Review Casa Cebo Restaurant - Brisbane

Casa Cibo is my favourite local Italian place! Well priced with amazing food in good portion sizes. Their $15 pizza pasta deal is especially great value! Service is exceptional - even when they're super busy. The staff have always been charming and helpful.

Disappointing. 30 minute wait for our first drinks order at 7pm. Had to ask about our drinks twice before they arrived at 7.30pm. $30 crab fettuccine for main was very bland & not much crab. I've made tastier meals at home. Hubby liked his chicken al funghi for main. We tried to order dessert at 9pm but couldn't - kitchen closed not taking orders. How bizarre lol. Some notice about the need to order dessert before 9pm would've been handy. Only 1 out of the 4 lady's bathroom cubicles had toilet paper šŸ™„ Water all over the basins, no paper towels or hand dryers & the hand sanitizer station was empty Vast improvements needed.

Decided to give this restaurant a second chance and it was a big improvement on my last visit. I had the crispy skin salmon which was very tasty. My mum had the chicken which she said was ok it just needed more seasoning. Food overall was nice but a bit overpriced. Staff are friendly.

I ordered a sirloin and was excellent quality. The vegetables was a couple of carrot rings and potato pieces. I enjoyed the meat but they could have left the veggies out. I liked the idea to order and pay through the app on the tables. The table was not cleared from empty plates and glasses. It was an enjoyable night.

Food was great, lunch pasta special came really quickly and tasted great. The QR menu does need adjusting so people can make vegetarian option etc though. Didnā€™t have a button/tick for that instead you have to order at the counter.

We had a wonderful Melbourne Cup Luncheon. The food was fresh and very delicious. Casa Cibo staff were helpful and the event was run smoothly.

Had dinner here on Saturday night. The venue was lovely and our waitress Ellen looked after us really well, however the food was not great. Pasta came out cold and hard and rice was under cooked. Service and drinks however were were great. A good place to get drinks with friends but maybe not to eat.

I took my sister to Casa Cibo the other day and it is our new favourite Italian restaurant. The staff were welcoming and interactive and the food was delicious. We even went for a little look upstairs where they had a range of function areas which would be amazing for a birthday dinner or celebration. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone who is looking for a warm traditional Italian meal and kind, warm-hearted service.

Disappointing visit for a Birthday evening. All doors open so very cold (due to CoVid apparently). Pasta dishes bland. Food went cold quickly, bowls were not heated. Some staff were not friendly. No atmosphere. 3 of the 9 mains not available. Very poor experience. Will not be returning. Much better places to eat at Chernside

Went for the Gluten Free showcase and it was incredible!! All five courses were amazing and plentiful. Dining set up was family style and initially I was a little nervous was Iā€™m a bit of a shy person but the atmosphere was lovely and we made friends with the people we were sitting with. It made for a much more enjoyable dining experience. As it was family style we all shared the platters of food that were laid out on our table and there was more than enough food for each course. At $55 a head the price was more than reasonable if not cheap for the abundance of food provided as well as a free drink on arrival.

First course was antipasto platter, with bread for the table and bowls of beautiful tapenade. Second course was four different types of pastas and each one was absolutely delicious! Third course was four different pizzas and of course they were so good. Fourth course was roasted vegetables and seafood platter with salmon, mussels, scallops and pipis which were all cooked beautifully. Desert was a very wide and generous selection of pastries, panna cottas, mousses, cheesecake and profiteroles! Needless to say there was so much delicious food and you could even ask to take the leftovers home with you.

As a first ever visit to this restaurant I was more than impressed. I will be dining here again! And if there are more of these showcases Iā€™ll be the first in line to book a spot!

The kitchen is disgusting and the staff is rude. The chef swears and has no manners. AVOID THIS PLACE. The food is bland and chef / manager very impolite and mannerless.

We eat here about once a week and everything is delicious

SALMONELLA POISONING - I refer to your recent feedback to a reviewer "We can assure you that we have a high standard when it comes to food quality". My son attended the restaurant a week ago and he and his partner had the chicken parmigiana. Both chicken breasts were raw in the centre and unfortunately, my son had partially eaten his. He was released from hospital yesterday having been diagnosed with food poisoning. Although the staff on the night replaced their meals etc etc I believe the hospital has reported this restaurant to the Government health dept for investigation. DONT ORDER THE CHICKEN!

Dined at Casa Cibo Chermside restaurant on Monday, and left feeling extremely disappointed.

