Review Yellowfin Seafood Restaurant - Broadbeach

Harrison Geater
Brilliant service. Seated and served immediately. Food was brilliant. Shrimp Tacos were brilliant. Hot plate for 2 was brilliant with good variety. Overall, couldn’t fault anything.
Ted Porter
Got a hot platter for 2. Bugs tasted like freezer burn, there were only 4 small prawns and the fish was salmon. They could even get the drinks order right. Won't go back.

Nice food but there was a rat in the restaurant. We did see a member from the kitchen following the rat. We informed the situation to the wait staff, said the kitchen staff would have to confirm, and no one said anything.

We came here for family dinner last Sunday. There were eight of us and we all ordered different meals. Every meal was amazing and cooked to perfection. I got the bugs and prawns - bugs were perfectly cooked and generous. The sirloin was tender and juicy with great sides to pair. We ordered cocktails and they were wonderful, favourite being the 'Pash' and the Raspberry Cosmo. Finished it off with dessert, sticky date pudding was beautiful but the Affrogato was the best I've ever had. Customer service was exceptional, will definitely be back here. 5 stars all round!

Booked online for their 30% off special diner, arrived around 5:50, the waiter came to take order around 6:10. At the end of the diner I was told there would be no special for us because we ordered after 6:00pm. Apparently no one told us about this special rule when we got there. The food was fresh (unless the garlic bread which was not cooked properly) but the taste was just ok. Anyways the day was ruined because of their honestly poor service. Left not happy.

We’ve been here before and on both occasions the food and the staff have not disappointed. Had the hot platter for 2. Absolutely delicious.

Went here for the a last lunch in Broadbeach, with great recommendations from TripAdvisor. There was no one there (though it was around 2 on a Tuesday) which was pleasant, and the wait staff were very helpful. Ordered the Grilled Seafood Platter for two which was brilliant considering the price. Would definitely recommend for a summer relaxation lunch.

We went to Yellowfin in search of a nice dinner for our last night on the Gold Coast & were not disappointed! The food was fresh & delicious & the service was friendly & attentive.

I have been wanting to go to yellowfin restaurant for ages. I have seen the pictures of the food and they looked amazing. When we got there it wasn't very busy and we were seated straight away. After the initial contact the service went down hill, we asked for table water and the waitress would only fill one glass at a time. We wanted to have an amazing meal so we ordered the lobster and bug platter $135. I didn't care about the price until it came out. The waitress kept coming out and apologising for it taking so long but it was because the lobster takes so long to cook. It finally arrived, the prawns weren't fresh, the salt and pepper squid tasted like flour and the lobster was so over cooked it tasted like burnt salt. The bugs were good though. It was so disappointing looking for an amazing experience and getting worse food than MacDonalds. Waited for them to ask if we enjoyed our meal but no one cared. Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Was looking for a really good seafood place with an awsome seafood plate and unfortunately we were disappointed oyster kilpatrcks were so small sand crab was tiny too hardley any meat in it at all and the little bit that was in there was mushy and horrible. Fish was so oily made the chips really oily too for the money we payed $140 we expected to get a real top quality meal and again unfortunately it wasn’t. Don’t think We would go back there again disappointing On a good note Waitress was really lovely & polite.

What a fantastic variety of seafood! A great place for lunch or dinner. The seafood platter for two was absolutely scrumptious, some of the best seafood on the Coast.
Maandy Arnold
The staff are all friendly and welcoming. Service was prompt and the quality of food incredible. We have had a variety of seafood dishes all of which were faultless. The surf and turf was amazing as was the seafood platter. A must try in Broadbeach.
Geraldine Healy
Amazing, had the gourmet seafood platter, so delicious. The service was brilliant, would recommend this place to all!!!
Rianna Gray
Food was yummy & waiter was very friendly and helpful during our lunch and seated us early so we didnt have to wait outside until 12, which was really nice Only fault was that we ordered the lobster & bugs platter, but unfortunatly they didnt have time to make the lobster mornay for lunch as the lobster delivery just arrived which was a little dissapointing. Also enjoyed the French Martini!

Amazing food and service. The team went above and beyond to make our evening special despite a wriggly 5yo kicking over our wine ice bucket... We can't recommend this place enough and will be telling anyone coming to the GC this is a must do! Thank you so much!

Just great service from friendly waiters and we chose Seafood platter which had Lobster/bugs/ prawns and calamari- all excellent- highly recommend this restaurant!

