Review Harvest Buffet - Broadbeach

Chris O'Connor
I love Harvest Buffet. Went in for dinner one night, looking for somewhere different to eat on the Gold Coast and fell in love! There is just so much on offer and it is all so tasty. The dessert selection was my favour (sweet tooth) and it did not disappoint. Highly recommend.

Had a great experience dining here. I have a seafood allergy and the chef made sure that I know what’s the dish I’m not allowed and she’s so nice that she made a bowl of fried rice for me with pork on it. Enjoyed the desserts, it’s sooo good! Overall experience: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Breakfast was amazing! We got there when they opened at 6.30am and the staff could not be more helpful. One staff member, Samantha, was really attentive and explained what we could have and what we could ask for (Which was pretty much anything). I asked for poached eggs and they were cooked to perfection. The hash browns, mushrooms, bacon and condiments were plentiful and delicious. You could go back as often as you liked and the pastries and fruit were fresh. There was a flowing chocolate faucet, which kids and adults enjoyed with marshmallows. I was happy to see the tables were cleaned regularly and our plates taken from our table when we were finished with a course. The only recommendation I would make would be to have a few more hands free sanitiser stations around, but that's only because of the current health situation. Otherwise it was perfect and we couldn't be more satisfied!

Left extremely full and satisfied. It’s good how they have various cuisines in sections to choose from. The Mexican beef with sour cream, guacamole and cheese sauce was so good. Plenty of mouthwatering desserts to inhale.

Your typical buffet here in The Star Casino and hotel. It’s quite good and lots of tables. The hot breakfast items were really well done and tasty. I’m not sure on the price because it was included with my room at the Dorsett hotel. Good coffee as well. 😎👍

Ive had really nice dinner at Harvest buffet at The Star Casino with friend of mine. Food was delicious and freshly cooked. Had such a good enjoyable time. Would recommend everyone to try this new place.

Dined her 3 times in one week. Amazing variety of cuisine...something for everyone. Thoroughly enjoyed the pizza, pasta and dessert sections specially the chocolate mud cake an creme Brule.

Amazing customer service & options & cleanliness! Love the head chef especially who knew I couldn't have any of the pastries or egg so made me these special chocolate strawberries at breakfast and special garlic bread at night! They really look after their guests and make you feel like you're not missing out on anything when you have dietary requirements 💞 From the moment I walked in, the head chef came out to take me on a tour to see what I could have and offered alternatives to food I couldn't have which was also amazing and definitely not what I was expecting! The cleanliness level is very high and everyone is wearing a proper face mask and ensuring they wipe down everything and swap out the food constantly so it's fresh

too busy, food quality low even for a buffet, i feel like i paid $75 to feel depressed. also there is no lighting over our table

I will never return to this place again . Got told 2 diffrent prices once on the phone , then when we arrived . Thats not the biggest issue the biggest issue is waiting for long periods of time for certain foods . For that price i will avoid and eat somewhere better . Rang twice to complain no one gets back to you . :(

Looks absolutely fantastic since the refurbishment. Loved the breakfast and awesome for a family as plenty of room
Aimee.
Not bad for a buffet but could’ve had more seafood variety especially since it was $80 a person. I thought the liquid nitrogen desert and chocolate waterfall was unique and different. All the other food was mainly delicious- some were dry and average after being sitting out for so long.

Dined with a group of 7 on a Saturday night. The buffet costs $64.50pp however the price gets cheaper depending on your level of membership with the casino. We were greeted by a very abrupt and unfriendly staff member who made us feel unwelcome. They were very busy at the time and it seemed as though tables were at a premium however this part of the experience was the only reason I could not give a 5 Star review. We were split into 2 tables which was not an issue for us and from that point on our expectations were all exceeded. Buffett included fresh oysters, prawns, crabs and moreton bay bugs plus a huge variety of roast meat and various Asian/western dishes. Dessert bar had a lot of variety and free soft drinks included. The wait staff were very attentive considering how busy the venue was. Overall great value for money.

Came for the seafood buffet and absolutely loved it! Everything was constantly getting filled up, so nothing was ever low and we were never waiting on anything!
SEAFOOD GALORE!!!
However, the other foods, like the roast and the vegetables weren’t as hot but they still had flavour and was still quite nice

We waited 45 minutes and paid $50 each to choose from roast beef, roast pork, a chicken leg casserole, potato bake, beef and Guinness casserole, ordinary fried rice and a pretty lack lustre noodle dish. There where cold meat cuts and cold salads and prawns which where bland. Pretty underwhelming food choice for the price. Wouldn’t go again and wouldn’t recommend it. Go to the local RSL, much cheaper.

