Came here for a birthday on a Saturday night and it did not disappoint!
Tucked away on the quieter side of Lygon st the restaurant is loud and buzzing with energy.
Every time a birthday cake came out a song blared over the speakers prompting every to clap and chant :) a lot of fun!
Starting off with the drinks. The cocktails were well made and even the mocktail we ordered was quite nice. My fav was the Beirut sour and as a after dinner cocktail I went with the nutty espresso martini. Went well after the platter of meats.
In terms of food I found every to be delicious. The egg plant chips were incredible, the mince lamb, small chick wings, mince meat rice was amazing.
The only dish I wasn’t keen on was the chicken skewers . Lacked flavor especially compared to the rest.
Even though the service was friendly it was not attentive at all unless we flagged them down which happened the entire night. Other than that definitely a place I would come again in a group :)
My partner and I got the mega banquet at $60/head. So much food and it was all the such high quality. The dips were amazing and generous portion, we used them for our meats as well, and even came with enough bread ! The meats and mezze were all sooo tasty! Meat cigars and the potatoes were my favourites along with the lamb fillet skewers! They could have slowed down on bringing out the Mezze as we were quite overwhelmed with all the food. Highly recommend this place !
We celebrated our daughter's Christening at Mama Manoush with a group of 25 friends and family. The food was superb and the service even better. Would highly recommend. The cocktails are great too :)
I’ve come here a couple of times and have never been disappointed. Great service and food!
Great food, great service. Best Long Islands ever, finally bar men who know how to make a drink! Food is very tasty. The cheese sambousik and dips were my favourite!
Walked in on a Saturday lunch time and promptly greeted and seated by a friendly host . Large airy dining space serving very tasty , fresh Lebanese food . Great menu for sharing with the hummus and kibbe being the standout dishes. Great to have as a local place, highly recommended and will return.
Amazing service, amazing food!
Ambience , YES! Divine food , YES! Friendly service , YES! Came for an early dinner on Friday night had $45 banquet and couldn’t fault a thing, fresh and flavoursome with happy hour drinks 5-7pm! Does life get better than that, not in my opinion!! Would highly recommend and will certainly return !
Love Mama Manoush! Always accommodating and always great quality, flavour packed, Lebanese food. A regular favourite of ours. If it’s your first visit, get the banquet, see what’s your favourite.
Food was so good! Good sized portions and easy to order a few things and share. Staff were lovely. Would recommend getting there early or making a booking, as they fill up super quick! Would go back for sure.

The venue was familiar, though something else was here. I recall going to a party featuring pisco sours here, and it was Mexican back then I think. These days it's a restaurant with a bar feel, Mama Manoush serves Lebanese across the restaurant and indoor garden/garden room...
Great service! Got the vegetarian platter for 2. At first glance didnt think it was much but by the end of it, couldnt finish it all! Was amazing. Great hummus dip, dolmades, beans, tabouli and falafels!
I attended a function a Mama Manoush today. The food was DELICIOUS. I had 2 servings of everything on offer. So much flavour in every dish. The staff was very polite and accommodating. The restaurant manger was fantastic. Well done guys. We will be back.
Delicious Lebanese food. A nice place to get a taste of home. The decor is very beautiful and inviting and the staff are very friendly. Totally recommend it.
Best Lebanese restaurant In melbourne. Highly recommend it!!!!!
We ordered the banquet. I can tell you every single dish was amazing. The food is traditional and the servings are generous.
The drinks menu contains a wide range of wine, cocktails, beer Etc.
Have heard so many things about this place and it did not disappoint! Staff and service was excellent and food was just like you would find in Lebanon, such a gem of a spot. We got the banquet for two, and it was more than enough. Sad I was too full to order the Nutella baklava’s
Unbeatable Middle Eastern cuisine, that leaves you completely satisfied. Staff are all wonderfully friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.
Great service, food and drinks were brought out very quick! Everything we ordered tasted great, the kibbi nayi was a little bland but it was my first time eating this dish so im not sure if that is how it is supposed to taste, the cocktail i had was also very yummy and the kanafeh was to die for! No complaints, definately recommend this place, even the venue is amazing!
I’ve heard so much wonderful things about this place, and needed to try it out. The food was amazing, and really enjoyed it. I was expecting the the place to look more traditional, but it still looks nice and clean. We had a banquet, food just kept coming out which was nice ( bit too fast) but my only bad thing was that dessert didn’t sit well with me, I would have enjoyed a piece of something sweet like baklava. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Over all would definitely go back to try some other pieces, can’t wait. Keep up the good work guys 👍🏻
Food is great, staff super friendly and I was there for my birthday so when the cake came out, the music starts playing & all the staff stop and clap singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY....Sooooo cool!

Came here for a group dinner with family... it was a lovely place with decent food. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to my child with special needs. My critique maybe a bit harsh because I’m middle eastern and have high standards when it comes to middle eastern food. The mezze was delicious, we ordered the cheese cigars and the fried eggplant which was absolutely delicious. We ordered two meat platters and they were average. The chicken was yummy but that’s about it. We didn’t like the rice, a bit under cooked and not that much flavour. Other then that everything else was great.
This Place is outstanding!! I honestly couldn't fault a thing, the food tasted superb fresh and tasty with IMAC presentation also coming out quickly:) So much variety to choose from we had the banquet so we tried a variety of dips 5 mezzas meat and kafta sewers and desert at the end. We were a table of six coming from six different cultures and loved it, the wingettees were our favourite if we had to choose ;) Keep up the good work guys!!! I will definitely be back !!! very soon too ;)
Loved everything about Mama Manoush!
As soon as you walk through the front doors you know you’ve made the right choice.
Perfect atmosphere with welcoming staff... and the smells just hit you right away. I was so impressed visually.
The food didn’t disappoint. We had the banquet and I enjoyed that we selected the items ourselves rather than having it be fixed/non flexible.
There was plenty of food.... you will not leave hungry.
Everything was delicious and the service was brilliant all night.
I need to go back on an empty stomach and get stuck into the amazing dessert options they had on offer!!!
I will be back... many times I hope!
The biggest standout was the staff, so incredibly friendly, and very helpful with menu choices! But the food was also delicious, and we ordered a lot of different dishes to share between 4. Standouts were the fried chicken wings, the cheese cigar sticks, the wonderfully smoky baba ganoush dip with pickled veggies, and the lamb skewer. But I don’t think you can go wrong with anything. Unfortunately we were too full for dessert! I also loved the urban vibe of the restaurant.
Mama Manoush a Lebanese restaurant in Brunswick East, occupying the site formerly home to modern Mexican restaurant Lady Carolina. It’s owned by Elizabeth Kairouz, who used to run Mama Manoush in a smaller premises on Nicholson Street in Fitzroy up until last year.
There is a lot to like about Mama Manoush
The service was welcoming, friendly and attentive throughout the evening.
We arrived just after work and the place had been open for a short time so was quiet but by the time we left a few hours later is was bustling .
We shared a ranged of things off the menu - a mix of dips, egg plant chips, falafel, shish tawook and the shanglish salad. We finished the meal with baclava fingers which were not overly sweet making them a perfect end to the meal.
Most things were very tasty .. particularly the egg plant chips but the salad was very heavy with vinegar. That said, everything was prepared with care and tasted fresh.
Overall a very pleasant evening.
Food 3.5*
Service 4.0*
Ambience 4.0*
Came here early Sat night with interstate guests for birthday celebrations.
Were not disappointed .
The food was excellent not your usual Lebanese .
We had mostly vegetarian.
Absolutely loved the cocktails.
The barman knew how to make traditional cocktails and we really appreciated that.
Although it got really busy the staff were really attentive and friendly.
Well done everyone.
Will definitely recommend you.
Fun,bright and energetic decor.
Lamb spring roll and falafel were delicious to start off as well as all the Morrish dips.
Grill chicken, and lamb kofta were tender and juicy. Tabouli and the almond rice pilaf were good but need a little extra seasoning.
Only lost point from me with a miss understanding with our order but was made right with fantastic service.
Third time back here and enjoyed it just as much as the first time.
Highlights- must try the backlava and the backlava ice cream! I usually don't like backlava as I've tried ones that are too sweet for my liking, but mamas backlava is the right amount of sweetness. Pair with Lebanese coffee and it tastes even better.
The food is amazing. The platter for two is definitely a good deal for $70. We ended up having to take away the food because we had so much! Also a must try is the kibbi lamb tartare, it's different but it's so delicious!
