Review Crib Tin Cafe - Broken Hill

Very friendly staff and great coffee and one of a very few cafes open on a Sunday morning. Their cooked brekkys looked delicious and were popular. Indoor seating across two shop fronts and outdoors also.

Awesome food, awesome coffee. Always my favourite place to come for breakfast when I'm in town. I feel like the people leaving bad reviews for this place just like to winge.. never had an issue at this Cafe. Would highly recommend 👌

What a fabulous spot for some coffee and great food - love the crib tins that are used as decorations and are the obvious namesakes for the café.

This place has brilliant coffee, the food is well priced and overall real hearty - one of the best breakfast out, can’t recommend enough

I have never before had the smallest urge to complain about service in my life, but my family had a truly terrible experience here last year. First, we waited about 15-20 minutes for (part of) our order to arrive, and we had to check on it for this to happen. Not itself an issue but there was no apology from the staff. Second and much worse, one of the juices didn't arrive, we again checked on the order, and a young woman finally came over to tell us (in a strangely aggressive tone) that they didn't have the main ingredient for that juice -- again, with no apology. I told her it would have been nice to know this at the time of the order (really I was just responding to her tone and lack of apology - I would normally have had no problem with a mistake like this). She responded that she *had* in fact told us, even though she wasn't the one to take the order! Very strange. We waited another ~10 minutes for the last item we ordered, a piece of banana bread, which arrived burnt and was almost thrown down on the table by the same woman. We asked for a refund for that item only, based on the long time it took. I have no idea what we did to upset the staff and that woman in particular, and one must hope it was only a once off. Her attitude was truly appalling and completely undeserved.

A good little spot to meet your friends for food and a delicious coffee! In looovveeee with the peanut butter cups and the haloumi and sweet potato rosti and their brekky bagels are also delish for an easy takeaway! Highly recommend this Cafe, the staff are friendly and the location is great!

Decent coffee but nowhere near the best in Broken Hill. The watermelon, pineapple and pear juice was fresh and not overly sweet, I really enjoyed it. The food however... I was excited to order Potato Rosti with poached egg and smoked salmon (a favourite). Unfortunately what I got was was undercooked rosti (no crispness and a firm centre) and overcooked eggs. In addition, a third of the plate was smeared with a mystery orange sauce that tasted predominantly of vinegar and the barest hint of pickled jalapeño. It was not tasty, clashed with the flavour of the salmon and overwhelmed the eggs. My husband ordered a breakfast tortilla which he found a little bland. Strangely, the mystery orange sauce was also on his plate. Whilst considerably more complimentary to the meal, it did little to enchanted the flavours. I would consider going back for another juice but would be unlikely to order any food.
