Review The V & A Cafe - Brisbane

Ordered a pumpkin soup and mocha. Both were of exceptional quality, and the garlic bread with the soup was an excellent touch. Will definitely return in the near future.

+ve: great customer service, attentive to get tables cleaned. Nice coffee as well. -ve: breakfast was not price for value. Quality was poor. I ordered the avocado toast and scrambled eggs. The sourdough tasted very much like Coles sourdough, the avocado was brown and the scrambled egg was not fresh.....it was packet dehydrated eggs. My excitement over having by a breakky out sank when it came out knowing it was something that I could make at home at a higher quality.

I visited this store this morning, while I was waiting for my daughter in law. I ordered a rather complicated coffee and some fruit toast. The lady on the cash register was very friendly and very patient with me. My order arrived promptly with a friendly smile. The coffee was great ( not alway easy to get a good coffee) and fruit toast was warm and fresh When I was finished and still waiting for my daughter in law to arrive a staff member cleared the table. Asked me if she could get me anything else and when I said no thank you she offered me a cold glass of water. I felt very welcome and not rushed out the door Great service is a rarity these days. See you next visit

BREAKFAST IN THE MALL Noisy location in the middle of the mall with a combination of wicker or soft cushioned coach to sit in. Quieter inside near the serving counter. SERVICE I found the service was prompt and friendly on my visit. FOOD I ordered the healthy start breakfast. Arrived at my table within an acceptable wait. Poached eggs - perfect Avocado was fresh Toast buttered and quartered Spinach blanched Cherry tomatos blistered nicely Baked beans a little overheated. DRINK Banana Blast Smoothie not anything SUPER as stated on their menu, but nicely done. OVERALL Happy with my experience and breakfast. POINTS * The centre area good to park your trolley while you eat / drink. * High chairs are available * Gluten free options * Table Service

Rude service. unfriendly staff. great coffee but took 15 minutes, only reason this isn't a 1 star review. Eggs Benedict was overpriced for what you get, eggs over done and took much longer than it should have considering what you get on the plate and how quiet it was. dirty table. expected better considering there was a 15% surcharge for queens birthday public holiday.

45min wait for 2 salads, an open face sourdough toastie, 2 honey sandwiches, waffles and some drinks...except they told us after the 45min wait that there were no more waffles, then wanted to charge us extra to have pancakes instead (which took an extra 20min)... The sourbread was actually wholemeal bread, but they tried to convince us it's sourdough and blamed their suppliers. Everything is microwaved, the bread was stale. Considering what they charge, terrible value for money. Not effeciently run and questionable quality food. ...oh and the coffee was burnt :( Unfortunately not recommended.

Nice service. Decent coffee.

The coffee was undrinkable. Staff were unresponsive on being told that registering dine in with an exercise book was no longer acceptable from 23rd Dec.

It was one of my vegetarian day when I attempted a brekkie at this cafe. Fortunately, it did look after me with option of vegetarian brekkie combo with congee + shallot pancake.
The whole set gave me a big surprise. Not only the congee was full of ingredients of mushroom, tofu, corn and preserved vegetables, but also the preparation of the shallot pancake was superb with good texture and taste.
I think it can be the default place for vegetarian brekkie I the future.
Previous rating: Dec 2019 4.5/5

Our favourite coffee stop at this Shopping Centre. Our Cafe Latte is nicely presented, hot and flavoursome. Another great coffee! Staff here are always friendly and helpful.

Always walked past this place when I frequent to Sunnybank Plaza I didn't realise they had Asian breakfast menu options until I read zomato foddie's reviews!

Feels as though I tried almost all Chinese breakfast options around Southside but still eager to try more I had to give this place a go.

They have quite a lot of choice from congee to noodles (and even pineapple bun!), I went straight to order macaroni soup. When I saw this macaroni soup in Hong Kong I didn't think I will get hooked into this initially from not so appealing look of this breakfast 😁 but now I take that thoughts back completely as I am now totally got hooked into this to a point I was dreaming and craving for this dish 😂😂

Did this place satisfy my craving? The answer is totally YES 🤯😋 Simple dish executed well with good soup and soft macaroni with nicely cooked sunny side up with greens/corns and meat.

My partner ordered noodle and hot chocolate which was scored as 3.8/5 and 4/5.

Happy breakfast and I will keep this place in mind for good breakfast options 🥢

This is a very old school kind of cafe popular with the older generation. However, I still do like it. It's menu is a mix of classic cafe favourites as well as Chinese breakfast options.

I enjoy having the bigger seats, quieter atmosphere than most Chinese joints. The food is not bad at all. I enjoyed the congee which came with a pineapple bun while my hubby enjoyed his fish burger. It's somewhere I'd take my parents for breakfast.

One good thing also is that it faces the large fish tank which is a great distraction for the LO while eating.

I give them a great rating because I think they sell the best Cantonese food in the Sunnybank area . Wonton noodle soup,Satay beef noodle soup, congee etc. They have great coffee and good old fashion Aussie cafe food too

Campos has high expectations for the coffee they produce. This cafe does not live up to the campos standard. More attention to detail needed by the barista. Coffee was not strong enough which means it was under pucked. I did not get the long lasting coffee flavour lingering in my mouth but rather just an initial coffee hit then milk. Campos is harder than other coffees to make as they have small room for error by the barista but a good barista will execute the procedures well and give you a great cup of coffee. Unfortunately not this café.

It's a very nice family run cafe. It offers a range of Hong Kong style breakfasts and western styles too. They use campo coffee bean and they always present the coffee with the campo latte art every time even on my hot milo!

Nice simple place to pickup a quick breakfast. Prices aren't too expensive, however could be better for a couple of dollars less vs quality. The congee was excellent, the satay beef macaroni tasted great but the beef was too rubbery which was a big dislike. So far I rate it 6/10 for breakfast food.
The Devourer Of Food
Usually, my snooty overly self inflated sense of supriorness would not been seen dead at a suburban cafe. However, the Campos code took my attention away long enough to get them big breakfast which turned out damn good for what I paid. The best thing is .... if white man food gets boring, there is a good selection of chinese breakfast that is very nice too. Those congee ... yum. Its got no MSG ... as far as I know but it is so good old say its all MSG.

Average sandwich. Tried this cafe out today (Monday) at 3pm and half the food on the menu was unavailable, they close their kitchen before 2.30pm and serve coffee/cake till 4pm. with hesitation they still made my sandwich- 'sunni special sandwich' was not very special extremely ordinary

Diana. Stopped by for a coffee here in the Sunnybank Plaza. This little cafe has been here for years as I remember having a snack here a long, long time ago & it has not changed much since then they serve a wide variety of different snacks & breakfast options, including Asian. The coffee comes in a very generous sized cup for around $3.50 & it is Campos blend. I love Campos but this brew was a little weak for my taste so I returned it to be remade & it came back beautifully done, creamy, smooth & full flavoured as Campos should be

Fancy a Hong Kong style brekky Sunni Cafe offers lots of options ranging from macaroni soup to wonton noodle and Chinese congee. Pineapple bun with butter is Little Monz and Mr F’s super favourite! And I love their Satay Beef with Macaroni. Not to mention their lovely Campos Coffee Sunni Cafe Address: Sunnybank Plaza (near CBA), Mains Rd, Sunnybank Q4109 Phone: 07 3344 3411