Adam looked after us all night and always came back to ask if we were okay. Great service here with very friendly and approachable staff.
Very good service, attentive staff, good quality food, vibrant atmosphere and not easy getting a last minute booking. If you like Lebanese food, Recommended
This place was absolutely one of my favorites. The food was amazing and we didn't feel like we had to wait very long. Our food just kept coming out in perfect timing. The ambience was very lovely and staff were also great and friendly too.
Lovely space, friendly staff and great service! Came on a Wednesday night and place was pumping but didnt have to wait long for food. Ordered the plate for 2 but shared amongst 3 girls and it fed us perfectly. We saved some space for dessert and got the knafeh and was told it would take about 15 mins or so and it was well worth the wait! I’ll definitely be back to try more food.
After stalking their social media for a long time, my boyfriend and I finally came here last night and were not disappointed! We ordered the banquet which is so cheap compared to the amount of food you get! Definitely felt like I ate so much food at my Teta’s 😂All the staff were so so lovely too. Definitely will be back with the whole family
Let me start by saying WOW! Being Lebanese, it’s really hard to find a Lebanese restaurant in Melbourne that serves delicious or authentic food like we’d have at home. I actually couldn’t fault anything last night.
There was 3 of us at dinner last night, and while I think we ordered way way way too much I just had to try it all and honestly, everything tasted just as it should...(if not better). Compliments to the chef!
The atmosphere is great and all the staff are professional
and friendly.
I can’t wait to come back - I literally messaged all my cousins and we will be in for dinner soon :)
Being Middle Eastern myself I definitely walked in with my critic hat on. I soon took my hat off after tasting the Dishes! It honestly tasted like home. I was worried that adding the modern twist could ruin the traditional side of our food but that was not the case!. If anything it made the food even better. I’ve been back to this place at least 4 times as a guest not a Foodie Collaboration and love it. I love the layout of the whole place especially the garden side. Well done guys!.
When the kids fight over who gets the last bit of cauliflower, you know you’re on to something good. All the dishes we tried were packed with flavour and generous in size. I liked that the staff gave us a heads up on the size of the desserts so we only needed to order 3 between 5 of us. Good feasting.
A little expensive for what it is, but delicious food nonetheless. Friendly waitstaff, a great vibe. Very busy but still felt intimate and nice. The food was tasty and plentiful and the wine list extensive. Great to see the owners working hard in the kitchen - a real family vibe which is lovely.
Wonderful space. Awesome vibe. Great celebrate spot (especially for birthday)
Took girlfriend of mine for her birthday celebration and we had a great time. Great food selection. The meat are all cooked really well. Generous serving.
I love that they do birthday celebration song when they bring out dessert. Will be back taking someone else for their birthday
Came to mama Manoush for my mum's birthday dinner which I had to make a booking prior as this place can quickly get booked out. I must say I really liked the atmosphere and the ambient created by the quirky decorations and Instagram worthy backgrounds plus the lighting was good as most places can be pretty dark where you can barely see what you're eating. We decided to order from the Mezza section to begin with as we were really hungry. We ordered the cheese cigar sticks, fried cauliflower and chicken wingettes. The cauliflowers could have been more seasoned, the cigar sticks were just ok and the chicken wings had a really nice tangy dressing which was different to what you'd normally expect from wings.
For main we ordered the meat lover's platter for 2 but honestly it would've been enough to feed four if you start with the little starters. In the platter the spices rice was very fragrant but probably not for everyone. We got some more of the cooked boned chicken and the chicken meat skewers was the best flavoured one.
Overall I'd give it 3.5 out of 5 since I think flavourwise it could've been better and menu was very limited to what you could order especially where dessert is concerned.
The venue is really impressive here, nice decor and good service. For entree we had the Kibkabet and Cheese cigar sticks, they were both delicious! We also ordered the meat lovers platter which was tasty. This was too much food for 2, but luckily they allow take away so we were happy to have leftovers for lunch! I was super excited for the kanafeh as it is one of my all time favourite desserts however it was underwhelming, I think it was the vermicelli which gave it a bad texture and it wasn’t sweetened enough. Overall a good experience and I would come back.
Consistently super yummy and fresh food that is really fairly priced. My favorites are all the mezzes. Great atmosphere and friendly staff as well.
Lebanese at its best reinvented as a modern trendy place to eat. If your hungry and can’t decide I’d highly recommend the banquet at $50 pp. it certainly gave us an excellent tasting of the menu and left us satisfied and full. Service was great and there is a good range of wines and cocktails to choose from. Highly recommend for a good night out.
Toward the back of Mama Manoush is Mama’s Garden, which aims to be a more casual beer-garden type of area.
Venue - It’s open, spacious, and nicely designed with plenty of sharing tables and plant décor around the place.
A really nice touch is the overhead heating which is great in the colder months.
Drinks - The comfortable and warm ambience is perfect for a drinking session.
There is a good selection of drinks to choose from – cocktails, wines, spirits, beers (both bottled and on tap).
I had the Agave Sunset cocktail, which had a good balance of sweetness and a kick of tequila.
The Hemera Shiraz was also a delicious full bodied, deep red wine – very smooth with a hints of oak and cherry.
They also offer $13 beer jugs with shawarmas.
Food – I had both the lamb and chicken shawarma. Both came in a thin lightly grilled flatbread with standard fillings like iceberg lettuce, tomato, onion and purple cabbage and a creamy yoghurt sauce.
The lamb was shaved thinly so you got a good crust from the grill, and the taste was also quite “lamby”, with a good marinade on it.
The chicken was also shaved into small chunks and was still pretty juicy.
As it was, the shawarmas were delicious but personally I would have liked a bit of pickle or acidity to cut through some of the richness and balance it out.
I didn’t get to see the menu, but you can also add extra if you wish – jalepenos, tabbouli, etc.
One of the heros was the halloumi fries - battered in panko these were so crispy, and the cheese wasn't too salty at all, seriously good!
Finished off with baklava ice cream, which was 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream dusted with pistachio and crumbled backlava. Awesome flavours.
I’d like to thank the team at Mama Manoush / Garden for inviting me and hosting the night. Really friendly people and is a reflection of the warm hospitality of the Lebanese!
Our group had the banquet, the food was delicious, particularly enjoyed the beef and chicken skewers (the meat on both was very tender and cooked to perfection). The staff we very patient and accommodating to our large group. Will definitely be returning
Delicious food and excellent service. Been there several times and booked a function for our son 30th birthday. They were very accommodating. Thank you Anthony, chef Elzabeth and the rest of the team who worked hard to make it a memorable day for Sami and his friends. Wish you all the best.
Pros: Food is great, especially the meat! The meat is so good, will come back for that for sure. Tried the Lebanese beer for the first time, that was nice! Overall venue presentation is cozy and lovely. Cons: No moscato & no sweet white wine.
Very nice ambience, friendly staff and delicious food. We went for dinner and had a few starters and a platter to share. Liked almost everything, though kebabs were a little bit dry, but still yum. Will definitely go back. The more accurate rate is somewhere around 4.5.
I was so excited to be invited to Mamas Garden and enjoy Lebanese street food. Also great to see another fabulous establishment pop up in the Northern suburbs.
A great relaxed place to catch up with friends and with the big screen tv enjoy the footy with your mates in a laid back environment as well as enjoy a fantastic range of beers, wines and cocktails too.
We started out with the Old Rose cocktail and the Pear Sparkler mocktail...now this was a great start to our lunch.
Followed by halloumi fries, Zaatar chips with mayo was a great place start to our meal. My favourite was the Halloumi fries the were lightly battered and sooo moorish yum yum yum!
Followed by the lamb shwarma and chicken shwarma they were so delicious.
Followed by the Kanafeh of traditional cheese filled bake pie for dessert it was a fantastic way to end the meal.
Mama Manoush was clearly an impressive venue. We walked in the main door it was simply wowed by the elegant fitout and the strong and enticing formal menu. We were thankfully invited to try out casual alternative by the same restaurant out the back in Mama’s Garden. The garden had its own style and was completely covered over and protected from the elements. The relaxed style lends itself for bigger groups and those wanting a simple but tasty bite to eat while watching some sport on the big screen. Traditional Lebanese street food
There is plenty of seating with low tables, long tables and a high bench seating.
