Review Kyomi - Broadbeach

Sunny Sunwoo Park
Vibe was perfect, staff were absolutely amazing, polite and friendly. We sat at the sushi bar in front of chefs. They were professional and efficient. We had set menu 1 and it was amazing. Everything was fresh, all sauces were going well with sushi and beef. I wish the portion was bit larger though.

Kiyomi was an amazing experience. From when we first arrived we were welcomed with exceptional service. The drinks menu was outstanding and there were so many options. The food was to die for and and it definitely met all expectations. There was nothing to fault and we will be back very soon. If you are looking for great Japanese food, I highly recommend Kiyomi.

Kiyomi has amazing, delicious japanese food and a beautiful atmosphere! The staff were so lovely and very helpful when we had questions about the menu and portion sizes. The food arrived quickly, was presented beautifully, and most importantly tasted fresh and delicious. I would definitely love to come back again and try more from their menu!

I had my birthday dinner here and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish with very helpful and friendly staff. I had the $150 per person set menu Drinks- Cosmopolitan cocktail could be better, it was a little average 1)king Fish, its very nice but I personally like a citrus taste more than the sauce I had 2) tuna, I forgot what it tasted like but I enjoyed it more than the kingfish 3)shrimps delicious 4) bugs, crumb wasn't good enough, a bit thick 5) tooth fish, very oily with strong sauce, I don't really like it personally 6) lamp cutlet very tasty 7) waygu very nice but it was a little lacking in seasoning so I dip in soy sauce 8) sushi plate all yummy apart from the California roll, I love the one with truffle in it :) 9) dessert - good

Excellent customer service! We were served by Daniel and he helped us taste different Sake until he found the perfect one for us. Couldn't recommend him more. We ordered the set menu which the food tasted well for its price. I'd recommend to at least try the set menu once honestly if you were to visit this Kiyomi. But well done to Daniel, even bent down to speak to us to make sure we can hear him better, it's the little things that make the experience a lot better. Thanks!

We have visited more than 20 times for our special day, but I am only leaving a review today. Today I was impressed by the waitress Iesha. we were made even more special because of her. Thank you very much.

I went specifically because of truffle month in July. Food was as amazing as I expected it to be.. our server Josh really made us feel welcome and we received such excellent service. Thank you every one at Kiyomi!! 💞

Very good quality sashimi, delicious bug tempura and seared scampi. It was a very busy day and we were waiting for over one hour for our dish. There was a really helpful waitress Risa who was really nice and help us to follow up our dish.
Katerina Sioulas
Totally amazing! We did menu #1. Each dish just got better and better, topped off with the most amazing dessert we have ever tasted. Really quick to deliver food, customer service was amazing, I couldn't recommend highly enough.
Shanni Robinson
Absolutely amazing. Loved the food & service. We had set menu #2 for $95 each & was delicious and well worth it. The staff were very welcoming & went over & above, made a special Japanese drink we requested not on the menu, researched it and made it for us. Definitely well worth a visit & will be back for another great evening😊

Menu 3 of the degustation is a must go to, well worth the money and you can try a variety of the delicious dishes. Flavour combinations used are pretty much spot on and wow your taste buds. The tooth fish and wasabi butter wagyu tenderloin are amazing.

Absolutely fabulous food, service and atmosphere. Never eaten Japanese and the menu looks confusing? No problem! Most helpful and knowledgeable wait staff I've ever been served by. And the food? Gorgeous looking and incredibly delicious. If you have food allergies, then this is the place to eat!
Barnes Raw
Most likely the best Japanese food I've ever eaten who would've thought that raw fish good taste so good.

