Review Harry's Diner - Brisbane

The ambience is great as is the service. I give the food average marks. The burger patty was not authentic and tasted as though it has breadcrumbs in it. The bun was fresh but too big and doughy in relation to the patty. The fries were yummy as was the hot chocolate. The chocolate shake was thick but not very chocolatey.

I visited Harrys Diner. The food was fantastic. I have had friends tell me about the food and Drinks are amazing and now that I have finally been, I totally agree with them 😀 On the day my family and I went we got treated to one of the events. A beautiful car club was also at Harry's. A regular customer told me that Harry's Diner has events like this regularly and they list events on Facebook. All of the owners of the cars were very friendly and willing to talk about what if anything they did to the cars I will add some photos from my XPERIA as we did not realise that a car club would be at Harry's Diner.

Such an adorable little 50’s themed diner. The burgers were huge and delicious! Chicken schnitzel was cooked to perfection. Such friendly staff and a lovely feel. The thick shakes were awesome and I’m pretty sure they make the BEST chilli cheese fries in Brisbane! Overall a really great little spot!

Just got back from Wednesday night bike night. Could have easily been 500 bikes there of all shapes and sizes. Was an amazing experience. The food and service was top notch as well. Great place to visit.

Off the diet and out to enjoy something special. I'm feeling a bit more American with this US diner feel. The Henry's Dog reminds me of a time when at the ball park for baseball and getting a all American hotdog with the works. The chili cheese fries were very good. Combine Americana with the 50s diner atmosphere and I can see why this is a win. Spot on brings me back to a small diner in Missouri I used to frequent on classic car weekends. So many beautiful cars pulling up to admire only adds to the overall feel. If you want to know what it's like to pull into an American diner that will take you way back to a time when car culture was all about the muscle, you will find it here. It brings me back to a slice of America and how I grew up in the South.

First Wednesday of every month is bike night, some months there has been over 300 bikes there easy. It's a great night out to catch up with some friends and have a feed at Harry's Diner. If people stop eating at Harry's and go next door Harry's will stop putting on bike nights and other car events so please people eat at Harry's Diner and have a great night out.

Tried the Louisiana burger and beer battered chips, it was the most amazing burger I've ever had, juicy and full of flavour, not even close to the most expensive one either! If you are considering dining here for an amazing little taste of america, Harry's Diner WILL NOT dissapoint! Solid 20/10

Awesome venue, love the bike nights, good to see local venues supporting the car/bike communities and vice verse. ( 4 stars because they forgot mates burger and we had a 20 min wait for his food)

Poor dining experience and dislike the way it's run (see their recent Facebook posts and you'll see why)
Food is over priced for what you get

Another unusual find thanks again to Ronnielui (Thanks Ronnie this place took me back to British Columbia & USA & their authentic diners everywhere!!) Loved all the duke boxes & retro cars painted on the walls inside. Our vegetable burgers came out just the way they do it in Canada as well with a knife right through the middle to hold it all together. The fillings in this case were just oozing out! Loved the vegetable pattie it was moist, enormous & crammed full of vegetables with a crispy crust. The bun was light & fluffy & service as always in the diners was prompt & courteous

I meant to visit the Willow & Spoon this morning but the opening hour information is not correct from Zomato. When I arrived there at 6:40am then realised that they open at 7:00am. Well, I did not like to wait for 20 minutes so turned around back to Sunnybank area. While I drove past the shopping centre along the Newmarket Road, all of the sudden, I remember this eatery opens early today so changed my mind to give it a go. After I parked, I discovered that it opens at 7:00am as well and it was only 6:45am, so I asked the friendly staff if they open yet. The response was very polite and friendly with positive answer and welcoming smile. I walked in the café and felt the American vibe immediately. Ordered a flat white and a vegetarian brekkie (my vegetarian day today). The Merlo coffee was on my table very soon. Although the strength was not strong for my palate, I was die for caffeine, at least, it worked. After 10 minutes, my brekkie was on the table. Wow, it looked spectacular with mushrooms, spinach, eggs, beans, tomatoes, hash brown and toasts. It ended up that I could only finish half of it and I felt very shame. Overall, it was a nice start of the day.