We ordered mountain goat hightail ale and a
Lychee martini that had a good balance of sweet and zing. The beers came from the food truck while the cocktails were made in the restaurant proper. They did bottles as well and tap beer and jugs were around $18 each.
We had the Lamb wrap, which was a souvalaki style wrap served with a modern twist of cabbage, tomato, lettuce, onion and tahini.
The Chicken wrap had great flavour and was subtly herbed and suitably juicy, perfect with the succulent tahini base. This wrap was the table favorite as that chicken was perhaps a little more tender than the lamb.
The halloumi fries where sensational, the softness of the deep fried centre with the super crunchy outside was a great combination of cheesey goodness and crunch. The Halloumi fries came with a secret sauce for those wishing to dip.
Regular seasoned chips, hot crunchy and fresh.
For desserts we were treated to chocolate baklava and also got to try the Awamet dough balls in a rose water syrup that was just to dye for. There was a little wait on those doughnuts in syrup but well worth it.
Mama’s Garden shouldn’t be compared to the restaurant next door. It’s like a totally different venue with a totally different feel and audience but still an enjoyable dining experience for those wanting something a little more laid back.
Loveeee this place! By far the best middle eastern restaurant I have ever been to. Bags of flavour and it stays true to traditional middle eastern flavours. The meat platter was amazing and left us rolling out of the restaurant
I have been to this place for dinner with my partner twice. Food is really tasty and reasonably priced. Service is good. Atmosphere is quite nice.
Great Vibes, even better food & drinks! Fusion Lebanese food and their new location is great and central to the city and the suburbs! Cigar Sticks to die for
Had a fantastic banquet at Mama Manoush a few months ago. Just love the variety and the food was just really tasty. Great value for money and service is attentive. Been back again recently for takeaway and still happy with the food. Finding parking in the evening during the week is just about the only annoying thing I can think of.
Amazing vibe, friendly staff and it was pumping for a Wednesday night! The batata Harra is a must! Will definitely be back, great value for money and such a beautiful venue.
Had an out of towner with me who was craving middle eastern cuisine. Admittedly Mama Manoush was not our first choice, but because seating was available we decided to throw caution to the wind and try it out.
We shouldn't have worried at all - the place was almost at full capacity. Staff were super friendly and attentive, and there was a lively buzz about the restaurant.
As packed as it was, our food arrived within minutes of ordering - and fresh.
We enjoyed every dish ordered, but were disappointed to find that the batatas were too acidic for our palates. Special mention goes to the lamb kaftas for not tasting "overly meaty".
Definitely on the list to return to!
We had a great feed .. the food was outstanding the young lady that served us was very very friendly .. the hummus dip add jalapeños was delicious 😋.... the chicken and lamb were also outstanding .. we will be back for sure .
Went here for an early dinner on Sunday night and the place was really nice and quiet. Speaking about the food, it's great: you can taste that some plates are homemade (like the dips, the cheese puff pastry and the bulgur balls with pumpkin). I loved everything I tried. The dip platter was such a great idea to start! As dessert we got a custard cake with pistachios and syrup and it was just so delicate and tasty. Service very attentive, fast and professional. They look after you and have a nice chat without being pushy. Keep up the great job guys! 😊
Will come back for:
+ Fried Cauliflower (Arnabeet Miklee)
+ Chicken Wingettes
+ Mixed Dip Sampler Platter
+ Lamb fillet Skewers (Lahem Meshwi)
+ Grilled Chicken Skewers (Swish Tawook)
+ Rice Pillaf (Riz Al Jaj)
+ Fried doughnuts (Mama’s Halwa)
Walked pass this place a couple of weeks ago and the place was packed (we soon found out why). So, we decided to give this a go on a weekend with a group of friends. It’s a very modern large space with a touch of tradition, but even so, you get the feeling that booking is essential.
We ordered a bit of everything to try from the fried cauliflower, chicken wingettes (this was deliciously tangy and moorish), mixed dip sampler (especially love the Hummus, Baba Ghannouj, and the Garlic dip), Lebanese sausages, meat lovers platter (loved most of the selection, but a few components absolutely stood out like the lamb and chicken), the rice pillaf (heavenly combination and a “must try”), the fish fillet, and to finish off the fried donuts with ice cream (delicious and surprisingly light) and the cheese filled baked pie. All the plates were generous portions and well spiced. Prices was above average but reasonable value for what you get.
They seem to be a little bit too insistent on us having to order the banquet (we were asked quite a few times), but we decided against it as we wanted to try what interest us. Probably could lay off on this a bit as we probably spend the same amount but choose dishes we preferred in the end.
We did have a very accommodating and friendly waiter whom took great care to explain the menu to us and really did a fantastic job looking after us. Kudos here.
This is probably one of my favourite Lebanese eateries in this whole area and we will definitely be back.
Having booked for a group of friends, we were all very excited to try the highly recommended Mama Manoush and WOW did it deliver.
Firstly, I would like to comment that I am Lebanese and have been fed great home made Lebanese food my whole life but this certainly gave me ideas to pass on to mum. We ordered the banquet and there was nothing served that was not mouth-watering DELICIOUS. (Have been craving the kibkabet & cigar sticks all week). When in doubt, ORDER DESSERT as the baclava ice cream should not be missed.
The staff were so delightful and extremely considerate of my friend's dietary requirements. I know it can be tricky to alter Lebanese food so I really did appreciate their efforts.
The ambience and feel of this restaurant is great, have already told all my family members to try and can't wait to revisit myself!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Keep up the good work guys!! ..................................................................👌😁
Wow! This place seriously topped it for my friends and I️, the vibe is amazing, the staff are super friendly and being a massive foodie I️ can say food is the best in the industry! I️ cannot fault our visit to Mama and I️ cannot wait to go again!!
Some places deserve a second chance and I’m so glade I gave Mama Manoush this opportunity, to prove that my first experience could have been based on a off night. I went back with 6 girl friends and we had an exceptional time. The food was 10/10 and I could not fault anything we selected. Highly recommend the falafel and chicken skewers and the dips were delicious. The venue is ideal to get together with friends and have great conversation while sharing generous plates of Lebanese food. The atmosphere is energetic and the waitress we had was fantastic. It’s amazing how a smile and welcoming attitude can make the dinning experience so much better. I would like to thank the venue for acknowledging my previous review and making me recognize this was not a true reflection of Mama Manoush. It takes a very good owner to acknowledge critical feedback and make sure customers leave happy. Would I go back....definitely.
Have ordered from Mama Manoush a number of times. Kebabs are delicious and so is the arnabeet miklee. Look forward to visiting the restaurant for a full experience.
Delicious food, great service and a good dining experience. The dips were delicious and the right balance of flavour. The vine leaves were a great appetiser and were moist. The cheese cigars had the perfect blend of crunch and cheesiness to them. The lamb cutlets were cooked to perfection. All in all, we had an enjoyable dinner and we will certainly be back to try more items on the menu.
What a spread! We didn’t plan to eat a lot but the meat platter looked too good! It had a range of skewers, rice, hummus, chips, salad and pita bread.
Location: quieter part of lygon street but still conveniently near the tram line.
Atmosphere: great for big groups and functions
Food: great for sharing and tasty
Price: a bit on the pricier side for Lebanese food.
Large venue, can accommodate large groups. Split into "Mama's Garden" at the back, which had a casual menu.
Lamb and eggplant was excellent, meat falling apart and eggplant soaking up all the juices.
Fatoush was very well made. Roast cauliflower was good. Pumpkin kibbi, needed some sauce luckily had plenty Asians from other dishes.
Mocktails the menu.
Staff were a bit too eager to clear plates. Very nice bathrooms.
Top quality Lebanese food, great service in a boisterous and causal atmosphere. Great for big tables and celebrations. The dips and salads were first class and the lamb skewers and cutlets were just amazing. Sorry no photos; too busy eating!
Best lebanese food in Melbourne! Staff are so friendly, food is amazing, service is fast, music is at a perfect volume! Definitely coming back for some more 😍😍😍
We ate in Mama's Garden, which has a seperate menu. The staff were so helpful and knowledgable regarding our complicated allergies and took us seriously without making a fuss. I'm coeliac and my daughter is allergic to several nuts. The staff went out of their way to ensure our food was safe to eat providing options and substitutes to the menu. 10/10 for customer service. The food was tasty too.
