I went here with my parents for my last meal in Australia before heading back to South Korea, where I was living at the time. It's a struggle to find decent Thai food over there so I was really looking forward to this. The food was good but it was unfortunately the flavours were not up to the standard of other Thai places I have tried, I was left a little disappointed. Our starters were great but I would have preferred a bit more heat to the two curries we shared, we asked for them hot but they didn't really have much of a kick to them but it was good to see that they were both packed full of meat and vegetables. Another thing I noticed was that the service was quite slow considering there were only two other parties in the restaurant. This place has some minor problems but I would like to head back there and give it another go.
I meant to visit Kuan Yin Vegetarian restaurant at the Fortitude Valley last Sunday morning. Unfortunately, it has not been trading any more so randomly picked up a restaurant to have dinner. This Thai restaurant really located at a prime position in Chinatown so gave it a go. When we stepped in, there was no customer dine in yet so we were the first table. Ordered the lunch special Tofu & Veg Rice, Tofu & Veg Tom Yum Thin Noodle Soup and a Deep Fried Tofu. The peanut sauce accomplished with the Deep Fried Tofu was delicious but I don't like the texture of Tofu that they served. Surprisingly, the sauce go with the Tofu & Veg. Rice was tasteful, however, the Tom Yum soup base lack of pungent chilli kicking. Otherwise, this place would be the first option of Thai restaurant that I would prefer if I dine in Chinatown again.

I have tried many Thai restaurants in brisbane and Thai mata restaurant is a good experience to us.authentic Thai food, with cheap prices and high quality .have already been there 4-5 times with my family and service staff was nice calm and welcoming
Great Service. Thai Mata was another Thai favourite during my stay in Brisbane. The service was really great, and friendly.
I had Beef Jungle Curry, Thai Fish Cakes, and Salt & Pepper Squid. All very nice, and at a great price.
Thai Fish Cakes: 8/10
Jungle Curry: 9/10
Salt & Pepper Squid: 8/10
Service 9/10
Where to start the service was great the food was even better! Only wish that Thai Matta was closer to home! We cannot wait to go again! It was a brilliant start to a fantastic evening! ;-)
Food was delicious. Try the steamed prawns in small bowls for a taste sensation, and the green chicken curry. Money bags were a nice change from usual chicken and water chestnuts filling. Our waiter was great too. Much appreciated his suggestions and service. Will definitely return.
I had the lunchtime special--a green curry.
Was cheap and really tasty. The service could have been much better, particularly since there were only a couple of others in there at the time.
I'm going to go back because of the food.