Breakfast buffet $35 is a very average casino breakfast buffet. Very light on floor staff. There are no staff to take coffee or egg orders.
Coffee comes from a machine.
15 min line to get omelette, fresh scrambled or fried eggs 🙄...
Milk run out for cereal
Pastries were very average and selection small
No exotic fruit like mange, paw paw, dragon fruit or even strawberries!!!!
No nuts to put into yogurt
Just a single choice for dim sum
No Asian noodles or Asian option except congee.
Very poor effort Star.....
This is one of my favourite buffet places! The quality of the food and variety is great value for money in comparison to other places. The buffet consisted of seafood (prawns, oysters, crab, bugs, mussels) which was fresh, hot food was good and desserts also a highlight. The service was also outstanding. I would like to mention particularly the manager Katie who went above and beyond and even organised a complimentary birthday cake for my mum. Will definitely be back! Here are some of the photos of the buffet, there were far too many dishes to get photos of them all

Took my two children (10 & 7yo) here last night and we weren’t disappointed. At $34.95 for adults and $24.95 each for the children it makes it an expensive dinner option for families. After some searching online though I found a 20% if the total bill discount voucher which made me feel a little better about handing over so much money. These vouchers can also appears in the tourist mags you see in hotels at the Gold Coast so keep an eye out. We chose to go on a Thursday night as Fri - Sun just would’ve been too expensive for us. It does become a seafood buffet those nights but I just couldn’t justify the jump in price to $65 for adults and $32 I think it was for children. I couldn’t complain about the food we had. There was a large variety and it was constantly being attended to by the staff. The dessert bar was great and the price includes soft drinks and a self serve coffee/Tea/hot chocolate machine. Despite Thursday night not being a seafood buffet night, there were plenty of enormous prawns on offer that were delicious. There were plenty of staff whisking away dirty plates and buzzing around but they didn’t get in the way and seemed pleasant. My only complaint if I could make one is that there are no toilets in this large restaurant which I find really odd. So if you have young children, you all have to leave the restaurant and walk right out into the casino foyer past other restaurants to get to the toilet and back again. About a 10min round trip. Crazy! Otherwise I have no complaints.

This place is horrible. We went thinking this was a seafood buffet which it is advertised and it only had prawns and they were so average. The staff were honestly the rudest people I have encountered and the food produce was disgusting. I had 3 roast potatoes and they were cold and hard.... I didn’t bother eating any more after I tried some olives and there was something hard inside except it wasn’t a pip???? The cleanliness of the place is a 0/10 honestly putrid. Your paying $100 for 2 people and you get nothing but disgust in return.
Craig2232
It a buffet. Food was consistently good. Drink service was lacking. Good variety of dishes. Prawns were fresh but tasteless. Mussels were great. Typical other dishes were ok. Desserts were good

Best value seafood buffet on the GC as far as I am concerned. Giant prawns and tonnes of them with flavour, not waterlogged. Lots of variety of other foods, Great value and lots of entertainment around afterwards. Bring your stretchy pants!! Parking has been pretty bad lately.
Good Food Good Mood
My mum and I were off to see a show in he Casino and thought we'd tried our luck at the buffet for lunch prior. With a dodgy name like Food Fantasy I wasn't expecting much but I was actually pleasantly surprised. $34.90 pp (seriously why don't they just charge $35??) got you a decent amount of variety and relative quality. The dessert was quite impressive too
Vink
Everything here was yummy in a very basic way, similar to how everything at HJs is yummy but basic, non-gourmet. For instance, they have chicken nuggets, chips, coles roast chicken etc. Paying $50 you'd expect a bit more than that. The desserts were a stand out. The furniture was outdated.

We went to dinner last night at food fantasy & were extremely disappointed, thankfully paid half price for the buffet.

The food wasn't up to standard, the prawns were horrible & tasteless, something I would expect from a supermarket. There was some variety however it felt as if we were at a sizzler. There wasn't much for little kids ( 2 & 4) besides some nuggets & chips.

