Best place for chicken, work lunches are always booked here because it’s fast, quick and so delicious. flavours are amazing and would definitely recommend the hot pot and chicken and the Kim chi pancakes.
This place is a regular go to for small celebrations the chicken is pretty darn good but the variety of shared hot pots are out of this world, prices are a little higher than other food options in the area but it is worth every cent. it can be crowded at times so id recommend getting there earlier to make sure you snag a table
Re-visited this Korean eatery for Sunday lunch last week. Business was as busy as usual.
We ordered a fish cake hot pot, spicy noodle and a cold noodle. There were plenty ingredients in the hot noodles and it tasted good. Cold noodle was not as impressed as the raw beef cold noodle that I had in the city recently but it served good enough feeling for a hot Sunday. Fish cake was average without surprising.
Overall, it was a decent dining experience.

My partner and I decided to have lunch at 88 Topokki in Pinelands Plaza after walking past the restaurant for years. Their is an abundant amount of Korean fusion style food on the menu that all looks fabulous. We shared hot plates of bulgogi beef and marinated spicy pork and a plate of gyoza. The food was delicious and so filling and definitely value for money. The waitress was very helpful and food came out very quickly.
It's a small restaurant, but they deliver big on flavours. For a group of four, we ordered the (Spicy) Beef Rib Hot Pot, Korean Style Crispy Chicken and Topokki with Cheese. The Hot Pot itself wasn't too spicy nor heavy - the beef was mostly tender, the soup packs a kick but is cleansing and there's enough veggies and noodles to go around. Their chicken tastes similar to KFC, but is so much better. Unlike most of the fried chicken spots i've tried, you get a mix of drumsticks and boneless chicken that are a good sizes and the coating is super light and even more crispy. The topokki is a classic - it's soft and chewy just as you would want it, and it's even better alongside the fish cakes and cheese. We didn't end up finishing it all because it was so much food, but leftovers are always great!
My go-to for some yummy korean soy fried chicken and ginseng chicken soup. It can get quite busy some nights especially weekends but if you go after 8pm its usually okay. Unlimited refills of side dishes, i love the sweet potato and macaroni side dish. Highly recommend!
Just want to say some things about our visit last night (8/1/19) there was one waitress and a packed restaurant and she was incredibly good at her job! Very attentive and helpful despite how busy it was. Always made sure we had our side dishes topped up and our needs were met. She definitely deserves appraisal because I know how stressful it can be working in a busy hospitality job. Food wise - it was good! We usually come here for fried chicken. Although I must say if they had a grilled pork belly dish to add to their bbq range, I would order that every time!
Topokki 88 is our absolute go-to for a last minute catch up or cbf cooking night. They manage to produce very consistently rich and flavorful Korean Hot pot which has had us going back for a number of years now. The hot pot’s come in servings of 2 or 3 but will easily feed 3 or 4 respectively. They come out in large pot’s and cook on a gas stove on your table for everyone to share. A must mention is their KFC or Korean fried chicken.. big call but I would say it’s my favorite KFC in Brisbane. The original flavor with the honey mustard that they serve it with is so soo good it’s almost bad. The other 2 flavors are good too. Now to a couple of side notes. When you are seated, you will be given a small serving of banchan (Korean side dishes). Eat these promptly and ask for more! As with any decent Korean haunt, banchan is free and unlimited so don’t hesitate to stick your hand up in the air and wait for a waitress to come and give you another serving. Be advised that like most venues in Sunnybank, the staff can be few and far between. At times you will have to go get that beer and soju out of the fridge yourself. Lastly, it’s byo with a small corkage if you want to bring a cheeky vino which is alright with me! Don’t forget to ask for a container when you have left overs. Highly recommend but don’t all come at once!
Nice food with large serving. Friendly and prompt service. The cheesy pork chop is nice! All food is served with refillable side dishes. They also have Korean hot pot which is available in 2 or 4 servings.
A korean restaurant in Sunnybank/Sunnybank Hills. It has to be good to survive. there is so much to choose from, it is almost criminal if it isn't good.
Went with a largish group. There were 7 of us. The place is small, it is noisy, you do walk away with the smell of korean food in your clothes. But who cares if the food is good?
