Recently discovered this place and OMG the food is to die for! We felt welcomed and the staff was very friendly and treated us like family. If youre vegan or vegetarian then this place should be on the top of your list!

Fresh, delicious vegan food of generous portions and wonderful flavours. We've eaten our way through the whole menu and every dish is a favourite. The family that runs this restaurant is super lovely and make all the food with love. Thank you guys! ❤️

Great place for vegans and vegetarians. Interesting and salivating burgers; delicious noodles and rice dishes. Recommendation: hot plate noodles👍. Curry laksa is spicy hot 🌶🌶, good for those who enjoy the strong kick.

First time try the laska, was sooooo good, every single taste buds singing with joys. Will be back for more. Must try restaurant

Western food hamburger Hainanese chicken rice is delicious, highly recommended.👍🏻

Fantastic food and very friendly family service. The popcorn chicken great. Ended up getting a second Laksa Rice takeaway to have for lunch the next day. Couldn't recommend enough for omnivores, veggoes and vegans. I'll definitely be back again.

Came here with a discount for brunch on a weekend. Was a great way to try a new place and we weren't disappointed!
Heaps on the Brekky Menu to choose from.
Between us we had
-The West (brekky board, waffle, sunny side up eggs, fried chicken, juice) - American style alright!
-The East (brekky board, toasted bagel, scrambled eggs, smashed avo, fruit juice) - with smashed Avo, truly Australian
-BBQ Brisket Benedict (poached eggs, slow cooked BBQ brisket on waffles and hollandaise) - I wasn't as big a fan of the waffles in this dish, but the brisket was soft and juicy.
- Mamba Brekky Burger - sriracha maple glazed bacon was good!
Fruit juices were fresh and good! What a steal when it’s served with The East or The West!

Prices reasonable (Even without the discount), portions sufficient, will be back :)

Had a wonderful breakfast here about a month ago. New owners, new menu, new feel. It’s great American inspired food with good service and good portion sizes. Good coffee too. Check it out.

Hopped in on a Sunday afternoon. The place had a great fit out with even better tunes!

The food came in large portions and were delicious. Well worth the price, as me and my partner weren’t able to finish it!

Heard it’s newly opened and will definitely be back to try out the rest of their menu items!

Fantastic find on Lygon St. we are very spoilt in East Brunswick with food options and it takes a lot for me to give a 5* but Lt Oscar was so delicious today that it deserved it. Great friendly service, loved the coffee and the food was generous serves. We had the breaky burger with fried chicken and scrambled eggs on toast. Both were really good and we are definitely coming back!

This is a great little cafe. Been here a couple of times for brekky and been very happy. The service is friendly, portions are good and prices very reasonable. The interior is professionally designed and feels really cosy and comfortable. Love their playlist too :)

Fab cafe! Lovely relaxed place to have breakfast, great food and coffee, also make really good fresh juices! This place had a great vibe, was excellent value, and staff were super friendly. Definitely will be going back again soon!

The new guys running the place are the best thing to happen to Little Oscars! So lovely. Coffee is consistently great. Definitely recommend.

Loving the new menu at Little Oscar - Chicken and Waffles were 👌✨ will definitely be back to try their breaky! Good coffee and good service to top it off 😊
Heather Morton
Great coffee, service and food 👌 hidden gem in the middle of Brunswick East - highly recommended. The chef's smashed avo was something else

Sensational burger, great popcorn chicken salad, good vibes and coffee. Great service.Wish we discovered this place earlier. Will be returning.

Came to this lovely cafe with a Scoopon voucher - breakfast for 2. Cafe owner was kind enough to extend the scoopon valid period which was much appreciated (given that I completely forgot about it).

We ordered a big breakfast and a BBQ Brisket Benedict. Both were amazing and came in big portions. Coffee was lovely too! Would definitely be back.
Joshua H
Had the smashed avo. It was literally on tip top bread. I could have made it at home. What cafe in Melbourne uses tip top bread? On smashed avo??? 😱

Very ordinary food. Very ordinary service. We went for breakfast and won't be back. We were the only customers at 10 am on a Saturday morning. Our big breakfast sides were cold, eggs rubbery, not much love from the chefs there. I will say that the sriracha maple bacon was excellent but that's about it.
Dora & Craig
We bought Scoopon and wanted to try it out. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing, coffee was good. I asked no butter on my toast and eggs, they confirmed with me twice. And my toast still had butter on!? Why did they ask twice for if they don’t even listen? Anyway, a bad experience and won’t come back again!

Little Oscar is a great cafe situated on busy Lygon Street in Brunswick. Always serving great food and coffee. The Eggs benedict are our favourite! Definitely worth a try!