Great atmosphere, but food is okay nothing to rave about. Very limited options for non meat eaters, seriously though falafel is getting tiresome to consume 😒😒😒
Mama, your chicken wingettes are the bees knees. 10/10 for deliciousness! I used to order takeaway food from you when you were on Nicholson st. Now that you have moved digs to Lygon st, are you going to be doing takeaway orders anytime soon?
R and I went here on a Tuesday night and the restaurant was pumping! You know you're in for a treat when the restaurant is booked out on a Tuesday evening. We started with the Mixed Dip Sample Platter (highly recommend). Hard to pick a favourite dip as the were all packed with flavour (but probably the Baba Ganoush if I had to choose one)! We felt spoilt for choice with this menu.
Next up was the Kibbi Pumpkin, followed by the Cigar Sticks filled with cheese and the Arnabeet Miklee (Lightly Fried Cauliflower). The serving sizes were so generous we were worried we had over-ordered, but luckily we were able to take any leftovers home!It was recommended that we ordered 2 skewers each (we should have listened as they were nothing short of AMAZING!). Instead we ordered Samke Hara (fried fish platter) to share. This was a little on the heavy side but still delicious. The tabouleh on top was definitely a winner!
Cocktails: R had the Sandy Beach and I had the Lychee Martini. I preferred the Lychee martini.
Dessert: They had me at Baclava ice-cream! Lets just say the plate was clean by the time we had finished. We also ordered the Mouhalabieh (custard-like pudding) because life is too short to only order one dessert. We would have liked to have ordered the Kanafeh (traditoinal cheese filled baked pie) but this takes 15 minutes to make and someone had the table after us so we were being conscious of time.
R and I were super impressed and both planned to come back before even leaving! Ambience was lively, service was attentive and our waiter had a great sense of humour. Thank you for a great night Mama Manoush
Group of 10 of us headed down for dinner and few drinks. The place has amazing vibes and the owners are absolute gentlemen. The food was so fresh, well presented and full of flavour. I was blown away by how good this restaurant is. Also I have to make a special mention to the chips. Freshly made and great seasoning. Can't wait to go back.
Love the decor and atmosphere here! Food came out very promptly and staff were very friendly and efficient. Look forward to coming back and trying something new!
Visited this joint while it was on Nicholson street, and loved the indoor ambience and rustic feel.
First time here we were in a hurry as one of the party was called away to work at the last minute - staff were extremely accommodating to our restricted one hour dining time! Had the vegan platter (although I think it was the vegetarian platter then, but I could be wrong). Falafels were amazing!
Second time was for a friends birthday and opted for the Mama’s Banquet, which was heaps of food for us, and each dish delightful.
Can’t wait to try the Nicholson spot😊
The new location on lygon st has certainly done many favours for this place as it was packed out on a Sunday evening. The vibe was good, loud but not invasive and the staff very very friendly and helpful.
The menu is extensive and we opted to share some of the smaller plates rather than get a large plate which might be where the real showcase comes from as we found the food to be overall enjoyable but not much more. I will say the cheese and spinach sambousek and the pumpkin kibbi were very tasty and the lamb cutlets cooked beautifully. The hommus with the jalapeños, while a very good idea, could have been spicier and the jalapeños taken further.
We opted for a mainly vegetarian friendly meal which was nice but I think their meat would be where their real standout dishes come from as small amount we did get was done very well.
However, I would come back and absolutely cannot fault the service and the speed at which the dishes came out despite the number of people and would certainly recommend it for large parties or a small dinner with friends.
Spectacular. Absolutely quality food, service & design.
The design and lights at this wonderful place were unbelievable. Creative and some might label it as "art". Could barely hear myself talk due to the great and loud atmosphere. Extremely classy.
Service was top notch. Waiter came to present us his ideas of what the premium dishes were. Polite and well mannered.
My friend & I ordered the meat platter for 2. Came out quick and extraordinarily, the food was delicious. Skewers of meat with bread, provided with humus, pwoahhhh!!
My favourite dish would have to be the salad. That was legit, A+.
Westernised middle eastern food, with a killer twist. Verily, will be visiting again and recommendations will be followed up, to others.
Keep up the good work guys! Absolutely amazing, enjoyed the evening thank you for the delicious meat platter for two! Chicken was off it’s head.. dessert was beautiful also. Loved seeing a few mamas in the kitchen. We will be back!!
Amazing atmosphere. Attentive and friendly staff who genuinely want to see you enjoy yourself. Food to die for made in a kitchen full of women!
I need to live in this restaurant so I can eat the food every day. What a great place to get delicious Lebanese food. I booked over the phone but they weren't able to find my booking, but were still able to give me a table despite being very busy. Ordered quite a fair bit for the 2 of us: chicken wingettes, sambousik, kibbi pumpkin, tabouli, shish tawook, kafta, falafel, hummus and rice (not on the menu as a side dish but they were kind enough to sort us out). Everything was absolutely divine, can't pick a favourite dish. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly. The venue itself was pretty cool. As for the price? We ordered all that food and had a cocktail and a beer, and the bill was $130. Pretty damn good if you ask me.
Moral of the story: get your hungry tummy to this place. Stat!
We visited Mama Manoush over the weekend and was really impressed with their new venue. With our middle eastern background it takes a lot to impress us however Mama Manoush sure did. Besides the Koussa not being cooked enough everything else was perfect. The baked potatoes were amazing and the fried chicken was perfectly cooked. Definitely worth a visit!
Amazing new location, same friendly family establishment with same high quality food in trendy new digs. Food still tastes authentic, but kitchen a little overwhelmed. Growing pains I’m sure they will overcome- we weren’t bothered as we have been customers for a while and know this confused delivery is not the norm for these guys. Will remain a favorite
We had a lot of dishes off the menu and all we're good. More of a modern twist on Lebanese cuisine. Enjoyable and reasonably priced. Try the cauliflower & grilled skewers. Stand out dishes....
Amazing place to take a group. Very fresh food and the set menu is great. The staff are lovely and we will going back next time we have an event!
We’re so excited that we won “Mama Manoush” raffle run by @munchingmelbourne and got invited to their grand opening party in East Brunswick. The restaurant was absolutely fantastic and well decorated. The table set up, interior design was classic modern. Loved the wall art to show the Lebanese culture and art.
Absolutely loved dining here. The interior is stunning, the food is delicious and there is a really good vibe. The staff were very friendly and accomodating, we had a friend who was gluten intolerant and another that could not eat onion or capsicum and there were no issues with tailoring the menu for them. Definitely be back
Great food, very good value, first time here the other night, definitely not the last! Definitely try the sambousik, falafels and meat cigars. The meat platter and mixed dips platter were also good, except chicken was a little undercooked. Too bad we didn't have room for dessert! Next time !
Amazing food and service ( best wait staff )!
Highly recommend the $55 banquet, we were full after the entree but the salads, meat and dessert were way too good not to eat!
Mama Manoush has now joined my favs list! The cosy interior, friendly and exceptionally well hosting staff is not the only great thing about this restaurant. The food was fantastic. The dips, cheese cigar and the main dishes were faultless...fresh and good quality. Must try the HOT BREAD.
One of the best Lebanese restaurants in Melbourne. We had most of the sharing platters and a number of mezza dishes plus a bottle of wine. All the dishes were excellent except for the sausages we found these to be too salty. The service too was friendly and attentive. To top it off Very reasonably priced. Certainly we will be back.
Best Lebanese in Melbourne! Food was Devine, the value incredible, very reasonably priced. Atmosphere fun. Great for date night, celebrations or catch up with friends. Will be back!
How l love my middle eastern food with a twist .Beautiful decor and atmosphere staff were very helpful in describing food coffee was excellent keep it up guys 😃
I was anticipating a wow factor during the Mega Banquet at Mama Manoush but it never arrived. My favourite part of the meal, sadly, was probably the smooth hummus and smokey baba Ganoush dips! They were great but having them as highlights... disappointing. I did really enjoy that the portions were VERY generous and the dishes, such as the chicken rice and meat skewers, were very hearty. For what was a $55pp banquet, I honestly don't think the food was worth it despite the quantity. Great to try once, but I won't be rushing back here any time soon!
Cravings satisfied and bucket list ticked off! Amazing customer service (maybe too attentive). They asked us if we were okay like 4x while we were eating... nonetheless we appreciated it. Food was delicious. The meat platter was very flavoursome and tender. I highly recommend the dips and the meat flatter to have a taste of everything! The vine leaves was bit too salty for us but I enjoyed the kafta, it would taste great with pomegranate.