Wouldn't recommend this place, it has definitely gone downhill in the past few years.

Life's all about the decisions you make. Choosing the buffet breakfast here was a mistake.

No one shows you to a table or offers tea or coffee to start. Just go figure everything out yourself. I literally couldn't locate the water or tea so gave up on those. I finally tracked down the eggs bene. Yikes! Poor things had spent way too much time under the heat lamps so had dried out muffin bases, rock hard yolks & gross sauce. The omelette chef got my order wrong. The weird novelty pancake machine unsurprisingly made a plasticy & very blonde product. And its pretty obvious the apathetic staff weren't loving life.

For $30 a head this is far from good value. Let's get back to service with a smile, enjoyable food & value for money.

Over the 25 years or so we've been coming here on & off, the buffet has progressively declined. Doneskies.

Great selection of hot and cold foods. It's a little expensive so watch out for deals and coupons. The dessert bar makes it worth the visit!

A lovely range of different cuisines. They also do events such as Chinese New Year. This year not only do they serve their yummy buffet foods, they even served up dim sums, extra fancy desserts and even glutenious rice balls.

Definitely one of the best buffet I have had. Seafood buffet on Saturday was fresh, plenty of choices and cooked very well. Definitely worth the wait in the line
Matt Webber
The best buffet i have been to for both dinner and breakfast. Has the fundamentals down and meals mix together. Reasonably priced for the quality of meals you are getting. The food is fresh and well cooked. Self serve drinks and coffee are all in the buffet so no nasty surprises. If you're in Broadbeach and want to take the family to something different i suggest this.

The worst buffet. I have been numerous times and it has Ben greet. I am not a big eater and I like variety and they don't have much vegetarian options. I am not a vegetarian but I don't ear certain types of meat.

I won't return. I was definitely not satisfied leaving this place. It has go down a very big hill.

This buffet was recommended to us by a friend of mine for having a great selection of seafood which it also boasts on it's website. So you can imagine my disappointment when the only seafood on offer were prawns.
The rest of the buffet was good with lots of options. However due to their blatant lie of being "one of the best seafood buffets" when they have basically nothing gets no love or future recommendations from me
Nathan
It was the last lunch before we left Gold Coast. I chose this buffet as we were gonna chill out in the last day so we are not in a rush. I have to say this is a good choice. We have the casino membership card to get 20% discount so that only only $28 each person. There was a variety of food and my favourites are smoked salmon, mushroom pasta, ham, roasted potato and stew drumsticks. If you live in the casino, it's definitely worth a try.

We ate on a Friday night. One of the busiest nights, the Service was exceptional. Before we could look up to see if someone could come and clear out plates, they had cleaned our tables. Extremely professional, friendly and welcoming staff. The food was mind blowing. The buffet was being restocked constantly so we never had to wait for that perfectly cooked Morten Bay Bugs and wonderful Crabs. Truly by far the best seafood buffet on the Gold Coast. Something for everyone. Well done. Will definitely eat there again.

If it wasn't for a live worm wriggling around in one of our deserts, it would've definitely been a 4.5+ star rating.

We came here last night and at the beginning the restaurant was already full, so we had to wait in line to get a table. No worries there as we expected it to be full anyway.

Food was varied, and it was delicious. When something ran out, the chefs always almost immediately brought out a new platter of food.

There was also unlimited soft drinks, tea and coffee for patrons throughout the evening.

Everything was going so well until desert, where we found a live wriggling worm in our desert! The guy waiter (he looked young) came over and took the plate and almost IMMEDIATELY threw the desert with the worm into the bin, if it wasn't for another girl waitress who immediately stopped him and she took it to the chef. Chef came out and apologised and told us that it was very unusual to have that there (no shit sherlock)! So one of us got our money back, but that really grossed us out. It was kinda lucky that it was near the end of the meal as we were really put off by it.

Because it was a Saturday, they tend to have a more seafood options at the buffet, so the price for an adult is $59.90 AUD.

In conclusion: You can make the conclusion up yourself.

We've actually been to Food Fantasy on a previous trip, and remembered it to be a fantastic place to eat. The last trip was a Saturday and they tended to have more food available, this particular trip was on a Monday night.

The benefit of which is - the meal is slightly cheaper at close to $50 per person, there is much less of a wait to get in and there are fewer people inside, making the place easy to navigate.

