OMG! Fantastic! Thanks so much! We called in on a Saturday night for a drink -it didn't matter that we were "just" having a drink. We were looked after as if we were longstanding clients who came every night.
Then ... we went for dinner tonight. OMG. Just phenomenal. From the moment we were greeted to departure we were cared for as VIPs. And looking around us it seems that everyone is treated like a VIP. The other thing we noted was that everyone wasn't sitting on top of everyone else. And the staff. They. Were. Happy.
Then the food. OMG. Again! The starters were just beautiful - and served within a good period of time (so we weren't thinking how hungry we were!). Scallops and the (more traditional, but didn't look traditional) san choy bau. Yum!
Then there was the ravioli - crab with an Asian twist. Fanbloodytastic.
And the bigger dish - the crispy chicken with an Asian sauce. Jingoes!
The only change I'd make is to get the staff to choose the dishes next time - they are so knowledgeable. It doesn't mean we ordered the wrong dishes - just means I'd like to try what they recommend.

Visited this place 3 times in 2 days. Every time we tried something different and can I say each dish was amazing!
Candice and Tee were phenomenal waitresses. It is possible to visit a place and be blown away with the service and food. Well done Mamasan
We had an awesome lunch at Mamasan on Sunday. The food was on game and the drinks were on the table minutes after we ordered. Our edamame came out perfectly timed with our beers which seems like a rare occurrence on the Gold Coast. We ordered the ocean trout sashimi, wagyu bao, chicken wings and beef tataki salad. All were lovely but the korean fried wings were definitely my favourite despite being one of the messiest things I've ever eaten. The ocean trout was also amazing, the ponzu dressing made the fish roe so tasty I had to eat all of them. The staff were all sensational, very friendly and attentive. One staff member definitely had ninja training, I didn't even see her approaching.

Amazing food - we had the set menu, each dish better than the previous. Delightful staff. Delicious and comprehensive wine list. Cocktails also very good. Could not fault anything with our evening
Had sake for the first time, the taste plate was a great way to sample it. The food was really good and you had vegan options yay !! Our waitress was awesome, really into everything and really friendly but not in your face. Thanks.
Had the yang menu and we enjoyed all the dishes thoroughly ! For a non lamb person like me, the glazed lamb ribs was superb. I had 2 pieces. Almost a converter �. Would definitely recommend this place. �
Last night we were lucky enough to pop in for a few pre-dinner cocktails. Usually you need to have a booking at this time of year however they managed to squeeze us in. Not only was the service exceptional, the cocktails were amazing and the best we have had from any establishment in NZ and Aus.
We don't normally write reviews but felt we had to share our experience as we would definitely recommend Mamasan.
My daughters brought me for lunch on Mother’s Day... delicious food, wine & great service. We’re locals and have been coming to Mamasan since it’s opening... still our favourite restaurant by far!!!
Amazing service on a busy Saturday night of the Country Rock festival, w did not have a reservation however the staff were amazing and offered us a options of 3 small tables, two in and one outside - we sat outside and ordered the Sea Trout, Bao Bun, KFC Chicken, Edamame and a few other dishes and all were simply amazing! The team were amazing polite, helpful and very courteous, we would highly recommend and will be back again even from NZ...
An excellent dining experience & highly recommended. Every dish was delicious & the staff were wonderful. Will definitely return here when we next holiday in Broadbeach!!👍🏼👌🏼
Initially I thought this mamasan was the same as the one in Bali & HK, however this one turned out to be way better in terms of the food & value for money. My friends & myself had the weekday lunch banquet & for $37 it was a steal. The shared edamame was crisp, the Asian greens were in a delicate sauce. The tofu, the chilli soft shell crab & steamed baramundi were all exceptional. The standout dish for me was the sashimi tostada. I would have happily licked the plate once I devoured it. Good efficient service. I have already recommended this restaurant to my friends & can't wait to be back.

