We love the Danish Twist deal, buy 4 and the 5th Twist is free! We also get a packet of 6 Egg Rolls. Yummy!
Hot cakes are really hot. For people trying them for the first time, mind your tongue as the filling is really hot! Definitely a go-to snack: warm, fulfilling, and certainly on the cheap side! Where can you get something to eat with a bit more than a dollar?

When you walk pass by their kiosk ... the smell of the hot cakes really tempting. After lunch, I decided to buy and my daughter wanted the original teddies hot cakes which actually has no filling inside. For original sets of 6 price $4.50. It tasted really good ... everything was bakance. Next I want to try their danish twist
Holy moly, cheap and delicious. The twists were crispy, fresh, hot and tasty. I always go here for a snack or before a movie. I recommend coming here if you have a couple of bucks and looking for something very yummy! :)

After coffee at Chatterbox I happened to notice this hot cake house. Having previously tried out the one in the Myer Centre City I admit to a bit of a fascination with these tiny delights! Chose the oreo one this time which had two oreo biscuits inside. All for a tiny $1.30 bargain
I had tried their hot cake which was good when you eat it hot but not good if it was cold. this time I tried their danish twist...and it was sooooo good and tasty. The danish was a bit crunchy outside but chewy inside. Not too sweet because you only eat it with sugar topping on the outside.
If you've been to Sunnybank Plaza, chances are you've walked past Hot Cake House which has been around for almost 20 years.
These Chinese car wheel cakes is typical Chinese street food. They taste like pancakes, with a soft, chewy texture. Fillings can be hit and miss but enough variety to find one you'll like.
That said, I did enjoy the Oreo and the green tea filled with custard. Both exceeded the cost of the product and represent excellent value. The taro one was a bit bland so that was a bit disappointing. Hot cake house makes a point of stating that they don't use powdered custard so extra points to them.
You can't be too critical of a treat costs $1-$1.50 per hot cake. Worth a try for that price, that said I'm not itching to go again.
Very nice Danish twist. $1.60 each. Buy 4 get 1 free. Good value for money. Taro cake is also good. Great for snack and tea time. Opposite the boost juice stall.
Whenever in Sunnybank, I always head here for a little snack and also takeaway box with a good selection of different flavour. When freshly made, they're crispy outside and fluffy inside. The price is not bad at all and they're really tasty. My favorite flavours are: Matcha, Chocolate, Custard and Cheese. I don't really like cheese and I also have problem with lactose in milk, however I found these round cakes with melted cheese unbelievably attractive. When taking cakes home, they tend to ended soggy, but you can always put them to hot oven under the grill's heat for a few minutes. This way they can be crispy and fluffy again even if you eat them the next day.
Loved the variety of fillings. Bought the combo 3 which was 5 pancakes and 1 coffee. Luckily we got ones freshly made-chocolate, original custard, strawberry & custard, strawberry & chocolate and matcha & red bean. They all were nice. Just that last time when we got those already made one, they were dried out and hard. Oh gotta mention of my latte; surprisingly, the coffee was nice, smooth, good temperature.
Hot Cake House is my second temptation ( after Papa's Pancakes) in my Sunnybank Plaza shopping expeditions. It's a close second, their danish twists (I prefer this name for it more than croissant fingers as they're called at Papa's Pancakes) and their hot cakes are both delicious and reasonably priced, and inconveniently located if you're looking to keep your diet healthy!
Great as always ^^
I remember having them when I was younger and my family lived in Sunnybank. I just came back 7 years later and they're still as delicious as I remember them to be. There's many flavours of filling to choose from but my favourite is the classic custard and the matcha + red bean hot cakes. They're also relatively cheap for a fresh and filling snack.
Excellent service and awesome food. Food was fresh and smelt and tasted delicious. Crispy out side and soft and full of flavour on The inside. Would recommend if you are looking to treat yourself.
Sometimes spot on with a gooey middle but today was a miss day. One was way overcooked with barely any goo (strawberry custard), the other (plain custard) was good but I've had it better before. Service is fast and friendly.
I love watching the ladies work their magic with a skewer and the hot moulds.
I tried the taro pancake and it was not too bad! The taro flavour was a little weak, but the pancake had the right amount of sweetness. It wasn't loaded with sugar, thankfully. Instead, it was just slightly sweet.
Feeling peckish one Friday afternoon, a friend and I decided to get a quick snack at Sunnybank before going home. On a whim, we headed to Hot Cake House, for a yummy traditional Taiwanese Snack. Despite being called Tokyo Pancakes, they are undoubtedly Taiwanese. Recently they have been doing a special where you buy three and the fourth one is complimentary.
I've been wanting to try the Hot Cake House for awhile so we went to the Sunnybank Plaza tonight so we could get some. They have a small shop near the foodcourt that's simple and to the point.
We ordered the green tea and chocolate cakes and the Choo Choo strawberry cake that was milk chocolate with strawberry but we were given the one next to it that was white chocolate with strawberry. They were already all made up and stacked in towers so it only took a moment. They also only accept cash so I was glad I had some on hand to get my cakes quickly. I enjoyed the green tea cake and the white chocolate cake was alright but the chocolate one was my favourite.
I enjoyed the taste of the cake the most though with the flavours inside just being an extra perk. The cakes are also extremely cheap for the filling snack that they are so I would pick up some more if I was there and hopefully I get to try the other chocolate one next time.
I love this place! Whenever I go into the Sunnybank shopping centre, I can't resist getting a Hot Cake. My favorite flavour would have to be just the plain chocolate, but there is so many other flavours to choose from. The Hot Cakes are at a very reasonable price; $1.10 for many. Also the Hot Cakes are made fresh and are warm when you get them.
Peoples lived in Brisbane are lucky that they don't need to wait for a long queue for the hot custard sweet treats like Emperor puff in Sydney Chinatown. Indeed there are similar products serving by two shops in Sunnybank Plaza, the larger outlet is the Hot Cake House, which just locates opposite to "Boost" and they are serving different hot cakes with varieties ingredients such as custard, chocolate and red bean etc. Prices are cheap and convenient to have a sweet dream after meals.