This is buffet paradise for seafood lovers, but you're more likely to get the kinda seafood you love when they do their seafood specials on the weekends. During the week however you still get a reasonable selection of seafood choices.

Inside is borderline claustrophobic if you happen to catch it on an even semi-busy night. The constant battle of dodging people with platters of food piled high, children with ice creams and serving staff with empty plates would make most health and safety managers nervous.

Despite the fact that the place is popular with children, most likely because of the buffet dessert section and unlimited soft drink - there isn't actually a huge amount of food geared towards kids. They can have some of the meat and ham and possibly pasta, but dishes like mussels, squid and curry may not go down so well with children. They do have a kids section which offers an incredibly adventurous fish and chips, and is adventurous only because the chips are cold and dry and the fish looks like it was probably born on land before it was packaged as crunch cold fish.

Like all buffets, if you catch the food whilst it is still fresh it can be fantastic. Generally most of the food is fresh and regularly topped up. It would be far too difficult to give you a run down on what foods are good, as they may change. What I did try, I generally enjoyed.

The dessert buffet is every child (and sweet toothed adult's) dream selection, from soft serve ice cream available in different flavours which you can top with jelly beans or smarties, to the rounded selection of profiteroles, pavlova, cheesecake, mud cake, jelly, creme brulee, fruit salad ... and that's just what I can remember off the top of my head.

Price wise this is pretty good, when you consider you can have a 3 course meal plus endless tea, coffee, water, juice and soft drinks, $50 actually seems like an absolute bargain and it is.

Don't be intimidated by the Casino foyeur as you enter the building, it looks very flash, but there are a number of eateries inside catering to all manner of people.

Food Fantasy would be on my to do list if you only have kids and are prepared to spoil them just once!

Friday and Saturday seafood buffet is value for money only if you want to eat anything but crab meat. Prawns and Moreton bay bugs were over cooked, salads were average, sushi worse than in sushi chains, desserts looked OK and some of them tasted nice but others not really.
The variety of seafood is poor, and for this fee Id rather have 3 course meal at cafes in Oasis and nearby and don't feel ripped off.

Food fantasy is well known by locals as a go to place for quality buffet food. They usually have a wide selection of food to choose from but the highlights for me would have to be their seafood, lamb shanks, chowders, fancy baked savoury dishes and of course, desserts! The food was so outstanding that I actually ate continuously for 4 hours (except for a 10 minute break) before moving on to the desserts! A must visit if you're on the Coast!

Best all you csn eat on the gold coast. A must to check out. I suggest you dont eat all day so you csn fit all the food they offer you in one simple place :)

A great place for seafood lover with a variety of choices. Prawns. Morton's bay bugs. Spanner crabs. Crabs. Oysters. You name it. Can't go wrong with this place.
Stomach Rumble
The all you can eat is amazing! So many options and the fresh sea food is to die for. You'll definitely eat more then you should and you wont even feel guilty because it's just that good.

good place for hungry people. Only few options were served. Thumbs up for their desserts and fresh prawns. Staffs are really nice and polite.

A table was booked here for a birthday. Turned up on the night and they had us split over two tables so the poor person who's birthday it was had to keep sitting at either table to chat with the guests. I could understand if we had a massive group and no table fit but there were multiple other tables that they could of fit us on (with the manager accidentally slipping that the people sitting there were walk ins who had just sat themselves where they want) - leaving me confused as to why someone who booked a month in advance didn't get a reserved seating on any of those long tables but instead got reserved seating on these two tables? And why when we booked a month in advance did they not mention that we wouldn't all be sitting together?
The managers were rude when questioned and were not apologetic - first manager being a 21 year old female with no obvious training in how to deal with customers because she made the situation worse by advising us that people sitting in the bigger tables hadn't even booked.
Food was meh okay, nothing great and not even a wide selection - you would be better to spend the extra $5 and go to the Sheraton where you get quality food and amazing service. The desserts were the only highlight.
If you are getting this as apart of a package with a show you wouldn't be disappointed but if you were like us and spending over $1000 on dinner and then drinks on top of that to not all be on the same table, to have rude managers and bland food - it was a major disappointment and one place I will never return nor tell anyone to try. $56 a head this place is terrible and in definite need of a make over - you feel like you are in a over priced cafeteria. If you are after quality not quantity then this place isn't for you.
I will add though that our waitress was a lovely lady full of smiles and did her job extremely well.