And it was worthwhile. We ordered multiple dishes. One of the hot-pots (you can choose small or large)we went for large, Sizzling pan pork and fried chicken. The appetisers were happily topped up if you ask. I have not been to a korean restaurant which would top up the soup too. At one stage, the hot pot became a little too intense, my mum asked for a top up of soup and to our surprise, they brought out a bowl of clear soup and even said, if you need more just ask for more. The portions were big enough to feed all of us and the prices were reasonable too.
It was a saturday, we made a reservation. 12.30pm. It wasn't as busy as I have read, but by the time we left, it was packed! It is worth the drive from the northside of brisbane.
Have good food will travel.
I think hot pots there are much better than those Korean restaurants in City. I try the special chicken one with three toppings, and gonna try more next time. The only thing I don’t like is the rice should have been more!!!!
This place is another one of my go to spots- Amazing Korean Fried Chicken & price point is a bonus.
Having been here many times I highly recommend coming here & trying their Fried Chicken.
Nice place for a Korean hotpot. Only one girl serving all the tables, making it a bit busy in peak hour. Kitchen was fast tho. Taste good but expensive. Don’t bother returning later.
Korean fried chicken is more than a trend now. When it first began in the shadows of cult hit You From Another Star the main 3 KoreanFC places I knew in Brisbane were: Bungle Bungle, Korean Burger & Topokki. I loved both the former (although Bungle Bungle is now closed) but never got around to trying Topokki. Nowadays there’s a slew of restaurants with repetitive monosyllabic names (i.e. Momo, Nene, Falalalah) that also do KFC.
I tried the takeaway 10 pieces of Korean fried chicken for only $9.80. I would say it is extremely worth the price. The chicken is still very succulent and meaty after being fried. It has the perfect amount of fried-ness without being over fried. The chicken is not too oily while still being extremely flavoursome and tasty. Ordered the fried chicken for takeaway - drove home for 20 minutes and the chicken was still warm and crispy! It also comes with a side of honey mustard which is delicious for dipping the fried chicken in.
I've said it so many times, but cold weather is the best weather for Hot Pot, and with the closure of two of the five Madtongsan stores lately, I decided to branch out a little and try out other stores. Living near Sunnybank, 88 Topokki has long been on my radar, with the recent cold snap, it was definitely time for me to go and try it.
Saturday nite Pineland Plaza is a busy place to be. After a 20min battle in the parking lot we made our way to 88 Topokki. The well-known Korean restaurant specializes in traditional Korean dishes and hot pots. We were able to secure a table and ordered fried chicken wingdings and seafood hotpot for two.
Around 20min wait, the hotpot made a welcoming arrival. The decent serving contains sliced beef, combination seafood, mixed veggies, eggs & soft tofu. All contents were raw and cooked directly on our table. It was strangely appetising to watch the ingredients simmer and bubble in front of you. Soup was pork bone based paired with seafood and beef makes an interesting flavour combination. The disappointment however was the poor quality seafood utilized as all were low quality frozen ones you will find in Asian supermarkets. 3/5
The chicken wingdings were fried to order with sweet mustard dipping sauce. The jumbo size 10pc plate of goodies were golden crispy complemented by a nice crunch with each bite. The meat was reasonability juicy but lacks flavour compared to MoMo. For $9.90, this is the best value Korean fried chicken in south side Brisbane. 4/5
Overall service was ok for a very busy Saturday nite. Several reminders for water and side dishes were made but were always delivered with a smile. 3.5/5
Hint: Their 10pc deep fried wingding is a must try. Marinated beef & tofu hotpot is a 4/5.
A minimalistic but clean Korean restaurant. I shared the beef and seafood hot pot with my partner and it was pretty good. Prawns, clams and baby octopus were fresh. The portion was generous for regular size (2 person). Although just a few dollars more expensive than comparative hot pot from CBD Korean restaurants, it was worth another visit soon.

The best Korean friend chicken I've had! Defs going back to try again! The pork and tofu hot pot I got was amazing and I got a lovely surprise when I saw it has gyoza and rice cakes in there as well 😀 the waitress was helpful in preparing the hot pot since she could see I didn't know what to do, but the service could improve as it was often hard getting the attention of the staff and I got out of my seat many times to ask them for things.