Exactly a week ago, I hopped into an unknown van that brought me to a quieter side of Fitzroy, slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. Said bully A actually behaved himself and ensured I did not make any attempt at jumping off the van in mid traffic. Despite having had a good feast that day, fatigue got the better of me, resulting in a collection of terrible pictures of the night :/
Mama Manoush had been a favorite of my friends of which I had not had a chance to join their experience. As of this weekend gone I can now also say.... absolutely finger licking..
Plentiful.....fresh....great service....highly recommend it..
Pro: attentive service, generous portion sizes (mains come with small dip, salad and chips) good baba ghanoush, homemade pita
Con: food was good but not great, nothing really stood out
Yum. And then some.
Waiting for the next items from the banquet menu to come out is always exciting. I've never tried anything but the banquet as I always want to make sure I taste as much from their menu as possible. There's no dish that's 'eh' - everything is delicious.
Absolutely amazing food! We had the best falafels and stuffed vine leaves we have ever tried in a restaurant... and the dips are a must! We also had some nutella balls, which were a little piece of heaven. The environment is great and staff is very friendly. Is definitely a place to go if you're aftet a delish meal.
Delicious fresh Lebanese food. Falafel and riz al jaj are absolutely amazing. Baklava ice cream is so yummy.
Price point is within mid range and offers good value for money. Too bad out of the 6 red wines on the list, 2 are not available.
Service is friendly and the staffs seem to take their time.
Absolutely delicious Lebanese food with first rate customer service. We had the banquet experience which did not disappoint. While we thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes, the marinated chicken was out of this world. We left happy, full and eager to return.
Great Service, Ambience, spectacular food.
The only thing I would say as a critic would be for the fried Cauliflower dish - may be use smaller florets as it would be more crispy n less bulkier to eat. We ordered the Mixed dip platter, fried Cauliflower, falafel, mixed grill platter. I must say the meat was so juicy n cooked perfect. ☑️☑️
Loved it!! Will come again for some Lebanese food.
I haven't had enough of the menu to give a rating any higher than this, but all I can say is those cheese samousek are to die for - salty, crispy heaven. *Drool*!
Oh thank the Mama Manoush for having my back! Found myself working a surprise (and unwelcome) Saturday Night shift with a definite -1million groove points as was meant to be at Dinner here at eight!
Fortunately the wonderful folks at Mama Manoush not only allowed us to get to Dinner on an earlier time, but also brought us our food in record-splitting fashion to ensure I got to work on time. Service was fantastic and thoughtful the entire night!
The food was delicious, with falafels that are crunchy and fragrant, and hot fresh bread with a myriad of amazing dips!
We'll definitely be back minus my night-ruining night shift blues, to feast and drink up all that wine list. 🐬
What a little gem for any gathering. I've been to this place a number of times. I love the consistency and quality of food. If you're looking for a great feed and variety of middle eastern mezze dishes this place is worth a visit. The owner is lovely and welcoming.
This place is just Devine and as authentic as you would get. The service was excellent and the place is such a beautiful setting. Their home baked bread is to die for.
Great, authentic, Lebanese food. A great place to go with a group and share lots of dishes. Be sure to order the chicken wings - they don't disappoint.
I was a bit weary at first, but when the food touch my lips I couldn't stop eating. Servings are huge and the meat is cooked perfectly. Great experience
Absolutely LOVED this home-feel resteraunt !
From the moment i walked in and smelt the aromas I knew it wouldn't disappoint.
The staff were extremely friendly and were very helpful !
The food was delicious.
Been to this place twice. On both occasions food was great, some of it superb and the portions were generous but the service was flawed. On our first visit the desserts never came and on our second visit tabouli salad came for dessert. We will definitely be back because the food is so good but hopefully someone is reading these reviews and will do something about the poor service.
I'm from the other side and even though I had heard good things about this place, I never made the venture. Until tonight.
This place is amazing. The staff are very friendly and very warm upon arrival. They were busy, but the starters and drinks came out quickly.
We ordered the mega banquet after it was recommended to us from our friends. It was absolutely the right choice. The best way to get a taste of everything and really appreciate the culture.
Will be coming back.
Ate here for dinner with work friends midweek. This is a quaint place close to Melbourne's CBD. The place has a 'homely feel' to it with a beautiful wood-fired oven located towards the front. The staff worked busily in the kitchen and were friendly. We had an assortment of food, Baba Ghanoush and Toum were great with the freshly cooked bread. The rest of the food, grilled meats and vegies tasted good. I can't say anymore about the food because, as did my Lebanese friend, it was not overly great. Perhaps our expectations were high. A definite negative is the restricted parking areas surrounding the restaurant; very frustrating. Not their fault, of course.
I really enjoy eating here, the Classic Victorian decor is like you've stepped inside a plain fairground tent to find this beautifully designed area inside. Great place for dinner midweek with a partner as it wasn't very busy and it has a romantic vibe to it.
The cuisine was traditional and delicious, I love this place and will continue to return. Highly recommend 👍🏻Fitzroy Foodie
Came here on Friday night with a last minute decision . Ordered their degustation menu which allow us to try almost 90% of their menu and that was so satisfying. By the end of the meal, we were so full. The food here is pretty good. I particularly like the chicken skewer , the cheese cigar, the spiced rice and the custard dessert. Will certainly be back to try their special menu.
First time trying Lebanese cuisine. Good food with nice flavours. The vegetables give a refreshing feel. The presentation of the food is very good too. Enjoyed it.
Food is AMAZING! Reviews are true to experience! Service is awesome also, staff are very helpful and ensure that you've had a pleasant experience from entry upon leaving the restaurant! Dishes are filled with flavour! The atmosphere is very relaxed and inviting! My favourite dish would have to be the chicken wings, they are to die for! A must order for all visits
Been to Mama Manoush several times now, with family and with friends. The first time we ordered the banquet, which I would recommend doing so you get a sample of everything. The second time we ordered and shared our favourite small dishes. The chicken wings and kafta skewers are mine. We also like ordering the warm bread and dips to start. The restaurant is large but cosy thanks to the partitioned rooms. It really is a nice atmosphere there. Will definitely return!
Went for dinner last night with friends and the food was amazing. We had the mega banquet and everything was full of flavour. Those chicken wings were to die for. The service was exceptional for an incredibly busy night. This has now become my favourite lebanese restaurant.
The food here is a great example of Lebanese food - delicately flavoured for the perfect amount of tasty. I got the chicken skewers with salad and chips, and my friends got the lamb skewers and tasting plates... Can't recommend anything because it was all delicious! The vibe is also relaxed and casual which is perfect for this style of semi sharing food! Great place to go if you just want good food with good company.
Absolutely love this place. A must go to. Cannot fault anything. Food and service is exceptional.
First time we came here we ordered a pizza, lemon garlic chicken and dips. All three were amazing.
Second time round, we ordered a mini banquet. Everything was just as good, if not better. Do come with an empty stomach as the proportions are quite big.
Love love love this place !!!!! There's honestly not one little thing I can fault !!!! Where do I even start ?? The food OMG Is out of this world, I literally lick my fingers after every single dish (especially chicken wings, they are a MUST try). All staff members are so lovely, they are sooo welcoming and will go out of there way to ensure your experience is one to remember. Thank you to the amazing team at mama Manoush for all my amazing experiences. Will recommend this amazing place to all friends and family.
Ps: if only you could rate more than 5
Stand out meal. Baba ganoush and chicken skewers are 10/10. Will definetly be coming again. Went for Sunday lunch. Nice and chilled and food came out quickly. Absolutely delicious !
My friend recommended this restaurant - went for dinner with a few friends. I havent tried an lebanese restaurant before, so was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious, I enjoyed the dips with pita bread and the riz a jaj. The desserts were great too.
Food came out quick and service was great. Definitely would go back again. Would say most items on the menu were great for sharing, so go in a group to try more dishes. Worked out to be $30 each for 4 people. Not including drinks.
The girls were lovely and had great service. The chicken dishes were delicious and packed with flavour. The chicken was tender and the salad had a tasty dressing. Desserts were just as great and the coffee was perfect
Best middle Eastern food I've had in Melbourne!! Customer service was out of this world!! Would recommend to everyone.
Me and the mrs went here to try something New. We needed up with a feast covering the whole table just because we couldn't decide from the menu. Looking forward to our next visit.
