worked really well. I didn't know what samosa chaat was but glad i ordered it - it's a big open samosa with filling, chick peas and sour cream. Awesome. Naan wasn't massively garlicy and there was plenty of it. Helpings were good and was given free papadums. Simple dishes, but you'd have to be a stoned hippy to find food more delicious than this.

You will see some mixed reviews about Sirtaj. Here's the low down. It's good, nothing great but reliably good. I've dined in about 6 times and taken away about the same. So 12 times and each time it's good.<br/>Blah blah about authentic tastes, the curries are all different and tasty. The outside dining area is small and is well decorated. <br/><br/>It's a good local eat but not worth driving across town for.<br/><br/>Hey I reckon it's worth a visit just to hear the strongest Aussie accent coming from your hostess.

Not great. We ordered 102$ worth of food and didn't get the quality we expected. They forgot the rice, luckily I noticed this once I got back to the car. We ordered two vindaloo's and they mistakenly gave us madras. Madras is a sweet curry, so that was such a pain. The naan breads aren't great. The onion pakoras are so not traditional. Terrible, dry and obviously microwaved. Palak paneer ! Noooo not frozen yucky spinach !!!! We ordered a vegetable dish, I forget the name, was no. 30, ugh frozen vegetables, insulting !!! <br/><br/>The butter chicken was good. Rice fine.<br/><br/>But cmon, if I wanted to eat frozen, sweet, processed, microwaved food, I'll go to the single mothers home next door and eat what she's serving.

I had a delivery via Delivery Hero and the food was very late and not of a standard that I would describe as "Authentic" Indian. Sauces of both meals (Rogan Josh and Prawns Chennai) tasted much the same (bland tomato) and the prawns were also bland and tasted like they had been frozen. I trust their meals at the restaurant are better than their home delivery ones.

Do not eat here. You will regret eating at this restaurant. The Centenary area is in need of a good Indian restaurant, unfortunately this is not the answer. Spices are bland and they compensate with way to much salt, meat is dry and service is horrible. They could not even issue a receipt for our payment, (which is illegal) I'm sure the tax man would like to know what's happening with his GST that we are paying, because i'm pretty sure it's not going into his pocket...

After reading all the positive reviews we thought we'd give Sirtaj a go. It was a Tuesday evening, we ordered take away to be delivered. <br/>The delivery was 40 minutes later than the time we were given over the phone. Admittedly the lady did sound super stressed, so it could have just been one of those nights. <br/><br/>We wanted tandoori chicken, but they were out of the whole chickens, so we got the drumsticks instead. Also ordered a sheek kebab, korma, rice, and naan. <br/><br/>The sheek kebab was inedible. It was completely dried out, barely resembling meat, and severely over salted. The drumsticks too were much too salty to enjoy. I've never seen the kids drink South during and after dinner. <br/><br/>The korma was lovely, on the spicy side of medium, but very tasty. Rice was, well.,,boring white rice, and the naan were nice if you like them crispy. <br/><br/>Overall we were bitterly disappointed and will probably not give them another go.

At long last. We love our indian and up until Sirtaj opened their doors at Middle Park, we had to drive to Rosalie to get a fix of good indian food. We tried Sirtaj when they first opened and thought it was okay, but nothing to write home about. However in the last few months we have found ourselves there more often - both dining in and ordering takeaway - and I have to say this place is really rising to the top five of my favourite indian restaurants.<br/><br/>Our latest meal was a take away on Thursday night and it was absolutely delicious. We had the butter chicken and the paneer makhani, along with some plain naans and raita. All dishes were simply delicious with a good spice level (we ordered medium) and lovely crisp naan (I don't like the puffy one's myself, like them a bit flatter and crispier) and the raita comes second to no other now - and it's a really good serving size. I hate half a cup of raita, that's no good to anyone.<br/><br/>Anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal - and the leftover the next day - the service is always friendly and prompt. I love that this place is so close to home for me and that it's good!

Yummy..... We went this evening and ate at the restaurant. The staff were friendly. The food didn't arrive too late and both curries were crammed full of meat, I didn't manage to eat all mine. We shared beef roganjosh and chillie chicken. The spicy heat was just right. Large portions of rice and naam bread was lovely, I had the cheesey chillie naam. We will certainly be going back. Surprised at some of the bad reviews but then I guess every restaurant has it's bad days now and then...

