Review The Brasserie - Brisbane

It's a bit small and old fashioned, but if you can get past that smoothness, this is the best value place to stay. Excellent bed, linen, and has three pillows of different thickness so you Can use the one that best suits you. How thoughtful is that? No mini bar, but basic yes and coffee is there. It has 24 hour service that you order on a tablet. The best fish and chips ever. Great breakfast as well. Very courteous staff and front desk. Super helpful. Awesome experience.

The hotel was commissioned in the 60's but still a lovely place to stay. It has been very well maintained with appropriate upgrades. The room and bathroom were wonderful. All staff we met were friendly and keen to help. The breakfast is a good option also with fresh hot and cold food to select from. It is one of the best I have experienced. The lounge bar is good to catch-up for a quick drink and/or light meal. Will definitely revisit when I return to Brisbane.

This is a great option when staying in Brisbane. I chose this as it was across from the botanical gardens, try to get a higher level as to be above the tree line. I stayed on level 8 and it was a very nice view to wake up to. The outer building structure itself is aged, but has a seventies charm. Internally the fit out is borderline tacky, but somehow pulls off a old world charm with intricate carpets and cabinets with curiosities on display. The rooms are of a good size and beds extremely comfortable. I didn’t use the pool, but it looked quite nice. Conveniently located and priced well I would stay here again.

This is a classic good hotel. No wonder the rating is high. Complimentary drinks at the bar to relax. Room is clean and quiet. Nice amenity and yummy cookies everyday. And rates are very reasonable!!! Next to botanical garden. I’d love to stay here again :)

Old but classic. I am still checked in. The receptionist could be more friendly. My room heater was not working on my second night, I know because the room is not warming up like on my first night. Called the reception, they sent a portable heater but it was not working too. No apologies from any of then staff assisting me. I was expecting great things but so far I am dissappointed. Will try my best to keep myself warm with the portable heater they have provided. A 4 stars hotel should not give this kind of service to its guests. Never again! Never will I recommend this hotel at all.

Room was great, and facilities pretty good Stayed at this place for just the night on the weekend and it was pretty good. I have been to several conferences here, breakfasts but never stayed in the rooms. I managed to be upgraded to one of the spa suites which are very spacious, and the separate lounge and bedroom areas were great. The spa is not that big, but adequate if thats what you are looking for. The bed was comfortable, and the blackout curtains were great for a sleep in. The outdoor pool wasn't too bad, and the spa was ok but could have been a bit hotter in temperature. The pool bar service was a downer as they were still there, but not serving which wasn't very good customer service. Parking is available, but there doesn't seem to be a discount for hotel guests as public use this also so this is something the hotel could look at to entice people to come as its a bit steep for tight spaces and potentially outdoor parking depending on how full it is. Overall quite good, and would use again

Its a deceivingly wonderful hotel. So its old. Like 1969. And when you first walk in, the rich panelling and carpets feel outdated. But the premium rooms are updated and beautiful. And there is no better location in all of Brisbane. Right in front of the Botanical Gardens and on the back of the main downtown hip areas of pleasure. Stay here!

First time staying, was a lovely experience. Richard on reception was great, a real character & good sense of humor. Only disappointing thing was that bar closed around 10.30 (?), which after being out would of been nice to have a night cap. However, understand that it can't be open all hours