Had the set menu #2. Delightful morsels of deliciousness. The balance of flavours and presentation of each dish was perfect and truly an experience well worth the expense. Looking forward to going again. Arigatou gozaimasu Chase Kojima. The only slight fault with the evening was the pop music playing loudly. It just didn't seem to resonate with the food or style of restaurant and felt at times we were competing with it trying to talk to each other. It was irritating.
Joe Welch
Very expensive but the quality of the food is exceptional. The wine list is littered with overpiced hype wines. Not many cellar door originals. Worth it for the food.
Dianne Ayling
We had the set menu no 2#. So yum and as my best friend and I were out celebrating both our May birthdays, they did up this gorgeous plate for us.
Charmaine Anthony van Niekerk
The food and service could not be faulted. Left there feeling good about going back again and we highly recommend Kiyomi. It was our anniversary and they made our evening extra special.
Sarah Lewis
Great cocktails and food. Staff were lovely and very helpful with selecting what to have from the menu. Excellent place to escape the casino vibe with out leaving the casino.
Alana Arvanitis
Fresh + exquisite! We indulged in a set menu, each serve was a flavour sensation and visually stunning. Love the food, great wine, friendly service.
Henrietta Tooma
Fantastic food with amazing flavours and presentation. The waitstaff are professional, knowledgeable and friendly. A great ambiance.

Set Menu No 1 - every dish an absolute taste sensation that got more delicious with every morsel. Taste bud heaven! Already planning my next visit.

Awesome food. The famous Japanese teapot cocktail is a must..
Steph
The food was amazing to the palate and to the eye. The staff were fun and professional. The place was intimate but also extremely relaxed and bustly.

The seafood was spectacularly fresh! The crispy rice and spicy tuna is a nice addition to balance out the sashimi and oysters, in addition to the donatsu for dessert! Would recommend for all, and will be coming back in the near future! :)

This would be one of the best restaurants I’ve had the pleasure to dine in. Everything served to us was so fresh and delicious! I don’t think we had a dish we didn’t enjoy. Staff were attentive and explained the menu so well. Thank you for an enjoyable night - will definitely be back.

Our waiter Shane was extremely helpful in explaining the menu and was very knowledgeable on what each meal entails. He was attentive and friendly. The food here is well presented and tasty. But there is room to improve as there was no stand out dish. In saying that it was still a very enjoyable meal. Cocktails are ok. Nothing to be overly excited about. However they do have an extensive wine list which also covers Japanese whiskeys, beers and sake. The desserts are divine. Especially for those who enjoy a zesty dessert, the yuzu pannacotta is a must. Overall a lovely fine dining experience with excellent service. Definitely worth a visit.
Miagoreng.com
So accommodating and they were able to squeeze us in at the bar, limited menu but still amazingly delicious. The kingfish, sashimi platter and the seared scampi with foie gras is divine. The Japanese Teapot is also a nice not overly sweet cocktail. Possibly the best service we got on the Gold Coast!
Cindy
Chef Chase Kojima never dissapoint. Ordered the set menu on December 2018 and it was fantastic. For me the highlight was the tempura. All of the dish was outstanding. Will absolutely visit Kiyomi again.

Hands down best restaurant experience we’ve ever had. We chose the chef’s menu and it was amazing! Highly recommend this restaurant if you’re not afraid to splurge.

One of the better Japanese tapas places I’ve been to. Service was one of a kind. Food was a delight - one after the other. My favourites were the chargrilled prawns with garlic butter, the toro sushi (BEWARE, extremely melt-in-your mouth fatty) and of course, DESSERTS. You can’t go wrong with ordering the donuts. I personally recommend the mango pudding with the jasmine ice cream. It’s super refreshing and perfect to cleanse the soul.

Note: I’m already planning for my next visit.
Beau
The best Japanese ever! Had the oysters, sashimi plater, sushi and desert. Every dish was 5 stars and couldn’t fault in any way. Would come back in a heartbeat
Luvfood Luvpost
Delicious food with superior service. When in GC, it’s one of our go to Japanese restaurants and it never disappoints. Make sure you make a reservation before heading to the restaurant as it’s always fully booked.

