I called into this brewery to grab some takeaways.
They sell growlers and 750ml bottles at the moment which are excellent value. And they still sell slabs and 6 packs.
The service was excellent, genuinely welcoming and friendly.
I ended up buying some rice beer, or rice XPA which was really easy drinking and refreshing.
The New World Order American Stout was tasty. The Powerstance Pilsener was another winner.
But my overall favorite was the Capepricot Imperial Dessert Stout and at 9.2% an absolute pleasure to drink.
This brewery is amazing value, and a must visit! Cheers.
The launch of their new in Nitro Espresso Stoutini at @templebrewing was simply impressive. The stoutini was amazing as it is a great take of your classic martini with a fragrant coffee aroma which balances it really well. The nitro makes it creamy and smooth. Why have a classic when you can have a stoutini
.
Be ready to take off on a journey to taste fruity espresso flavours with a hint of dark chocolate and vanilla. The nitro makes it creamy and smooth which gives it an amazing experience. Why have a classic when you can have a stoutini. Be sure to visit them for everything else but ordinary taste and flavours
We enjoyed a great night to be introduced to their new brews! This trendy brewery really wants to create great tasting beer for everyone to enjoy!
The halloumi chips had to be my favourite food of the night! I dream of them! Then my favourite beer was a stout infused with expresso martini - that was bloody ace! You’re a genius for this!
This place is definitely perfect for groups of mates looking to drink and be merry!
Went for dinner here with few friends. While I’m not a huge beer drinker, I did enjoy the pale ale and the summer ale. We all enjoyed the great food and friendly service. The buffalo wings with the blue cheese sauce is to die for. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended!
We had time to kill so I got my friend to take me to a couple of his favourite microbreweries in the area. First stop was Temple Brewing Company which has a nice open beer garden and a trip to the toilet is complete with views of their microbrewery layout.
The waitress was helpful with the explanation of some of the beers on tap and also gave us a couple beers to sample, I was happy with my bitter and fruity Anytime IPA. Their Bicycle Summer Ale proves to be a favourite with many patrons but I did not sample any. Also did not try any of their food as we had to keep our bellies empty for that night's wedding but it definitely looks promising!
Had dinner with my friends there , because this place is not on the main road , so I guess that’s why restaurant is very quiet ... I don’t like beer so I came because I want to try their food . Surprisingly they serve delicious food although their specialty is beer . The green chilli on taco is quite special & creative. Will go back again .
2020
Open for takeaway and delivery, proving very essential beer. (Free local delivery up to 3km from bar)
$10 happy hour filling of growlers (aka a glass bottle with a lid) or actually filling anytime is good as excellent zero waste beer.
Great food specials available. (Father's Day special Feijoada pack was delicious).

Great venue for a meal or just a drink. A small menu, keeping it simple with good tasty options. Battered broccoli is great snack to have with some beer. Heaters available in the outdoor area to combat the chill.
Heading up to the bathrooms you get to check out the brewing equipment. Nice modern bathrooms.
1L can available for takeaway for any tap beer. $15 for the Okinawa sour, win!
Great food and beer experience!
Let's say it: I love Bicycle! I drink it wherever it's on tap! So I was happy to finally visit the brewery for my birthday.
We visited the brewery first as it was our first time to see how beers are made. We had a great explanation of the process and how they balance the flavour of each beer by the owner (he took the time for us, which was awesome).
After that, I had a set of 5 beers to taste. The set comes with an explanation card of what is what, I obviously started with the light beer and going to the darker.
We also ordered some food to share, I found it amazing how the certain beers would match perfectly with certain dishes (haven't asked if it was done on purpose).
The beer garden is a nice area to chill, it's not too noisy and you still have some space between each table to not feel crowded. A good place to meet with friends.
What a lovely little joint! The restaurant isn't very big but over looks the brewery. We had the famous midnight burger and fried chicken- both were delicious. However, being a brewery, we had higher expectations from the selections of beer. There isn't a large variety and the beers are just ok- but do go for the food.
Great little space for a feed and drink. Love being able to see the brewery from the bar. Had the toasted chicken sanga... Chicken was awesome, hated the bread though! That's personal preference though as I hate the taste of caraway seeds! Beer is fresh and crisp atmosphere is electric and staff are bubbly and happy. Great spot
BELIEVE THEM WHEN THEY RECOMMEND THE BROCCOLI! A+++ will eat again. Tempura + TASTY KOREAN SAUCE. And there are casual seats in the sunshine. Surprisingly hard to find in Brunswick. 👅👅👅
What a great little place. Caught up with a bunch of friends and had a really good night. First time I have ever ordered starters and not bothered with the mains, simply because the starters had me wanting more. Great selection of craft beer and a quick tour of the brewery itself capped off the night. Great value for money as well, six of us with drinks came to $295. You cant go wrong with this place.
