Fantastic food, and the service was excellent, the staff could not do enough, highly recommend this place.
This place absolutely rocks the Hideaway is an absolutely must to visit. It’s a culinary delight and will please the taste buds! Such a great experience!
Absolutely fantastic customer service. Owen you rock, thank you so much for looking after us and making our anniversary a night to remember you deserve a pay rise. You are the consummate professional. Thanks for your excellent service.
Great food, great atmosphere and great value! Can’t say enough, get here and enjoy!
Great setting. Food wonderful. Just watch it as some dishes spicy. If you like spicy food with a mouthful of flavor, this is the place for you.
Great food at a good price. Atmosphere and service is also very good. We live on th GC and only just discovered this place. Will definitely be going back. Definitely recommend.
A big Wow for the Food .. the staff are very friendly and professional
The atmosphere is perfect .. either for lunch or dinner ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I would highly recommend it 😋😋😋
First time and we were very impressed. The food, service , variety and drinks were great. Atmosphere was also impressive even with prob 150- 200 people there. Not too noisy so you could have a conversation and not cold at all even being outside on a winters night . Staff were really pleasant and quick. Great place to revisit
I don’t know where to start... The whole place and the ambience is insane! It’s beautiful and special but when we start talking about the food and the service I am lost for words! I think me and my now husband ( we had our wedding reception there last weekend) have found our absolute favourite spot on Gold Coast! The food is just incredible it is hard to not eat more when you do the banquet menu and you are already too full but there is more coming.. love it!
We have been there just two of us and with a couple of friends and now with ALL of our friends and we all LOVE how good this restaurant is!
Do yourself a favour and indulge yourself at this restaurant and forget about the world outside !
We are so incredibly thankful for the chefs, the management , specially the staff that day and night to accommodate such a big group of happy and relaxed people at once!
We will be back again and again and again!
Keep doing what you are doing !
Abby and Gussy and our big group of friends!
Great food
Great martini’s
Great service
Highly highly recommend 😊
My fiancee and I got engaged here on my 30th. The food is amazing. The atmosphere is great and the staff are super friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended!
Delicious food, great crowd and extensive menu to suit everyone. Highly recommend
First time at this restaurant after reading some reviews on Zomato. Absolutely love it. Would give more stars if I could. The vegetarian spring rolls were especially delightful. The servings were so much we could hardly eat the decadent and thoughtfully designed dessert at the end. Thanks for the great service the young lady in the orange top- I am sorry we did not get your name. You mentioned you were relatively new to the business but damn, you did a great job! We wanted to thank you at the end but didn’t get a chance to. Rest assured your lovely demeanour will bring us back to Hideaway again in the future.
Delicious food. Generous servings. Great vibe. Soft shell crab, red duck curry and pad thai were so good.
I thought the food here was unreal. Great fusion food- lots of options for asian cuisine. I recommend the steamed whole fish which was tender and absolutely lightly seasoned and delicate. I also loved the chicken wings which were well seasoned and actually had some spice to it. Cool place to come to for a nice dinner.
A great spot. A very large, well decorated venue with friendly and prompt service. Good selection of fusion dishes where edamame was great. The pad Thai was okay, could’ve been more saucy as it was a bit dry and would’ve liked some veggies. The meat inside the bug appetisers was small, cocktails were great and the price was moderate.
Absolutely loved this place!! It’s a must go if you like Asian Fusion!
7 of us went and had the Street Feast, $50pp and they serve a variety of dishes! From memory we had oysters, fried lotus flower shoots, edame beans, sticky ribs, dumplings, soft shell crab salad, curry, beef tataki, duck spring rolls, calamari and a desert platter! Great value for money! Friendly staff! Great atmosphere!
On par if not better than Mr Miyagi in Melbourne!
We had a table for four booked and turned up on time to be shown to our seats which had menus and water waiting already. The staff explained the menu and took our drinks order while we decided on food. We all chose to pick one small dish and a larger one each plus a side. The chicken skewers with satay arrived first then salt and pepper calamari and finally the vegetarian spring rolls. All were hot, tasty and well presented. Our mains then arrived at around the same time - except my tofu and eggplant curry. The side of tofu and veges kept me going while the others enjoyed their Thai beef salad, chicken , tamarind beef... followed up on where my curry had got to. The waitress apologised and brought me another glass of wine- on the house. When the yellow curry did arrive it was worth the wait! Delicious. All meals were generous and beautifully presented. Staff were friendly and efficient despite how manic the place was on a Saturday night.