Came here for the first while on holidays and definitely made a great impression.
The quality of the produce is very high and what they make out of it is even more delicious!
Since there were four of us we ordered a variety of different things and I can safely say there wasn’t enough I didn’t like.
The highlights were the ice shaved oysters and the soft shell crab rolls but again everything was delicious!
Service was friendly and accommodating.
Travelling Catato
Nice food served in a place with amazing atmosphere. Definitely would consider paying a second visit if fine dining comes to mind again. However, one of the staff members seemed a little unfriendly as we tried to community with her, which is why I’m going to refrain from rating the visit as a perfect experience.
Onara
Essentially Japanese cuisine, but with enough of a twist to each dish to make everything unique at Kiyomi. The scallop sushi and crispy rice tuna were especially outstanding, along with the cuttlefish tempura
Tracy

Treating ourselves to dinner at Kiyomi. We opted for Set Menu 1 which is $95 per person. All I can say is the flavours started amazingly well and was blown away. What did disappoint me was the sushi. Was a bit mild to end with after all the strong flavours. My favourite surpisingly was the King Brown Mushroom dish! The flavours were amazing! Dessert was very tasty too.
Great place to treat the better half for an anniversary or a birthday.
Next time I will chose my own dishes.

We had the set menu2 . It’s good amount of food . I Wasn’t happy to sit on the high chair. But I have to say it’s Very high quality food ~ sashimi was fiery fresh . its worth the money .

The service is awesome. The tuna with crispy rice is interesting. Love the soft and juicy lamb cutlets. The grill prawns never go wrong. And the toro made my day. It is a wonderful experience.

The best Japanese food that I've had in Australia! The seafood is delicately prepared and is always presented so beautifully. The prices are expensive, but you get what you pay for. Top quality seafood in a beautiful venue.

One word describes this restaurant.... AMAZING!!!
WOW excellent service and high quality food! Really enjoyed eating here the other night got looked after by a former Melbourne lady Miki! Highly recommended love it!!!

Stunning!
From the restaurant design to the menu to the staff to the food. You’re paying high prices for high quality.

Really impressed with staff who were very informative and welcoming. Our waitress, Ayako, was so lovely and informative.

Presentation of the food was impressive and the flavours danced in my mouth.
My favourite of our order was the octopus, watermelon, chilli and feta izakaya - absolute yum. Would have loved more of it.

Went for my Birthday, is very open and can hear the Casino floor. Some of the staff were very rude given the prices you are paying. OK if you were at the casino for something else but there are much better Japanese restaurants on the coast.
KelzFoodChronicle
Thoughtful and colorful menu, with many traditional Japanese food options. Made to share (Japanese tapas), this menu was explained clearly for those who aren't aware of Japanese cuisine. The staff were especially friendly and helpful. Reasonable whiskey and wine menu, some unusual, yet delicious cocktails available.Perfect for a date or small group dinner, book ahead of time! $$$/$$$$ ~ $120/2people with drinks

Beautiful presentation and excellent taste. Ambience was the only issue as it was too noisy.

We were seated at the “lobby” so people past by us to the restrooms or into Kiyomi or the other Italian restaurant. It might be different if one’s seated inside the restaurant.

Drinks
A good selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Not the normal classic drinks as choices. The two we picked were delicious.

Food
We shared a mix of entree and main.
We ordered the special sashimi, which came with a surprising entrance of nitrogen smoke. We also tried the wagyu nigiri, which was beautiful.

Agedashi tofu was interesting, made with the different sauce that is strongly flavoured with mushroom. The octopus dish was interesting too, mixed with watermelon, an interesting mix.

For the main, we had the chicken and teriyaki fish.I found the fish flavoured too strongly but still delicious. Perhaps it’s better to go with rice.

Overall it’s a beautiful dinner but if combined with better ambience, it would be even more perfect.

⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
• Sokyo's sister store •⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍴KIYOMI⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🌟: 9/10
Being the sister store of sokyo, i had high expectations from the beginning, however i had the MOST AMAZING EXPERIENCE at Kiyoma - 100% recommend!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🤤👍🏼: Could not fault any dish, however the highlights were the seared scampi with foie gras, sashimi sample and the black cod!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
👎🏼: Pork Robata⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🎆: The atmosphere was very relaxed and romantic ☺

We got one of the set menus: the sashimi, a few tempuras, pan fried rice tuna, miso fish, lamb rack, wagyu beef, sushi and a dessert platter. It was a well rounded set menu.
The highlights were definitely the pan fried rice tuna and the sashimi.
The miso sauce was really strong and overpowering for the fish, but the fish itself was beautifully soft and tender.
The waiter was really nice and non pretentious but professional at the same time. The restaurant itself overlooks the entrance to the Star Casino. Not exactly the best view.
Overall a good experience here.
FoodieGuru_770
Fancy tasty and well trained staff. I think this is a good quality Japanese restaurant and the food is second to one. Really good quality fresh sashimi and the use of dry ice really makes it spectacular. A good place to try and enjoy.