Cheap hearty korean eats! Love their Korean hot pot special- very spicy though and not for the faint hearted. Decor and feel is average but doesn't deter from the experience
Had the takeaway chicken wing special. Quite tasty, crispy, juicy and good value for money! It took about 20 mins from ordering and the crispy-ness and warmth lasted till we got home (about a 8 min drive including parking)
I find I don't *love* Korean food, but this was really tasty. Fried chicken was good bang for buck - we had soy & garlic and it was tasty, crispy and moist 💪 Sharing the vegetable and pork belly hotpot between 3 we were full. It wasn't too spicy, but packed lots of flavour with fresh veges, meat, soft tofu, rice cake, mushrooms, broth, etc. Lots of taste and texture, would eat again! We got a seat quickly but it does get busy, clean and well lit space that was nice to spend time in.
Ordered half a fried chook to share between 3 mates along with some fries and we were stuffed by the end. Chicken was crispy and delicious. Will return.
Toppokki, toppoki, tteokbokki, ddeokbokki, and however else you decide to spell it, is utterly delicious. Little strips of rice cakes that have a very satisfying chew, you can have them in their signature gochujang spicy sauce with fish balls and other goodies or as an accompaniment to your favourite hotpot! H., tells me its an iconic part of your childhood growing up in South Korea, the perfect quick meal or after school snack alongside Korean fried chicken of course! I will use the word tteokbokki for the rest of this page as it is my preferred spelling and what Wikipedia uses, if its good enough for wiki, its good enough for me.
Tried this place a couple of times and the portions are definitely generous :) For the amount given compared to the prices, it is worth it. The fried chicken and fish cake soup would be my two favourites
Had tofu hot pot, the soup was pretty good but the seafood didn't taste very nice.
We came again for the BBQ beef hot pot, it was way too sweet. All we tasted was nothing but sweet....
Very enjoyable meal, fast service, relaxing vibe, fresh and tasty dishes, the fried chicken was excellent as was the pork stir fry it was fresh hot and tasty

Although we liked it but everything seems too sweet. Extra spicy chicken was ordered but couldn't taste anything but sweet (very disappointed). However, normal fried chicken tasted awesome and better than KFC. The chicken hotpot was packed of flavours (but still sweet). Cheap beer and drinks! Decor is nice and trendy, staff was friend and at least spoke and understood english clearly (which is already a big PLUS!). So far I rate this place 6.5/10. Hope to return again soon and try other dishes.
Good service and food for its price. The customer service they provided was amazing. I remember the waiter saw a bit of dirt on the chopsticks so he went to get another pair for me. He seemed genuinely cheerful and welcomed people.
We only ordered the chicken here though. This restaurant was generous with the sauce and for the price you pay, the chicken is pretty worth it. There was plenty of meat on the chicken as well and the the waiter was happy to provide us with takeaway boxes when we couldn't finish. I wouldn't say it is the BEST chicken EVER or anything but I'd give it a 8.5/10 for the price you pay.
Crispy Chicken. Can be better if the chicken be more seasoned. but better than KFC
For a place that's named themselves after topokki, their fried chicken is actually on-point.
Loads of flavours to choose from, and super crispy - worth a revisit just to try all the flavours!
Got the soy garlic chicken, pork and vegetable pancake, bbq short ribs, cheesy corn. The soy garlic chicken had lots of bones but tasty sauce. The short ribs were tender and tasty, but they had lettuce as the garnish which didn’t suit. Cheesy corn is always good. The pork and vegetable pancake was my favourite - super tasty.
I didn't expect that ddekbboki is delicious
However it was so great.. I sometimes went there something Korean food but Never try ddebboki. I found great restaurant for ddekbboki. So happy to have all what I ordered . I will definitely come back to try another ddekbboki.
My family and I regularly come here for a variety of dishes - all consistently delicious. We've probably eaten here the most out of all the restaurants at Pinelands. Food comes relatively quickly and prices are good for the serving size.
Beautiful Korean food good value for money very authentic. Highly recommended