Great service, good vibes, amazing food we left so happy and we will definitely be coming back again. Gets busy so book ahead but otherwise its perfect.
The the wok fried tofu vegetable stir fry here is amongst the best I’ve ever had. Generous portions of tofu, fresh tasting ingredients, and very flavourful. Check it out! (The chicken is also good too apparently.)
Quality! It Shouldnt Be That Hard! Love A Wonderful Mouth Full Of Wholesome FOOD!
+5
So I saw this place advertised on the hotel tv of my room at the Meriton....
What a little treasure this bar/ restaurant is. I walked in and asked for a table for one! The waiter walked me over to the table. I asked what it meant as it said let us feed you for $50 dollars! It didn’t say for min 4 people or best for bigger books. But he explained that it’s the best way for big tables sounded like a good idea! The restaurant it is funky it has a big out door area with its own bar for big bookings or for weekend when it’s very busy!!! The staff are very friendly and polite!!! Not ideal for a date because it does get extremely loud! But then again the quality of food is amazing!!!!
Well I ordered king fish sashimi it was very well balanced it had a a little bit of spice then it was a little sweet then it was a little flowery! It was mind blowing that’s such a simple dish had so much flavour and not one was more over powering mor then the other.
I also ordered Asian greens they where nice not over cooked still was a little crunchy. With a sweetish taste!
Then for a main a had steam fish. This was by far the best steam whole fish I have every had it was well balanced with with ginger coriander and a few other spice! HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
Excellent service here. Went with my bf for our anniversary and they greeted us with complimentary champagne! The food was a touch spicy for my liking but still very good. We shared the feast and for 50 pp was great value for money with more food then possible to eat. The outstanding aspect of the night was the dessert board. Would recommend!
Wow!! This place is amazing. Being from Melbourne, Asian Fusion is the new big thing when going out to eat. This place definitely exceeded our expectations! The menu is quite large so we opted for the $50 pp, where the staff select dishes for you, they were very helpful. This was amazing, there was such a great variety within the dishes & each were so delicious. We were able to tell the staff what things we did & didn’t like & they planned accordingly. We loved this option, however, there was an excessive amount of food for 2 people. I would probably recommend this option for people dining in groups, however the value for money is fantastic! The cocktails & dessert were also super tasty! Highly recommend this place & will be back next time I’m in Broadbeach!
Beautiful place with cool music. All of the staff was soooo nice and friendly.
My husband, my cousin and I came in when the kitchen would close in 10 mins and they let us take our time to decide what we wanted.
We ordered King fish Sashimi, Lotus loaded fries, panacotta dessert and three drinks (we just had dinner at a Japanese place). The King fish Sashimi was beautiful. My husband loves japanese sashimi style and he said this was one of the best (even compared to places in Japan where he visited in the past). We loved the Lotus fries. Geez you guys were so creative when it came to food. We could never believe lotus roots can taste that good 😍
If there were more than 5 stars we would give you 100 ⭐️. Thanks for making our trip memorable since we came to Broadbeach for a visit from Melbourne 🙂
I really enjoyed it.
Located on the Gold Coast Highway, a little away from the main dining areas, Hideaway is an apt name.
The interior was funky and appropriate for the Asian street food vibe it has going on.
We occupied a booth inside, alongside the cool, whole wall mural. There is also seating outside in a large courtyard.
Service was friendly, though it would have been helpful if our waitress had explained the menu for us. For example there is a $50 feed me option, I'm not entirely sure how that works, but the entire group has to have it. As we had kids with us it didn't seem a good option.
There are a range of small plate options to share, larger share plates and mains like whole fish.
We chose the pork bao to share as an entree and it was delicious.
For mains we enjoyed beautuful fried rice and the red curry duck to share between two.
The duck curry was from the 'larger share plates' section and it was a generous serving size, in fact, the two of us didn't finish our mains. The red curry was delicious though next time I'd order it spicier.
Another in our party had the beef stirfry, which looked sooo delicious I'm planning a return visit to get that!
Someone else had a whole fish which was beautifully presented, eyeballs and all, if you're up for those.
The atmosphere was loud, wasn't a problem for me but might be for some.
You can't split the bill but the paper menus came in handy for keeping a tally in your own contribution.
I thought it was reasonable value for money given the quality of the food, the bao, fried rice, duck curry, 2 glasses of wine and 2 beers = $88.
Called hideaway for a reason! Not a place I would think to eat from the frontage but inside felt hip and "great" different compared to what i know.
