We ate there on saturday. Alechandra was amazing with her staff. Everyone looked after us, played with our daughter, explained newest menu. We spent great time in Bavarian, music was German, beer was cold, and delicious same as pork knuckle! They have changed management since our last visit and improved so much. Venue looks beautiful! Well done, we will come back again
Great food, good drinks, and excellent service. If ur looking for a great late bite this is a good place! Awesome beer selection and good snacks. If going for dinner would recommend to call in advance to get a table inside.
Absolutely love it here every time we are on holidays we come here and it's always amazing I usually get the pork belly and it never lets me down, the service is quick and the food is amazing for its price
Good Beer average food poor service!
They were busy but service was not great.
Wouldnt recommend when there are so many other great options surrounding them. Try the Loose Moose!
On a relatively coolish afternoon or evening in Broadbeach, the Bavarian Bier Cafe seemed a logical place to park for a drink or two and then, well, settle in for dinner and another beer or two.
The beer is great and at happy hour it represents some of the best value rounds I've come across: $5 for half litre, on-tap German beer, not to mention $5 spirits. I recommend the Bavarian Lager.
To eat, the Mac n' Cheese balls with blue cheese were on par, if not a little bland, but in reality it's the schnitzels you come here for. We ordered the BBQ schnitzel with jalapeños, and the Swiss, which appropriately came with Swiss cheese, ham and a tasty mash.
Service and clearance of tables was a little sloppy, but then you accept you're on a variation of 'island time' when in Broadbeach, which comes with the partially sedentary nature of a warm tropical beach town. I would return - especially for the beer.
DO: The Mixed platter, hot dog and original schnitzel.
DON'T: Over order. The meals are massive. However they always provide a take away container if required.
TIP: Sit inside for table service or sit outside for bar service. Personally I prefer inside in the booth.
Excellent, friendly, service with both quality and quantity of the food being excellent. The beer list is a stonker and the atmosphere is very happy and casual.
Went here for an after dinner drink, bar was empty but staff were attentive and friendly. Parents ordered from bar but unfortunately there was a 17 year old in the party and was asked for ID and refused service even though she was with her parents. The beer was good, could have been fresher from kegs but not a deal breaker. Moderate pricing.
Good food - 3.5 (great garlic bread)
Great service 4.5
Decor 3.0 ( our booth had a seat that needed replacement)
Ambience - loud / jovial / fun / spirited
Demographic - 25yrs - 40yrs / young families can go and eat early.
I came here last saturday with a couple of my mates. We had a great time!! The Beer selection is outstanding and there new crafts beers are a good addition. I had a spicy burger which was the perfect amount of spice. Brilliant service from all Especially Johnny who was great banter
Such a cool spot for a drink and lunch - it's under the Oracle building and has a real light and airy feel. The german hot dog was perfect as was the chicken sesame salad and they have amazing sausage platters if you want to share too. We sat on the higher stools out front and there was a perfect breeze on a warm day. Better than the one in the CBD!
Located in a good spot this BBC ticks the boxes. The menu is the usual which is general tasty and generous and the beer is good. We were stuck on Stiegl's for the evening. Sausage tasting plate was substantial and the Apple Strudel the modestly sweet finisher. Really friendly staff through the whole place despite it being pretty busy. Good experience all around.
Ordered the BBQ pork ribs half rack with chips n slaw. Was delicious and a very generous serving. Beer was also very tasty and refreshing and would most definitely return for more. Downside is no separation from front bar so you're forced to listen to monotonous drum beats that kill the atmosphere a bit. Even with this however the food was a real highlight and German tape beer a treat, recommended.
Lazy Sunday lunch, relaxed atmosphere. Staff greeted us and found us a seat despite all the reserved table toppers
Huge beer list!
Starters salt and pepper squid was light, tasty and well cooked
Mains of frankfurter hot dogs were good but large in quantity
We rate it! Great service
Went to the Bavarian Bier Cafe for the first time in a few years, found the service great most tables were reserved but they found a spot for a table of 4 and our 8 month old, waitress was very helpful and attentive, food was great shared entree and all 4 mains were large well cooked and very filling, not to mention a sneaky stein or 2. Would definitely recommend and will be back.
Food and Beer. So firstly when you are dining here you go with expectations of massive. glasses of delicious German beer with big servings of German Food. It's not a fine dine restaurant and it gets very busy. So whilst I never expected exceptional service, my personal experiences here with service have been great. But it's the beer that we come here for (Yum).... oh and their pork roll (with cracking, lime aoli, apple sauce, sauerkraut on brioche). This place is great for a fun night with friends.
Yum! Good food and service. Best pork belly I've ever had. And damn tasty cheeseburger. Tasting platter for one was great value for money. Gin cocktail with jalapeño juice- amazing. Will be back to work our way through the menu.