We were placed in a booth at the far back corner of the restaurant with direct sun beating through the windows and terrible aircon which left us all feeling sticky and uncomfortable.

The food then arrived and was not what I expected after reading the menu description... ā€œmozzarella, smoked salmon, avocado smash and capersā€ instead I received an under topped pizza with what looked like tinned salmon and BROWN sliced avocado. It had no flavour and was very disappointing. My partners pizza was also under topped, consisting mostly of rocket and was soggy. Your ā€œtruffle pasteā€ also tastes nothing like truffle. My friends pasta was stodgy and stuck together. I think the best looking dish was the basic pasta from the kids menu!

To add insult to injury we also copped a 15% public holiday surcharge, which was expected but disappointing if you canā€™t even serve quality food that matches your already premium pricing.

Honestly more of a 2.5. The Mac and cheese was tasty, and service was prompt although the pizzas were super oily, the dough was a bit thick for me and too charred. Really quite bitter tasting on the bottom. The garlic pizza literally had pebbles of garlic that was pretty unpleasant to chew as they were hard and well... chunks of garlic, it was over-drizzled with olive oil yet the pizza itself was dry. Not the best.

Great dinner on Friday for my daughters birthday
We love everything, pasta, pizza and salad.
I personally love GF option!! I should have read the reviews before I went there. I wonder if the restaurant read the feedback or not?? Or maybe they just read and ignore??? We ordered pastas , pizza, calamari and veal steak. Pastas had no taste or seasoning. No flavors . I paid over $60 for 2 pastas because of public holiday surcharges but I think it is definitely overpriced. If you use premade sauce(seafood with tomato) to reduce the cooking time, you have to taste it after putting the pasta into the sauce. That is simple and easy.

And veal steak was too tough, not tender at all. And the vegetables were too overcooked and oily. Felt like having a slice of rumb steak for a steak sandwich for $30 +15% of surcharge.

Pizza was lacking toppings. It was not bad but It was not worth for $25. Just calamari was okay even though we got it at the end of our meal when we had ordered it as an entree.

Never ever return back to this restaurant again..and will not no recommend to any of my friends. just a waste of money and time.

Unfortunately I wasn't blown away by the food here. My main of crab linguine was quite good but lacking in salt. The bruschetta was a big disappointment. 3-4 cherry tomatoes per slice and way too much whipped ricotta. Service however was good. Not sure I'd go back.

Went to Casa Cibo for dinner last night.. I have to say we were very disappointed.
Service was very slow and we waited nearly 40 minutes for drinks, then another 35 minutes for the food.
I ordered the pork belly with a side of green beans.. it was awfully dry, and stated it came with roasting juices. I can only assume they poured it over the potatoes because that was the only thing moist on my plate. The green beans were so undercooked and still had their stalks on.
Out of our party of 5 only 2 people actually enjoyed their mains and no one enjoyed desert. Rock hard chocolate pie which nearly bounced off the plate, pastry awful on the lemon celo tart, tasteless gelato, and rubbery pana cotta..Ā
Have to say we will not be returning. Waitress asked for feedback on the meals, she sent someone else to talk to us, but they just made excuses.Ā In the end, 1 desert was deducted off the bill. We weren't looking for a free meal, just nice food and it was a shame that the lighting was so poor that we had to read the menu using the flashlight on our phones. Music was too loud to have a comfortable conversation. Overall, very disappointing.

Absolutely massive dining space and the modern feel takes away from the essence of Italian food, which should be experienced in a more intimate and communal setting. The lease would be hugely expensive and the quantity and quality of food was not that great. No gnocchi on the menu and no chilli oil was a massive let down. When comparing to the generosity and menu-thoughtfullness of Salt Meats and Cheese at Gasworks...Casa Cibo serves up dishes like the local Leagues Club.
Service was okay but the food was disappointing. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara and the eggs in the sauce were scrambled because the pasta was way too hot. Might have just been an off day in the kitchen but it seems like such a rookie error. A good Italian restaurant should be able to nail the basics every time.

Service was excellent, food was above average. Ok Italian, good for a shopping centre. Arancini balls were all good, bruschetta a bit too much cream cheese not enough tomato. Pastaā€™s were pretty good, dessert was excellent.
Guac&Roll
Relatively disappointing experience. A group of 6 of us dined and shared a couple of pizzas a few pastas and salads. The overall feeling on the food was that it was very bland and lacked any of the flavour you hope to get from good Italian. Itā€™s a great spot and we liked the venue itself so will probably give it another go next time we go see a movie or do some shopping and hopefully itā€™s a little better.