My husband and myself walked in for dinner last night. We are not big seafood fans, but thought we would give it a go. We ordered the Barra/chips and salad. And OMG the Barra just melted in your mouth. Hands down the best fish we have had for a while. We are coming back next week with family members. Awesome staff, and great customer service. 10/10

Food was great and service was quick and pleasant. We went for lunch and had the platter for 2. Would recommend to anyone looking for seafood.

We love the atmosphere here, very relaxing and staffs are really friendly. What we like most is the seafood platter, thats the best, serving is really good for the price $129. We find that the pork belly meat is abit tough for us, creme brulee is abit weird 😅 not the usual creme brulee, we dont really like this one. <br/><br/>#seafood platter<br/>#hotplate platter<br/>#kahlua pork belly<br/>& creme brulee & affogatto<br/><br/>Overall experiece was really good, we will come back next time!<br/>xx 💚

Excellent seafood, great service, very nice atmosphere, and allergy friendly. We had the seafood platter for 2 and a kids fish and chips for my son. My wife and son have allergies and they were very accommodating to adjust the meals. The shared platter had plenty of good quality seafood, all cooked perfectly. I was also impressed by the quality of the kids fish and chips (I would have happily had it as a main myself!). We also enjoyed the spring thunderstorm from the semi-alfresco dinning. Best meal we had in gold coast by far. I don't often write reviews, but I have to recommend them.

A must visit for seafood lovers.

Went for dinner on a Thursday night and it was busier than most other restaurants. Food was very reasonably priced and plentiful. We both had seafood for entree and mains and it was all delicious. The service was excellent. Would recommend it and I would come back.
Sarah
My husband and I ate here whilst holidaying on the Gold Coast as it was an excellent opportunity to use our Good Food gift cards. We were not disappointed. Thank you to the front of house and the kitchen staff for an excellent meal & excellent service. Our food arrived promptly and we had interesting & pleasant conversations. Our seafood platter was a great choice. The oysters and garlic prawns were highlights. As was the de Bertoli prosecco We will visit again when we return to Broadbeach!! Thank you for a good night.

<br/>Late review- date of dining- 8/3/18<br/>Went there for dinner to celebrate our 4 years wedding anniversary in March this year- glad we picked this restaurant. Very fresh and delicious seafood dishes- generous portions and fantastic service. Can’t fault Yellow Fin. Will be back
Denny Patron
Probably not the sort of place that looking at from the front you would expect to be good but this fish was all very fresh and tasty! Garlic prawns to start were great and the barramundi was a winner as well.
Sachin Gupta
This place has some really good Sea food to offer. Do ask the server to help your out from the Menu to make the best choice. Moderately Priced. Had a great time.
Nicole Hung
Atmosphere was good, very clean all around, waitresses were ALL very very friendly and nice (which was a BIG plus)..<br/>The Seafood platter was a tad overpriced..as the sand crab that was on it were not fresh (had a funny smell...an "off' smell which stayed on our hands even after washing it with the lemon water)...the battered barra was overcooked and dry....<br/>On the other hand, the bugs, king prawns, natural oysters, calamari, scallops, clams and chips on the platter were nice :)<br/>My husband (who don't normally complain about things being overcooked) had the chicken breast and he said it was dry and definitely overcooked...<br/>My parents and one of my brother had fish dishes as well as the "bugs and prawn" dish...they were nice...<br/><br/>So I guess it was just an average experience for me, though I prob would give it another go next time I go back down to the coast cos the service was good :)

We were looked after beautifully when we attended the yellowfin Restaurant. Our waiter was VIk who made sure we got what we were after which was a first time seafood experience for our grandson. We had an amazing time.
Linda
Who can go wrong with fresh seafood? Especially a whole platter full! The platter we ordered was well presented and fairly satisfactory with a variety of fresh seafood selections (fresh oysters, moreton bay bug and scallops being the favorites) but also a large portion of chips that filled the platter. The sauce was nice also. However, the service was not so great. We didn't feel as welcomed and respected at entry.
Leanne Cassar
Order the bugs and the crab salad and they forgot to add any flavour <br/>Very disappointing <br/>I was hoping this would be my new local fish restaurant sadly not
Matt Harris
Great joint. Got the seafood platter. Very relaxed atmosphere and front of house was very friendly. Would come back next time in on the Gold Coast

From what is a promising menu, name and location, Yellow Seafood Restaurant promised a lot.<br/><br/>For starters we had the garlic bread and three oysters (kilpatrick, mornay, and some other). The oysters were okay, but the garlic bread was a bit overdone. Unfortunately these basic starters took a really long time, even though it was not at all busy and we booked ahead.<br/><br/>The mains also took a while. We went for the swordfish, served on a garlic and cream potato galette - which I must say was very nice. Also sampled the fish and chips with mushy peas - this was good without being great.<br/><br/>In summary, the food was nice, the service was slow and a bit hit and miss, and the prices a little over the odds for what was served up. Nonetheless, a pleasant enough evening was had.