Authentic Lebanese food !! Dishes came out continuously without disappointment tasting amazing. Family owned and such a warm welcoming a must try!!
Ate here last night with the mrs! not only is the food excellent, the staff were all amazing! Some of the best customer service i've ever received in Melbourne. Beautiful looking venue also!! would highly recommend to everyone!
We went for an early dinner here. We had a meat platter between the two of us..it was absolutely delicious. I particularly like the cheese stuffed pastry dish. The baklava ice cream was pretty good. The mahloubiya dessert was ok but wouldn't recommend it. The service was amazing the waiter was helpful and knowledgable.
Good quality, fresh Lebanese food in a sleek, modern setting. Ideal when you want something a bit more date-night appropriate than your typical Sydney rd joint.
We had the mini banquet which included a good variety of grilled meats, bread and dip, and salads. It was enough to leave us full but not overstuffed. Riz al ajaj (chicken and rice dish) was a standout for us.
Lebanese food is life. I can almost guarantee anything you order on the menu will result in a party in your mouth. its just delicious. GARLIC LOVERS PLEASE NOTE: do not leave this restaurant without ordering toum (garlic dip). In my opinion, the greatest dip to ever exist. WHO cares if you smell like garlic breath afterwards. I would breathe in peoples faces with pride. so definitely order that. order the falafel as a side, (comes with 6 pieces) it is the bomb. they make it really good here. FRIENDLY STAFF. i know how much that can ruin an experience but all good in that department. if you want a feast just stop reading this and go.
Ok let’s talk about the food at Mama Manoush. I thought that it was fantastic beginning to end; everything was cooked beautifully using fresh ingredients, and there was more than enough to go around. I thought the dips were especially gorgeous. Unfortunately, once you add in the well-intentioned but spotty service, it does take away a bit from my enjoyment of the meal. It’s not big enough of a deal to stop me from coming back, but consider yourself warned.
Came here last week with the crew and we had a great time. really cosy place with a great vibe.
We loved the chicken skewers and the pricing was great. Nobody went home hungry and my boy is a bog eater! We will be back!
Wow talk about fresh authentic lebanese food soooo beautifully presented. Service is 5 star rating. Highly recommended and cannot wait to return.....
High Quality lebanese food in a modern environment. Came
Here with a group and we were already really happy service was friendly and food was top notch. We will definaltey come
Back
Loved the dips trio with hot bread and the lamb skewer with chips. I found the signature pizza slightly disappointing though....the lemony flavor was a bit over powering. Friendly and attentive table service was definitely a bonus.
Enough love in their food to go further.
Okay, the (alternative) entrance is narrow and uninviting while the other door that is more inviting not being used.
The interior is very badly lit, confusing, awkward, squeeze and unpleasant.
It appears messy, tables, etc.
Could it get any worse .... thank God NO, their saving grace ..... damn good grilled Shish meats and service.
They served their version of Lebanese Chips, should it be on the Menu?
Yes they could work more on those dips, etc. but their grilled Shish meats, especially those Chicken skewers are just marinated and grilled to perfection; plenty of spices, soft, tender and juicy.
Service is super friendly and most pleasant, yeap we can feel the love in this place.
You've got to love what they do, this place has so much more potential, we wish them well.
My favourite place for middle eastern food. Never been disappointed and will return often.
Staff are amazing and go above anf beyond for their customers.
Bonus tip: order the chicken wings!
Delicious food with warm and friendly staff. Came here with a friend a few weeks ago and we both left with full stomachs and smiling faces. Food is delicious and you can tell a lot of care is put into the preparation and presentation. Very well priced and the portion sizing did not disappoint. Will definitely be coming back here again.
I would have to say that this place would have the best staff. They are so friendly and make you feel so welcomed. And the food was great. This will be our new local.
A restaurant with a lot of passion and love. The Mama Manoush team were excited to tell me that their venue will undergo extensive renovations throughout much of the month of January 2016. The existing decor is striking even if a little disjointed (looks like 2 houses joined). It certainly is spacious and inviting.
We enjoyed the amazing chicken skewers with the Mama Manoush special wood fired pizza - vinegar/lemon (not sure which) thyme & surmac, toasted sesame seeds, olive oil on the base topped with fresh tomato, onion, olives, haloumi& fresh rocket. There were some upfront confusion with GF order but this was professionally and promptly resolved. Thanks team Mama Manoush, great experience!
Mama Manoush successfully embraces the concept of candid genuineness. The compact exterior is unsuspecting of the vast spaciousness as you enter. Rustic chairs, brick-layered walls are prompt cues of a family operated eating house. Timings of emerging dishes were almost in synchronization considering the fact that the 5 of us dispersed a comestible display of edibles such as sublimely spiced Cheese and spinach and Sambousik- stuffed inside crusty handcrafted pockets. Bliss. Cheese phyllo pastry cigars rolled in similar pleasing materialities. The Meat Lovers Platter which intermingled a series of succulent chicken and lamb skewers (Lamb lacking some zest) and a house assembled garlic condiment packing a vigorous garlicky punch. Fattoush salad as attractive as the savouring. Assorted dips including tahini (sesame paste) and yogurt sauces further uplifting the relishing eggplant crunchy coated strips - highly recommended. We agreed that the hot potato chips resembled that of a take away fish and chippery and thereby could've adopted some of those herbal tricks and tactics which clearly Mama chef is dexterously very capable of producing. The Woodfired Shawarman pizza again so much forethought into flavoursome combinations however an incompletion with the abundance of minced meat. Picturesque air-filled fresh piping hot bread coordinating the skewered meats nicely. The dolce fare was capital! Plushy Nutella bombs activating my mouth-cave fireworks and the astonishing tenderness of the Nutella pizza challenged my willpower to resist devouring the entire 13 inch pan to myself. Both enticements; harmonious alongside their amiably rich and velvety baklava/pistachio upside down ice cream. Could've evoked a louder Nutella calling but nonetheless the malleable dough foundations were a 10. Service was commemorating, you can essentially sense the love in this family. :)
Food was delicious and the building creates a very cool atmosphere. Bar tender was great, went out of his way to accomodate non-drinking friends. Waitresses were friendly, though one was dressed quite inappropriately for her job. Am going to have to go back so I can try more of the menu
I really enjoyed mama manoush withs friend. Most middle eastern/lebanese in melb are WAY overpriced! Manoush is one of those rare ones where food is very good and prices are average. We enjoyed mezze a lot and the meat wasnt too bad
Step into a beautiful restaurant and be greeted by the friendliest staff you can meet. The drinks selection was vast and tasty. The food was incredible - we ate until we didn't want to move. Highly recommended for any occasion!
I loved my dining experience at Mama Manoush, we ordered the mini banquet. There was nothing mini about it. It started with a selection dips which came with the amazing Pita bread that I have heard so much about. The bread was a highlight, it came out piping hot from the wood fire oven, it was moist and fluffy on the inside, the perfect way to start our meal. After the dips were served we tried an array of tasty mezza dishes, the next thing to come was a delicious lemon chicken wing plate. The best chicken wings I have tried. They were perfectly cooked and tossed in a lemon and coriander sauce, full of punchy flavour. The banquet ended with a salad and grilled meats. The meats were tender and juicy. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking a flavour packed meal that still respects it's traditional Lebanese roots.
Surprisingly quiet for a Friday night. Food and service was lovely. Really enjoyed the freshly baked bread with the mixed dips. Hot meze platter was delicious and very filling, really enjoyed the fried kibbeh. Went overboard by ordering the minced lamb skewers with eggplant chips but wasn't disappointed, although we did struggle to finish it.
On recent visit to Melbourne we dined at Mama Manoush it was excellentreally good value for money and the feast we had was delicious would recommend this dining experience to everyone it was really good.
Beautiful restaurant, beautiful people!. The most amazing and sincere food and service combination I've had in Melbourne. You can tell this food comes from the heart of family. My friends and I will be back - next time to have dessert first so we have enough room left to try! Thanks guys for an amazing night. Please keep up the friendly, genuine service :)
Mama Manoush is a small restaurant on Nicholson Street, away from the usual hustle and bustle of Fitzroy. They have a great range of delicious Lebanese dishes, from dips to mezza to pizza, as well as two banquet options. The service is also very friendly, and the place has the atmosphere of a lovely family-run business. K and I headed to Mama Manoush for our usual Friday night meal out, but was surprised to find only 2 or 3 other groups dining there, considering its great Urbanspoon rating
Another Fabulous Meal at Mama's. My second visit this month to this fantastic restaurant. The food is the real deal - homemade on the premises. There are lots of good vegetarian options, too, and more to come, I'm told. The pita bread is baked while you wait. The dips are outstanding, as is the fattoush, falafel, stuffed vine leaves, cheese pastries and eggplant chips. Don't wait, just go and try it for yourself. Thanks, Georgina, Nancy, and all for sharing your outstanding food and hospitality!
