Fresh, healthy and quick – three things I look for when I’m on the run! Cheeky Poke provided just that. . I stopped by the Cheeky Poke Bar in West End in Brisbane for a quick bite with a friend. It’s a gorgeous setting with gardens, lights in the evening and a cool atmosphere.
Came here for lunch last weekend for a quick bite - ordered their Wonton tacos with Chicken and creamy Asian sauce and they were sooo good! I only ordered the one though which was my mistake, definitely could’ve gone for another 😋 really nice ambience with outdoor seating too. Service was top notch and super friendly! I’ll be back again soon 😍

Welcome to my pilgrimage to eat allll the poke in Brisbane. So far this is the best I’ve had outside Hawaii. ‘Your best self in a bowl’ is Cheeky’s slogan and there’s no humble brag about it: I was goood.
Menu ✔️
Great range of signature & build your own poke bowls w combos to suit everyone. Tacos, soups, shared plates & sides have an Asian nod & fit nicely in the vein of the fresh poke spirit.
Food ✔️
Signature tuna bowl had plenty of bouncy, fresh Mooloolaba tuna & the regular size was easily shared between two. Liked that the separate components weren’t all mixed together when served. 64 degree egg was a new inclusion for us & a clever one (yoink: stealing that idea for our homemade bowls).
From the shared plates, red curry scallops w beetroot hummus & avo were beautifully seared although the curry flavour could have been dialled up a notch. This dish singlehandedly gave Cino’s Dad hope that not all avo is boring. Respeck.
Venue ✔️
One of a few parkside shipping container eateries in gorgeous West End Village. Big communal feels.
Staff ✔️
Lovely crew.
Style ✔️
Meals & branding have loads of visual appeal. Commendably eco conscious.
Bonus ✔️
OMG licensed. OMG Butterbings.
✔️Highly recommend✔️
I’m returning to try Steve’s bowl (a cute tribute to a super loyal customer) & the fish tacos. Oh okay & the taro chips...
Thanks Cheeky!
We were invited to dine at Cheeky Poke West End and from start to finish, it was a wonderful experience. We started with a kingfish wonton taco and my only negative was that we'd only ordered one. It was PACKED full of flavour and I loved the combination of all the accompaniments with the beautiful fish and crispy taco shell. Definite flavour winner and probably my favourite dish of the day.
Next we had the tuna poke bowl and pork gyoza poke bowl. The tuna was my favourite, it was wonderful and fresh and my husband absolutely loved it. There are a few rich flavours on the dish so I think a small bowl was enough. I really enjoyed the pork gyoza bowl too, so fresh and everything was so well prepared. Great spicy kimchi too, loved it! I thought the aioli was a bit of an odd sauce to go with the gyoza however for the rest of the dish it was perfect.
We had two of the Cheeky Newstead collaboration beers and as with all Newstead beers, they were both great.
Service was very friendly and quick, I love the idea of the mini food court location and the beautiful gardens out the front of this terrific spot in a great location. Highly recommended, I have no doubt we will be back to try more poke bowls and DEFINITELY more tacos! I don't dish out 5 star reviews very often but this place really deserves it - it's my kind of food! Thank you so much to the team for having us.
We visited Cheeky Poke on a weekend for an early lunch. The place wasn’t busy, and we were placed our orders quickly. Opted for the tuna poke bowl ($20.9), while my wife ordered the pork gyoza ($18.9) and we had a side of taro chips ($8.9) to share.
Portions were very substantial, thought I would quickly wolf my bowl down- but ended up feeling full afterwards. Food also tasted fresh and crisp, exactly what you would want in your poke bowl. Taro chips were a winner, I can easily eat a whole bag of these on my own! Service was polite, cheerful and friendly (something not a lot of restaurants train their staff on I noticed!), a welcome addition to our dining experience.
Love this restaurant and been here few times. Particular love different health dish. Personally recommended this one to people who loves health cuisine.
My colleagues suggested me this place while I am in the area. Definitely a must go shop in the future.
Highly recommended for everyone.
Will be back again
Good poke is a good start of the day. Came here for work trip with friend and they were very good. And the price is very reasonable for its quality.
Awesome tacos and poke bowls, everything was done really fresh, great taste, healthy and such a great place and atmosphere. Highly recommend it and will definitely be back. Awesome atmosphere, Great service and really tasty and fresh good.
Came to try out their tacos on a Tuesday as they have a promotion going on. The service was really great! I tried the salmon, Wagyu beef and scallop tacos. Both wanton and nori tacos were really crispy. The seafood was really fresh and I'd recommend both scallops and salmon. I didn't really care for the pickled ginger and felt that it could do without. The beef was too salty.
Not 100% sure why this place doesn’t have more good reviews. Sushi tacos are absolutely to die for and the seafood is always nice and fresh. Did have issues with the app once but aside from that it’s a reliably delicious place to eat.
Loved this little place! In a super cute setting in west end with gardens, fairy lights, while live music was on the grass. The meal was delicious and great price. I can’t wait to come back!

Cheeky is a franchise, yet we have the option to compose our own poke bowl or taco. I’m not an expert on poke bowls, and so I got the impression that at Cheeky the concept is to put a whole heap of different foods together in a bowl and attempt to bring it together with mayonnaise. My bowl had salmon, delicious by the way, raw red cabbage, raw kale, an egg, saffron rice, cucumber, chips, wakame, pickled ginger and mayonnaise. I must say it’s not my idea of serving a delicious meal, but it was healthy and it did me good. If you look for authentic Japanese cuisine you may be surprised to see taco on the menu. The tacos do look good though.
Overall quite happy with lunch. Coconut soup taste is not strong, so abit disappointed. I expect it should be stronger taste. The lunch special king fish bowl taste quite nice and fresh. The taco, mushroom is taste not that good ( maybe just my preference ) but the octopus taste is really tasty and soft to eat.
Tacos were good, enjoyed both Nori and wonton skins for the taco shells. Not too sure if 3 tacos are filling enough however- I felt like they only put like 3 pieces of fish each taco. It felt like more of an entree.
My friend’s poke bowl was a good size though and she looked like she enjoyed it!
Very fresh ingredients, love the nori Tacos, kingfish and wagyu tacos are must try. Great value on taco Tuesdays and nacho Wednesdays! My fav poke place in Brisbane!
My Signature Mushroom Poke Bowl was delicious! Ordering was easy with a QR code on the table so you can remain seated and order and pay. Service was friendly and good.
Lovely place, the outdoor seating is so nice!
I tried the bowl, the quality of ingredients is really good, fresh and the portion is decent. I’m curious to try the rest on the menu..
The food was amazing, two of the best meals we have had in a long time, so fresh a such a variety. My husband said it was like a party in your mouth! Charlene was so helpful when ordering and the barman was equally helpful. We will definitely be back! Great venue!
One of my favorite restaurants in Brisbane. Healthy, fresh and always delicious!!! Good value for money and they have kombucha.