Everything on menu looked good but we couldn't go past the Seafood platters. They were fantastic. Stacey our waitress was attentive and great fun. Great night.
Ricky Klein
The waiter was a little rude and the price is quite high for what it's worth. <br/>The food variety is definitely a big plus, but the flavour was a little blend. <br/>Minimal waiting time, which is good for hungry customers. <br/>Overall mediocre, would be a "try it out" restaurant but wouldn't return.
Cath
We had a fantastic meal and our wait staff, Stacey, was outstanding. Every dish was totally yum and excellent value. Top marks all round. Highly recommended.

My family and I had a great experience here. We had the seafood platter for two and my daughter had the kids pizza. The platter that came out was very impressive although the bugs and scallops were a little overcooked. The rest was delicious and desserts were excellent. The staff (oliver and vic) were attentive and gave us great service. We would recommend you and will come back when back on the Gold Coast.
Campbell Hargraves
Beautiful food. Very attentive service. Vic was our waiter for the evening. His food recommendations were informative and fantastic. He was very happy and friendly. Definitely coming back.

Read few bad reviews about this restaurant and hesitated to try it the first day in the area. Went to a different restaurant has a very poor seafood platter so finally come back to yellowfin and try them out. They have 40% off when ordering between 12pm-1pm so we ordered the deluxe seafood platter. Food came out amazing with presentation and taste. Service was good too. Most cold and hot food were good, except bugs were a little bit not fresh and small. Otherwise was a good experience and good value too!
Natroxstar
Had trout and barramundi, trout slightly overcooked but barramundi perfect. Lovely and helpful staff and nice ambience. Rhubarb, apple and berry dessert pizza was outstanding. BYO wine is good.
Heidi
Average seafood restaurant! If you're getting the seafood platter for two ask for less chips as there's enough to feed four of you with only just enough seafood! I think we filled up on the chips!!!
Julie Carbone
Best seafood we've had in Broad Beach, simple and relaxed atmosphere, great staff. This has become our go to for seafood, as we have never been disapointed!
Rennae72
Staff were so nice on a very bust Friday night. The food was nice...tge service great and we didnt have to wait long for our meals. Will go back😆
Debbie Battis
Had a lovely family dinner here. My only negatives were the size of the bugs. Way too small. Also the tap water on arrival. Chilled tap water would've suffice.
Monique Alexandra Maclean
I am starting to wonder how on earth the food on the Gold Coast is not fresh when restaurants have access to such fresh seafood? Staff are friendly and the pricing is fair but when it comes down to the food it is frozen and tasteless pretty disappointing.

We visited for dinner after an exhibition at the convention centre after standing from 8am to 5pm, we were ravenous and looking forward to some good seafood.<br/><br/>As far as I'm concerned all restaurants in the Gold Coast are tourists traps, and therefore horrendously overpriced, but this place looked OK and the menu was well stock, so we thought it was our best bet.<br/><br/>My first impression was good - the layout of the place was nice, and the woman who greeted us out from wasn't too pushy like some of the other restaurants we'd walked past.<br/><br/>I ordered the Ocean Trout with Cream Cheese and Chive Potato Crush with Broccolini & Truffled Cherry Tomatoes, and my colleague ordered the Seafood Bouillabaisse.<br/><br/>My concern first started when my colleague asked the waiter "is your Bouillabaisse any good?", to which we got the reply "It's fish soup". Upon re-asking the question, the waiter said "I haven't had it because I don't really like scallops and all that stuff".<br/><br/>A waiter working at a seafood restaurant who doesn't like seafood? Interesting.<br/><br/>When our meals arrived, 2 things we immediately clear. My Ocean Trout was in fact Salmon, and the Bouillabaisse was a tiny portion.<br/><br/>I decided there was no point in kicking up a fuss about the Salmon, as it was quite nice and I was starving.<br/><br/>The Bouillabaisse however was the worst we'd ever had - It could have come from a can and you couldn't taste the difference.<br/><br/>At the end of the meal when the waiter asked us how it was, I mentioned about the trout not being trout, and the waiter went and got the docket where it said that I had indeed ordered trout. I told him I really didn't mind, I just wanted them to be aware for future. He then said "The chef probably mixed them up, Tout and Salmon look pretty similar".<br/><br/>As far as I could tell all staff, including the chef, were backpackers. I have nothing against backpackers working in restaurants, but PLEASE management, give them some training of the basics of seafood!