Would absolutely come back. We booked a table for 3 but turned up hoping to squeeze another 2 people on, which I knew was a long shot (particularly as the place was booked out that night) however the lovely staff went out of their way to accomodate us. As we waited 15min for them to move tables around etc to get us seated (which was not an issue at all!) they refused to accept no for an answer to their offer of free desert for our table. We all had heaps of delicious food, wine and coffee and the bill still only just tipped over to $25 a head. We had a great night. I recommend this place highly, if not just for their wonderful staff!
Great food and venue. We visited a week ago on a coupon deal and had a lovely evening. Loved the venue - such character in the building - was it a cooper factory originally? . And all part of our banquet were delish. The bread straight out of the oven was memorable as was the absolutely delish Riz al jaj (rice pillaf with minced lamb).
Best Authentic Lebanese restaurant in Melbourne.. OMG everything was amazing as usual, this is the second time I go there with my friends, everything on the menu tastes authentic and delicious just like my mum's cooking I felt like I am in Lebanon, very friendly and attentive team they made sure everyone on every table is enjoying their time.
Thank you so much Georgina and your beautiful team for our amazing dinner and evening.
Sarwat
Gorgeous Food, Spectacular Service, Lovely Ambiance!. We came as part of a Groupon deal, can't wait to return. Staff were really friendly and efficient. We had the banquet and every course was fabulous. There are plenty of vegetarian options. We absolutely love Lebanese food and have tried many restaurants, this is undoubtedly one of the best.
Best birthday dinner!!. Celebrated my birthday here, and I could not fault anything. Service was so hospitable, they split the bill for our group of 8, and I even recieved a complimentary birthday cocktail! I was very surprised. Everything we ordered tasted incredible, my favourite dishes were the chicken wings and the eggplant chips. All my friends were very satisfied and happy I introduced them to this wonderful restaurant. Will definitely be returning here! Keep up the fantastic work Mama Manoush!
Seriously, this is Melbourne's best eat spot. The service is impeccable, the staff are friendly, fun and they truly care about your eating experience. The food speaks for itself, the flavour combinations are a one off! If you haven't been here you must! And now.
Will become a favourite!. Second time I've been here and love it. One of the times was through a voucher deal and they have done what other eateries have failed in...using it as a tool to give you the opportunity to see how good they are and to ensure they get repeat customers by offering great food and service so you want to come back again and again. I'm so glad this is in my local area. Keep up the awesome job Mama Manoush. This place deserves to be booked solid.
Excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and service. Will be back.
Amazing food that you will keep coming back for.. My husband has been here before and kept telling me about it. He brought home some stuffed vine leaves for me and I instantly loved it. Finally got a chance to try the mini banquet myself tonight, it is easily become one of my fa. MELB eating place, atmosphere is great, the place is charming, the mini banquet is the Golden Choice, it has everything that will indulge your taste buds, everything on that menu iS fantastic and cooked with care. Personal fsv is the puffed up flatbread freshly made, lemon chicken wings and stuffed vine leaves. The grilled chicken is massive serving and surprisingly moist and juicy and full of flavors. Well return, many times.
Having never tried Lebanese food before, I'm glad I had it the first time tonight at Mama Manoush. If it weren't for a great deal on livingsocial, I would never come across it. Everything was soooo good (my bf was not accustomed to sourness but I loved it! Especially the vine leaves filled with rice and the fatoush, and marinated chicken. The skewers were so juicy and the meat just melted in my mouth. Everything was fresh and the service was also five star, they offered to let us takeaway the rice because we were too full to have any of it, even when the voucher stated we couldn't takeaway leftover food. This restaurant really deserves all the good reviews and hope you keep it up!! Would love to go back and recommend to friends.
Love this place!. I've been to quite a few restaurants in the last few months and I have to say this really stands out as one of the best, the food was delicious, everything we had, and the staff were so lovely, you almost felt like you were catching up with family. I loved the atmosphere there, it was just a great place, I wish I could eat there every night! You won't be disappointed!
Absolutely loved it! Food was amazing! Traditional home made Lebanese food!!! The staff were so friendly and welcoming we also had the pleasure of meeting the owner Georgina who took the time to sit and chat with my husband and myself! We will definitely be going back with a bigger group of people!!
Fantastic dinner ... definitely coming back soon. We went with vouchers for four. Offer was for banquet. It was divine. No dumbed down menu - it is straight from their set menu which was nearly double what we paid. We all absolutely enjoyed it. Have to be the best voucher deal we have ever had. When you walk in, the beautiful homely smell envelopes you. Bread and dips - beautiful; falafel - the best; meat sambousik - yummo; marinated chicken wings - bursting with flavour; everything tasty and fresh. Wine as part of the deal was nice. Service was super friendly and was with so much pride. This is a role model for restaurants offering voucher deals. We will definitely be back. Well done and thank you!
Good food. Must have the rice and the fresh pita bread. Great service.
WOW....what a Restaurant!!!!!
From the moment we made our booking of 4 with the host Georgina I could tell that they were really pleased to have us as their guests for the evening.
Warm, friendly, attentive, courteous, hospitable and accommodating without ever being in your face.
The banquet was amazing and I'm of Italian background so I'm not being biased. The 3 others that I attended with were of Lebanese background and even they were impressed.
Wood fire oven pizzas and Lebanese bread brought fresh to your table looking like a football full of hot air because it has just come out of the oven.
Food was plentiful and delicious.
Georgina came not only to our table, but all tables to ensure guests were happy and satisfied.
If you want great food and hosts who take pleasure to satisfy rather than just take your money, well I definitely recommend Mama Manoush.
Good luck and wishing you every success.
We'll be back again and again.
Thanks Georgina
A gem in the often devoid of value and service vicinity of Fitzroy!. The other 2 guests in our booking were 30 minutes late but the staff didn’t seem to mind and happily served us drinks and some lovely spicy lamb topped hummous while we waited. We had the mixed vegetarian starter with additional pickles and olives (so good, homemade by the waitresses mum who I assume is the owner) which was all really tasty, specially the cheese pastries. For main we decided to go with a few mezza - the kibkabet, the chicken wings (OMG, a citrus and garlic flavor explosion), a lovely salad piled high with freshly fried salty halloumi, a chicken shish tawook (with an extra skewer as 3 is standard) and some eggplant chips (a must, lightly crumbed and fried with meltingly soft eggplant in the middle) to share between 4 and we couldn’t finish it, the portions are large and the food is fresh, delicious, unfussy and very good value.
The service is very attentive, we had 2 waitresses and one often came to ask a question just after the other had asked it, but I’d rather have over attentive than under attentive. The place itself is simple and rustically charming with whitewashed brick walls and candlelight.
I’d definitely go back, want to try their pizzas next time and I’m craving the pickles already!
Wow.. Simply amazing!! Expect top rate service and delicious Lebanese food. I would highly recommend trying out their pizzas. This place is perfect for a nice family dinner. I'll definitely be coming back!
Excellent lebanese food and lovely hosts!
AMAZING Cuisine & wonderful service!' The banquet is to die for.. Can't wait to return
AMAZING. This place.... The FOOD....not to mention the service is beyond amazing. I truly cannot find a single fault. I was there last week and was waited on like I was at home and part of their family... I almost didn't want to leave. I'll be back mama Manoush .... With more family and more friends.
Every so often you stumble across a gem like MM. It's been in business for less than 6 months and is already playing to full houses with a minimum 2-3 week lead in on peak nights. You'd do well to get on the phone and book a possie at what is potentially the next Melbourne dining icon. Congrats to you both Georgina and Elizabeth. Keep doing exactly what you're doing - don't change a thing :)
Came across this place as I was driving home from work. Decided that I would take my girlfriend here as she is Lebanese, since the day we came it's become a ritual to come every week. This place dose not only serve amazing customer service, but the food is to die for! Never had nything like the before, everything was so fresh and tasted amazing. For a Lebanese restaurant to also be selling wood fire pizza, hands down they are the best pod fire pizza I've ever had! Recommend this place to everyone, can't wait to come back this week
Went to mama manoush on Friday and I have to say we could not fault it! We had a voucher and high expectations due to other reviews and this place really delivers! Food- flavoursome and unique, cooked perfectly and probably the best stuffed vine leaves I've ever had! And to top it off the owner/manager was very accommodating and friendly, just an overall nice person! Highly recommended and will definitely be back!
