Prices have gone up since the photos were last loaded. They seemed to be having a really bad night as we waited over 45 minutes for 2 meals when it was supposed to be 20 mins. The rice was dry unfortunately. BBQ pork bun was rock hard. Garlic beef had a nice flavour but wouldn’t write home about it. Honey chicken was decent. Probably wouldn’t go back.

I gave this one a try because of the excellent Google reviews. I ordered a Beef with Black Bean, a Sweet and Sour Pork and a Fried Rice. Unfortunately, very disappointed. The beef was very dry and overcooked, and the sauce is very salty. The pork was small; I am eating batter the entire time. The fried rice was the worst out of the three. It was so greasy , salty and crusty. Disgusting.
NEVER GOING BACK AGAIN !!!! Worst Chinese I have ever had. Stay away from it.

Was served by a lovely lady, and the food was really yummy too. Thanks

Seriously the worst experience I have had in a while. I was craving fried rice, so I stopped in to grab a quick container to go. The special fried rice did not have a single vegetable in it, only a few chunks of old chicken and pork. The rice was clearly old and crusty. Disgusting. Never going back!

Had fried rice, honey chicken and wontons. The rice was the worst part, it had an odd moldy smell and looked really old. Honey chicken was good and the wantons were average. The lady who I'm assuming was the owner was very nice

In the scheme of things, everything was a bit average. Special fried rice was pretty dry and flavourless, but the steamed dim sims were good. Probably wouldn’t go back.

Got the Szechuan beef special last night. The beef was quite good, but very hard to find amongst all the vegetables. The rice that came with the meal was horrible though, they made a mistake with one of the items in our order, then to top it all off they nearly short-changed us $10 as well. Maybe it was a bad night but I can't see myself eating from there again.

I went take away for lunch today. Really love the spring rolls, fried tofu with salt&pepper, sweet and sour pork. Owner really friendly, highly recommend.
She said they open everyday even Easter holiday, and no surcharge!!!
Just one thing to remind its NBN landline had some problems so the landline cannot received calls and EFTPOS unable to use.
Just walk in to get your yummy meals. (next door has a CBA ATM, I went cash out there).

Understated excellence! It doesn't look like anything special from the street, but magic comes out of the kitchen. The best authentic, fresh, tasty and non-greasy Chinese food I have ever had! Vegetarian options are plentiful- the salt and pepper tofu is absolutely amazing. The service is welcoming and friendly- customers are treated like family. I will definitely be back!

If you haven't been I suggest you try... Much better than the City One around the corner. honey Prawns are amazing, large fresh good quality Prawns I wasn't expecting when you see the interior of this shop. The peking beef is the dish everyone should try, it's sweet, tangy, sticky beef strips fried to perfection. The owner is so lovely and when were latw last time she recooked our food despite us telling her no need, just to ensure perfection. The price is only slightly up compared to some of the more popular ones around but I swear for good reason. You will not be disappointed!

Howah Cafe - Holland Park, Brisbane. As one of many Chinese takeaways on the South side, Howah Cafe is hidden amongst a row of shops (that vary in size) on Logan Road. It may take a bit to find it if not looking for it or something to eat. It is awkward to get to for drivers, and not located on a street that would probably suit it more. If you are looking for something to eat, there are plenty of options (multiple of this cuisine included) around which I would suggest considering instead of going here.

The interior looked somewhat indecisive, whether it was a take-away, a small eatery or a stall. I admit it was nice looking at the tank of fish and with reading materials while you waited for your order. However, the place is in need of some sort of inspiration for interior to give it character.

The main waitress there was not unfriendly, but seemed vague at times. Overall though, she was efficient and did her job.

I got a meal off the lunch specials board, BBQ pork with plum sauce on fried rice. While I will give credit for there not being an overkill on the plum sauce - you could definitely taste it but it was not the dominant taste - and that the rice was decently cooked the dish was overall fairly disappointing. The pork was sometimes decent but mostly overcooked and had the old texture to it. There could also have been a reduction in the amount of onion used in the dish. Afterwards, I felt too much of an oily aftertaste.

There are many Chinese/pan-Asian restaurants around the place. While most have a menu that looks very similar to each other some are better than others. Howah is unfortunately, not one of them. I am glad I tried it, but I will not be returning.