I went to this restaurant about 2 months ago with a close friend and we shared a seafood platter which included moreton bay bugs, sand crab, scallops, fresh oysters, king prawns, clams, calamari, salad and chips. The food was excellent; it was presented beautifully, tasted great and there was lots of it. <br/>The staff members were very polite and welcoming however they took a long time to serve us despite it being a fairly quiet night with lots of staff on. I also noticed the table next to us which had arrived before us had waited long after us to be served. <br/>Overall it was a good experience.<br/>Food: 5/5<br/>Service: 3/5<br/>Atmosphere: 3.5/5

Small restaurant located at the rear of the street and with not a very eye catching shop front.  We dinned at the shop during lunch with not many staff around but the staff at present were very efficient to cater our needs.  <br/>The food took a while to come out but the quality and presentation were excellent. Seafood platter was a little bit expensive when compared to other restaurant that we tried before.  Fisherman's pie was unexpected to be cooked and presented in such manner but was very enjoyable.

Yum. Between us we had the garlic prawns, calamari & almond salad.. and chips! So delicious. Fairly expensive but worth it. Thanks Yellowfin :)

It's been a while since I was here, but dug up some old photos last time I dined at this place... I wonder if their menu has changed since. The portion size seems decent, tastes I remembered was well balanced, tasters were awesome and desserts were absolutely delicious. I've been dying to return but just never got around to it... Maybe soon again!

This is the first restaurant that I try the oyster shooter. The sweetness from the oyster and the sourness from Bloody Mary make me an unforgettable feeling. It becomes one of my favorites and I will like to compare the different of its taste between restaurants whenever I find it on the menu.  Dined in with voucher for Seafood Platter and found that the quality and quantity were superb. Ambient was good and service was attentive. Overall, a nice dining experience.

Went in the weekend with the voucher for the Seafood Platter, the restaurant was packed! Wondering if most of the customers are using the voucher...We arrived earlier and fair enough our table was not available, so we gotta come back later. Waited for some time for the menu, water and food but the waiters have put in their best effort given a full house. We ordered additional fish & chips as main for 3rd person but it is very expensive and small. Seafood platter are magnificently presented and are very fresh and tasty though1

Boullibaisse even better than 2 nights ago at another venue.  It didn't have the viscousity, but the flavours were more prevalent.  The fish of the day (Mahi Mahi and monk fish) were both very tasty, but the monk fish was just that much better. - so fresh.  Our little one was well looked after with her meal coming out earlier to keep her satisfied.  We shared 2 entrees which included crab salad, oysters, calamari, scallops, smoked salmon, prawns and salad - all great and fresh tasting.  And if you are seated before 6pm (which is easy to do with kids, given dinner time is around 5.30ish) you get 40% off food.  Great deal, lovely service (but not condescending - if that makes sense).  The restaurant is quite "cozy", quite smaller than expected, so expect a bit of theatre.  I was just bummed it wasn't lobster season.

Nice fresh seafood in the middle of Broadbeach. It's a little strange but there are not that many good seafood restaurants on the Gold Coast. We have always found Yellowfin pretty consistent all year round. Well priced platters and fresh produce. <br/>Lunch with a nice crisp white wine is the go.
M
Liked it four of us went for dinner prior to 6pm for 40% off, two of us had the bugs and prawns which was nice for the discount price, steak for one was forgettable barramundi for the fourth was good service good but not sure full price would be value

Purchased the 'seafood share platter' off Groupon. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with very friendly service. Happily accepting our Groupon purchase and explaining all the options of our purchase. The online photo did not do the meal justice it was bigger and better than we could have hoped. Such a big thankyou for a great night. Highly recommended!

