Coco Jungle is our favourite restaurant at Sunnybank Plaza and we visit every 6 weeks. We love the Food & Drinks Menu and the cheery staff here. Warmly greeted we seat ourselves and we are promptly served with our yummy Mocktails.
My medium-rare Rump Steak served with crisp hot Chips and a tossed Salad is delicious! Phuong Tran’s Eggs Benedict comes with a generous serve of Smoked Salmon which she enjoys. Another great meal guys! Thank you!
Coco Jungle is my favourite dessert place at Sunnybank! Their desserts taste great and are wuite decent sizes. Well presented and brought out relatively quickly. A unique ambiance in an accessible location in the shopping centre. Overall a great place - highly recommended!

I was tempted by the lunch special signage sitting at the front door of this eatery and gave it a go. Have not been back for nearly three years, nothing has been changed including the freezing temperature in the dining area. I felt like sitting in a fridge. Ordered the steak sandwich and a can of soft drink from the friendly staff. It took reasonable timeframe to have the food on my table. Well, it looks great with a basket of chips and two cut in half sandwiches. Ingredients of the sandwich are no doubt with two pieces of steaks but also have plenty of cheese, greens and tomatoes. I would not expect the steak will come from a nice portion so they are passable. Overall taste is balanced and the CP ratio sounds good. I was very full when I stepped out of the café.

It was my fault to go to a dessert lounge for a savory lunch yesterday because I was attracted by its promotional poster at the shop front. The venue was a very cold jungle and we ordered the Seafood Spaghetti and the Sunshine Duck Confit. Pasta was the hero of the day but the sauce was too watery and I did not like to get rid of the beard from the mussels by myself. Duck was totally let down. It was too salty and dry. Free desserts of Churros and Waffles did not gain back any mark. They were totally disappointed, no crispy but very hard pastry. Review's mark of 3.0 is purely for the friendly waitress' service.
Came here with a friend for coffee & hot chocolate . My flat white was very good with great strength & no bitterness & my friend enjoyed her delectably creamy smooth, classic Italian hot chocolate. Only problems we had was finding a clean unoccupied table, other than that serving of our drinks was pretty fast
We have been to Coco Jungle many many times for desserts or morning or afternoon tea. They serve up a great tasting soy Chai latte and delicious chocolate fondues or Dutch pancakes. I've only ever eaten lunch here twice Ages ago and both times it was quite nice. Special $10 Spaghetti Bol and a main menu spec Beef Burger.
They don't offer a whole lot for vegetarian people (3 items out of at least 40 exc. kids menu) which is why our visits are always before or after lunch and is also why I've given max of 4 stars.
Great level Service, decor, ambience and prices are all well above expectations.
And they sell churros!!! With hot chocolate sauce and fresh fruit to dip with.
I've avoided this place for years because of the name and jungle themed decor.
I managed to get a Groupon deal for 2 hot chocolates and a shared dessert for $15, a saving of $13 so this was a good opportunity to try this place.
We got the fondue with Dutch pancakes, banana bread, marshmallows, strawberries and bananas. We enjoyed it, it's fun, the Dutch pancakes were the standout but the range of offerings for the fondue meant that it wasn't sickly. Portion size was spot on with no fondue chocolate to spare after we ate the last thing on the plate. The hot chocolate was nice, it's not as good as Lindt or Max Brenner but it was pleasant enough to not make me crave something different.
Be careful about what you choose as some things are made in house (Dutch pancakes, home made waffles) whereas other things are bought (Belgian waffles). The lady on the counter couldn't tell me if the churros were bought or made on premises.
I had a fantastic lunch at Coco Jungle. I ordered the vegetable green curry and it was exactly as I expected. Probably the only disappointing aspect was a lack of protein. Some chick peas or tofu could have easily corrected this. Still, the flavour was lovely. Service was good too. However, I was provided with a free dessert of churros with ice cream and it is the worst I've ever had. The churros were chewy and bland and the ice cream was more ice than cream - bland except for the taste of fake vanilla flavouring. They really shouldn't bother offering these desserts unless they are good, especially given that desserts are meant to be a speciality. I'm not sure why they'd want to put their name to this disappointing offering. This place is a great addition to an otherwise bland selection of food court offerings but it probably depends what you order.
This is an awesome place to have some Coco based desserts and drinks ! Had many of them before but maybe stay away from their main courses. Highly recommended , especially when there's not many dessert place around the southside