Cute little spot off Lygon Street. Menu is cool and fun. We ordered burgers which were tasty but maybe slightly overpriced for the amount of meat on there. Ordered chips at $8 extra and told when we arrived they had changed on the menu and were a small bowl of shoestring fries.
Clean and not crowded space. Staff were friendly.
Affogato Addiction
Burgers are priced higher than you would expect for the quality. For takeaway in the area it is ok but might consider other options. Online delivery did not allow for ordering only the burger without the extras.
Vegorama, $16 with chips and canned drink, patty was good, but needed something extra to make it memorable.
Lazy Wowser, $16 with chips and drink, again nice but nothing exciting. They either forgot is ran out of the onion ring which would have been a nice addition.

Went there last night, food was prepared perfectly. The amazing even chef recommend an peculiar drink with popcorn syrup in it. Needless to say but, it was Poppin. Highly recommended.

Came here for brunch on a weekday. This place was lovely, attentive and friendly staff and delicious food. Ordered the big breakfast as it has everything! Eggs, bacon, hash brown, mushroom, spinach and sausage. It was scrumptious! Also ordered the BBQ brisket benedict, the slow cooked BBQ brisket was very nice! The portion was generous. Love their coffee as well. Overall, enjoyed the brunch immensely, would be back again!
Scrumptious GG
Beautiful little place at Lygon st, offer a magnificent breakfast. Had a brunch here on the weekend, and we were satisfied indeed.
Ordered a big breakfast (it was huge), and BBQ brisket benedict, chai latte and hot chocolate.
The big breakfast was complete! From hash brown to toast and eggs, all cooked perfectly. Ok, maybe the tomato a bit burnt, but that imperfection was a small thing I can ignore.
The brisket benedict was soo good! To eat the soft and tasty pulled pork combined with the perfectly poached eggs brought a little happiness in me.
Hot chocolate and chai latte was very smooth.
Staffs also very attentive and friendly. Recommended!
This Model Eats A Lot
This week on This Model Eats a Lot episodes, we check out Little Oscar – a new bar & kitchen on Lygon St, Brunswick East. Little Oscar have a unique menu, American cuisine with heavy Korean influences – think Korean fried chicken sliders, beef, kimchi lathered beer battered fries. Great place to grab a drink and share a feed with a group of friends.
Iris
Bought a scoopon deal so we booked a table on the grand final public holiday. Friendly staffs, good food & drinks, nice atmosphere. Loved it!
Celia
I came around 11am and wanted something refreshing, so an acai smoothie bowl ($14), but they ran out so I ordered a chia pudding ($14) instead. They also forgot to give my friend and I water; we had to ask for it, seeing that the other table had water. The texture was good and the fruits were fresh. The interior was nicely decorated, overall it's a good place to visit with friends for a chat!
Retno Widyanti
Had coffee and breakfast at this quiet suburban cafe by day turned burger bar by night.

I felt a little indulgent, ordering myself a spinach florentine eggs benedict and my usual soy latte. It was all in all a good, standard meal, although the portions were maybe a little lacking and the service good but rather slow.
FoodyBoy
I went here with my friends on a scoopon deal which Little Oscar had advertised. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly, however, I feel they were short staffed because the place was busy on a Sunday morning and they missed some of our requests on how we wanted the eggs served.

The draw back is the portion size, the big breakfast portion size was small (maybe it's served like that for those on scoopons, I don't know), but I was a bit disappointed that most of their other brekky items are just served on one slice of toast, so it can leave you a little hungry. I ended up ordering croissants to fill me up, and that for some reason was put in the microwave to warm it, that surely didn't help. Would advise that warming up baked items be done in a pre-heated oven. Overall, great food, good service, low quantity, high price.

Enjoyed breakfast at Little Oscar this morning with friends which was not the planned destination and was a pleasant surprise on a wet day.

3 really good coffees in decent sized mugs. Once you have the taste and it's good, it sets you up for what you hope follows through with delicious meals and it did.

Ordered the brekky burrito which came with 2 hash browns; loved it. The flavours were all there with a nice kick of chilli, not too much, just right.

Bbq brisket benedict was delicious; eggs were poached well, brisket was tender and all well put together.

Sriracha maple glazed bacon Benedict where the eggs were also poached well. Damn that bacon looked so good I could easily have swiped it off my friends plate but that would have been too greedy.

Check out the menu for what each dish contained, normally I rattle off about what was in it, not this time because there are also other dishes to be raved about. All I'll say is there was nothing left on each plate. Some people say you should never finish your plate. I say finish your breakfast or you'll be dreaming about the tasty morsel you left behind. I'm not a dreamer when it comes to good food. Get it done.

All this was topped off by great service and atmosphere. Staff are attentive and friendly. At the time there was 1 guy on the floor and the other guy in the kitchen service area. Both working well and communicating with each other to make sure the diners and those in for takeaway coffees were looked after.