Is there a qualified chef in the house?. We decided to dine at Yellowfin on recommendations. The maitre de was warm and welcoming and found us a table on a busy night. That was the only highlight. We weren't offered water once the whole night. We ordered and ate two of the most lack luster and unseasoned dishes I have ever eaten and left without ordering mains as we could not justify spending another cent. Food should be cooked with love and passion. No one in the kitchen is tasting the food or caring about the customer. My garlic prawn entree at $20 included five tiny overcooked and tasteless prawns and I cannot find one good thing to say about the clam dish which we were so looking forward to. My question is who is voting for this restaurant to win awards? My guest at yellowfin is a restauranter and he was embarrassed for the hospitality industry.

Very good food & service. We brought a groupon seafood voucher. Big portion of seafood platter, very nice and warm customers services. <br/>Seafood platter was tasty and decent portion. We asked if possible to have beer instead of wine. they told us we can't but we can take to the bottle wine home and order beer.<br/>Love this restaurant, will definite return and recommend.

I like this restaurant . I live in Melbourne and every time I came to Gold Coast I will have dinner in this restaurant. The seafood are very fresh and so yummy at a reasonable price. The taste is unforgettable. Highly recommended . I would like to give 8.5/10 in score.

Bad service. Made a reservation, were running 10 mins late and rang ahead to let them know. No table set up for us when we arrived. Were seated ok, and menus provided. But table not properly set, no water brought to table or drink orders taken...In the meantime we saw two other parties seated (off the street, I saw them stop, read the menu out front and decide to come in) had their drink orders taken and served. 20 mins later still no one had come to serve us! We decided to leave and my husband went to tell staff - politely, but the guy couldn't even make a suitable apology! Made excuses about how someone had called in sick... <br/>We had intended to order the seafood platter for two for $120. It sounded great. But for us going out is a lot about service... being made to feel welcome and looked after. We weren't. We won't go back.
Monique
Fine!. We were put off by the negative views but went ahead anyway. Great service from the American waitress, good food, although pretty rough white with the groupon voucher. recommend the wine upgrade option. good night all in all.
Dan
Seafood was ordinary at best. Definitely not fresh. The best thing about the seafood platter for two was the chips. Dirty glassware - reluctantly changed. Service not great, steak tough. What else can you say - won't be going back.