The sushi and sashimi here is amazing and up there with some of the best I've had in Australia! The fish is of excellent quality and completely melts in your mouth. Every dish we ordered was excellent, although the desserts didn't quite have the same wow factor as the mains for me. Can't wait to come back here when I'm next in the Gold Coast.
I"v been kiyomi many times. The first time was their opening ceremony. And I must say that I never been disappointed. By the way, Strong suggestion: king prawns, king prawns, king prawns!

Simply one of the best Japanese meals I've had. Hard for me to find fault with anything at all. The location, venue and service were all 5 star! Favourites were the Tempura Pumpkin and Grilled Prawn Izakaya. Tried a few of the cocktails too and they were top notch. Will be back on my next trip to QLD.

Brilliantly executed and well worth it,been here for 3 special occasions over the last 3 years thank you staff and chef you're ace😉keep up the great work appreciated

Staff were very friendly with a warm welcome and the waiter we had (Chai) was very helpful and informative with the dishes and our questions. The Signature Teapot cocktail tastes very fruit and refreshing and can be easily shared between two if you wish. We ordered the salmon belly roll, tempura broccoli, crispy Tuna rice, kingfish ceviche, wagging beef and eel. Great array of tastes and enough to share between four people but we couldn't help but try the dessert tasting plate. This was amazing apart from the donuts which kind of disappointed me a bit not really being a traditional Japanese flavour.

Kiyomi is hands down the best Japanese food my boyfriend and I have ever had and possibly the best food we have ever had in general. Came here on a Thursday night, the vibe was great. The staff were very attentive and knowledgeable, helping with anything we were unsure of and happy to give recommendations. Josh served us and he was incredibly helpful!
We ordered about six dishes plus dessert to share, which was plenty. The standouts for us were tempura scallops, which were absolutely phenomenal - our jaws literally dropped, they were so tasty.
Another standout was the wagyu roll (see photo). We debated on whether or not to get this and thank god we decided to! It is hard to fully explain how delicious these rolls were - they had us smiling from ear to ear, it was pure euphoria eating these!
The dessert menu (6-7 choices) was difficult to choose from so we got the platter which incorporates 4 of the desserts on the menu (see photo also) and they were all unbelievably incredible. Such different desserts that we've never seen anywhere else, so delicious and so beautifully presented.
Overall, the entire meal was amazing, the sashimi was beautiful and fresh, the combinations of flavours were all spot on, and it was obvious that they pay close attention to combining the right textures here too!
It may be slightly pricey but the food is worth it.
Kiyomi please open in Melbourne! 10/10

Awesome and super fresh seafood. We ordered the set menu and none of any dish is under performance. My partner can't really eat raw fish, but their way to season and the freshness just make my partner happy with sashimi! Waiter is good and helpful, definitely come back again!

Can not highly enough of this unbelievable restaurant! The door is second to none in Australia, and the service was extremely efficient and even cheeky in the best of ways

Quality fine dining Japanese restaraunt. Staff are trained well, one way I test the staff is the response rate of water being re-pour without asking and definately ticks the box. The food is delicious and melts in your mouth! Cost wise can be quite pricey so I would recommend it as a nice treat once in a while for all the hard work earning to feed off nice food :)
Yixiaokewatermelon
Nice food and lovely ambiance. It's kind of western fusion with Japanese cousin. Staff are lovely and patient to explain the menu and provide some recommendations. Food's presentation is great but the beef portion is bit little. Desserts are amazing, very impressed by miso and Sakura flavor ice cream. Location is just inside the star casino and price is reasonable.