My wife and I always buy hotcakes here. A very small little snack no matter savory or sweet, these little gems will satisfy your cravings. Smell really nice everytime u pass. Currently under face-lift renovations.
Cheap and tasty. Good priced pancake snacks. Crispy on the outside, gooey in the middle. All under $1.50 each.
If you like waffles, try this place. Cheap, tasty and satisfies your sweet tooth. I found the service fine. Can't wait to go back and try some of the other flavours.
Interesting sweet delights. Mini japenese spongy pancakey things stuffed full of various sweet gooey goodness. Cheap, and rather filling.. A must dessert if in the plaza

nothing could have prepared us for the unbelievable deliciousness of piping hot Tokyo pancakes from Hotcake House!!!
Recommend the Danish or the custard filled Hot cake. Made while you watch. Huge variety of flavours. Super cheap. Hot cakes are about $1.40 each buy 5 get 1 free. Very filling.
The hot cakes and danish I tried (custard and also peanut) were superb and so cheap! What a find! The service was also fast and friendly. I'll definitely be back!
Absolutely phenomenal and cheap hot cakes. Personally, the Oreo hotcake is my favourite but I have to give a shout out to the cheese and corn flavour. The hotcakes are always fresh and warm, you see them made right in front of you. My partner and I will make any excuse to go to Sunnybank just to go here.
We like the crisp chewy Danish Twists
How do they manage to sell these for such low prices? I hope it's not by underpaying their staff but the warm pastries are massive bang for your buck.
They're much bigger and filling than macarons while being just as cheap, if not cheaper, than a chocolate bar.
Be warned EFTPOS users must spend up to $5 in order process a transaction.
Absolutely wonderful variety of flavors! I was amazed by the customer service, especially by this very sweet lady. I will be sure to stop by again to get the danish twists and the red bean hotcake. Will definitely come back.