We have dined at Food Fantasy many times & have always left the restaurant full & pleased with the service & the food. Their Seafood nights are incredible, just make sure you arrive at opening time as it can get very busy on a Saturday night. All of the food is fresh & cooked to perfection. The dessert buffet is by far the best I have ever seen. Even though I am not a seafood lover, my husband is & I was still able to find many non-seafood options available. The staff there are always pleasant & friendly no matter what time of day it is. Definitely the best buffet value for money I have ever been to, soft drinks & tea & coffee are free!! We will return there again & again. I would recommend Food Fantasy to anyone!! Great place!!
Coffee
Great choice, not fantastic.. Dined there 12/3/15, I don't mind paying good money for good food, but $47 a head turned out to be a bit overpriced in relation to the quality.

The range is great, there's plenty on offer so no drama there. Started with a few prawns, which were pretty good - nice and fresh. Had a roast with the usual trimmings - was ok but probably better at your local club, had some Pad Thai - very salty and inedible, tried a chicken dish which wasn't overly appetising.

Did have a perfect ciabatta roll though.

Dessert - 'false advertising' sums it up, everything looked fantastic so I loaded up a plate and a bowl! However the only thing I really enjoyed and finished was a small choc mousse.

The last time I was there (March 2014) was great, so perhaps last night was just an 'off' night, even so I wasn't happy and felt I'd wasted my money.
Aekaminski
Best buffet hands down. I have tried a lot of restaurants including buffet options, so for the record I have dined at buffets including Hilton, Ibis, Stamford, Outrigger, Sea world resort, Movie world buffet, Dreamworld buffet and of course Sizzler and Pizza Hut. I have to say Food Fantasy at Juipters Casino is the best. I have been many, many times over the years for breakfast and for dinner while holidaying on the Gold Coast.
Despite what some reviewers may say the quality of the seafood is excellent, to clarify the prawns are NOT vannamei, they are large and juicy with lots of flavour, oysters are large, fish very fresh. Hot dishes, quality and range are excellent no complaints at all, lots of options even for picky eaters, kids and vegetarians. In particular I enjoyed the stir fried vegetables, tempura fish, curry and rice, and roast veggies. Very fresh salads on the cold side of the Buffett including greens, pasta and potato salad, cheeses, meats and sauces. Lots of chopped and shredded vegetables and salads, toppings, dressings and croutons so you can design your own also. Deserts.... there are just too many to taste them all, hot deserts are beautiful, massive variety including black forrest, slices, cheese cakes, jelly, mouse, fruits, brownies, tarts, pav, self service parlour style ice cream and toppings you serve from the freezer cabinet (not soft serve), which is a nice change. Drinks are as expected post mix soft drinks, tea and coffee. Atmosphere is casual, staff friendly, comfortable seating arrangements, high chairs available with no problems, it does get busy so get in either early or late. In response to the reviewers that have stated that McDonald's was better or the food was cold/dry/tasteless I think they must have been on crack or they work for a competitor as I have never experienced this on any occasion. If your unsure about going I highly recommend it. I have paid a lot more for less else where.

Excellent seafood as always. This is one of my husband's and my favourite restaurant for seafood in Gold Coast.
Have been to Food Fantasy many times for their seafood spectacular (Fri/Sat night). The seafood is always very fresh, especially the spanner crab. I personally dislike spanner crabs as all the ones I've tasted in other buffet restaurants are tasteless (include the very expensive restaurants), but the spanner crabs in Food Fantasy is always so sweet, fresh and meaty!
My favourite are their prawns, oysters and crab (Sometimes they have moreton bay bugs). Even though the price has gone up by quite a bit($57) It's definitely worth it if you are an absolute member of the casino as you can get discounts.