I had the $50 feed me option. My only gripe about this is on me. In hindsight I know to ask for much less fried dishes, it's something I didn't think of, in fact I eyeballed the fried food thinking they would be my favourite, but you get sooooooo much food that you quickly get a bit sick.
Ignoring me feeling sick after entrée 4, individually more than not the food was yummy, customer service great, a bit hot inside lacked fans, well worth the 50 and an awesome experience that is extremely flexible (you can state ur food requirements or dishes that interest you on the menu and they will cater ur feed me options around that or just harden up and go all in!)
I will be back, next time there will be no doggy bags, only empty dishes!!!!!! Mwahahahahahaha.
Dined here for dinner tonight. This restaurant is tucked away off the main highway, from the exterior it doesn't look much, but the name says it all this eatery really is a hidden gem. The staff are friendly & attentive, we were greeted & seated as soon as we walked in, the staff took the time to explain how the menu worked to us & ensured we were looked after throughout our visit. The deccor at Hideway is gorgeous. The interior walls are plastered with quirky street art & out the back there is a large courtyard which is illuminated by fairy lights & brightly coloured umbrellas hanging from above, you almost feel transported to Asia. The menu is designed to share & is filled with yummy options. We found our selves spoilt for choice but in the end we shared the salmon skewers, fried rice, chicken & prawn shumai & duck pancakes between the two of us. All of the food was presented beautifully & was enjoyable. We both loved the salmon skewers, the fish just melted in your mouth & we also very much enjoyed the fried rice. Personally I felt the shumai were well cooked but a little to spicy, the only flavour I got from the dumplings was heat. The duck was also slightly chewy. However these are minor critiques & overall we thoroughly enjoyed our meals & I would recommend checking Hideaway out.
Had my birthday dinner there a couple of days ago while cyclone Debbie was knocking down trees and dampening spirits! Thank you to the staff for being amazing and making my dinner perfect. Love the swing at the bar concept and all the quirky graffiti.
As for the food, I had the beef wantons, dumplings, the crying tiger(?) the pad Thai and the fish in the banana leaf and steamed which was my fav! The food was def on point! Loved it !
Booked dinner here on the recommendation of a friend. Was not disappointed.
Staff were awesome. Helpful, happy, and knowledgeable. Food was great. I could not fault it. We had the chefs selections option and were both impressed with the dishes that kept appearing once the last was finished.
Cool place with an expansive outdoor eating area.
Will definitely be back.
Delicious food and wonderful atmosphere. Staff were very lovely and friendly as well. Perfect place for drinks and dinner, food is sent out quickly and absolutely love the street food style.
The sugar cane shrimp and karaage chicken are must tries for sure.
Overall, extremely impressed with this Asian Fusion joint.
Great staff, glorious venue, and food full of flavour.
My friend and I shared Chilli Salt Squid with lime; Duck Breast Pancakes; Green Papaya Salad; Chicken Kaarage, and Steamed Vegetable Dumplings. We kept ordering savoury plates, as there were so many tempting options on the menu. Much to our delight, everything we chose was delicious.
Don't be put off by the location on the main road amongst some daggy shops; beyond the door is a vibrant restaurant waiting to be explored. If I lived locally, I'd be a frequent visitor.
What a treasure this place is. My brother recommended it for a family dinner and we certainly weren't disappointed. The food was all sooo fresh and full of flavour. Reasonable prices and friendly happy staff ....🤗🤗🤗
Fantastic service, Shannon was able to offer suggestion and guide us through the extensive menu. Food was delicious and extremely hard to pick only a couple of dishes to eat as warmed our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs. Will be back to try what I didn't have this time round. I hope this hidden gem remains well priced with good sized dishes.
We went for a light early dinner and ended up with a full on pig-out munch-fest. The interior is surprisingly big with a cool street vibe feel, definitely a place to catch up with friends. The cocktails were spot on which is always a promising start. I'm always suspicious of large and varied menus as they can often mean low quality dishes, but not this time. The suicide chicken wings was actually pretty hot, given that most spicy food on the GC is really rather tame (or maybe my palate has weakened..) the soft shell crab was fabulous, with big chunks of melon to freshen up the dish. Beef cheek rendang was of a good consistency and so tender. My little son stuck his face in his bowl of salmon teriyaki and barely came up for air- a good sign I think. The deep fried fish came out last although we were truely too stuffed to appreciate it. We swaggered out stuffed and happy- and it was only 7.30- aah well, time to put the kids to sleep and crack open some wine.