Attended Temple last night and was very impressed. Great food, could have eaten just the sliders. Definitely our groups favorite. Fried chicken was really good too. Also did an impromptu brewery tour, which we all enjoyed. Great concept and great to see locals succeeding! Keep up the great work guys.
Better than your average brewery. It's nice that they serve more than your standard pizzas and burgers. Some great share platters to have with friends.
Great little brewery with a cool beer garden. Especially love the excellent view of the brewery. The food we had was all good. The atmosphere is cool but The beer selection is poor. Don't get me wrong, you go to try their beers so I do understand them mainly stocking their own beers. However it is good to have a bit of variety. I didn't particularly like any of their beers ( ipa and stout were the best) so having some more choices would have been good. One of the other beers from a different brewery they had on tap was their best beer. Definitely recommend for a drink and or meal.
Nothing beats driving craft beer right from the brewery. The Anytime pale ale won the world's second biggest beer award last year. But I have to say my favorite odd their dark ale. Food is delicious as hard chef was x rock pool and botanic.
Temple brewery is located in a side street and we came here as a stop on our weekly bike ride.
We sit down in a nice ambience. Alcohol is limitless with many choices of beer but only 3 choices of soft drink.
Layout is good and modern.
I ordered a "Midnight burger" which is a wagyu beef burger with black brioche bun along with pickles, cheese, etc. The taste is absolutely perfect. Service excellent. Very impressed with the burger's flavours and the juiciness of the patty. We also got the chips with tomato relish which was a great side dish. Really enjoyed this meal.
Overall this is an excellent restaurant and not too expensive either.
Have come here many times and will come back again and again
Second time ordered a chicken parmigiana. Absolutely perfect. The chicken cooked to perfection and the cheese, tomato sauce and bacon absolutely complimented the chicken well. The salad and chips on the side gave a good compliment. Perfect!
Bravo, hands down the best burger I've had in the area and that is saying something because there are numerous options in the area. The bicycle beer was a good drop to compliment the tucker. Great little out door area for summer. Will be back.
Wow, attentive staff and great craft beer. The food though is exceptional for what is essentially a pub. Actually it would be exceptional if it was an expensive restaurant. Three of us spent the night grazing on the small dishes, got through 8 for $99. Magnificent! Next time will do the steak and the short rib. The Chef is a master of excellence.
Rock solid brewery brasserie combo. Craft beers brewed on site, gastro pub menu, relaxed garden bar area. Good destination for a late lunch in the sun.
Wow ... We will be back. Micro brewery with restaurant on site. Great range of meals to complement the smorgasbord of beers on offer. The burger was perfect and the charcuterie board was very good. The highlight was the creme brûlée. And to cap it off all beers can be purchased to take home !!
Absolutely Amazing! Came here with a Groupon deal. Had the baked camembert, chicken slider and a steak. All the food was fantastic, and the beer was excellent! Staff were friendly and knew their beer. Place had a very cool feel to it too! Will definitely be back!!
The staff are fantastic here and so is the food and beer. We had a scoopon where we chose a starter and main. We tried the baked cheese, the mussels in stout and the beef spare rib. All of which were delicious ... We would come back and have all of them again! The beers were nice too .. and it was the perfect spot to enjoy it all .. out in the sunshine. There was a great vibe - it was really relaxed, the staff were all really friendly. They even let me charge my phone! We look forward to coming back. Thank you!
Beer excellent. Food and service were also really good. Scoopon deal was great value. Great looking beer garden outside will be awesome in summer.
Service was really good. Some of the food we ordered were really good, some were just average. For a bar, you need to get your chips right! The beer is not bad too and a great garden bar to enjoy the sun!
Great place to hang out and taste some wonderfull beer! Ask for the beer sampler! My favorite was the dark strong one! Get a plate of prosiutto wirh pickled radish! Outdoor seating was wonderfull and dog friendly
Just stopped by here for some pre dinner drinks.
Ordered:
Beer tasting platter. Very good value with 5 different beers, about 100ml each, displayed nicely for my enjoyment. A great way to see what's on offer. My favourite of the bunch was "Hazy Dayz" a great heifer weizen perfect for welcoming the warmer weather.
Ambience:
A great little outdoor seating with some slightly comfortable pallet couches that are good for 30 min or so but not perfect. The staff were really helpful and even offered us a blanket.
