Review Tsuru Sushi - Brisbane

Krystle Muir
Used to be great, i dont know if you have new owners or what. Rice is so gluggy and uneatable in my chicken don I think your using sushi rice in the stirfry dishes which you never used to. I seen someone throw there meal out while I was waiting for mine to be cooked. Really disappointing considering there are little food options available in cannon hill during week. You won't be around much longer if you don't improve guys, hope you take this as feedback to improve.

Absolutely apauling service, ordered a simple rice and chicken dish and was given a chicken skewer? They then charged me more for getting my order wrong, not only that but the food was disgusting. Not to mention it took 20 minutes of waiting...

Amazing deluxe Bento Box with spicy karaage. The best Bento I've had in Brisbane. Sashimi was fresh too! Love it

Much yum. Only downside was I didn't notice the chicken roll had bloody avocado in it until I got back to work!🤮

The freshly made sushi here definitely fills any sushi cravings I have.

Lovely ambience and decor. The food was good without standing out.

Been twice, service is VERY slow, if you're in a hurry at lunch time I recommend you go elsewhere.

So good. Fresh, tasty and a lot of food.

Sushi hand rolls and cooked meals are ok.
Fresh sashimi was poorly presented.
Lunch specials are pretty good value but otherwise average vfm.

Good value sushi and meals. Have had take away from here a number of times and quality is always good. I've only been at night and they're always pretty quiet, but I assume they do most of their trade to nearby office workers during the day.

Unpretentious Sushi. Tsuru has several locations within Brisbane and it's easy to see why. I stumble in here every so often for lunch and the offerings on the menu are the standard with most Japanese sushi restaurants including okonomiyaki, sashmi, katsu curry etc. The decor is classy yet quite casual in a comfortable way despite it being offered as an upper tier sushi restaurant. But what seems to set this place out is the lack of pretentiousness for what is deemed as a classy Japanese offering. Service was very good and attentive and extremely polite but not intrusively so.

From the appearance of the place you'd expect the food to be quite expensive however this was not the case. Prices are as low as any other takeaway restaurant with meals going around the ten dollar mark and more fancy meals going at twenty. However I found it cheaper to get fed here than one of your standard issue Sushi Trains and the portions of the servings are slightly bigger than other places. The sashimi for instance has chunks of tuna that are easily double the size of what you'd expect at a Sushi Train and it's quite easy to get full on a single meal.

Having dined at numerous Japanese restaurants, consistency seems to be the key as they all serve the same dishes and have roughly the same flavours and so service and value are the main things to look for. In this regard Tsuru is an excellent offering from catering for both casual and formal diners.

Always a winner. We live locally and have dined here on numerous occasions. Every time we are greeted by friendly staff before sitting down to a wonderful meal. There are enough drink options to suit anyone and the food is just divine! We love that Tsuru is a place where you can have a quiet romantic dinner or a family celebration with kids. We had a friend's birthday celebration tonight with their 4 and 2 year olds and the staff were just wonderful with them. Thank you all for providing such wonderful Japan cuisine with impeccable service and atmosphere. We know we'll be back!!!!

Attentive polite service, delicious food: first time here, my partner enjoyed the grilled fish salad, I had a very pleasant fried rice with salmon, cabbage and carrot, and our child enjoyed tuna and avocado maki as well as some of our meals. We'll be back