July2020. Went here for weekend dinner with partner and a friend. We had made an online reservation ahead of time.
Plates are designed to be shared. We tried the Vegetable San Choy Bau (fresh, moreish, good starter), Crab Ravioli Dumplings (silky, good seafood flavour, one serving includes four dumplings), Glazed Lamb Ribs (tender, although wish it was a bit meatier) and a side of Green Asian Vegetables. For dessert, we tried the Lemongrass and Ginger Cheesecake (very subtle flavours, on the sweeter side) and the Mamasan Chocolate Brownie (good brownie, interesting textures, quite moreish).
Service was friendly and efficient. Casual ambience with indoor and outdoor seating available. Street parking available if lucky, otherwise within walking distance from the nearest light rail. Reasonable prices.
Overall, a good dining option with friends for modern fusion South-East Asian cuisine within the Broadbeach.
A great place for dinner - bao buns are a must (we had both the pork and beef), mains of pork cheek, duck pancakes, and a side of miso vegetables. All really good food and the service was friendly, attentive and fantastic. Thanks for a wonderful evening.
Utterly extraordinary, and so wonderful with kids.
We start with the hiramasa kingfish sashimi - magnificent, particularly with the slaw and edamame. The miso eggplant bao absolutely sings. So good. But the main ensemble is just warming up.
Enter the Queen, the Patagonian toothfish. OMG. This would be my last meal on earth. The textures are exquisite, and the soy/black vinegar pops.
The duck pancakes also tidy, as too the Asian greens in soy which provide a delightful reference base to the more intricate flavours.
Service terrific, the buzz enchanting.

What a lovely place! Yum! Customer service was friendly and polite, seated at the bar whilst our table was being prepared (we we’re a bit early). I loved how the food we ordered flowed out rather than all at once and it can all be shared around the table. Pork Belly Bao was absolutely delicious! My favourite was the Chinese vegetables with sesame and peanut sauce It’s also vegetarian & vegan friendly! Cannot wait to go back
Service and atmosphere are great, a very busy and popular restaurant. Started with a bao bun which was delicious. Curry was highly recommended so we tried this but it was ok. Nothing outstanding. Since coming here we have another Asian place a try in Broadbeach which was way better for taste. I will come back to try other dishes next time we return.
The service here is fantastic, they are so welcoming! The food here was supburb, I loved every dish we ordered. Trip advisor has rated this restaurant the 3rd best in Broadbeach, however, I believe it should be first!
Great atmosphere. Friendly attentive staff. Outstanding food, wonderful flavours and beautiful presentation. All round 5star experience, exceptional value for money.

Went here for a bucks party dinner.
They have a circular table on the inside of the room - seats about 12. Highly recommend making a reservation for this ONE space for any medium size gathering with friends.
We got a set banquet meal (see photos). Food was amazing, very succulent. The beef dish was amazing, so tender.
Drinks menu is super extensive, and like the food, a lot of Fusion options available.
Came here for lunch with the mrs. The food was a awesome. We ordered 2 starters and 3 small bites to share. The scallops was fresh and had excellent flavours. The ravioli was also awesome. Full of flavour and very tasty.
I only gave it 4 stars as it's a little pricey for the portions, but the food is excellent. We'd eat here more often if it was cheaper but we will be back.
I have seen this eating place when I have been at the coast in my past visits but ventured in this time while at Broadbeach...... and I am wondering why I haven’t been here before????.
We were a group of 6 adults and we sampled our way through the menu. We had the calamari, the duck pancakes, the prawn green curry, the vegetable dish, the beef stir fry and rice and we were amazingly full and satisfied. We had 3 guys with healthy appetites🤣
It isn’t cheap, but to be honest it is no different to most place here, but the food quality is exceptional, so much so, we are returning tonight.
Great place to eat. The kingcrab ravioli was delicious. The duck was very tasty as was the pork san choy boa. Highly recommended. Service was casual but good.
Mamasan is definitely a must if living or visiting the Gold Coast. It offers a relaxed atmosphere with great service. Our waiter was very helpful and had some great recommendations which tasted delicious.
Excellent choice of cocktails to get your night started. We started on a couple of starters - the Mamasan KFC (korean fried chicken) was unreal, as well as the king crab ravioli dumplings, pork bao buns and panko fried squid. For mains, you can't go past the glazed lamb ribs and red wagyu beef curry.
My partner and I really enjoyed our visit to Mamasan that we came back a couple nights later and was equally impressed.
The wait staff were incredibly friendly and obliging despite us rocking up 5 mins before the kitchen closed. A must have is the King crab Ravioli ! The coconut sambal bisque it is served with is exquisite and is definitely reminiscent of Malaysia curry laksa flavours. The filling of the ravioli was fresh and mouth watering too! I'd definitely come back for more
Great service, friendly and helpful staff, food was amazing especially the Cod and extensive alcohol menu including whiskey. Great vibe and opens until late compared to other places
Mamasan offers a relaxed yet classy atmosphere for their diners. High and low seating, so make sure you know what you’re getting when reserving a table.
We had the Yin Banquet which was beautifully elegant and substantial. Every dish was delicious and unique. The vegetarian catered option was great for one member of our party.
Staff were really friendly - in person and whilst on the phone.
A definite recommendation for a lovely dinner.

