Review Thai On High - Brisbane

Inika Inika
Rice disintegrated in the mouth, wouldn't be suprised to find out it had been sitting there since lunch. Entrees passable, chicken skewers tasted precooked and microwaved with a very nice sauce. Penang curry pretty good, Pad Thai tasted like bottle tomato sauce and noodles and sprouts overcooked. Food is hit and miss here. We are locals that have eaten here a handful of times. Will not be back.

decent casual thai place. ordered the chicken green curry with coconut rice which was great, the chicken wasnt anything special as it was rather plain but the curry itself and the vegetables was tasty. friends got the pad thai and pad see ew which they said was also good. what i dont like is that the dishes dont come with rice so we had to order it on the side. it ended up being 20 dollars for a curry and rice which is a bit expensive for thai food in my opinion. BYO option is available

Massaman beef curry had cheap meat that was terrible and 50% of it was onion. Actually there was so little meat that beef massaman curry was debatable Been going here frequently for the last 2 years but don’t appreciate being cooked good by amateurs that now run the kitchen

I've only had takeaway from Thai On High - I live very close by and it's easy to carry home. The restaurant seems nice and the staff are friendly, and I'd be happy to eat there but it. The food is what I'm more interested in! The noodles are good, an average Pad Thai and so on. That's good, not poor but not amazing. But when you order make sure you get a curry. The curries here are hands down the best I've had in Brisbane! Green, yellow, red - chicken, beef, prawn... all good!

Good food, but probably best to stick to takeaway. The dine-in experience wasn't great, as the few staff that were present seemed more interested in tending to takeaway orders than to our table. Dishes were slow to come out, and one was forgotten entirely. To be sure though, the food was good when it came.

The soup was good but I got a tom yum with vegetables which was meant to be 8.90 but I was charged $14 or $15 which I'm not impressed with because that's a big price difference. The server was not willing to drop the price even when I told her their menu says 8.90. It was a small bowl

Best thai I've ever had. Really nice and cozy family feeling diner. Got the fried rice and duck noodles and it was delicious! Couldnt recommend this place more!!

Ordered Thai on High through Deliveroo as I was really craving a massaman curry. When I received it along with the rest of my order (Coconut Rice and Satay Skewers) I was surprised to see nearly a third of the container full of oil/fat sitting on the top of the curry. I have ordered this curry from many other Thai restaurants in Brisbane and never seen this ever before. I am not sure if it was the cut of beef that caused this or something else, however I thought I would still try it. Even after trying to remove as much oil as possible it was still very greasy and didn't make for a pleasant meal. I ended up throwing away the massaman and just eating the chicken skewers and coconut rice which was delicious.

I came here in a group of 4 so we got 4 dishes and shared them and they were all delicious.
I'd give a 4.5 or 5 but the service was pretty much non-existent. We had to go up to the cashier to order and to ask for things like water and serviettes.
Food was great though and that's what counts.

In my opinion Thai on High is literally the best Thai in Brisbane!! I recommend their panang curry. They also have some of the most lovely and welcoming staff out!

We visit this restaurant frequently and it never ever disappoints us. The food tastes amazing, the price and location can't be faulted and the staff are so sweet and friendly.

We did wait a while for our meals last night (about 30 minutes) but the server was honest and very apologetic about why our meals were late to the table (entrees were late because one of the cooks forgot our order - oopsy!). I thought it was a very nice gesture that they waived the cost of the entrees as a way of apologising. My pad thai was awesome - definitely one of the best pad thai I've had and I've been to a lot of thai restaurants! The portions are so big! We will continue to come back because Thai on High rocks my socks!

Been here plenty of times and never a bad experience. Thought tonight was going to be my first when the entrèe seem to take its time until we got an apology and didn't get charged for entree because of the extended wait, great work guys!!! The pad chilli is amazing just wished it had more spice behind it. Will always recommend thai on high.

I had been here when first visited brisbane. Not too big malaysian food lover or expert but found pad thai good. The second time when we visited the pai thai n soup was okay but not to the expectation

We used to live around the neighborhood but have since moved to Sunnybank where there are more Thai restaurants around. We still come back here to get proper Thai food as they have the best tasting Thai food in Brisbane. The people are friendly and service is fast.

Sawatdi crap!. I have been to Thailand numerous times--in fact, we just came from a week there. If you are seeking the real taste of Thailand, or even just a reasonably close facsimile, you will NOT find it at this restaurant. My wife's pad thai was awash with something that sort of resembled sweet chili, and what should have been a very simple fried rice contained some mystery ingredient that actually made me feel ill after a few bites.

Yes, we're the couple that visited you on the evening of 18 April 2015--the ones who got up after about 3 minutes, paid the checque, and departed with nary a word, leaving behind most of what we'd been served. Leaving this review just in case that didn't send a clear enough message.