Thanks guys. Will be sure to visit again for breakfast and dinner next time.

Went here for brunch and was pretty disappointed. Food took forever to come out after asking about it twice. Apology only came when it arrived 40 minutes after ordering 2 meals. I was willing to hold off writing this review...until we got charged $3 for a "side" of grilled tomato - one 1/2 of a tomato that was smaller than a 20 cent piece. Not good enough, particularly when there are so many other choices on Lygon St. Won't be back.
Holly Taylor
$7 juice is not worth it... tastes like it is from a bottle. Otherwise, food is tasty with generous portions. Most items are traditional with a slight twist. Found there was a little bit of chilli/spice in most of the items I've tried which is not so enjoyable. Seems to be popular with the locals. Waitress attempts to memorize orders which is admirable but have no issue with writing them down as it would speed up the process/accuracy. The store is extremely COLD, put a heater on! Would also like to see some more variety in the breakfast menu as almost everything seems to be poached eggs with different toppings/sides.

Coming back and bringing my friends with me
Had a tasty acai bowl and the breaky burger was massive & delicious
Best value for money
Would highly recommend

Lovely little cafe on Lygon Street. The quieter side with parking just in front. Its simply well styled. Pretty good menu with hearty dishes with meat. The burrito sounded great so I tried that and it was on point with a well cooked hash brown. Generious portion sizes for the price

> BBQ Brisket Benedict with 2 soft poached eggs + slow cooked BBQ brisket served on freshly toasted English muffins, covered with a house made chipotle hollandaise sauce + topped with chorizo AND Pancakes with banana + salted caramel, whipped cream + crushed banana chips AND Berry Acai Smoothie Bowl with banana, fresh berries, coconut yogurt and meringue <

Little Oscar is a burger bar at night, and a Melbourne café during the day. They have just launched their breakfast menu and from what we tasted, they have absolutely nailed it! The flavours in every dish are so strong and the presentation of all the dishes are incredible! The staff are really friendly and the service is nothing short of amazing. This café has great vibes, a great location and easy parking. It would definitely have to place in our top 5 favourite cafes in Melbourne!!

Of course we had to get a benedict dish, and this choice was spot on! The brisket has a really delicious smoky flavour and just melts in the mouth. This dish has so much flavour and we cannot recommend it enough! It is probably the best and most filling out of all 3 dishes that we tried from Little Oscar. The eggs are cooked to perfection and make for a very satisfying yolk porn pop. The portion size of this dish is just right to keep you full until your next meal! This dish is irresistible and we wish we could have it every day

These pancakes are a tough competitor to beat in the Melbourne pancake market. From our experience of trying many different types of pancakes, we cannot think of any that are better than these! The combination of banana and salted caramel is genius and they definitely know how to execute it perfectly. These pancakes are thick yet super fluffy! The banana has been caramelised, which adds another element of sweetness to the dish that we loved! They fill you up for the entire day and make for the most perfect sweet dish! We could not get enough of these pancakes and wanted more! This is one dish that you really do need to try!!

The acai bowl is one of the best we’ve ever tasted because it is so smooth and has so many delicious elements on top that blend so well together. We were extremely impressed by this café because it is really difficult to make the perfect smoothie bowl. The smoothie is so smooth and not too watery or icy. There is a strong berry flavour that tastes amazing and not artificial at all. Smoothie bowls are a great healthy alternative to pancakes or eggs, and its great to balance this out in your diet. Presentation is not an issue for this dish because they’ve nailed it! Nothing is too overpowering in this dish, rather everything complemented each other very nicely. It does look like a smaller dish, however, it is quite filling because the whole berries thicken it, and fill you up.

There will be full reviews on all 3 dishes so keep an eye out for those!!
Overall, we truly loved this place and will be returning very shortly!

The breakfastpiggy team

Piggies out, Oink oink

From the moment we walked in to this trendy, friendly restaurant we were greeted with top notch music. Amongst ordering our food we received great recommendations with absolute honesty and this, as a foodie, is what I applaud. We'll definitely be back!

Have become a regular at Little Oscar. Always look forward to the great coffee and even better quality banter from the boys. Not to mention the food is siiiieeeeccckkk. This morning had the eggs benedict with salmon and almond milk latté, hit the spot! 🤙👍👏

Great service and good meal after workout at F45! 💪💪 Enjoyed the house deposit with the smoked salmon, legit good. Not pretentious at all 😂😂 #insidejoke

Food was amazing, great place to for a brunch!

The Maple Sriracha Bacon was absolutely incredible. This place has very quickly become one of my favorites.