We had a great night at Mamasan! We arrived early for our reservation, but were seated right away. The service was friendly and prompt. We had the scallops, the pork and the beef bao, san choy bao and the squid as well as the Sake tasting flight, a Singapore Sling and the Passionfruit and vanilla martini . They were happy to make changes for items to be gluten free, everything came out quickly and was so fresh and delicious. We were seeing a show at the Star so unfortunately we couldn't sit around for too long and enjoy the atmosphere, but they managed to feed us quickly without it feeling rushed or like we were worried that we might be late if we ordered more. One of the top dining experiences we have had.
Good food and service, nothing outstanding though. What we ordered tasted good, but there were no knock out dishes. Worth visiting for a casual and comfortable dinner.
Loved every second of my experience here. We shared the iced tea share cocktail which was amazing. Would recommend the wok tossed fillet and the beef bao. The beef curry was good but not the best thing on their menu. Will defiantly be back!
Loved this place! Great food the chefs are amazing and really love what they are doing and it shows! Quite possibly the best cocktails on the Gold coast and we have tried a few! Service is good too! Definitely will come back here again!
Mamasan is a delicious Asian restaurant that's one of the best on the Gold Coast IMHO. I was taken to dinner by #foodieguru_770 . We started with some amazing cocktails from their extensive cocktail menu (the passionfruit and vanilla Martini is to die for!). The tuna sashimi tostadas were a highlight, in fact so good we ordered twice. The pulled beef bao and corn fritters were also delicious. The spicy eggplant and vegetarian san choi bao were good but not quite as good as the other dishes. The service was also excellent, very friendly and efficient. I will definitely be going back!
What an outstanding night at Mamasan Restaurant I had. Once we got past the extremely rude waitresses the food here was delicious and the atmosphere was great! Every single dish we order was packed with complex and delicious flavours. Honourable mentions to the Sashimi Toastadas which were surprisingly my favourite dish, the Shichuan Hot + Sweet Eggplant, the Sweet Corn Cakes with Pineapple Nouc Cham and the Mamasan Chocolate Brownie (Amazing).
Great dining experience with amazing food selections. The entrees are a tad overpriced, but quality nevertheless. The main duck fish was delicious and the beef curry was sensational. Highly recommend
We absolutely loved it here - coming from interstate we were very impressed with the little gem we had found! The absolute stand out dishes were the Vegetable San Choy Bau, Pork Bao, Soft Shell Crab Bao and the Vegetarian Fried Rice. We went here on our first night in Surfers and were thinking about the meal the whole week. Service was attentive and accomodating, when we explained we didn't like our table and something was worked out for us so we could be moved. All in all, a great night!
Broadbeach ! You have woken up. This sleepy tired suburb has woken up with some fantastic restaurants. This took the cake tonight. We started with The Edamame. Done to perfection. Then we corn cakes and they were like Latkes with corn and it was light and fluffy. We then had tuna on a wonton crisp. Done again to perfection. Could have been anywhere in the world. The drinks were awesome. San Choi bow was satisfactory, ocean trout Sashimi had lovely flavours and to top it off was the vegetarian steamed buns! What a wow restaurant and amazing !!! So enjoyable.
I also had the “flight of whiskys” which were three top whiskys or varying tastes. It really made the night very enjoyable.