What a breath of fresh air Kiyomi brings to not only Jupiters casino but also the Gold Coast food scene. It's been some time since I have dined at Jupiters in fact I remember this place being the old Charters Towers restaurant. Kiyomi is modern Japanese in style. Chic black interiors, walls of wine and service with a warm smile. I am a lover of Japanese food so can be picky. What a pleasant experience Kiyomi presented to me. An ultra delectable array of perfect Japanese fare, plated with style and seasoned to perfection. Wow wow wow, I was in awe of this restaurant finally taking Japanese food in Australia to the next and deserved level. I highly recommend going all out to order a banquet. It is a place where you will melt dining on such delicious food!

The best most authentic Japanese food I've had in Australia! I'm not usually one to enjoy sashimi but it was incredible.. every bite was mouthwatering and the flavours to die for. We had the $95 banquet.. stunning and worth every $$.. plenty of food. The highlight was the waygu beef with wasabi butter and crunchy rice with raw tuna. To be honest though it was all incredible and the service was great.

I heart friends' birthdays! And what better way to celebrate than a 7 course degustation with matched wines & sake??

I'll spare you the minutiae of every course and their mathematical inevitability of sequence. If I get started on the details I won't be able to stop! Suffice to say this is high level modern Japanese cuisine of exceptional quality. We've all tried to pinpoint our highlight dish but none of us can pick a fav. Each was so exceptional in its own way. There were also a number of flavours & elements that were entirely new to us. The personalised birthday message & candle on our BFF's dessert plate was lovely!

Our evening had a seamless flow with professional servers who managed everything with grace and aplomb. There were some communication hiccups but nothing insurmountable. Alcohol pairings were well considered and the various sake selections very interesting.

This is a destination restaurant - would happily make the hour trip from Brisbane to the Gold Coast just to dine here again.

Loved how good the service is here. Very quick and friendly service and meals came out fast which was great.
The seafood was very fresh and all dishes were delicious. There wasn't anything I did not like :)
5/5 for the food as expected of the sister restaurant of Sokyo @ Star Sydney (Kingfish, ocean trout, scampi and spicy tuna are all delicious) but definitely lacking in ambiance and service which really soured the meal.

We were a table of four celebrating my dad's birthday and had high expectations given its popularity and chef-hat status. However, we had the deep misfortune of having Mari assigned as our server. Even with the restaurant only half-full, we still had immense difficulty having our dishes cleared between courses (having to help kitchen staff clear the table when our next courses arrived with Mari nowhere in sight), having our water refilled (needing to ask multiple times on multiple occasions since she would only fill two of four glasses) and often waited up to 15 minutes to get Mari's attention (dragging our meal out to a painful 2.5 hrs), only to give up and end up asking other staff. For the prices we paid (at over $100 a head), service was definitely a let down.

Always a must have when I go visit Jupiters Casino. Make sure you make a reservation, up to this point they are still very busy during dinner times. Their sushi, sashimi, mains, desserts...the whole lot is absolutly fabulous!!
Dallas Kouba
Very tasty food. We ordered a bit of everything. Definitely enjoyed the pork, emaname beans and the soft shell crab sushi! Inky thing lacking is the price. It's quite expensive for portion sizes.
Mark
Have eaten at many great Japanese restaurants around the world and this would have to be one of the best in my opinion. The intricate yet simple dishes are beautifully presented coupled with perfectly balanced flavor.

DO: The set menu number 3 if it's you're first time. Actually, only do this - it was/is sensational.

DON'T: Want to do the above since you're not hungry? Then order this: crispy rice tuna, miso toothfish, kingfish, Wagyu tenderloin and scampi.

TIP: Must must book - online bookings too.
Ilovefood
A bit disappointed with the food, it wasn't bad, just didn't meet expectations of a hatted restaurant. For me Japanese food is delicate. But i found the flavours too strong and not well balanced. The ambience is also a bit distracting being open air to the rest of the casino.

Living in London, the thing I miss most about home (Sydney) is the sheer number of high quality Japanese restaurants we have to choose from. Don't get me wrong, London has its fair share...however, in terms of quantity, quality and fish variety, it does not even begin to scratch the surface of what is on offer in Sydney.

