We have called in here a couple of times for a snack or lunch. Great location in the old Red Cross room under the Brisbane City Hall. Friendly staff, efficient service, nice coffee and an interesting range of overseas foods and snacks, as well as the standard café fare. Nice place, not too busy, plus there is some second hand clothing.

Wonderful service and great choice. Hard to find as the sign on the street says Restrooms and it’s in the basement. Wheelchair and stroller accessible.

This is a really nice cafe. The beautiful people who work here are down to earth and happy. The coffee is better than most other places in the city and the food is fresh. It’s so easy to access this place being right in City Hall. I will make this my favourite stop every time. I hope you enjoy this place as much as I do. Cheers

I don’t often review places but this cafe has such quality, healthy, cheap lunches with lovely staff and a calm, quiet atmosphere. And it has air con! Will definitely be coming back for more!

Breakfast finishes at 9:30am... they wouldn't serve an omelette at 9:34am despite the cafe being relatively quiet... not sure how that constitutes customer service?
FOODIE ADVENTURE
I feel so ashamed to have only discovered this awesome cafe today. This has now become my favourite cafe and not because of the quality of it's coffee but because it's owned by the Red Cross so all the proceeds go to helping young homeless people. Now about the coffee at hand...it was perfect. Not only was the coffe amazing but the service l received was even better. She was so sweet and polite and just made my day. I can't wait to go back because it had great food options as well.

Owned by the Red Cross and staffed by warm and caring individuals, including students undertaking courses at the Red Cross College, Commix Espresso has deep Brisbane ties that trace back over 90 years.<br/><br/>An amazing staff, good food and coffee at a reasonable price are hallmarks of Commix Espresso.<br/><br/>On this day it was an Iced Coffee with Ice Cream. A bit sweet - I'm guessing there was syrup involved - but delicious. Great value and supporting a wonderful cause - a true win-win!

Excellent breakfast wraps - staff are very friendly. Nice way to start the day. The location is very accessible and it feels a bit like a haven in the bustle and rush of the city.

I look forward to coffee at Commix on a regular basis. The staff are warm and friendly and I cannot imagine starting my morning anywhere else. There is no extra charge for strong coffee and wifi is the very best in all of Brisbane. I have met new friends at Commix and appreciate the clean amenities and comfort. Knowing my dollars are contributing to The Red Cross is the cherry on top! My favourite barista in all the world is Rizal! It's an absolute pleasure to know Commix is open at 6.30am and to greeted by smiles and good cheer! I refuse to go anywhere else in the CBD. Thank you Commix!

I found this great coffee spot 8 months ago – drawn in by no extra charge for my double shot and have been there every day since! Great coffee, personal friendly service and my son particularly likes the “smiley face cookies” you get free with every coffee. Food is spot on too – big serves and very well priced. The place is a bit of a hidden gem really and being part of the City Hall building has a bit of history and old world charm about it. I recommend dropping in to see Rizal, Sasha and the team for your next coffee hit...

I really like this place. You can do your own thing - catch up with friends, read, sit on your pot of tea and no hassles! Plus a menu that changes and the scones are such a good price! Right in the city but a quiet spot.

Just awesome. I am here most mornings for a coffee and often breakfast, toast normal or fruit $1 per slice... Amazing and awesome breakfast wraps or muffins. The waffles are awesome for a naughty breakfast. Coffee is always perfect and best price I have seen in this area of the city with a smiley face biscuit - yum! Service is fantastic, that alone would have me going back each time. I have been for lunch occasionally too around $10 for lunch full big plates - couldn't get any better! This place is really a hidden gem and I recommend to everyone.

Just popped in for a morning coffee. It's a lovely hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. My coffee was perfect - full bodied and hot. Next time I will plan to take up one of the daily offers - $1 for fruit toast with a coffee before 9.30am. Waffles & coffee $8. I'll be back with friends next time.