Really bland Italian food at this place, no seasoning at all and always receive really undercooked pasta. Their ragu is flavourless certainly not a proper rich ragu that's supposed to be cooked for hours, its just meat in this one added to a tomato base last minute by the taste of it.Ā Ordered this a few times always to be really disappointed. Not sure whats going on with this restaurant chef wise. But totally not authentic and completely bland food made.

After seeing videos from the we love brunch event on instagram, my girlfriends and I decided to give this place a go. Boy were we impressed! Cocktails are tasty and very reasonably priced (will have to come back for happy hour!!!), service was flawless (shoutout to Breanna!) and food was perfectly balanced (try the wagu salad!). Such an unexpected gem in Chermside shopping centre.

I read an article about the lamb ragu being slow cooked all night in their pizza oven and was intrigued. I paid $29 for a serving of the lamb ragu. What a complete waste of $29.. Even I can make better meals with leftover lamb, way better meals. Lamb was not melt in your mouth but extra chewy.. I believe it was just leftovers from days before just microwaved up for me. I am kicking myself for persisting and eating 3/4 of it and not sending it back for a refund. Save yourself time and money and don't bother with their lamb ragu.!!

Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Wait staff were helpful and attentive.

Only issue we had was on arrival as we were being seated we were asked 'Still or Sparkling' - we always say 'Still' because not everyone liked sparkling and we would prefer not to pay for water.

At the end well noticed the bill was $16 extra than expected because we have been charged for 2x $8 bottles of still water. We had not even had a chance to look at the menu when we were asked our water preference and if we had of known that each bottle was $8 we definitely would not have purchased them. I feel the intent with them asking before you've even seen the menu is a bit sneaky.

We stopped in for a quick refreshment after shopping in the centre on Sunday evening and chose to stay for a meal. We had a proseco to start with while we looked at the menu. The share board sounded too good to pass up - $12pp and great value. A serve of focaccia with oil and balsamic to share allowed us to use all the moreish whipped ricotta on the share board.
Mains were the half chicken and I had the spaghetti with prawn in fennel butter- so good. We had a glass of sparkling after that.
Really full after our dinner we decide to have something sweet at home but saw some of the other diners desserts as we left- they looked good! Service was efficient and not over done. Great spot with an upstairs where we chose to sit on the veranda with a view.

Went on a Friday night for some wine and dinner,
To be honest I am disappointed, the we were greeted as sat promptly then waited for ten - fifteen minutes until the floor manager rushed pasted and asked if we had been served a new waiter then came two our drinks order.

We had our ID checked twice by different employees however though the night they were watching and talking to eachother.

Food was average for the price, however for the dining style it was normal.

The dessert was asked the floor manager for the flavours of the ice cream we were quoted ā€˜Vanilla, Peanut butter and Lycheeā€™ , we asked for two lychee and vanilla. The Lychee tasted just like cinnamon.
Turns out when I paid the bill the ice cream flavours were Panacota, Apple Pie (explains the Cinnamon) and Vanilla.

Overall I was disappointed in the service, I understood the checking of ID once ( we were 19 & 20) however the service was lacking compared to service offered to the more senior patrons. Understandable if their bill was worth more, however our bill still came to $90 for the two of us - more than the older couple in front of us who was greeted and looked after I believe a lot better.

Visited here for a Saturday lunch with friends and were greeted by friendly staff. Throughout our dining experience, staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. We appreciated their suggestions on portion sizes and how much to order without feeling like they were trying to upsell us so that was a big plus!

We started with mocktails and wine. Being pregnant, I appreciate when places put time and effort in to making mocktails, although I do always find them quite expensive so still find them more of a treat than a regular purchase.

We decided to share different pizzas and a sharing plate ā€“ the pizza special which was duck and orange zest pizza; an eggplant vegetarian pizza; kale and polenta fries; and a meat, cheese and pickled vegetable share platter.

The duck pizza was quite literally duck and orange zest. It was tasty, however for the price of $26, I thought it was quite lacking in toppings. I enjoy ā€˜realā€™ Italian pizza with fewer toppings than the usual Aussie supreme, however thought this was disappointing. The eggplant pizza was nice, however needed a little longer in the wood-fired oven to melt the cheese a little more. The bases on the pizzas were really delicious, however I left disappointed with the toppings.