Incredibly worst Customer service!!!. We had lunch on 20th of May to celebrate my friend's birthday, he is a seafood lover. That why i did a bit of research on internet tried to choose a delicious and good reputation but reasonable price restaurant across Gold Coast. Most of the reviews for this restaurant were fairly good , such as fresh seafood, reasonable price, worth to try.... except some negative reviews about the food and customer service. So i decided to purchase the groupon from the web and treat my friend as a birthday lunch. <br/><br/>I arrived the restaurant at around 1:45 pm to 1:50 pm after 15- 20 mints late for the reservation. After the waiter checked the reserved book, he answered: YOU ARE VERY LATE! with a unfriendly way. I apologized for being late and explained for the reason. He then doing his own things without directing as where to sit, leaving both of us standing there a bit embarrassing! After i asked: where can we sit please, he then answered: Sit wherever you like mate, without even looking at us. Even though with his unexpected attitude and manner, i still pretend to my friend nothing has went wrong and choose a table to sit outside, because it was his birthday, i did not want this to screw the feeling of our lunch. Tried to talked other things to distract our bad feeling. After the waiter came with again the unfriendly way of providing us the menu, he then explained the menu very quickly and left. While we were ordering the food, we said we were happy to stay with the original menu set without extra cost. He then asked which wine do u like, he even didn't direct us the wine list to choose from,so we had no idea where to choose from. He then IMPATIENTLY said: DIDNT YOU KNOW YOUR GROUPON COMES WITH A BOTTLE OF WINE, WHICH WINE DO YOU WANT. We were a bit nervous after his impatient of asking. He then answer: WELL, IF YOU DONT KNOW WHICH TO ORDER, I WILL CHOOSE FOR YOU!. The waiter took the menu and left with his uncomfortable emotion showing on his face which is very obvious. At the moment he left, i start to get very angry and discuss with my friend, How could he treat us like that?!!. I then walked to the counter and ask: i am wondering about your customer service, Is there something goes wrong? He then answered very disrespectfully: you guys had no ideas which wine to choose then i decided for you. And he also said: you guys were late, our seafood platter finish at 2 pm (Which we did not aware of that, and he could have explained when we arrived.). I was so surprised about the way he treated us. I have never experienced such this kind of awful customer service ever!! One thing i have to say is , i have no commend for the quality of food in this restaurant but only with the rude customer service. We then walked away from the restaurant,i did tell him, i will write the review for this mater on the internet. He answer: OK. I cant believe the way we were being treated. It was just unbelievable!!! I WILL DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND MY FRIEND TO GO THERE WHATEVER THE FOOD IS GOOD OR BAD!!!
Jess
This place was absolutely fantastic. We went in a party of 4 with 3 food lovers from Melbourne and a chef from Switzerland so it's usually expected that at least one of us would leave unsatisfied. For once, this was NOT the case! <br/>When you can go to a seafood restaurant and order gnocchi to be served a fresh perfect potato dumpling you can't complain! Then to also be served 3 different types of fish, each a different thickness, ALL cooked to perfection! Wow<br/>We will definitely be back!
MalcolmRobyn Loftus
Seafood GREAT, cafe zero. Had a beautiful meal today, yellowfin Tuna cooked just the way we asked...stunning. I had the crab and melon salad, also very good. Being a BYO place this saved us a bit on the wine side of things so made the price very reasonable. we enjoyed everything until it came to ordering our normal after meal short black coffee. it came out like an instant coffee in a short cup. I am an ex restaurateur and know my coffee and what it should look and taste like! After making a comment about it to the lovely staff member she informed us that they were not a coffee shop.....HUH????? Worst though was that even though I didn't drink it, it was still on my bill.......very disappointed and that side of things really let them down. Coffee is important to the end of my meal as is dessert to others!!<br/><br/>Will go back though for the food...NOT the coffee!
Kathryn
My partner & I had the seafood platter for 2 last night, the best thing about it was the chips, the rest was really ordinary, the seafood didn't taste fresh there just wasn't enough for 2, only 3 oysters, 4 prawns & 1 & 1/3 bugs with a few other bits thrown around, I wouldn't eat here again, not sure how it got the best seafood award, I'm tipping it was for best seafood on Queensland Ave and not actually in the whole of QLD, pretty disappointed
Megan
Average Service, Great Food.. I read a couple of the review's before we went for dinner last night, I was hopeful that it was going to be a great dinner.<br/><br/>I'll start of by saying the food was fantastic. This fish was cooked perfectly. The Steak was exactly what we ordered. <br/><br/>The service, not so much.<br/>We were seated in front of the bar (the same area people will go to pay). There was a constant rush going past the table. The red lighting on going around the bar seriously ruined it especially because I was sitting right in front of it. Left with a headache.<br/><br/>I'm not quite 100% sure what the theme of the restaurant is either. Seems like they went for a 'modern' take. Not sure if it was only me but I would have much preferred better music, so many tables in such a small place and just some better lighting. The music along with the red rope lights etc made me kind of feel like I was in a club eating a great meal. When paying a decent price for a meal I don't want to feel like I'm in a club. It could be set up so well, but the whole theme was just not the best. <br/><br/>The waitstaff wasn't rude... but we felt really rushed with everything. The waitstaff is pretty much running up and down (I understand its busy) but it almost felt like they were losing track of what's going on. The waitstaff was only ever at our table when they needed to be, to take an order. <br/><br/>Last time we went to a seafood restaurant and paid those prices - the waitstaff was dressed professionally, service was fantastic and I felt comfortable, like I could sit there the whole night. Omeros Bros Seafood Restaurant will be seeing me again, Yellowfin Seafood - the food was absolutely amazing, but I can't see myself eating there again. <br/><br/>"You can serve a great dish poorly and lose a customer for life."

Excellent customer service. Got a voucher for a seafood platter and bottle of wine.<br/>The seafood were very fresh and all the hot seafood on the platter were very tasty and cooked perfectly.<br/>Ordered the french brulee for dessert and it was the best brulee I've ever had!<br/>The customer service by the gentlemen was superb (just like at the fine dinning restaurants)!<br/>Will definitely go back!
Ckosta
Very good. It was my first voucher purchase, the platter was on the small side with what they actually provided. the quality was fine, the staff were great with the kids and the service overall was great. Kids meals were great value and really had great variety. Would I recommend? Yes.
Pam
Yellowfin was absolutely packed this Saturday night and now I know why, service was great, very friendly especially Aleysha, the entree of Turkish bread was lovely, we purchased a groupon voucher for a seafood platter for two this was excellent the scallops and prawns were huge and fresh!! The meals came out in good time,The wine the staff recommend was excellent... We are definitely going back :)
Rdbell1
It was ok. We tried the $40 three course menu, a bit substandard, tell me when three tiny scallops was an entree?? The calamari was a much more substantial entree. Garlic prawns was good however, and sorbet was tangy and tasty. All in all an average meal, good service the wait staff were super friendly, I suggest bigger size meals for the price range.
Andrew W
OK at best. Yellowfin came highly recommended in reviews I've read and it has won many awards, but not in recent years. The seafood we had for dinner was very good but the accompaniments (vegetables) were very poor - overlooked and smothered in a greasy, buttery sauce that just doesn't go well with fish. The chips were really good, but good chips do not a seafood restaurant make.
Danny Wong
The steak was very good and tasty. The serve could be bigger. Yellowfins signature oysters were excellent
DianaW
Diana. Have dined here once, cannot figure why they are always offering massive discounts on the back of shopper dockets & hotel key rings etc?? (maybe that speaks self explanitory words!) The food is nothing exceptional & the servings are pretty small, service was pretty crap the evening we were there & we were rather perplexed at having to pay a surcharge (maybe they have to make up for their massive discount fiasco!)
Darley
Went with the family and although the look of the restaurant can be old or slightly dirty the food was great. Great discounts for families with early dinners will give the platter a go next time.