I recently returned to Australia for Christmas and immediately wanted a familiar fix. However, as my family gathering was set for the Gold Coast that year, I needed to expand my horizons further north if I wanted to cure my cravings upon touch down. Queue: Kiyomi.

Having enjoyed Chase Kojima's Sydney outpost, Sokyo, I had high expectations for Kiyomi and I am pleased to say that these were largely met. The fish was as fresh as could be and the variety available was impressive. The seared scampi was a unanimous favourite, as was the miso-marinated toothfish. You cannot go wrong with thick-cut slices of super fresh sashimi either!

Definitely some of the best Japanese you can will find on the Gold Coast. My only complaint is that the restaurant has a direct view of the casino gaming floor, which doesn't make for the nicest of settings when it comes to an intimate dinner.
I Ate My Way Through
Following our first taste of Jupiters’ newly renovated poolside experience, our next dinner was much more familiar. If you’ve read our previous posts on Sokyo’s omakase degustation or the breakfast buffet at Sokyo, then you’re most likely to be acquainted with the name Chase Kojima. This talented young chef (ex-Nobu) has been wooing Sydneysiders with his modern take on Japanese cuisine, and now has brought his world class skills to the Gold Coast!

Brilliant flavour combinations created with seasonally-driven, locally-sourced produce are what to expect when dining at Kiyomi, the modern Japanese restaurant at Jupiters Hotel & Casino Gold Coast. There has been a lot of buzz surrounding this izakaya-style establishment and it certainly disappoint with Executive Chef Chase Kojima of Sydney’s Sokyo, and chef de cuisine Adam Lane, serving a succession of creative dishes for a nine-course degustation.

Took the recommendation by a friend to visit this one-hatted Japanese restaurant. Set-up and service made me a comfortable feeling. Ordered the Scampi and assorted sashimi. Both came out freshly with theatre-presentation. Seafood soup came in with lots of different kinds of seafood and a very sweet soup base. All mains are Heroes. Lamp chop was done perfectly in med-rare as well as the Wagyu +7(a wise grade selection for pan-fried). The most impressive dish should be the Alaskan King Crab, it was so sweet and fresh. I could not deny that they really served the very delicious dessert on the night. Although the meals are prepared in a fusion food style, they deserve a one-hatted status. Highly recommend you to try if you are fans of Japanese food.

Such a great first experience. It's one thing to have good tasting food but the cherry on top falls down to excellent customer service - I definitely had both. One thing you need to know about the Japanese is that their standard is set above and beyond. It's all in the details and my god were there details EVERYWHERE. The food was fascinating, like a pretty little work of art, each dish was a canvas - placed so well you didn't want to destroy it. Taste was fresh and full of quality and authenticity. We ordered a lot that night (probably got a bit passionate with the ordering here) and weren't disappointed. Yes, it's expensive, but I certainly felt it was worth it. My favorites are the tuna tataki, sashimi, scampi, king brown mushroom and wagyu dragon roll. I love my raw tuna so when I say its good, it's amazing. Thank you for a great night!

This restaurant is nothing but amazing. For a place in Jupiters casino I was a little hesitant as I thought it might be slightly underwhelming but oh my was I wrong!
The decor was beautiful and was a romantic setting but also had a great vibe. We were assigned a waiter which made the evening that little bit better explaining what dishes were and recommendations on meals etc.
The drinks menu was extensive and had traditional beers to quirky cocktails served in tea pots.
The food menu itself had great variety and all reasonably priced for the caliber of restaurant.
We ordered around 8 dishes and shared which was a prefect way to do it as you could experience all the flavours Kiyomi had to offer. Each dish we sampled was nothing but amazing! Even a simple item of the spiced edamame beans were amazing.
I couldn't help but order dessert. So many textures and combination of flavours. Will definitely be returning here! 5 stars for me

Excellent Service... Our Waiter "Chai" was very attentive... Food amazing.. Some of the best dishes I have eaten. So much flavour and freshness.. Scampi a real winner. Dessert wasn't the best my advice would be to skip it and retain the flavor of the other dishes,..