The share plate was nicely presented and full of delicious cheeses, cold meats and pickled vegetables. Iā€™m glad we only got it for two people, as there was more than enough for the group. The kale and polenta chips were also really nice ā€“ well seasoned, nice and crispy, however for $8, I thought the amount you received was quite small.

Overall it was a pleasant dining experience, nothing outstanding, just nice food. Prices seem quite high for some items however staff and ambience was nice.

Casa Cibo is such a good addition to Westfield Chermsideā€™s dining precinct!

Pros:
- restaurant ambience both internal and external is top notch
- waiters and waitresses are very friendly
- beautiful bar layout upstairs; highly recommend to book a table there if you can
- love love love the woodfired pizzas and pastas. Weā€™ve ordered caprisioca, Quattro formago and chicken pizza and lamb ragu and clam pastas and all of them were such a delight to eat!! All were gone by the end of the night after 6 adults munching of them!
- entree size pasta is enough serving for even 2 adults trust me šŸ‘ŒšŸ¼

Cons: (not much, this place is that good!)
- how I wish they have more of the classic Italian pastas such as carbonara and more meaty selection for pizzas
- they should include soft drink/ beer names and prices and dessert on the same menu

Tip: book ahead šŸ˜‰

Overall, we will definitely come back and try out your other meals!!

A new addition to the new food precinct at chermside westfield. This place was very inviting and had a good menu list with something a little different to each dish when compared to other italian restaraunts around. when going to an italian restaraunt for the first time we always try a pizza and a pasta. we had the 4 cheese pizza and it was šŸ‘ŒšŸ‘ŒšŸ‘Œ. the base held very well , fresh dough taste and topping spread nicely so every bite had all the flavours. The pasta was good overall a little bland but the pizza was the stand out for me. will come back again. šŸ‘.
Linna (Gluten Free)
3.5/5 for food, 4/5 for experience and service and the high variety of gluten free options

pollo arrosto (chicken pizza) on their gluten free base. chicken was definitely a let down. it was quite dry (as iā€™m sure they used the chicken breast). the base itself was decent although i usually prefer a thicker, crispier crust. the chilli and capsicum were nice additions but they unfortunately didnā€™t help disguise how plain and flavourless the chicken was. not a fave and if i come here again i would definitely order a different pizza

berry cheesecake (gluten free) was a great treat and imo worth its price. the only downside was the meringue which tasted burnt instead of toasted :( the base was also a lot less crunchier than usual cheesecakes although thatā€™s most likely because itā€™s gluten free and used almond meal (or something similar) instead of biscuits. still, i love cheesecakes, and i liked this berry cheesecake. it was a good portion to split between 2

1L orange cocktail (forgot the name, canā€™t find menu here) - tastes a lot like orange/citrus juice with a teeny bit of alcohol added. even though i had more than half i wasnā€™t tipsy or anything. great addition to the meal

service was friendly and the atmosphere and decor here is lovely. they even have a lift! i would criticise some of the architecture just because on the way up to the stairs it is possible to drop things into the kitchen area and that just bothers me in terms of cleanliness etc

My friend and I visited Casa Cibo on one of the first days it was open. We had a delicious meal and were particularly impressed by the pizza and dessert. The service was very friendly and I loved the grand design of the restaurant - it didnā€™t feel like we were dining at Chermside. I am definitely eager to return!

Fantastic atmosphere! Decided to stop in for a bit as this place was crowded! Nothing like sheep and following the herd! Food was good and tasted amazing! However price for quantity was disappointing. nice selection of wines and beers.

This place is a great new addition to Chermside! Had the lamb ragu and it was amazing! It just melts in your mouth! We tried a few of the pizzas too, loved the arancini and topped it off with one of their HUGE desserts! SO good, can't wait to go back!

Beautiful venue but sadly the food didn't live up to the name: Casa Cibo ... House of Food.Ā Ordered Arancini which arrived on a plate swimming in tomato sauce ... sadly straight from a bottle/tin.Ā Sauce was far too concentrated/strong.Ā My husband ordered a salami pizza ... it was tasteless and barely had any salami.Ā It was served on an aluminium tray which didn't seem to have been heated so resulted in the heat being sucked out of the pizza, which made it very chewy.Ā I ordered Lamb Ragu ... again lacked flavour.Ā Same situation with the tomato sauce, and found only ONE chunk of lamb in the middle, and consisted of way too much chopped carrot.Ā So disappointing to see such a lovely venue lacking good quality food.Ā However, the red wine we chose from Tuscany was wonderful.Ā Spent $75 ... sorry guys - won't be back.