Sahtain!. The service here is extra warm and friendly, i like to put it down to me being a swell kinda guy...but the reality is my Mrs always gets along with anyone, anywhere so i guess that mighta helped. Anyway, 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed the banquet here, i was sitting here thinking "righto, all you can eat!...you guys are gonna regret this!" yeah, i was wrong, i was gassed by the time all the dishes were served.
The bread is made fresh, the falafel's were bang on the money, the skewers were tender and succulent, the Fatoush was zesty, fresh and bread managed to stay crispy (many a leb would attest to this being a talent).
The two sisters regularly checked up on us and made sure everything was A OK throughout the night, would definitely hit this place up again.
We arrived early at Mama Manoush last night and had incredible food and such friendly service. We started off with dips and bread and went on to the fish, skewers, pilaff and the best chicken wings I've ever had, we asked for the recipe, but it's a secret, so had fun trying to decipher how we would make them at home, agreed we never could so we will definitely be back! Thank you so much for a delicious meal!
Amazing Food and Service. OMG best Lebanese food ever had a mix of starters and mains but all ingrediably delicious and the service was so good every one was so friendly and knew what that were doing will so be back and will use for up and coming function thank you again
Cannot fault - amazing. My husband and I had dinner at Mamma Manoush last Saturday night. I can't express enough how delicious and fresh the food was. Georgina who greeted us as soon as we walked in was so lovely, she made it feel as though we were walking into her home. Incredibly delicious food and great hospitality. Definitley looking forward to going back soon.
Yummy!. Had the banquet that came with the Scoupon deal. Had to wait a bit for the meat skewers but by that time we were already full.
Loved the entrees especially the lemon chicken and the dips (even got more bread to have all the dip.)
Favorite was the pine nut rice with minced meat and chicken. Best rice iv'e ever had.
Will go again to try some pizza.
The food is to die for. With a variety of Lebanese cuisines,Devine pizzas and yummy Nutella filled balls you simply can't go wrong ! Staff were warm, friendly and made me feel right at home. I will definitely be back and I urge anyone who hasn't tried this place to try it ! You won't be disappointed !
Fantastic!!!. This was the first time we had gone to Mama Manoush and we are excited to go back to experience other dishes on the menu. The cosy interior of the restaurant set the scene for a relaxing evening. We enjoyed the banquet and just loved the food. Every course was delicious, the flavours were amazing and the service was quick..... Thank you to the friendly staff who made our night so enjoyable. I would thoroughly recommend this restauarant.
Yum!. We have been to a few lebanese restaurants in Melbourne and this one tops our list. We had the mini banquet which was big. Definitely the best felafels we have eaten and the marinated chicken was delicious. Service was also friendly and welcoming. We will be back with friends!
Great food and service. Got a deal for the banquet and this place is definitely worth a try. Service was warm, the waitress who greet and serve us was lovely. The starters and entrees were delicious, lovely bread and dips. The chicken rice was really nice but the shredded chicken was dry. Overall great food and great service and definitely would love to try more food.

Fantastic atmosphere, fantastic people and fantastic food!! The hummus with lamb on top, followed by the mixed grill platter is a must. Hands down, best hummus ever! This place is a must!
Highly recommended. Had dinner here tonight the food, service, atmosphere was amazing would recommend this 100% I can see this being a regular place and the host Georgina was great
Great dinner!. Service was excellent. Food was excellent. Looking forward to returning.
Can't wait to return!. Wow! This is truly a hidden treasure. We had the mini banquet (there's nothing mini about it) & a very well made wood fire pizza. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious and it's very reasonably priced. We didn't wait long at all considering they were very busy. It was a great experience and we'll definitely be back.
Love this place!. Was here on Friday night for the Mini Banquet. The taster dishes were fresh, good quality and so delicious! And the mini banquet was more than enough to make you full by the end of it.
Service is great, adding a comfortable, friendly and enjoyable night/ atmosphere.
If you're looking for a large variety of good quality, beautiful Lebanese food and gourmet pizza, I would most definitely recommend Mama Manoush. I know that I will be back here time and time again :)
Highly Recommended 9 Course feast. We dined there on a thursday night, place was medium busy, service was excellent and attentive.
The place was newly renovated, warm and cosy.
The 9 course feast which we purchased as a scoupon voucher was fantastic, we could not fault a single thing.
All the food was really fresh, authentic, delicious and well portioned. Staff were really friendly and welcoming!
We would definitely go back again!
Amazing service!!. Dined in last night after purchasing their scoopon offer for a 9 course "all-you-can-eat" banquet. As soon as we entered we were warmly greeted by staff and shown to our table. Our meals were brought out timely and were cleared promptly as we went, staff always asking how our food was, if we wanted any more of a certain food (bread, sweets) and ensuring we were enjoying ourselves, which indeed we were. The food was delicious and we even met the chef who came out to greet us after we enquired about an ingredient in a meal. Such a great night, will definitely return!
Amazing food! Dined for dinner using a Scoopon Voucher Deal (extremely generous!). We had the banquet. 10 courses of delicious food!
Highlights:
The Woodfired bread (amazing)
Marinated Chicken
Lamb Shish
Lebanese Rice
The staff were so friendly and did everything they could to accomadate us and ensure we were comfortable. Difinetly will be back and recommending this place:))
Waitress Jazelle had fantastic customer service. It was also very nice when we had an enquiry a dish that they brought the owner/chef out to us (who was also very friendly!) to answer our query.
Very happy customers.
Another amazing meal!!! Everything was delicious from pizza to salad to Lebanese banquet!!! Excellent and friendly service! Elizabeth and Georgina are always so welcoming and hospitable!!!
Beautiful authentic Lebanese food accompanied by the most amazing friendly service & cosy open fire. Happy belly! :) Will definitely be back next week!
Really friendly service and great atmosphere. The drinks are excellent and they dont mind doing substitutions. We orderes 2 share platters. The gluten free and the meat lovers. Everything was delicious but the garlic wings where phenomenal (on the meat lovers platter).
The music is a just a little too loud so you might have trouble hearing, or you might just have to raise your voice a little.
Excellent experience. Good job all the staff!
Great location and atmosphere.
I went with my friend and we enjoyed everything.
The staff was very friendly and professional.
We didn’t wait for the table on Friday night ( we didn’t make a booking) and for our dishes.
Everything was delicious. We ordered Hummus and Baba Ghannouj that they served with their bread ( you have to try it because it’s so yummy ) .
Also we ordered falafel, potatoes, cheese sambousik and vegetarian kibbi.
I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommended.
Busy, warm very friendly atmospheric restaurant. Excellent service from attentive and helpful staff. However, it was the food that was the jewel in this evenings crown! Fresh, fresh and fresh delicious, interesting and just perfect. I highly recommend.
Delicious food, great atmosphere really enjoyed it. We ate so much that our stomachs stretched. Must try their Awesome platters 👌😀
Few tips:
1. Book book book
2. If going for the banquet, choose the mega one, don't be cheap, u won't regret it
3. Enjoy...
Love the salads, the baba ghannouj, the rice and the skewers (and everythingelse ;))... great service, quick attention, quick kitchen, everything was fresh and tender... loved, can't wait to come back
Had an amazing experience here tonight! Had a great table with plenty of space for 8, heaps of delicious food and a variety of vegan and vegetarian options. Specifically wanted to mention that not only was it good food and an enjoyable atmosphere, the wait staff went out of there way and were consistent and approachable. Instantly refilled our bread and water when we were low, asked if we needed anything else and were considerate and patient with out big group. We all left smiling and full! Highly recommend, will be back
Great interior and friendly staff. We had the Mama's Banquet ($49pp) and a drink each ($21). Great selection of dishes. Would recommend if you don't want the stress of picking your dishes or if you want a little taste of everything. We waited over 20 min from when our mains were cleared, and prompted the staff for our last course to come out (dessert and tea - minor issue but unfortunate if you are under sitting time constraints).
Loved all the food. Just as I remember when Mama Manoush was in Fitzroy.