GREAT FOOD GREAT SERVICE. I must say for a first time visit to Yellowfin Seafood Resturant. I was very happy!! The meals were lovely and fresh, Salmon and Barramundi were the two dishes myself and my partner had last night. The fod was melt in your mouth amazing. Glad we chose to go to Yellowfin!
Tara Benning
Great Deal. The 40% off between 5-6pm is an amazing deal, especially when the seafood was so delicious. Melt in my mouth! We had oysters, barramundi & calamari, beer...and the bill came to nothing. So worth going early.
Ryan
There's an old saying in the restaurant industry, "Serve a great meal poorly and you will lose the customer for life."<br/><br/>The food was sublime, however the arrogance and indifference of the manager, Jon was bewildering.<br/><br/>Left a bitter taste and we certainly won't be back.

Always fresh. We come here once a month and love the wild barramundi salad and chips. Absolutely fresh ,tho not huge portions. Service always good!

My partner and I had dinner here after purchasing a living social voucher. Staff were friendly and service was good but I wouldnt say they blew us away. We had kilpatrick oysters and Turkish bread for starters which were beautiful. I had the 'land and sea' which for $43.90 I would have expected more than 3 medium sized prawns. Whilst the prawns and root veggies were gorgeous, however the sirloin steak was tough. My partner had the Tasmanian salmon which he was very happy with. Would definately go again but would stick to the seafood next time
I Love Food
Great seafood at Yellowfin. Dropped in for lunch at Yellowfin and took advantage of a 40% discount for lunch between 12 and 1pm and we were very happy with our choice. Had the most beautifully cooked Yellowfin (signature dish of course) on an interesting salad of spinach, bonconcini, walnuts and grapes. Fish was superbly cooked and fresh. Also had the salt and pepper calamari, beautifully tender with nice salad. All in all a great food experience.

I am very cross. Had a beautiful meal with my wife and then the surcharge, for the public holiday?! Seriously doubtful!

The food was delicious, however the service was amateur and the tables were so close together that the waiters could barely walk between them and kept hitting our table! The atmosphere wasn't bad but the restaurant was so cramped that you couldn't see it let alone enjoy it.

Love love love this restaurant. We spent a good hour trying to find a decent seafood restaurant in the gold coast. Waiters were constantly there and were never left too long unattended! The seafood was very fresh. Best seafood marinara. Better than my mum.... Shhh dont tell her.

TERRIBLE EVERYTHING. Worst meal I have ever eaten. Worst service ever- this place is a sham. Tables old and dirty, chewy stuck to my skirt from underneath- repulsive.Horrible Horrible time. Nothing to write nice aabout this place , food was soooo disgusting. go down the road better food at Moo Moos.

Beautiful seafood. Platters are a treat. Squid is without peer. And if you snag an early bird offer with 40% off for orders between 12-1 or 5-6, I defy anyone to find a better value feed on the coast. We'll keep coming back!

A turn around experience!. Went to Yellowfin tonight, had the beer battered barra and the wild barra, not the best we've had, bit greasy for our liking, but our server was diligent and brought back our plates and they provided us with new dishes at no extra charge to us. <br/><br/>We felt bad complaining but my husband's a chef and we thought the chef should know, so we had to say something. Well, round two was much better, and was promptly served. <br/><br/>Hats off to the chef and the team at Yellowfin for providing excellent customer service as well as top notch food!