I've always wanted to try this place for the desserts but I was never in the mood to go whenever we came to the shopping centre until we finally tried it out this afternoon. It was a wonderful experience and largely due to the excellent man that was working on the counter this afternoon. He was friendly, humorous and so attentive to all the customers.
We ordered the chocolate fondue for one, banana bread, a pot of tea and a picnic choc shake and it came to $30 for everything. I'm glad we ordered the fondue for one because it was so filling that we couldn't even finish it all. The picnic shake was delicious as well and the tea was beautifully presented. I was really surprised that the Dutch pancakes that came with the fondue tasted as good as the ones I make at home (maybe better) and I really want to try a whole Dutch pancakes dessert next time.
The value for money is great with their desserts costing far less than other places but still maintaining the same quality and better than most places. This is definitely my new favourite place for desserts.
Was nice to go to a cafe and the barista made me a Long Black with beautiful cream , loved the breakfast and the fast service. Will return with friends and family.
We did enjoy dessert here even though they might use chocolate syrup instead of straight chocolate. It's very quiet and I could see it would be spacious enough for families / prams. The menu is really diverse so might come back and try other items
I really enjoy coming here because of the large choice of foods. Unlike other chocolate lounges/cafes, Coco Jungle has a range of breakfast food and a lunch menu if you don't want a sweet snack. The dessert and chocolate menu is fantastic there is a great variety foods and some great creations!
Delicious affordable desserts that are ridiculously photogenic! I'm not sure why the previous reviewer has indicated the small serving sizes because as you can see in the pictures.. They're massive.

Sunnybank Regular. I wanted a chocolate fix and remebered seeing this place. let me just say that i have been there twice in one week. Serving sizes are huge except the crepes but service is good. You wouldnt expect a place like this in a foodcourt but hey its sunnybank anything goes. 9/10 from me. I reccomend the dutch pancakes.
Very cute for a shopping centre eatery.. The place is cute. It seems out of place to be in the food court of the Sunnybank Plaza. My partner, 2 friends and I went there with the Scoopon deal last night. We were one of 2 people in the whole place; bearing in mind it was 7pm on a Tuesday. We ordered the trio of dips and the salt & pepper calamari. Overall it was pretty good. Some of the squid was undercooked and hard. The bread and dips were nice. For $7.90each I think that's pretty good value.
For the Scoopon side of things we got 1 meal to share between each couple. We got the Fondue and Belgium waffles. The fondue was great. Everything was fresh and tasty. The waffles seemed to be very nice too, they were polished off.
The only down side to the night was lack of service. After our starters we sat with dirty dishes until the desserts came out.

Give this place a go it was prity good it has high chairs for young kids we had no problem with our 2 and 3 year olds had a great dinner pork snitzel special and chicken snitzel salad was tasty n fresh chips where ok the aioli was nice also service was fast left with very full belly after we had fondue for 2 also if u can eat all this u won't be hungry for a long time good quality n fresh the hot chocolate drinks where the best I've had border line rich but not over the top also

Pleasantly surprised.. Was a bit worried having read the reviews but needn't have been. The girls behind the counter were all pleasant and lovely, guess we were lucky as Mr Unpleasant wasn't around I guess. We went with a voucher and they even offered an extra fondue fork for our friend to share our 'fondue for two' as well. The hot chocolates were gorgeous, didn't have a tonne of sugar, at least I didn't think so. The fondue was great, the bananas/strawberries/mini pancakes/banana bread/marshmallows were great for dipping. Perfect amount of chocolate too. We really loved it. Our friend got a Mocha Coffee and said it was hot and tasty. Don't drink coffee so can't comment. Lovely atmosphere. We'll be going back for sure.

