Amazing lamb Mandi... must have dish
This spacious cafe in Broadmeadows is such a gem!!
I drove all the way across Melbourne to visit and boy was it worth it! The food was incredible and the service was top notch.
We ordered the beef brisket benny, chilli scramble and the French toast. We also added a couple of sides of their beef rashers upon recommendation from staff and O. M. G. they were the best thing we have ever eaten!! Think bacon but better... much better.
The guys have spent a lot of time perfecting their coffee blend and it shows! I'm not a coffee drinker but my friend said the coffees were amazing.
Nothing to fault. Except maybe that they're not located close enough to me 😂😂.
This isn't a part of Melbourne that I usually frequent, but I may have to reconsider now that I have visited Humble Harry Roasting Co. Situated right next to the train station, this conveniently located cafe is big on space and big on heart. It's a large, open space with heaps of natural light courtesy of walls of windows. With a modern, urban fitout, this place oozes cool in the suburbs, and the fact that they roast their own beans on site is an added bonus.
We were greeted warmly and talked through the menu, which has had a recent update for winter. Starting out with some fabulous coffee, we proceeded to order the French toast and mushroom dish. The food was delivered promptly, and our waiter was on hand to check that everything was OK.
The mushroom dish was delicious, with a nice variety of mushrooms including deep fried enoki which added a fun texture. The toast was delicious and the hummus and greenery added a nice contrast. The egg was poached perfectly, and was just how we like it.
The French toast was outstanding. A new menu addition, the thick brioche toast floated in a sea of caramel, and was topped with poached apples, peanut butter and pistachios. Every single bit of this dish was enjoyed by us, and the peanut butter and caramel was a killer combination.
As a new addition to the Melbourne cafe scene, Humble Harry has definitely got what it takes to keep up with those that have come before them. These guys have a lot of passion for what they do, and it's so easy to see... from the amazing food and coffee to the smiling staff and excellent service; Humble Harry is delivering the goods.
Thank you for hosting us.
Humble Harry has brought the Melbourne brunch scene to Broadmeadows, and it doesn’t disappoint! With an incredibly spacious venue, and an extensive menu - what more could you ask for?!
We started off with a matcha latte and a Turkish coffee. It was my first time trying Turkish coffee and it was a very unique experience. The coffee is unfiltered, so it is a bit ‘powdery’, and it is very strong and robust. The matcha latte was sweet and had a hint of spice to it.
For dishes, we tried the Smoked Shakshuka, Southern Chicken Burger, and French Toast.
The shakshuka was phenomenal! The egg was cooked perfectly and it was still runny despite sitting for a while. It wasn’t too heavy nor too light, and the addition of eggplant and okra was delightful. The sourdough was crispy and the perfect accompaniment.
The fried chicken burger, one of their most popular dishes, was very impressive! The chicken was very crispy and it looked darker than your usual fried chicken, but it tasted delicious. The Vietnamese slaw was a nice addition that gave a bit of a spicy kick too. The sriracha mayo was so good and the fries were absolutely addictive!
The French toast was both stunning in presentation and taste. The toast was super thick and fluffy, and crispy on the outside. It was drenched in a delicious sweet caramel sauce, topped with peanut butter to balance out the sweetness, cool ice cream and poached pears for some freshness. The combination of all the elements worked perfectly!
We also had the banana PB smoothie and the berries smoothie. Both were really good, but I think I preferred the PB smoothie!
Overall, we had an incredible time at Humble Harry. The staff were extremely friendly and the service was pretty fast too. It’s very popular among the locals and I can definitely see why. I would highly recommend checking out this cafe if you’re in the area!
A nice and spacious cafe. We ordered:
- Smoked shakshuka
- Porridge
- Hot cakes
The shakshuka was a great dish, tasted even better especially in this cold weather. The hot cakes was nice and light. And the porridge was good with the mango gel & seasonal fruits on top.
DELICIOUS such a cute place- amazing staff! Would 100% go again and again. The coffee was amazing and the taste of everything was beautiful as
Great food and even better service! The menu is very diverse and the food was sooooo delicious. Highly recommend for a weekend brunch!
