Review Naples Pizzeria - Brisbane

David Woods
Have you ever said to yourself "man, I love the pizza I get from my favourite Pizzeria, but I wonder if there's a place out there that can improve on the masterpiece that is my go to pizza"? Well wonder no more. After having their pepperoni pizza I realised it was close to the best pizza I've had. And then the next thing I had the bolognese pizza and realised that WAS the best pizza I've ever had... And then the next time I had the spaghetti bolognese calzone. And omfg... It took things to a whole new level. So then I added extra cheese and pineapple. Lol I'm going to get so fat. This is just ridiculously good. Also my partner is gluten free and agrees that the gf base is excellent. Note to Naples: just remember to mark the box that is GF! This was a real concern when we both ordered the same pizza.

20+ yrs ago we would get Naples pizza from the Pizzeria in West Ashgrove. It was such great pizza. The other month after discovering Naples in Grange I ordered again for the first time in 20yrs. I was not disappointed. Glad to see that quality, authentic, Italian pizza still exists. My main review of Naples Pizza was posted on a business account because Google switched my accounts without telling me. Thanks Google. Here's that review: Have you ever said to yourself "man, I love the pizza I get from my favourite Pizzeria, but I wonder if there's a place out there that can improve on the masterpiece that is my go to pizza"? Enjoyed hot and fresh pizza last nite. MUST add a delicious garlic bread to the amazing pizza.Staff friendly. Parking available behind shop plus 1 out front on days road for convenience. Will be returning.

We have been coming here for take away pasta for three years. Always fantastic. We need gluten free and staff are happy to oblige. Reasonably priced and generous serves. Highly recommend.

Honestly best pizzas out there. I get the 3 cheese pizza with pepperoni every time, I cant get enough of it. And the bases are out of this world. Please don't change anything ever!

The pizza is good and fresh, the service is great and very friendly. The price is good. Just go !

Paid $28 for a supposed Chicken Parma that basically had no Chicken. Plenty of Breadcrumb/Cheese/Sauce. Never Again total waste of money. Wouldn’t feed it to my dog! Bought a pizza…base dry and crust hard as. Lucky the topping was ok

Very friendly service when we called in to order pizza on the way home from a function. Waited over 25 minutes which I was happy with. Until we opened the pizza boxes when we got home. Every pizza burnt. Garlic bread burnt on one side and undercooked on other. Sad really because bases good and flavours were there somewhere under the char. Can’t work out how to give 2.5.

One of the best lasagnas my husband and I have had in Australia! We had a take away from deliveroo and once we bit into it we re ordered another two immediately! So delicious, not creamy, just enough cheese and rich in sauce!

Legendary place. Worth driving from far to try their pizza. Few times vouchers have been given at our business networking, as a result price for participation to be redeemed at this place, everyone was very very happy.

I read the reviews below after I ordered my pizzas from Naples however whilst I was waiting I read them all and couldn't help but laugh because everything seemed to match up. Cheap tasting pizzas, however over priced with strange vibes and what I can only describe as the closest thing to home brand pizza. I'll get Domino's next time.

Honestly I've given Naples so many chances... Their pizzas are better than average; however, out of the last 4 times I've been there, I've had the wrong order once, 2 orders that was completely skimped on toppings. Each time I've come here (except today the young girl was really trying) I've felt I've been an inconvenience to them - very rude and dismissive!!! I've now been standing outside the shop for 40min AFTER coming 40min after I've ordered - and still don't have my order!!! Unfortunately that's it from me - there are too many other good Italian and pizza places in the area.

This place is the best! Not only is the mushroom pizza drool worthy but I asked them to do a pizza with happy birthday on it and they actually arranged happy birthday in dough on top of the pizza! The best

We ordered garlic bread, a small "Charles" pizza and the Napolitana pasta. The garlic bread was nice but you could get the same from the supermarket. My dining partner enjoyed the pizza. My meal was nice, but nothing amazing and the portion size was far to small for the price.

Average experience. Normal supermarket garlic bread. Tasteless pizza. Overpriced for what it was worth. I would rather get dominos to be honest.
My friend and I tried to eat that this joint tonight however despite several attempts we couldn't get any service, no glasses, menus or dinnerware let alone even any acknowledgement we were even there. What's worse is they were half full, the staff were just serious dimwits, I cannot imagine the food could be any better. I do not understand how a place this good at what they do could be still in business. Truly pathetic. Avoid like the plague!

ordered pizza, pasta and a garlic bread. The pizza was average. No salt, pepper or herbs on the pizza making it very bland. The pasta was also average. I would not run back.