A different take. I've eaten here many times since the opening, and have reviewed it before. However, I have 2 kids that are very fussy eaters. Trying everything to get them to eat new foods has always been a chore. The 8 year old has recently been more adventurous, as a result, my 5 year old girl was very disappointed when he chose indian as a family night out.<br/><br/>My 5 year old literally lives on vegies, rice and chicken nuggets. Even trying new food usually results in a scowl and a "YUUUK!". I thought as a review, I would transcribe her thoughts on the place...<br/><br/>"I had some rice and cheese nuggets (pakora) and they were really good. I had a few pieces of chicken and some sausage. and yeah it was awesome. I would like to go there next Saturday too. It was the best dinner ever"... Niamh, age 5 (and the half she won't let us forget)<br/><br/>It's sweet and simple, but for a girl that won't try any new food to be chowing down on a tandoori drumstick and also sheek kebab is a pretty amazing feat.<br/><br/>The other meals were great too, but have come to expect it in our visits. Just pleased it's become part of the kid's repertoire. The staff are friendly, and the kids thought they were fantastic, it really adds to a family night out.<br/><br/>Gary M (Reviewed before)

I love this restaurant. I'm just up from Sydney on holidays but have dined here 3 times already. The food is great...sooo tasty, and the prices are very reasonable...unless you're unemployed.<br/>The staff friendly and helpful. And just this week new items have appeared on the menu...they look good. I would definitely reccommend this restaurant. It's one of the best curry places around.<br/>Jonath

This used to be my favourite Indian restaurant in the western suburbs but the past 2 times we have had take away we haven't enjoyed it as much. Last night our meals had little meat in it and the sauce was watery for both our dishes. The time before our meals were so hot (we ordered them mild) we couldn't eat them. Not sure what is happening??

Undoutbly the best Indian food I have ever eaten! The butter chicken and garlic nann is to die for!!! I've eaten here at least once a week for the last 5 weeks! If you don't try the butter chicken here you are truly missing out!

Overpriced, but delicious.. I must say when I saw the prices of the meals i was expecting larger servings. The meals come with very little meat, and mainly sauce. In saying that, the food you get is delicious.<br/><br/>The Tandoori Chicken is fantastic! Also they have a green sauce (might be dill?) that is delicious with this chicken.

Tasty curries. People in our neighbourhood often choose this restaurant. The curries are tasty and filling, and there is a choice of the level of spicey heat . The butter chicken, chicken korma, and the palak paneer are our favourites. For entres, we go for the mixed platter since it has everything: the sheek kebab and the tandoori drumsticks are so juicy. The naans, I have to say, are the best in Brisbane.<br/>Sometimes we dine-in, sometimes we take-away. A couple of times we have had neighbour 'get togethers' and had the food delivered. That made things so easy, and no-one had to miss out on the fun to prepare the food.<br/>We recommend Sirtaj Restaurant anyday. The food is tasty at good prices and the staff friendly.

Offered medium thinking it was mild - hot hot hot. Chicken tikka would have been beautiful it has chunky ingredients not just a sauce. Samosa was a very mushy and not very meaty.

Great Indian!. I love this place. We have ordered from here numerous times and the food has always been amazing. I love the butter chicken. The staff are always friendly and our meals are delivered to our home hot and ready to eat. I also love the fact that they are open on a Monday, when so many other places are not.<br/><br/>Thank you so much for bringing exceptional Indian food to Middle Park!

Love it. After growing up in the UK, Indian cuisine became the food of choice. I've eaten at many Indian restaurants in Australia, from the west, to the east coast, most have made me feel "Meh", Sirtaj is one of the finest, and one of the few I would recommend.<br/><br/>Their food is fresh and tastes excellent. You can order the same dish many times, and each time it is very slightly different. Giving it a more authentic homemade taste. Their naan breads are fantastic, their curries are just as you ask for them.

Food Glorious Food. A last minute decision to grab a meal out without the kids and we chose the the newest kid on the block in Sirtaj Indian Restaurant in Middle Park. The staff were friendly and able to suggest some great dishes including Aloo Tikki Chaat (spicy potato patties with yoghurt, herbs and spices), Paneer Pakora (cheese cubes in spicy chickpea batter with chutney), traditional Rogan Josh and Chicken Tikka Masala. If we'd had room for more food we would have like to try the Palak Paneer (special spinach curry) and the Navrattan Korma...next time the kids are away!