Nice local spot with good vibes!
It's a little upsetting to say about about a micro brewery but the food here is better than the beer - great sliders, bacon aioli with the chips and -drools- that fried chicken! I was a little disappointed with the beers, they were tasty enough but somewhat unmemorable. Pro tip: put the bacon aioli inside the midnight burger for a dose of extra awesome.
Great food and beer. The front yard is great for sunny days but the indoors also cosy. Modern without being sterile. Passionate staff and owners. Can't fault them.
Popped in for a quick lunch and it was really good. Love the space and the smell of the yeast is divine. We had a midnight burger (really good), the sliders (colonel wasy pick of the day) and the fried chicken (delish). Short rib was the only let down - was served too cold. Oh and the beer is good. Can't wait for summer and a session in the garden! Definitely worth a visit!
2015: Pretty good. We went last night for Temple's signature "Midnight Burger" - overall it was pretty tasty, but the relish on it was quite sweet and I would probably prefer to go somewhere like Rockwell or Trailer Park again next time I want a burger; it's going to be hard to top those guys. The beer was also good - I tried the pilsner and wheat beer, and partner tried the Rye IPA and stout. Will definitely be back again - but will probably try some other menu items next time, and aim for a sunny day for that awesome beer garden and a few more beverages.
2016: Returned on a sunny afternoon and enjoyed the front courtyard. Bumping my rating up to 4/5 - we tried the whitebait to start, then a little later I had the tacos for dinner and partner had the burger. The tacos were delicious and burger much better than last time I was here- they nailed the pickle/mustard combo well. Structure is also important in a burger and tacos and both the bun & tortilla held up very well. Really impressed with this place.

It has a lovely bright clean outside area which used to be the car park but will be amazing in summer where you can sit and drink while relaxing. When we arrived it was very quiet but slowly got busier as the night progressed. It is nice and open inside and you can see all the silos that they use to make the beers. I had the Cranberry and Hibiscus Lambic, which is a sour beer but still fruity. It was nice to start off with something different. After my lambic i had my Hefeweizen beer, The last few years my palate has changed a lot, i don't tend to drink as much lager as i used to but now tend to stick to ale's and hef's.
Surprisingly amazing burgers!. I was very surprised when this was on our list of "Burger places to try". Seeing as it's a brewery, I didn't think their food was all that good. Well I was mistaken! The midnight burger was ssooo tasty! Such rich flavours and the black bun made it even more appealing. The overall feel of the place is very laid back and casual, as was the service who were also friendly.
The beer? Well, i don't drink it in general, so I can't comment.
So far, this place is in my top 5 burgers of melbourne. Will be a hard one to knock out!
Awesome job guys...can't wait to come back when you've finished the outdoor reno's!
Loved our visit to Temple! Beer is great and the food is amazing, way above our expectations - we had the midnight burger and sliders, favourite beer was the Anytime IPA. Looking forward to next visit!
Food is lovely posh pub style. Beer delicious. Beef tartare was to die for. I would return back for this alone. Popcorn chicken could have done with a dipping sauce. Sliders were delicious! I can appreciate that it is a brewery, but a better selections of wine would be appreciated by the minority who tag along with beer drinkers. Overall great for a catchup with friends any afternoon or evening.
Great place - special brews and delicious food. I was there recently (July 2014) and found this pub and brewery to have a very pleasant ambience and wonderful beer. If i was not driving i would have tried every beer on tap but only managed to try some off my partner's glass.
I was informed that a change of management had taken place with emphasis on beer brewery.
Recommended !!
Good beer, tasty wings, nice vibe.
Great place! Foods fantastic, beer is A+, atmosphere is awesome! Thumbs up!
Amazing staff, went out of their way to ensure that we had a great experience. The popcorn is to die for! An unusual place but it definitely works, highly recommended!!
Lovely little hidden gem just off Lygon St. Staff are nice, menu is great and decently priced especially if you like tapas and sharing plates. Modern candlelit decor with the brewery view behind a glass wall.
I have never had a rib eye steak like this it was like biting thru butter that's how soft it literally is even better than a wagyu steak and that's my favorites steak I'll recommend if ur from interstate just to come and try there steak unbelievable
Delicious food, great service. Staff are lovely and really attentive. Not the best drinks selection if you don't like beer I know it's a beer brewery but some ciders would be nice) ok pricing and quite a nice vibe.
Best burger, yep.. This place has the best tasting burger (deluxe) going around. Hands down. Hands up. In mouth. The beer is delicious and carefully brewed no less than 10 metres away from your satisfied gob. Get the picture?