We've been to mamasan in Bali so had to dine here when we found out there was one in broadbeach. The atmosphere in the restaurant is great, all the food was delicious. Highlights were the soft shell crab bao, Peking duck & tuna taco's.
We were especially delighted to see four pillars Shiraz gin being served at the bar. Would highly recommend dining here when in the gold coast!
Though on the expensive side, the Chinese Bao was worth every dollar, as well as the fried rice. My order came reasonably quick and the staff were very friendly. I hope to come here again!
Tasty food and a really good menu, lots too choose from! All of the dishes we had were very tasty, not next level amazing but very good. great service as well.
Would have given a 5, but front desk staff were rude. Waiters and servers were great. Food was amazing. Generous portion sizes, especially the brownie dessert. We had tuna sashimi, crab bao (favourite), lamb ribs, Chinese veggies and brownie dessert. Will definitely come back next time.

A must do when on the gold coast. Staff are friendly and efficient, menu is varied and has something for everyone. You will find it hard to choose, so maybe take a crowd so you can order everything. The serving sizes were generous, we could hardly walk afterwards and certainly couldn't indulge in dessert, which was a shame. Lot's of people rave over the Pork Belly Bao and they were certainly very good. But the quiet little achiever was the crab ravioli things. They were the dark house. So delish! Prices were reasonable. Our bill for 4 people was just under $300 and we had cocktails and beers. Make sure you book to avoid disappointment.
The food was very tasty with flavours that will leave you wanting more. Dumplings are a must and will not disappoint followed by the lamb ribs. However I would advise you book ahead as Friday and Sat get very busy.
The word Mamasan usually describes a woman in a position of authority, especially one in charge of a geisha house or bar, but on the Gold Coast, Mamasan is where you can find oriental flavours with a modern twist.