Great service great food. Had the munich meat platter twice, so worth it.
Bit pricey, but tasty. Expensive, and a $1.30 surcharge to pay with your credit card. Ate the chicken schnitzel and pork belly sliders. Pork belly was a standout. SUPER tasty. Still $10 for two tiny buns is a bit much. Beer is cold.
Just had our second visit and were sadly let down. Our first visit the food and staff were amazing, we had a group of 12 and the drinks and meals were quick and no issues about splitting bills. Tonight the food was a let down- tough and half done and the staff slow and forgetful. Also today they decided no more split bills, after telling us upon booking for our table of 12 again that we could. Probably will try eagle st pier venue instead, hoping for a higher standard all around.
Meals are expensive, your average main meal will set you back about $30. They aren't massive meals either but taste so good. The beers are great and for $11 you will get 500ml of Germany's best. The waiter service is good and they will make sure you always have a beer at close hand. I tried the Lowenbrau original beer, so good on a 30 degree day. Yum. Get your wallet out though and make sure it's full of cash.
Surprisingly nice breakfast. Have enjoyed Dinner and Bier before but first time for brekky. Had Big Bavarian Breakfast. All very nice, eggs done perfectly.
Yummy food. Fantastic food and service, great beer
Authentic German. Great food, great cheap kids meals, beautiful beers, wonderful staff, main meals a little highly priced. All in all a lovely dining experience.
Great food, great service and of course great beer. Will be back
Pleasant atmosphere. We had snacks and beers. The food is overpriced for what it is but that is pretty much everywhere in Broadbeach. What we did eat was good. The service was good.
Looks nice. Food & service is only ok. place looks great
Great beers..yummo!
Food was good but expensive for what you get... $30 for bangers and mash (German style) and a little sauerkraut
The Hungarian goulash is the best!
Loved it! Was on the expensive side but the food was fantastic. Had the tasting plate and a schnitzel and pretty much licked the plate clean. Service was great and quick. What's the go with chairs on the angled floor? Didn't sit in them but can imagine them to be awkward. Recommend this place very highly.
Expensive but good food and good beer. Pork Knuckle is great as are the pretzels.
Great service, food was delicious..food & drink prices on the expensive side but overall a wonderful experience.. Money well spent!
Pure Bier | Pure Food | Pure Passion – the café’s slogan demonstrates the restaurant’s emphasis on bier, made according to strict Bavarian Purity Laws dating back to 1516, which allow only four ingredients to be used in the making of bier: malt, barley, yeast and water. Choose from the specialty pure biers, many available on tap, including Lowenbrau Original, Franziskaner Hefe-Weissbier Hell (available on tap), or Franziskaner served with splash of mango juice. Draft bier comes in three sizes: 300ml, 500ml and the massive litre steins, most often associated with the Oktoberfest.
I was keen to try the roast pork belly with crackling, bier jus and vegetables. At $29 it doesn't come cheap but after finishing everything on my plate, I decided it was worth every penny. The crackling was perfectly roasted, the pork tender and I absolutely adored the jus, which smothered the veggies and small roasted potatoes. If they can keep producing dishes of similar quality, then I'm sure many folks would return as would I.
Popped in today for a quick spot of lunch! Overall a nice experience!
We loved the fit out, service from the staff and beverages, all great.
Won’t lie the food was average today… calamari felt partly cooked, chicken was a little overdone…. Just wasn’t the nicest.
That said, would go again.
Had a lovely night out with my sister. The food was excellent as always and just overall great quality. Service time was amazing and food came out quickly and correctly. Jordan was definitely the highlight of our night, fabulous customer service and made us feel so welcome. Will definitely be coming back again and bringing more friends for a good time. 😁
Always a great time at The Bavarian Broadbeach! Delicious, hearty food (you will not be leaving hungry - and be sure to bring an appetite!😋)
Big shout out to Cesar, he’s a fabulous manager as well as Sam more recently. Thanks team for all round good vibes always. Can’t wait to be back!
We dined here twice while on a ten day holiday to Broadbeach. Both times we ordered the BAVARIAN TASTING PLATTER from the classics menu -
Crackling pork belly, crispy pork knuckle, German sausages, chicken schnitzel, sauerkraut, red cabbage, creamy mash, apple compote & bier jus
Food is amazing! And beer is too
PROST!
Today I was served by Kevin, who was such a legend and was extremely knowledgeable regarding the beers on offer. Kevins helpful tips pointed me to the Mango Weissbeir which I have to say was absolutely delicious. This is my second time here and the service offered by Kevin was next level. Will come back here again. 🙏👍🏼
This place is a must if you love a bit of atmosphere, awesome food, a quality German beverage and quality customer service. Go see Chris @ the barbarian broad beach.