Beer me. Really you come to a place like this to sample the beer, and yes, it's good. To be honest I've had better, but still good quality beer. The fella serving us was also very friendly and excitable about the beers which really adds to the experience. I'll be back.
Hidden gem. Loving the range of beers brewed in house and the option of tasting wheels to determine your fav. Sit and watch the master at work brewing your beer through a glass wall. Good service and yummy food. Recommend the bratwurst hotdog matched with smoked weizen. Taken a few friends here an they have been impressed... Something different to explore.
Although the decor is a little harsh, the food and beer can't be criticised. Good value, tasty, very hearty fare in sensible portions, and a really interesting mix of brews on offer. Recommended is the vegetable pie (and I'm not a vegetarian) and the smoked weizen beer. Temple gets my vote.
Great beers and cool relaxing place, the cheese platter excellent.
Will come again and bring some friends to liven things up.
The beer is the highlight here, especially the Midnight IPA. The food here isn't cheap, but there are some interesting flavours happened. I had the pulled pork sop, and it was a unique take on a pulled pork roll. The flavours of the soup soaked into the roll, delicious.
Great beers and tasty food. Had to try this new beer place of course, microbrewery not too far from us that serves food as well as beer! Tried all the beers between us, except the draught, and all tasted great. The soba ale and midnight IPA in particular were very nice but couldn't fault the others either. Food choice is limited but could pick most things on the menu. Shared the chilli bag, the rarebit and the pork sop. Serves are a bit on the small side perhaps but all three tasted delicious and the chilli in particular was yum! Prices for these are very decent so you can order a few things anyway.
Set up is somewhat similar to the Mornington Peninsula Brewery but a bit smaller and darker perhaps. Not really cosy but modern and has potential if there are a few people around. Gather from other reviews they're still meant to get signage which should be good and improve the outside attraction.
Overall great beers and tasty food, albeit limited in choice if you want a proper meal and come here regularly. Hope they do well and will be back in a few months :).
Unique!. Went to investigate the new Temple Brewery with a friend on Saturday night. Didnt go there necessarity planning to dine as we werent sure if there was much in the way of food.
What a great unique space and concept in Brunswick - its really well done, very refreshing. We did end up dining and had the Chilli Bag and the Goulash, Spaccatelle, Peas - really great food to have with their various beers and reasonably priced too. I would definately come back again.
Funky. Stylish, funcky & well planned brewery centered around the beer making process. Impressive views behind the scenes. Delicious menu & can't go past the Bicycle Beer. Close to public transport and friendly passionate staff makes this an attractive place to visit.
Very enjoyable. Just off the beaten track, down from the Lyon St bustle, it is currently a little hard to find. This will improve when their promised signage arrives and the shipping container is moved. The effort is well rewarded.
Only open for a couple of weeks, the list of brews and wine is still short but good and will be expanded over the next few weeks as well as being joined by cider.
The food is great, clearly designed to enhance the main aim of the microbrewery, the enjoyment of beers.
On the list for many more visits in the coming months.
A good selection of beers and a pleasant venue. Lots of outdoor seating and the food platters were delicious. Staff were friendly and we were served quickly, despite being a large group. Reasonably priced with street parking available outside.
Had a fantastic birthday party at Temple Brewing. The food was great & good value, we went with the Gaucho BBQ Package. The guys that looked after us on the night did a really good job - great customer service & a can do attitude. Would highly recommend Temple for a function.
I had an amazing time at Temple Brewing celebrating my anniversary. All staff are very friendly and food was beyond my expectations, fresh and tasty. Trivia night is fun and enjoyable... We love our time there.
The food was great and came to us quickly. I had a great time last Saturday. Everything was really taste and was so nice to have a dinner in a upstairs area with a brewery view. Nice beers too . Although they have to improve a bit more the service I mean our table took ages to be clean after have a dinner. But I understand as they were very busy. Overall I would come back again to try brazilian bbq and feijoada.
The steak was great. I would talk a bit more about the food and beer quality but I do prefer to say “ check it your self don’t take my word for it”. It was an amazing experience . Pork belly snack goes so well with the NWO.
Was attracted by the interesting South American style menu and was not disappointed. I had the Vegan Moqueca Stew and as well as being tasty, it was also very filling. Many of the meals have Vegan equivalents for the same price which was great to see. The drinks are equally interesting, which you would expect from a craft brewery, and I enjoyed both the Okinawa Sour Blonde Ale and the Mandarin Ale with dinner. All of this was in a tasteful setting with a view of the brewery at one end. There is also an outdoor seating area in the front. Would definitely go again.