Quick service with consistently delicious authentic Italian pasta dishes. Well priced drinks and always a smile from the lovely owner Anna!!

Excellent food, service and quality! Always come here and always leave very satisfied and happy. Great pastas and pizzas, seriously cannot recommend enough.

Went to Naples to eat in and got rudely asked to move tables, the waitress then proceeded to make loud comments to kitchen staff about our choice of seating. Felt so unwelcome that we chose not to stay and will not be returning. With so many pizza options in the suburb they should be more welcoming to those that enter the door!

Ordered for the first time so review based on that. Got a family sized pepperoni and a large Charles for the girlfriend pickup.

Advised 30 mins. Pizza was out of the oven at 40 but the place was literally full and the pizza oven was full so fair enough.

Pizza was mahooosive (teenage mutant turtles size) and yum. Large is easily enough but I was in a gluttonous mood. Now this is only one order but this is easily my now go to pizza place. Easily beats the crap that is Dominos etc... Will see if future experiences reflect some of the more negative reviews here.

Hugely disappointing. We were extremely disappointed with our order from Naples Pizzeria tonight. We paid $50 for two pizzas, and waited 75 minutes for them to be delivered. Upon delivery our complimentary garlic bread was missing, but the delivery driver simply asked 'if that was a problem' and said he'd let his boss know. The pizzas themselves were entirely below standard, greasy, thick, chewy, and clearly not made with fresh pizza dough. We still have two pizzas pretty much totally in tact, which should speak volumes coming from three people whom were starving hungry and waited nearly an hour and a half. On a positive note, the gentleman who answered the phone when we called to complain was apologetic, but said there was nothing he could do. Completely unacceptable from a so-called 'pizzeria'.

I've always stood up for this place, despite the bad reviews and the bad customer service we almost every time we go there (more about that later), but today I ordered my usual vegetarian meal and it was full of meat! I was horrified, and in my opinion, this is inexcusable. This is the closest restaurant to our house, and I'm so disappointed to have had such a bad experience with it.

As for the customer service, the people who answer the phone are surly, I've often been made to wait a ridiculously long time to pay without so much as a sorry, I've ordered food at the restaurant and waited for it there without anyone bothering to tell me when it was ready, and I've witnessed staff there having arguments with people over the phone in front of customers which is extremely unprofessional.

The food is generally ok, but they really need to work on their customer service.

Forever dissapointed. My family has been going to Naples pizza for years! My father became obsessed with the place, when we had a birthday meal there one year. The quality used to be of some substance, but over the years the service and quality have become sun standard for the prices still being charged.

This place never answer their phone, when they do it is rarely professional or welcoming. The pizza is always undercooked, cold or the toppings wrong.

It's a shame to see a place that used to bring such welcoming memories disintegrate to the mucky disappointment it has come to today. Clearly a few management issues that either need to re-evaluate taste, quality and price or perhaps if the passion is no longer there decide it's time to give it up, so that my father can stop clinging onto the hope that one day it will get better.

A hidden review on facebook.. leads to review left on urban spoon.. This is the review that I placed on Naples Facebook page, and then they decided to hide it from all others to see it. It read as follows:
We order pizza from Naples whenever family is in town because its the closest to authentic Italian we have found in Brisbane so far. However the last few times our orders have been incorrect - and by incorrect I mean ingredients put on pizzas that we have specifically asked for without due to allergies, and therefore the family members could then not eat certain pizzas, very disappointing.
My partner and I thought we would give it another chance tonight and ordered a pepperoni and ham and pineapple pizza on gluten free bases. We were shocked when we were told it was $44 for two pizzas!! There was a bald man making the pizzas that overhead us being confused and he just shrugged and said (very rudely) "it's gluten free". I understand that it is more expensive to have gluten free bases but to be charged $4 per base is a bit outrageous as well as having to pay for a large because that's the only size it comes in. Please make your pricing of gluten free more accessible on your website as we went in after ordering on the phone (not being told how much it would be when hanging up) thinking it would be the $13 price disclosed with the surcharge of gluten free on top of that price.
Extremely disappointed. You will be lucky if we come back. Take some pride in your customer service and business operations.