Always serves quality food, the service is great! Love the coffee and milkshakes. The American bottled drinks are also great!

Could be made better.. On arriving at Harry's Diner met by two cheerful staff members who made us feel at home. Meals ordered and bought to the table quickly. Burgers, Fries in batter and Ice Cream Spiders. In industrial area so probably missed by many who pass by. Great for car clubs. Needs a good clean up and toilets are gross. Needs some attention to front counter as nothing to intice you to eat. More Americana needs to be added. Game and Jutebox put in another area and more booths. We sat outside and was good for watching the cars from the car clubs come in and park. On the whole needs a good revamp. Food good.

Don't bother!. After years of trying to visit Harry's and finding them closed at weird times, I finally took my daughter there today as a treat. The place felt dirty and dingy. I didn't even want to touch the dirty menus. Hot food in a bain-marie. Cold food in a refrigerated display cabinet. Female staff member couldn't crack a smile despite my efforts to be friendly. And the worst meal I've had the misfortune of spending almost $30 on. Needless to say, I'm completely over my need to visit Harry's Diner and would suggest everyone else keep clear. It seems only suited to a quick greasy lunch for staff of the surrounding industrial businesses. VERY disappointed - it could be so much more!

Harry's Diner - Windsor, Brisbane. Sometimes some of the best finds come as surprises all-round. This time, it is in the middle of a car park within the retail are of Windsor. There stands Harry's Diner which is a small 50's style American diner serving the kind of food that would be expected from such a place. Believe it or not, this is really tasty and worth going to - the food is substantial and will fill you up until the next main meal of the day.

There was a brief period of time - again - for dropping off the baby and having a couple of hours to spare before coming back. After a morning of hard work my dining partner had not had breakfast (plus was thinking of holding off lunch until told otherwise) and it was around lunch time, so the two of us headed off to eat somewhere nearby. There was no real plan but I caught this place with my eye and suggested it - then we were there.

You can choose a few different types of seating here, with the classical booths (of course), an awkward small table and al fresco in the usual kind of al fresco seating. To pass the time there is some games here - pinball machines, an arcade machine plus the signature jukebox.
The choice of seating the two of us went in was the booth - it is more comfortable and cosy, and I was in a diner so why not?

I cannot dismiss service and work ethic here. The counter person was actually quite friendly and welcoming and the chefs could be seen going in and out on cue. Ordering is done at the counter and paid for in advance.

For eating I got a burger meal which came with beer battered fries and coleslaw. Each burger comes with lettuce, tomato and grilled onion. The burger I got was called Route 66, which had a ground beef patty, bacon, egg and cheese.
When it came out, I was astounded at the size - my eyes must have gone wide. This was not the biggest burger that could be ordered from the menu, yet I had a hard time wrapping my mouth around the entire thing.
The burger itself was amazing. The diner actually used proper ground beef which showed in the patty crumbling and the general taste and feel of the patty. Proportions of the other items of the burger were profuse and each one tasted like it was of good quality. In fact, the cheese they used were melted and dripping out of the burger. It was one of the biggest and one of the best burgers that I have tried for some time.

The side coleslaw was a drier kind than usual, focusing on the fresh crunch of the cabbage and carrot. Aside from that, there is not an awful lot to talk about.

Like the usual case, beer battering the fries made them sublime. They were hot and crispy and only needed the salt to be palatable - only real qualm is that I could have had a lot more.

On the side to drink, I got a soda float - or a spider. The range of sodas available is extensive; there is the usual expected ones of Coke, lemonade, Dr. Pepper etc but there is plenty of lesser known ones like root beer, French Vanilla etc. Since I had already placed an order and did not want to waste the time of the counter person I did a quick grab and got a Boylan Black Cherry.
This hit the spot on such a hot day. The Black Cherry was different for a soda which a not-sweet taste - it had a tart feel to it. This actually suits the spider more as it differs from the taste of the ice cream.

All of this was very filling and satisfying. I would most certainly want to return here for the portions and the range of options to choose from. Once I got over the bizarre location, this was one good place to visit.