I am a huge Japanese cuisine fan, so I must say that these kind of "western twisted" Japanese isn't my cup of tea. However, that doesn't mean that this restaurant is not good. Staff are lovely and attentive, newly established so the decor is good.
When I want sashimi or sushi, I always want to taste its ingredients. Those western twists add too many fancy things that makes us forget what authenticity flavors are.

Excellent service. Waiters were very attentive. Delicious food! So tasty and mouth watering! It's worth every penny!! Highly recommend it!!

Highly recommend restaurant to dine at in the GC!!! Who knew this place at the jupiter casino (upstairs near the hotel lobby) would exists!!! One of the best Japanese restaurant I've been tooo!!! And ive been to japan!!! Mmmmmmmm

Location wise for the restaurant it is very open and exposed surrounded by hotel guests and diners at the Italian restaurant next door but we liked the vibe and ambience. Didn't feel too crowded or loud and the tables were spread out so we still had our privacy. Services were amazing!! Sarah and chai was lovely offering us suggestions and very efficient.

Tapas menu so we ordered 4 dishes and a rice to share. First we had the morton bay bug tempura which was light and fresh! Then the pork belly special and chicken yakitori which were both so tender and the flavour were perfect!!! The chicken was moist and had a lovely crisp skin. We had these with the rice. Then finally we had the wagyu sushi roll which was omg flavoursome!! Good sixe portions and we were so full i couldn't even squeeze in dessert :(.

Ps photo isn't great because there were some coloured lights going on around the venue. Tasted so much better then it looks in the pic!

Food was top notch - one of the best Japanese meals I've had in Australia. Service was a bit messy, with a change over of waiters towards the end of the night. But would still come back - for the food.
Jules
Didn't eat tonight but can absolutely vouch for the service here. I sat and worked at a casual table at the edge of the restaurant and the staff were nothing short of wonderful. Clumsily I spilt my drink and shattered the glass and they
made me feel human not embarrassed and their drink service was polite, professional... A very pleasant change for my new home - Gold Coast - congrats team, I'll be back to eat soon!

The best japanese dining experience Ive had. Great fresh seafood, fantastic presentation, lovely combination of flavour, attention to detail and great service.

Hands down one of the best dining experiences I have ever had at the Gold Coast. Could not fault any dish that was served that night. Everything was so fresh and full of flavour! Highlights for me were the scampi, tempura broccoli, fried cuttlefish and king brown mushroom. Definitely coming back again in the near future.

Japanese investment in the 80s and early 90s saw more than a handful of Japanese restaurants pop up – and we’re not just talking about bastardised sushi kiosks selling teriyaki chicken joints either. But while the Goldie did cheap to mid-end Japanese restaurants well, there was very little in terms of fancy high-end Japanese (except for maybe Ten ). That was, until Sydney’s Chase Kijoma rocked up to launch Kiyomi in the $345 million revamped Jupiters Casino in Broadbeach. Broady, you’re alright. Casinos are casinos so I’ll always think they’re inherently tacky. But situated a floor away from the flashing neon lights (and bogans) of the gaming rooms is a cool, modern Tokyo-inspired oasis. ‘Kiyomi’ is the word for a Japanese hybrid citrus fruit that’s not dissimilar to a mandarin; it is also the name of Kijoma’s mother, which I thought was a really sweet touch. Chase Kijoma may not yet be a household name on the Gold Coast but his culinary rock star pedigree (lead Nobu kitchens worldwide and heads up the award-winning Sokyo at The Star in Sydney) means that he’ll be a name Gold Coast foodies will be accustomed to hearing. Kiyomi’s décor screams out Tokyo cool. A customised fluro UV installation by a Tokyo artist combined with mood lighting did initially make me think Surfers Paradise nightclub on a Saturday night, but wooden cubes and glazed pottery brought the whole fit-out down to earth, adding a hint of sophistication. To start, we had some cocktails. Adam decided to go for the signature cocktail, the Chasing Kiyomi. Paying homage to the hybrid citrus frui

Incredible food, great atmosphere, friendly service. The food and flavour combinations are incredible! Each dish is made to perfection and styled with such finesse. Best place for high-end Japanese cuisine. There is really nothing like it on the Gold Coast!