Delicious. We live a few k's away and love this as our take away pizza place. Much better than other chain options. The food is fresh, consistent and tasty.

Please improve!. This place is less than a kilometre from my house, it's in a very convenient spot and business should be booming!
The pizza is just average unfortunately - just bland with dough flavour base.
To the owners, I'm not trying to be horrible here, suggest you go and try the pizzas over at pizza emporium grange and do an honest appraisal. I'm hoping you guys lift the standard as you are my local and from reading others reviews others feel the same way! :-)
I think you could put your prices up accordingly if the pizza is awesome no one minds paying more for it!

Inedible pasta anyone?. We ordered a vegetarian pasta dish that was described to have "a beautiful medley of seasonal vegetables". Expecting pasta with fresh veggies, it was completely made with pickled vegetables and capers - seasonal?! You can buy those in a jar! It was absolutely disgusting and we could not bring ourselves to eat it, even the smell was sickening. Not to mention the long waiting time. Very disappointing.

This will be our last order with Naples. Having previously enjoyed takeaway from Naples we thought we would order delivery this time. We ordered through menu log and got a response advising a one hour wait for deliveries, which even then is a lot. Ended up waiting 90 mins for one pizza and one pasta, both of which were nowhere near the standard previously set by Naples the last time we ate there (roughly 6 months ago). As much as I try to support local businesses I think next time I want delivery I will be going with somewhere more reliable.

Getting worse. I have ordered take away from this business for many years even when it was owned by Di Bella. It used to be amazing then, but unfortunately even after repeatedly trying to keep giving this place a chance with the new owners I have found that the food has been disappointing. I live less than 1 klm away and delivery is always more than an hour. They continually bring me the wrong soft drink ordered, forget olives on my foccacia ordered and the pasta never tastes the same. Last one had no taste and the pasta was overcooked. Even the dog didn't want it. The guy who answered the phone to take my order was rude and gave me a sarcastic high pitched laugh when ordering because I said can I please order takeaway (delivery please). The food is overpriced for the quality. My last order last saturday night is definately my last..no more chances.

Better than any 'fast food' pizza. Speedy delivery and lovely staff.

Poor service and care little for customers. Been eating in and take away for past 7 years and progressively getting worse. They have twice forgotten extra topping paid for and offered no discount but offer you to return and wait for them to remake your pizza. Sometimes pizza base not cooked. And tonight waiting for delivery which they said within hour, taken 1hr 30 so far and just making 2nd phone call to them. Disgraceful!

Best pizza in brisi

Ok... Bit overpriced and pretty standard pizza. Huge anchovies made it very very salty. Room for improvement but place full of character. They just need an Italian chef to change up the recipe and make the dough from scratch! :)
Cuisine Craig
Great toppings on a pizza base that can only be described as cardboard.
Never again!

Disgusted. Ordered a pizza, pasta and garlic bread. The garlic bread might as well have been a brick wrapped in foil. The beef ragu had one piece of beef and the pizza revoltingly oily and cold in parts. We had ordered many times before and been happy until this evening. We rang to give feedback and they argued with us, Definately will not be going back!

Grunted at by staff member, who appeared to be the owner or manager. Not one ounce of customer service, a smile or basic manners.
The pizza was average, sparse with toppings & a bit doughy. Overall experience was not good.
Will not go back.

Despite living less than 2km away it took 55 mins for the meal to turn up. The quality of the food was average. Not bad, but not great. We had 2 pastas, vesuvio and Neapolitana and also a garlic bread. The vesuvio was ok, heavily oiled with plenty of olives. Strong flavors, minimal meat and consequently the sauce was quite runny. The neopolitana was pretty bland with soft flavours. Couldn't taste any herbs or garlic in either. Both pastas came in the usual plastic take away containers. Garlic bread was disappointing. Thought being an Italian place it would be real garlic bread but it was same as you'd get from dominoes or Pizza Hut. Overall it was no better than you'd get by doing it yourself by pouring a bottle of pre made pasta sauce from the supermarket. Might try their pizzas next but won't be back for pasta.