-----06 Nov, 2014-----

Spanner Crabs. Always very sweet and fresh unlike other buffet places
Coldasstone
Pathetic! Stay away. Save your money this place is terrible! For $57 there are plenty of other places I could get a fantastic meal for this price. The amount of people they pack into this place is ridiculous. I don't mind pay a price for a good meal but this is a joke... The seafood is pathetic prawns are tiny, oysters smaller than a thumb nail. The best part was the frozen mussels... Unfortunately had to go for an event will not be returning!
Alisha Whelan
Utterly terrible. Imagine sizzler / Pizza Hut all you can eat. They beat this place. Went for friday night seafood buffet. The small amount of seafood that they do serve is overcooked, oily and with stale oil. No lobster. None. That's not a seafood buffet. There's bugs but totally Inedible cooked and rock hard. Even the sushi tastes stale. The cheeses are those small rounds from Coles in the boxes that cost a few dollars. The dessert was just as disappointing. A major request to ask for the table to be wiped down, as for cutlery or water, go get your own. And certainly no white table cloths. For the privilege you pay $57 each.
This has certainly taught me to always read reviews and research prior to coming.
Bitterly dissapointed.
Paul
Not worth it. Been here b4 it was a lot better 12 months ago not very appealing food and i thought it wasn't a great variety but the saving grace was the desert just not worth it anymore
Just Another Foodie
Just not what it used to be.... I dined here a few years ago and remember the food was great with a variety of selections. Came back here recently and was disappointed. There wasn't much to choose from and the food didn't look appealing. The only seafood was prawns (came on a weeknight). Definitely not worth $47 p/p!
Luke M
Not worth it. Very lacklustre, bland hot mains including shoe leather texture roast beef/pork and boring noodles. The prawns are the cheapest variety vannamei, the pumpkin soup was one-note and too sweet, and the potato bake was rubbery and quite unpleasant. The desert variety was good however the quality was poor. They were mainly too sweet and not moreish in the slightest. I am always disappointed to leave a buffet not completely full. I wouldn't have been so disappointed if it wasn't so expensive, I think the owners of the restaurant should start to make their chefs taste the food before it goes out.

Rude staff attitude. Had lunch on 7th of Feb. I and my friend presented our member card and paid by card. The cashier named "Jayne" swiped our member cards and credit card then she gave our cards back to my friend with quite unpleasant attitude.
After 20seconds or so my friend realized that she hadn't got her member card back. So I went back to the cashier at the entrance and asked her. Her replay was "There isn't your card here" I said " But my friend didn't get her member card back from you" She said very strongly and rudely "I DO NOT HAVE YOUR CARD HERE. I'VE GIVEN BACK TO YOU!!" Even she didn't check around her. So where has the card gone??? Has it disappeared like a magic??
What a rude and inappropriate attitude as a person in hospitality.
I had never seen that kind of person at any other restaurants before and I don't think I want to go back to this place again.
Dorothy Reeves
Las Vegas style buffet. Great place! Plenty of seating inside so don't let the queue fool you. The prawns and crab legs were so fresh. Lots of dishes hot and cold plus all-you-can desserts and drinks..
Its just like a little bit of Vegas on the GC!
SJA16
On holiday here from Melbourne and my girlfriend and I were extremely disappointed in this 'Sizzler' styled restaurant. Ridiculously expensive, the food was well below par of that served at McDonalds. Promising a quality banquet affair, it's clearly evident Food Fantasy abide by the 'quantity over quality' adage. You know you're in trouble when cold garlic bread is your best offering. Do yourself a favour and grab a McChicken meal instead- you'll definitely feel more satisfied
J.B
While it is definitely not a five star restaurant, we had a great meal there.

A step up from Sizzler and worth the $45. There was a decent range of food from salads to lamb shanks as well as desserts. We will definitely be back when we visit Gold Coast again.
Chunky_Luver
I have never been wowed by any of food I have had at Jupiters. I have been to the buffet a couple I times as I receive restaurant vouchers but I would never pay for it as it does not seem worth it. However the shrimp is usually a favourite which should say a lot as throwing shrimp on ice doesn't really qualify as flourishing culinary abilities!
ElyssaBee
For $45 pp, this was not worth it at all. So less variety!! Best food here was prob the pumpkin soup and bread roll!
There was so many desserts but they werent even that great! This place is extremely disappointing for a casino buffet! Never again and will not recommend it!
Kris.C
Good Seafood. Price-6, Service-7, Food-7, Atmosphere-8
Seafood was good. Hot food average. Deserts were not very good
Boags
This place is pretty average, I guess it's a casino after all. It's one of those places you go once, maybe twice, but there is no enticement to go back after that.