Will definitely be coming back for the mushroom toast and the pulled beef benedict ...
Had the pancakes which hit my sweet tooth with a beauty of a dish, partner had mushroom dish, which she loved! Would come back to this joint, friendly staff!
Humble Harry Roasting Co is some of the finest middle eastern flavours in Melbourne has to offer. Located in Broadmeadows, in primarily a Muslim area, HH brings halal food to the local public with such amazing flavours and presentation. HH is must must go for all my Muslim brethren
Humble Harry is right near public transport so perfect location if you’re getting the train or bus. But if you’re driving- park at Broadmeadows Central (across the road). It’s a nice open cafe with some funky booth seats and its also child friendly.
I ordered the smashed avocado and the hotcakes both dishes were very tasty with large portions.
A busy cafe with a nice vibe and really friendly service.
This is a great cafe that serves delicious food with a Mediterranean vibe 🙌🏼
Their staff were very welcoming and weren’t afraid to have a friendly chat!! We really loved the presentation of their dishes and how spacious and comfortable the cafe was 😊
We had the hot cakes, smashed avo and the shakshuka, alongside a cold brew and an almond latte.
Overall, we can’t wait to return for amazing coffee and great hospitality 👌🏼
Only had a matcha latte takeaway but it was so delicious! Love whatever matcha powder they use. Staff were lovely and quick. Would definitely like to try the food next time.

This cafe was worth the one hour drive across the city. The decor felt very modern/industrial which worked with the space. Some lovely natural touches such as the beautiful floral arrangements near the counter! I couldn't get enough of the smashed avo or french toast. The eggs were poached perfectly on my smashed avocado, with little pops of creamy goats curd. The French toast we all shared was amazing, and included beef bacon! You know the service is amazing when you take too long taking photos, dessert melts, and the lovely staff offer to make you a fresh one!
Amazing wild mushrooms with poached egg and nuts and asparagus. The taste was so fresh and clean and so different.
Extremely beautifully presented on the plate. I did not want to ruin it but was so hungry, that i had to dive n straight away and licked the plate clean, lol
The staff is very friendly and nice
Food is slightly pricey but worth to come every now and then to get a different taste.
First time here and wow this place is huge inside with ample seating and quite a few booths too. A mixture of urban industrial, the styling works well in this area and I hope they do well. We only came in for coffees and a snack, the coffees were great with no complaints. The service was quick and friendly when we arrived although getting attention for our second round took a while. Being very new, this establishment is well ordered, very clean but can get a little noisey with nearby tables due to the amount of modern hard finishes. Well worth a tr.
Their Sunnyboy blend in their coffee hopper and their great selection of dishes from warrants return patronage! My partner had the Freekah salad (did I spell that right?) and I decided to have their scrambled eggs with a couple of sides (always test the basics) and it was all delish! Will be back for the Wagyu burger! Huge place with a great vibe and even better service! Great job guys!
Do you love Shnitz chips?? If you do you will LOVE the fries at Humble Roasting & Co. I ordered the Southern Style Chicken Burger with Vietnamese Slaw, and added the beef strips (decent bacon substitute). It was full of flavour and was a huge serve; so much so I couldn't finish it.
This café is so new, signage is yet to be placed out the front. The customer base is eleclectic, being located at Broadmeadows train station. The parking is challenging, but is well worth the effort.
It really is about time the outer north got a place with really good coffee. Thanks lads.
Beautiful food and great service. Had the lychee with sago syrup fruit bowl and the French toast. So glad there’s a nice place to have brunch that’s so close to home. Thanks for opening guys!

What happened? This was my previous review. I just ordered your Brisket Benny and it was dry and crispy like beef jerky, I also ordered the wagyu beef burger, and it was completely dry and burnt. I’m so disappointed. Will definitely never come back. Have a talk to your chef guys
Not good when you pay premium price for your meal.
Extra star for An for trying to resolve the issue, but doesn’t matter how good your service is when your food is inedible.