The best gluten free in Brisbane! Finally a pizza joint that cares about making quality gluten free pizzas. We had gluten free pasta as well delicious. Well done guys you have made this household very happy.

Unique... Not in a good way.. Well I've never had a pizza place tell me to go home and cook my own garlic bread before. Yep, 'Just give that five minutes in the oven when you get home'... Couldn't believe it. Err, that's what I'm paying YOU to do!

Asked them to cook the bread, pizzas got cold waiting, still got charged for the garlic bread.

Oh, and pizzas very average, but they lost me long before that.

Good story though.

The food was good, nothing spectacular, but it definitely wasn't bad. It was hot off the press, which was great because there's nothing worse than picking up your takeaway and it's luke warm! 6.5/10.

Disappointing, garlic bread was under cooked, the wrong pasta was delivered with lots of great tasting sauce but very little pasta...paid for coke and didn't receive it ...service was arrogant. We've had a great experience with this restaurant in the past so disappointing this time. Inconsistent ... We won't be back.

Worst service I've received in my life! Do not go here!!!

I really wanted to like this place. Our local place was closed so we gave it a go. The pizza was just OK but the Italian sald was pretty bad. The vinaigrette was way too sour. All I could taste was vinegar and I LOVE vinegar. Sorry guys. I'll be going back to earth n sea for sure. Maybe next time we'll get Indian if our local pizza place is closed.

Just moved into the area and LOVE this place. Puts the big chain pizza's to shame, really authentic pizzas and friendly service!

So authentic!. Found this pizzeria a few years ago and have been addicted ever since...the pizzas in my opinion are the best in town...Naples have also a great pasta range with heaps of yummy sauces..a definate must for pizza and pasta lovers...when walking into the place you can smell the wonderful aromas The staff are super freindly and more than happy to answer any questions with a smile.

Dined at naples pizzeria tonight, staff very friendly. Ordered the mediterranean pizza on a gluten free base. When the Pizza arrived it looked ok but on tasting ,the base was clearly not cooked, very slimy just like eating raw dough. the staff assured me that this was how a gluten free pizza base was but having eaten many a gluten free base i knew this not to be correct. There was no apology , plenty of excuses and i still had to pay for a undercooked pizza with just one peice was eaten. Very disappointing,So if its a good gluten free pizza you are after Naples Pizzeria is really not the place to go

OUTSTANDING PIZZA!. Took some friends from interstate to Naples Pizzeria Grange tonight and we were completely satisfied with the meal and the service.

The toppings on the pizzas were very generous, but not overly generous that it makes your pizza soggy and tasteless. I personally loved the base.

The fettuccine carbonara was so simple but with a punch of flavour.

Overall a fab night out and highly recommended.

Great Food and Great company. Had a wonderful dinner at Naples for my birthday with friends. Consistently great food and service. So many different dishes to recommend but they make a mean pepperoni, mushroom and capsicum! Absolutely delish!
Rob
A true Italian experience. My wife and I have been visiting Naples pizzeria since we moved to Stafford 2 years ago. Always favouring an independent pizzeria over the big chains due to preferring home made style pizza over oil dripping cardboard we are very happy to recommend Naples for great service, Anna always makes my wife feel welcome and the pizza speaks for itself. The supreme with anchovies is my regular order however the bolognaise pizza is definitely worth a try.

A bit average. We 'stumbled' across this place as a result of an online voucher for a large pizza, large foccacia and drink for $19. Sounded pretty awesome and the place had some good reviews. With great anticipation we redeemed our voucher around 6pm Saturday night only to walk out feeling slightly underwhelmed. The 'drink' was a can of coke! How on earth is that expected to work with a large pizza and large foccacia - c'mon now! We did get past that joke, however to be truthfully honest the meat lovers pizza was nothing to write home about & the foccacia was so dry we had to add sweet chilli sauce to liven it up. We were so desperately hoping this would be THE pizzeria we'd not care about driving 20 minutes to get to and one that wasn't a big chain, but alas the search is still on.

Love love. Great pizza and friendly staff. Perfect for a great night in.

Anna and her family make real pizza. Plentiful toppings too

EXCELLENT food and staff. Excellent food excellent staff this place is the place to be!
We love it and can't speak highly enough of it. You must try the Boscaola pasta and the Chicken Parmigana and in pizzas our favourite is the Bolognaise Pizza. Yum!