Overall, a wonderful night here with the family. Went on a Thursday night and it was filled with young families, a birthday function, tourists (including us), and locals. I thought "hey this has to be better than sizzler which is just down the road" We went on a Thursday night which doesn't include the full seafood buffet which is only available on Friday and Saturday. It cost is 45 bucks a head and kids aged 5-12 eat for half the price . I found it pricey at first however when you look at their huge variety of cuisines, I found myself coming back to try bits of everything. There's your usual roast station, fruit and salad bar and a few Asian dishes With the added cheese platter and HUGE variety of desserts. The only seafood available for the night was prawns, but they tasted so Moreish! Sweet, fresh and not over cooked- definitely my money's worth right there! So after a few savory dishes of pretty much everything , I finally got to the dessert. And oh my goodness was there a lot . Just to name a few there aas baked cheesecake, pavlova, milk an dark choc mousse , profiteroles, choc rum cake, vanilla slice, sticky date ... ... Which complimented well with the icecream and Madura tea. The service was excellent. the young staff were constantly checking for empty plates to make sure the table was all ready for the next round of food. Overall , great place for families as kids get all the dessert they have ever dreamed of , and unlimited soft drinks for them to go nuts!!

Food and service is fantastic! I had the buffet service and the seafood was fresh and a big variety of desserts. The atmosphere did feel quite rushed but the food trays get turned over before they are empty so was unsure why there was a stampede t the buffet area.
Hoang
Excellent food and service. My family been here on last count 5-6 times for the seafood buffet. We only ever been on satursay night and each time we're there the food was always fresh and the service was top notch. Get there early if you want to get in as they can be quite full.
Nettie
Family favourite. This is a family favourite. The seafood buffet is the best. It's a great family-orientated restaurant so great for the kids. Our son isn't a seafood fan but there's always a good selection of meat/chicken dishes he can choose from. The only downside (apart from the over indulging) would be the waiting time but once you're in there it's all worth it.
Let's Eat
Highly recommended seafood buffet!. Recommended for all you seafood lovers out there. Fresh prawns, Morton bay bugs, crab, OYSTERS, smoked salmon, squid and more oysters!

The dessert bar is well presented but be sure to save room for it! Unfortunately you can't make bookings so you will have to line up and wait for a table. The line moves quick enough that it's not too much of an issue.

Food Fantasy - Broadbeach, Queensland. One of several choices in the Broadbeach Conrad Jupiters Casino Hotel, Food Fantasy is a family-oriented buffet. Located on the bottom level among the other options,it is a lot less ecksy than other buffets around the place, and was is often apparently very packed - it was when I went here and there was a fair line-up outside the restaurant. Whatever the appeal is is beyond me.

It is to be expected that the location is lavish, being a Conrad Jupiters hotel and all. There is a generous amount of space reserved for the restaurant with that amount of space not being very cramped and the different bars being spaced apart well (it may vary with the foot traffic - the lack of organisation might result in near-collision). Where I sat I got a good look at the pool, which was spectacular - but that is another discussion.

Being an all-you-can eat, the service here is minimal in quantity; however, the staff there were well-organised in leading people to their tables and taking away used crockery.

Any diner here is spoilt for choice when it comes to options, however quality always wins over quantity. I managed to try crumbed fish, potato bake, a chicken dish, some roast pork (and a bit of roast beef), roast potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, gravy, blue cheese and ice cream (not all at once of course).
The crumbed fish was basically like something from the freezer section of the supermarket - nothing remarkable. The potatoes in the potato bake were stil hard. I could not quite put my finger on the chicken - the flavour was not too bad but something was awry with the texture. The cuts of pork and beef were grisly and the Yorkshire pudding was soft and limp - it needs to be a bread-roll texture. The potatoes were not too bad and the gravy was standard carvery stuff.
What was good was the blue cheese and the ice cream.
I had ice cream with most of the toppings - Smarties, jelly beans, jelly babies, chocolate sprinkles and caramel sauce. To my surprise there was a fruity flavour in the jelly beans and babies. All up, these tasted as you would expect them to taste.

One aspect that most observe is the long dessert bar - I did not get that far. They might have been good, but what can you do?

This place seemed not that much different to most chain-like buffets. The food was unremarkable and highlights the aspect of quality not quantity. I will not go here again.

Highly Recommended. Definately the best buffet around! we went there for easter lunch (only $30 adults $15 kids) and it was amazing. The desserts were incredible, and all the food was really tasty. There was nothing we didnt like. This buffet was better than the one we went to at the jupiters for xmas which cost around $500-600 a family!