It's the only chocolate place on the south side so I go there for my chocolate fix. It's ok, I love churros but for a chocolate place, they need to provide more chocolate for dipping with the fondue

If this place does not shut down in the next six months, I will become a victim of obesity. Despite the negative reviews, I have been here several times since I discovered it two months ago and it hasn't disappointed me yet.
It's local unlike going to somewhere like max Brenner, and the atmosphere is great.
Their Customer service isnt very professional and some staff ain't very friendly. The wait for food has never been too long.
My absolute favourite is the Dutch pancakes. They are a must! the waffles are great too. I do find them abit dry but some people enjoy them like that.
All meals are over loaded with fruit.
The dipping fondue wasn't too great. The Banana bread was quite horrible..
I wouldn't bother with the fondue if you are getting waffles or churrus with dipping, because they come with a good serving of fruit (banana/strawberries).
Waffles are about 14$ for one or 18 for two people. I usually like to go with a group and order abit of everything and split the cost.
As for their non chocolate meals... I'm too scared to try them. Something tells me I will be disappointed haha
The staff comes across as abit careless, so I do worry and wonder about their hygiene levels.. But havnt had any issues yet.
Overall I enjoy coco jungle and have become a regular. Some days it exceeds my expectations. Other days, it makes boarder line. Dont expect too much, and you won't be disappointed :)
First time at coco jungle found the place the most enjoyable place to enjoy desert after a movie .:-D Would like to thank the girl with blond short hair your services on helping me choose the best tasting desert yet. And also to the waitress who came to the table with a big smile. Made mine and my husbands night . Will deff be coming back good work guys :-D

Despite the mixed reviews, I quite enjoyed my afternoon at coco jungle. Really unique and nice decor. Ordered a Belgium waffle for two (came with 3 waffles, choc sauce, strawberries and banana) for $18 and a "level 1" hot chocolate. Waffles were amazing, nice and chewy and not overly sweet like the ones at max Brenner. Hot chocolate was really rich (can't imagine what level 3 would be like .....). Overall, a really good place to eat and catch up with friends :) defs will come back !!

Such a charming, quiet little coffee shop. I am absolutely in love with te tastefully done jungle theme, everything is so well thought out from the reeds on the booth tables to the amazing wall paper. This would be the perfect place for an intimate coffee date or catch up with friends.
The staff are friendly and fast, little bit of a language barrier but nothing a smile can't fix. I got the coffee and cake deal for $6.90, they let me pick any cake I wanted and then served it on a gorgeous plate with ice cream, strawberries and chocolate sauce, my cappuccino had little chocolate hearts on the top. I have honestly never gotten such special little details put in when I'm not spending much.
I can see myself easily becoming a regular, it's such a great place! They have gluten free options in their ale cabinet too! (Not signed the server just let me know.) And their cakes look so good! The menu is a bit pricy but the deals are fab!

Good range of dessert. Like others have said it's great to have a sweet addition to Sunnybank (especially a Western style dessert - there's plenty of great Asian dessert places already).
The interior and feel of Coco Jungle is jazzy and cosy, perfect for chilling out and catching up with friends. They have over 2 dozens flavours of Italian hot chocolate (where you can pick the thickness of the drink) and they also have Belgian hot chocolate as well as your usual cafe drinks.
They have churros, cake pops, poffertjes, crepes, waffles & fondues. If you're after some chocolatey goodness without the carbs, you can even just order fruits with chocolate.
We ordered Waffles for One plate ($14) and coffee + churros ($6.50). The waffles, although on the pricey side, was great. It came with 2 small discs of belgian waffles (very similar to Max Brenner's) and topped with cut pieces of strawberries, bananas and chocolate, served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. The coffee & churros came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
The churros are definitely better than San Churros churros, not oily and burnt. Perhaps, like the others have said, it needed a bit more cooking, but the taste was still good.
I'll definitely come back to try the rest of the stuff. Soon, they'll be having savoury food as well. So what if the price range is on par with Max Brenner, San Churros and the like. The food tasted great and I don't have to line up for an hour to order. It's a win!
The atmosphere is fun and decorative. The food is good, nice sweets. We ordered the Dutch mini pancakes for 1 and the dipping churros for 1. It was me and my 11 year old son and we were full and left food on the plate. It's great to see a different food place in Sunnybank that doesn't cater to the savory fast food stuff. Well done Cocoa Jungle!!