Great food, fantastic service. This is the first restaurant review I have ever written and felt compelled to after the meal we ate at Yellowfin two nights ago.<br/><br/>We stumbled accross the place which has arguably one of the worst locations in Broadbeach and were drawn in by the specials on the board outside.<br/><br/>I had Red Emperor (which was recommended) served on rustic Spanish style potatoes with a hint of chilli and it was to die for. Without a doubt the best piece of fish I have had in years. My partner went with the tuna which was served perfectly rare and she also really enjoyed it. We shared a seafood chowder to start which was really good too.<br/><br/>Do make the effort to search this little place out the next time you are in Broadbeach.<br/><br/>Simon

Yum yum good seafood. Lovely seafood platter - food was absolutely delicious, staff were fantastic - very friendly and helpful. Great to find restaurant staff with a personality, sense of humor and not afraid to offer an opinion! Even got to have a chat with the owner at the end of the night! Had a wonderful evening, 10 out of 10 all round.

Fresh seafood. Hi; i want to write a review as credit should be given where due; Yellowfin seafood restaurant seems to know what they are doing; the food is delicious and tasty; is fresh which is pleasing as too many restaurants serve up frozen; loved the staff; really friendly; a little cold so they should get some heaters and we sometimes get slowish service when its really busy; but overall they tick all the boxes and we love going there once a week; Well Done!!

I was there for lunch today and I had some of the freshest seafood I have had in a long time! Thumbs up all around!!

Great little restaurant at the end of the 'strip' in Broadbeach. The freshest of seafood served from a lovely menu. The staff are all first class, especially John the Manager. Been there many times and will continue to visit every time we are on the Gold Coast. Best seafood on the Coast!

Sensational Seafood.. Fresh really is Best. That's what we found when dining at Yellowfin Seafood Restaurant in Broadbeach. I have eaten at all of the seafood restaurants on the coast. This one was a real surprise tucked around the corner from surf parade. I thought I was eating fresh fish before, but I assure you once you taste the seafood at Yellowfin, you will know the difference. Great Night

From the moment we entered Yellowfin we were pleasantly surprised by the bubbly personalities of staff, the relaxed atmosphere and sensational appealing meals that were coming from the kitchen. The actual meals themselves could have won us alone, not only where they visually appealing but they were the best seafood dishes we have had on the coast, with fresh fish being the focus of the restaurant, it was no surprise. Thank you to all the staff who gave us great service…. It was a magic night, we will be back to try more of those WOW factor meals.

Seafood and the beach just go together. "From The HotPlate" entree platter It never fails that every time I go to a beach town I CRAVE fresh seafood. Something about the distant sound of waves crashing...the faint smell of sea salt in the air... and the warm, tropical climate that just BEGS for an epic seafood feast!!! If you don't take anything else away from our little food blog...pay attention to me when I say: "Listen to your tummy." Surf N Turf Not your heart ....not your brain ... your tummy - at least when it comes to food. I am happy to say I practice what I teach and on our visit to Broadbeach a few weekends ago we popped into Yellowfin Seafood for lunch. Half Lobster Mornay Yellowfin is located right next to Sage Restaurant. You can read our review of Sage - HERE.  We couldn't help eyeing Yellowfin when we visited Sage back in June. So we were thrilled when we were invited to check it out. Yellowfin is a very open, laid back seafood restaurant. The menu consists of an outstanding variety of local seafood. We truly believe this restaurant has some of the most incredible seafood platters on the Gold Coast. Great value too because they are M A S S I V E. We didn't try one on this occasion but boy did we enviously food stalk everyone who did... In conjunction with Gold Coast's leading fish suppliers Yellowfin sources fresh seafood daily from local markets and individual producers around Queensland. Sticky Date Pudding One thing I REALLY love about Yellowfin is how much care they put into the presentation of their dishes. You don't expect a seafood restaurant to present such stunning dishes! Relax and devour a seafood platter with your mates...or treat your special someone to a world class seafood dinner. I can't wait to visit Yellowfin Seafood again.  Rating (out of 5) : 5 Top Picks: "From the Hotplate" entree platter, Sticky Date Pudding Price: $$ Services: Lunch, Dinner, Takeaway *AmeriAus was the guest of Yellowfin Seafood Restaurant. The restaurant decor is simple, light and contemporary, which accurately reflects the menu. As the name 'Yellowfin' suggests, there is an abundance of seafood offered in many classic combinations. We went with a couple of the featured dishes (labeled 'signature' on their menu).