Well today I sent myself off to mamasan for lunch. Again I'm not normally a huge fan of modern or modern fusion, I like my Asian to be Asian but after my last few experiences at jimmywahsburleigh and etsuizakaya I walked in with a open mind.
The fit bases itself around the kitchen, which I love because it reminds us all why we are actually there..to eat! It also reminded me a little of small street stalls in Asia where you sit around a small vendor cooking. I don't know if this was intentional but that was my impression of it. Anyway I always enjoy watching chefs at work.
The rest of the fit is pretty standard for a slightly upmarket restaurant with splashes of Asian influenced furniture used throughout.
I decided on the mamasan express lunch which consisted of edamame, pork belly bao, wok fried beef, Asian greens and steamed rice. At $35 per person with a beer or wine.I also added the mamasan KFC as I'm a huge fan of chicken wings.
The food was good, obviously fresh, quality, well cooked food. I couldn't fault it. It was also a good amount of food and I defiantly walked away feeling full. The flavours are all very familiar with what I chose but this added to my experience as it was like visiting old friends.
The menu was quite extensive and there were multiple things that I would like to go back to try (which is always a sign of a good menu). Service was efficient and straight to the point and again nothing I could fault. We had multiple staff at our table throughout our lunch and all were great.
As always my number one question to myself is would I go back? And to answer myself I would say, yes I would and I have already decided what to order. Thanks mamasan for a great lunch, I look forward to coming back soon.
I for the life of me cannot understand why this place isn't rated a 5 on here... The food is outstanding. Don't be put off by the all of Asia (and some of Europe) inspiration, the flavours and techniques are out of this world. Coupled with exceptional service, this is a place I would travel back to Gold Coast just to eat at again. Just go and thank me later! (Ps try the crab ravioli and weep with joy)
Excellent food with wonderful service. Ordered a few different dishes to try and each one was better than the next. This place is a definite must !!, and will be telling everyone about it.
Atmosphere is 10/10, a very nice place for pre-drinks or dinner. Do not wear your tracksuit to this place! Cocktails were some of the best I've ever had, I can't remember the name but the pink cocktail with the rose petal was incredible. Food was quick to come out and outstanding in my opinion....
The food here was a nice surprise. Very tasty. The only problem was there wasn't enough chilli which was a let down. A step away from being amazing, a bit too safe
Visited with a friend because seen article rating this restaurant one of top 10 on the Gold Coast. Great vibe, the interio is very smart and reflect the business culture perfectly. Big open kitchen and a high table in the corner for group booking. We only tried 3 items on the menu, half shell scallop, kfc and ravioli. Scallop has a very beautiful flavour but looked very boring, when I saw it on the table I was very disappointed and lost a lot of appetite, but the taste of it did bring me back. Kfc is also good, actually better than a lot of Korean fried chicken shops out there but again lack of garnish and presentation. Ravioli was a bit average for me. Over all it is a good place to meet people you love and spend some quality time. Worth it for me to return and try other items on menu.
Good pan Asian in the new development part of broadbeach, the oracle. Between peppers buildings and among many other funky new restaurants and clothing stores etc. All cocktails and food were great and good value $211 approx for 2x cocktails, 1 bottle wine, scallops, dumplings, crab 'ravioli', pork bao (delicious!), wagyu beef curry and rice, plus lemongrass ginger cheesecake. Would return. Good flavours and well made food are worth it!
I've been with friends to Mamasan a couple of times, love the decor and the atmosphere. Food has been good but not great, to rich for my tastebuds but others would enjoy for sure. Service has been good, would recommend.
I came here during February with my partner on a short trip to the GC. We had dinner where with my partners' dad and friend. According to them, this place is usually really packed on the weekends but luckily for us we didn't have to wait long at all for a table.
The food here was exquisite and incredibly delicious, despite the higher price point. My favourite was the entree of oyster's, they were so fresh and the dressing was amazing! We also ordered a bottle of white and it went very well with the quality and falvours of each dish we ordered. Additionally, the staff there were very friendly and the atmosphere was wonderful.
I would definitely be coming back to this place when I come to the GC again and I would recommend it to all of those planning a trip the the Gold Coast.

Good drinks menu. Asahi black is probably one of the best black beer I have ever had! We had a few different dishes but none of them disappointed us! For a non spicy person I don't recommend to get things that says spicy...
Wow. We had the Chefs choice 7 course menu, seated up at the bar overlooking the kitchen. Such a great vibe watching these guys meticulously create each plate as a work of art. The scallops were so fresh, still attached to the shell. Kingfish sashimi converted my raw fish-hating partner into a raving fan. The Numbing bugs lived up to their name with soft delicious Morton bay bugs accompanied by some wicked green chilies. I recommend the cocktails as well- so good. My Thai was sensational. This place is amazing!
Initially I was ecstatic, thinking that this was a sister restaurant to bali's mamasan. It wasn't. But that didn't matter anyway because this one is just as great!
We had the KFC Wings- warning they are hot hot hot! None the less they were delicious, and a huge serving for a starter.
On to mains- we had the wagu beef curry and that was so tender and full of flavor. Easily able to share that between two of us. We also had the lamb ribs- as delicious as they looked, they were lack luster and quite fatty.
Overall, this place rocks and is by far one of the best restaurants in broadbeach!
Mamasan Kitchen and Bar has an excellent variety of foods available on the menu. We really enjoyed the San Choy bao and pork buns. We had the wagyu beef curry for main which was nice. The service here is fantastic! We enjoyed our night 😀