My Key Three Pointers
* Love, Love, Love
* Super clean, you could eat off the floors.
* What an amazing space, this warehouse design ticks so many design boxes.
As a child I had wonderful memories here, this very location was Melbourne’s best Kebab restaurant. Fast forward and this new Cafe will be creating its own amazing memories for my children and I.
It has an amazing warehouse design, felt really unique and not another typical Scandi design. They have created such a welcoming environment and required in a location like this. If you are not familiar with Broadmeadows train station then this is probably the best thing that happened to Broadmeadows. I simply can’t rave enough.
The food was delicious and tasted as good as it looked, not just an Instagram pleaser. I had the wild mushrooms celeriac purée, asparagus, poached egg and sourdough. Wow wow wow my kind of breakfast, full of flavor and the produce was very fresh. I’m convinced they went mushroom picking that’s how fresh. The smoked shaksuka with eggplant, okra, goats curd baked eggs with sumac, should be the signature dish. The kids also won’t miss out with the ice cream, chocolate ganache pancakes. It is very easy to get food envy, what I witnessed coming from the kitchen all looked mouthwatering.
Coffee was very good and they had a wide selection of other drinks Macha, tumeric, Turkish coffee, mocktails.
The service was friendly an and the food came out prompt. Will 100% be coming back
A large venue with their own coffee roasting area! Opted for the fried chicken burger of course and it was outstanding! This burger is exactly what you want when you order a fried chicken burger, a large juicy piece of chicken with a matching slaw and light tangy sauce, definitely up with the best in Melbourne! Being a cafe, they have a great selection of breakfast and lunch. To finish off the feast, the range of gelato will make sure you take a traveler!
Out the door flying, theirs not too much you can miss a beat on with Humble Harry. The food was delicious, and it was plated perfectly, you could tell they put a lot of thought and effort into each dish. My personal favourite was the chicken burger, which was moist and crunchy. Top effort guys
As a Shakshuka enthusiast, it was very easy to pick what I wanted from the menu.
The goats curd shines through in this dish, it is simply delicious! The Smokey flavour is fantastic, a great take on the Middle Eastern eggs.
I can't wait to come back to this place, I saw the Black Rice & Freekeh coming out of the kitchen and it looked fantastic, so I know what I'll get next time!
Came here on Monday after a weekend trip to Melbourne with a group of friends from Sydney. The food was delicious, i had the South Western Chicken burger and the vietnamese colesaw was to die for! I also had the tea and berry which was also really good. The overall vibes of the cafe was great, the waiters were also very friendly. Will defintely recommend this to my Sydney friends visiting Melbourne.
Some great coffee and food. The blend used for their coffee is quite nice and could be said to have 'butter' and 'caramel' notes. My favorite dish so far is the wild mushrooms, but for a healthy dessert option, the chia pudding is quite nice as well.
Been here a few times now the food is great, service is excellent and the ambience is surprisingly cosy for quite a large cafe, but my favourite has to be the coffee
Really friendly staff, a nice range of people, very welcoming. Great ambience and music. The best thing is its local staff from Broady. Fast service, I ordered the hot cakes with the salted caramel, they were a bit too sweet it definelty needed something to balance out the flavour, but delicious nontheless. Also, coffee is fantastic. I will be back.
Rating: 3.5
I have only tried the coffee (latte) so far but it is delicious.
Staff are friendly, but clearly very busy and still figuring out how to get over that ‘just opened’ concision.
The interiors are gorgeous - an industrial vibe but with a lot of warmth and character.
So glad this place opened - it is sorely needed in the area and sure to be a hit with locals and travellers!
Excellent food, friendly staff. GREAT COFFEE! The ambience is really nice with an industrial theme located at Broadmeadows Station which is quite fitting. Late trading which is a nice addition to an area that lacks choices on a coffee date.
A very much welcomed and needed cafe to the area. Spacious, child friendly and accessible parking. Great menu and coffee with late opening hours for the coffee and gelati. The food and coffee did not disappoint and mostly good service. Being a new place the organisation definitely needs improving however friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommend the wild mushroom dish