Best buffet. For $50 at dinner, I thought this was decently priced considering the quality and range of food. I have never been to a buffet that has excelled in all areas, seafood, roast, assortment of other dishes and the desserts.

I don't recall how many plates of the sweet prawns we ate. The prawns were delicious. The moreton bay bugs were mostly nice however the mussels were a little disappointing.

The roast meats, were tasty, I only tried the ham, but I was informed by my companions that the beef was lovely and tender.

The desserts were very impressive. Every dessert we tried was fantastic. The desserts themselves could be sold in their own dessert store. The chocolate pudding, pavlova, vanilla slice and assorted little cakes were delicious.

This buffet is worth the money.

Love this buffet! The food is amazingly good quality for an all-you-can eat. The salad bar is full of options. Nice and roomy so you're not rubbing shoulders with a hundred others like at RSL buffets. The food is replenished often so it's hot and fresh. Pay the extra for cocktails here as they are worth it. I definately get my money's worth when I visit here.

This would have to be one of the best buffet's around.

Awesome buffet dinner!. We frequently visit Food Fantasy rather than Sizzler.
Quality of the food is second-to-none, the chef's are hard at it all the time to ensure that all the food is as fresh as it can get and when you go for the seafood buffet - well what a treat that is!
The dessert bar is awesome - I love their desserts.

Pricey but good. We went on a Friday night and the buffet cost $50 because it included seafood, which I don't even eat! I wish there was some option for dining without the seafood to keep the price down.

Everything at the buffet was actually really good though (it wasn't dried out or like it had been sitting there for long) and even though there is obviously quantity with each dish, it didn't feel like it was quantity over quality. Everything I had was really yummy and they cleverly have options that you can almost "plate up" like a restaurant meal (ie. grilled chicken breasts in sauce, steaks in sauce etc).

I am a desserts girl so I loooooooved this buffet. They had sooo many options and all of them were really delicious. The vanilla slice (millefuelle) is one of my favourites and was bakery quality! Chocolate mousse was good, profitteroles, mini pavlovas, warm chocolate pudding and chocolate tart - all delicous.

There is plenty of seating and the staff were all friendly. Plenty of drink options too. The best buffet i've been too, even though it was really pricey.

I don't think my previous blog about Food Fantasy actually shows you the wide selection of food they offered so I feel like I have to write another one. This should give you some sort of idea: Soups Pumpkin Soup Chicken and Mushroom Soup Oriental Chicken Soup Entrees Cold meats platter Fruits and vegatables Condiments and sauces Olives and sweet mini corn Salads Vegetable Salad Sweet potato Salad Potato and seeded mustard Salad Seafood Extender Salad Mains Tempura fish Potato Bake Steamed Vegetables Fried Rice Singapore Noodles Beef Medallions and Field Mushrooms Chicken with honey mustard sauce Pasta Bolognaise Turkish Bread Thai Beef Curry Roast and gravy Chicken nuggets Chips Desserts Chocolate Mousse Baked New York Cheesecake Butterscotch Creme Brulee Chocolate Rum Cake Blueberry Upside Down Cake Apple Crumble Jaffa Cheesecake Assorted Jelly Coconut Cherry Slice Apple and Cinammon Loaf Bread and Butter Pudding Chocolate Pudding Custard Passionfruit Coulis Raspberry Coulis Swiss Walnut Tart Mud Cake Pavlova Vanilla Slice Muffins and assorted pastries Cheeses Swiss Cheese Blue Cheese Spiced Gouda Camembert Cheese Tasty Cheese Water Crackers Rice Crackers Grissini Sticks Novelty Pancake Machine Ice cream Machine Warning: This isn't just any old buffet. Be prepared to feel astounded (and bloated). Bring an empty stomach. Basically, you get a 50 course meal for only $30 at lunch, or $47/$57 (seafood) for dinners depending on the day. You can read about my Food Fantasy experience here.

Buffet breakfast at Food Fantasy starts at 6.30am daily to 10am daily. For the health conscious, there is a variety of fresh juices and fruits to cleanse and detox.

I really hate buffets. I hate Sizzlers. The idea of 'all you can eat' scares me. I mentally associate normal buffets with poor quality and lack of freshness. There's a novelty appeal but appeal only takes you so far. Sometimes, when I've accomplished a mi