Kiyomi is bringing modern, yet distinctly Japanese food to the GC! The kitchen is headed by the internationally recognized chef Chase Kojima. Kojima is known for his cutting edge Japanese cuisine, utilizing surprising combinations to create a very unique, and enjoyable dining experience.
Australian Foodie
What do Las Vegas, Dubai, London, Los Angeles, the Bahamas and the Gold Coast have in common? Apart from the obvious answer (giraffes), there is one other thing that ties these places together; food created by Chase Kojima. Chase has lead kitchens at various Nobu restaurants around the world, and now has opened his own Japanese restaurant at the Gold Coast: Kiyomi . This is his second Australian restaurant, following the opening of Sokyo in Sydney. Kiyomi is housed within Jupiters Casino on Gold Coast's Broadbeach. If the Blackjack table is unkind to you, at least you know that you can score a jackpot here in terms of top quality food. To go with good food, you need good drinks and in this regard, Kiyomi really delivers. As I was driving back to Brissy after dinner, I made the most of the Mocktail menu. I did however, bring along a professional cocktail taster who strongly vouched for the beautiful blends on offer at the Kiyomi bar. Below are: Kawaii Fizz: Coconut Cream, Vanilla, Strawberries and Lemonade Miyagi Mojito: Apple Juice, Passionfruit Puree, Lime Juice and Soda Water Yuzu Collins: Gin, Grapefruit Bitters, Shochu, Yuzu Juice Sake Each of these drinks were stellar- if you only have time for a drink at Jupiters, this is the bar to frequent. The Kawaii Fizz came with toasted coconut on top which made for some great texture in the strawberries-and-cream-lolly-tasting drink. If we thought the drinks were amazing, we were about to be blown away with the food: Japanese Seven Spice Edamame, Soy, Bonito Flakes (bonito is a type of tuna) Watermelon palate cleanser Chef's surprise dish The spiced edamame was moreish and worked well with the slightly salty bonito flakes. Everyone loved the watermelon palate cleanser, especially the creamy, creamy sauce. The 'surprise dish' rolls were truly decadent, and had bits of watermelon in them to freshen them up. They were topped with foie gras, which I do genuinely feel bad about eating, and usually steer clear of ordering my
I'm Still Hungry
Chase Kojima may not be a household name in the Gold Coast, but in Sydney, he’s known by anyone invested in Japanese cuisine. Head Chef of The Star’s Sokyo Restaurant, his innovative flair and willingness to incorporate elements that transcend Japanese cooking tradition has solidified his position as head honcho of one of Sydney’s best Japanese restaurants. For this always-hungry blogger, Sokyo is my absolute favourite spot for Japanese in Sydney (price considerations notwithstanding).

For locals, Kiyomi is a stunning transformation of the mezzanine level restaurant overlooking the lobby bar. Acoustically transformed, its minimalist design nods in reference to traditional Japanese restaurants: muted brown tones, the privacy of booth seating along one side, Japanese murals and layered wood features. Yet it’s overtly modern as well, with a fabulous cocktail bar on entry, high bar seating running down the middle of the restaurant, and moody lighting – great for a romantic interlude; not so great for food photography!

Dressed with edible flowers, green apple matchsticks, foie gras and mizuna, this scampi is a feast on the eye and a seductive dance on the palate.

Open just 9 weeks, Kiyomi Restaurant is set to be another resounding success for executive Chef Chase Kojima. Chase is revered for his innovative, modern approach to Japanese cuisine...exudes a welcoming warmth. ...The menu announced Sashima & Raw dishes would follow, I was excited. The dish placed before us was an absolute showstopper. Sashimi Scampi was spectacular!

I f you are a fan of Sokyo in Sydney then you will no doubt be happy to know that chef Chase Kojima has teamed up with Jupiters Hotel & Casino to create the newest Japanese dining experience on the Gold Coast - Kiyomi.

Foodwise, the menu concept is not dissimilar to Sokyo, focussing on modern Japanese. The choose-your-own sashimi options are a little shorter here (a dozen at Kiyomi versus 19 at Sokyo) but we're impressed that they make their own soy sauce here, poured generously into a little saucer at the table.se citrus that tastes like grapefruit mixed with orange.