Been there on 3 occasions. First visit was great. The salt and peper prawn were out of this world. Second visit we ordered the prawns again and it was very disappointing. It was obvious that it was cooked by a different chef. Everything was very bland. Tonight we went there for the third time. The prawns were just as good if not better as the first time but the pad Thai was bland and tasteless and the brownie chicken wings were something I would never order again.

Hard to find a Thai place that is better than the plethora of mediocre suburban Thai restaurants but this one manages to step up above most places. Not amazing but better than average, reasonably priced and fast friendly service.

Disappointing. Based on the many positive reviews I had high hopes that this might fit the bill as a great local Thai. Unfortunately it doesn't.

The green curry contained hardly any chicken and was mostly sauce, the yellow curry was bland and insipid and the and rice was overcooked.

Thai Mali in Camp Hill knocks spots off this place.

Nowhere better. Have been eating this food somewhat frequently for 6+ years and have to say everything is always delicious. Great value for money. We have moved to the other side of town and still come here, as we can't find anything as good on the northside. My favourite is the tofu salad and Pad thai with prawns - it always has at least 6 really large prawns. Delicious food.

Great value. 2 girls, $15 each, we shared pork pad Thai, beef massaman curry and plain rice. Ample food!! Quick and tasty. (always a good sign to see the staff eating at their own restaurant too!). Will return.

Cheap and Tasty. Tasty Thai which is very cheap, Had the Panang Prawns which had a perfect balance of sweet coconut milk and chilli, got 8 Large prawns and plenty of fresh vegetables with rice for under $20, with a group of 5 others who all enjoyed the meal thouroughly, one friend even suggested its "the best Red Duck Curry" he's ever eaten. Recommend

Great suburban takeaway Thai! Definitely take the time to grab a beer at Pear across the street while waiting for your meal. Well priced, excellent and attentive service.

Do not recommend. Went there some years ago and thoroughly enjoyed experience and food.
We wnet back 3weeks ago & I feel owners have since changed and these people have little interest in their customers nor do they have any idea about the niceties of hygiene. eg. when cutlery was brought to the table, everything was handled from the end that goes into one's mouth and the plates were dirty.
Then plates were put on the table and the food was brought out. The staff member decided that we did not need the smaller plates and proceeded to remove them from the table as we began eating. Unfortunately, my daughter had already served her food onto one of these smaller plates so what food was on that plate was then tipped out by the waitress onto the larger plate below. As soon as we began to eat our meal, the bill was brought out. There was no consideration that we may have ordered a dessert aafter we had eaten so we decided that they obviously wanted to be rid of us quickly so we left as soon as our main meals were finished.
While we were eating, we watched a kitchenhand chopping vegetables and then putting some into her mouth, by hand, as she worked. Will not be going back - service was ordinary to below par; hygiene dreadfula nd food ordinary.

Diana. Average Thai, but usually fresh & reasonably priced, have to order extra chilli to get it hot.

Very fast and clean fresh food.

Different yet tasty. I'll give Thai on High a decent 7.8/10. Although I wouldn't compare it to most Thai places, because the flavours aren't very "Thai", but they were quite tasty.

Pad Thai is probably one of my favourite Thai food, but this was the first spicy Pad Thai I've ever eaten. I'm not sure if I agree with the previous person saying that it was the best Pad Thai. It was missing the crushed peanuts and some other bits on the side.

I'd have to agree though on the Red Wine Chicken Wings. They were quite tasty :) The portion wasn't so big, but at least it tasted great!

The curries aren't as hot/spicy as most Thai curries, but again they were quite flavoursome.

I ordered coconut rice to go with the dishes. I'd have to say I dislike it, because it was very sweet and it doesn't quite go with the savoury dishes.

I do think the food are quite healthy as they use no MSG and they're not very oily.

Good honest, cheap Thai... Love the open kitchen, nothing to hide here.

Away with pretension and fuss!. Revisited again and wondered why I have neglected this old friend. Food is different from many other Thai places. Not much chilli but flavoursome ...and that suits me. Casual and often busy. Good food variety, lots of fishy dishes, and speedy service. A reliable, cheap, comfortable, relaxed, local suburban eatery. Bottlo next door, and buy an ice-cream from the Night Owl to finish.

Best Pad Thai I've had. I have only had take away from here so can't comment on the restuarant aspect but this place has great pad thai!

Simple yet effective. I like this place.
Good location.
Good Service.
Good Takeaway.
The food is terrific. Simple dishes with fantastic tastes!
Consistent as well!
Casual and simple atmosphere, but you dont go there for the atmosphere.

Excellent Thai cuisine. Very well priced for the budget conscious. I try the deep fried marinated chicken wings in spicy Thai sauce or red wine sauce everytime I visit. Must try it.

I ordered my favourite - the Tom Yum soup with Prawns for starters. This always seems to magically stimulate my taste buds and I felt 10 times better afterwards