This place is my new go to coffee shop. Best coffee I've had in a long time. And don't even get me started on how good the BBQ Brisket Benedict is!
The staff were some of the friendliest I've ever had the pleasure of being served by. The environment is one that I feel is great for any situation - whether you're looking for a place to catch-up with friends or to have a quiet coffee while you work on your laptop, Little Oscar is certainly accomodating.

Went there for a late breakfast today, had the Big Breakfast along with a cappuccino. Everything i ordered was absolutely delicious and the coffee was perfect 👌 the staff were all friendly and attentive without being over bearing. Couldn't recommend this place highly enough, I'll definitely be back. Keep up the good work guys!!

Having read about this place on Zomato I was keen to have a good brunch this morning. Now I've heard about the pub w no beer but a cafe w:o food wt???

My partner and I called in here today only to be told that this cafe has no food. They had apparently ran out of food... literally!! I've never heard that before.

And thankfully they still had coffee so I could have something. So I had a strong piccolo latte and my partner had a double espresso.

My coffee was good but I tried the wi fi and that didn't seem to work. Not my day today lol

Love the funky ambience this quaint cafe has to offer. The staff welcomed us with their friendly and chatty nature, the music brought an up-beat, modern & chilled vibe to this place..loud enough so no one could hear your conversation..We ordered the brekky burger & superfood bfast which both were ample in portion & delicious. We waited a while which was annoying, eventhough there was no one else in there for ages..@but that sometimes happens.

I don't want to be too harsh on these guys as they have ONLY just opened for breakfast & I came on a scoopon. If they want to compete though, they really need to step it up. Service was extremely slow - had to remind them about our coffee orders. There was some kind of miscommunication between the waiter & the chef, as special requests, I.e cheese on side, & only on egg were not adhered to. They were not terribly busy to make these mistakes. Hopefully with time, they will become more efficient & attentive. I had the superfood on (cold) toast which could have done with a bit more green veggies (given its name). My friend had the smoothie bowl which was quite sweet but tasty.

Came here with a Groupon voucher for saturday brunch. Nice little place just around the corner from my new house. As groupon vouchers can be a bit hit and miss sometimes i wasn't expecting too much but was very pleasantly surprised!
Ordered smashed avo with feta and corn salsa, poached eggs with a side of the sriracha maple glaze bacon (OMG!) and also the bbq pulled pork benedict with chipotle hollandaise. Both dishes were DELICIOUS. I would have rated higher but unfortunately all 4 eggs were hard. Usually for that i would rate a 2 (i take my eggs seriously haha) but everything else was so good i didn't mind too much. We were informed that we'd have to pay extra for the side of bacon and specialty coffees by the server but when i went to pay they said not to worry about it. Staff were great. Great start to the weekend and 100% will be back!

Add this to your to-do list. This modern establishment is bursting with an amazing menu, a beautiful ambiance and service second to none. I loved Chris's bespoke tailoring of the drinks at the bar. Harry's skills in the kitchen have taken my taste buds for a journey. Try the Oscar Sauce with sweet potato chips or the Lazy Wowzer Wagyu Beef burger. Devine
... Chris is just gorgeous!
#newlocal #amazing #goingback ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What an absolute gem of a restaurant! We were so happy with our meal, and the customer service was absolutely top notch and made the evening. We had the original fried chicken, Kim Jon loaded fries, the beef ribs, chicken sliders and a beautiful jar donut for dessert. Everything was amazing, stand outs being the fried and chicken sliders. We will be back! Great experience and amazing food :)

Calamari is unbelievable and coffee is top notch!
Amazing interiors, lovely spot for a few beers at night and a refreshing breakfast in the morning!

Really enjoyed our dinner here. Venue is great and clean. Staff were amazing all night. Very welcoming from the get go and made sure to check up on us and the other tables throughout the night.

Started off with the wings which were delicious and tender. Both the wagyu and sweet chilli chips were cooked perfectly.
The sliders was an interesting way to go for those dining in, but I really liked it. Easy to eat, not to messy, doesn't fall apart.
The only feedback is towards the soba noodles. Just missing a bit of flavour compared to the other dishes.

Apparently they will be doing a brunch menu soon. So cafe in the morning, burger bar at night.
Reema Elzein
Absolutely delicious. New owners have done a fantastic job with the renovation and it's nice to see the menu hasn't changed. Could not fault the food or the service. Will definitely be back for the new breakfast menu.

Thoroughly enjoyed LO. As a Korean dining experience, it's quite the departure from mainstream dining but well worth the diversion. Highly recommended for those who embrace the path less travelled...

Someone recommended this place to me and given it is so close to home I recently popped in. It has a great vibe and some cool tunes being spun by a DJ in a quaint little corner (do people still say "spinning tunes"?). The service was slightly lacking when I went, but it was a particularly busy night. As for the food and the cocktails, they were certainly on point. The sliders are juicy, tasty and delicious and the onion rings were to die for! If you're a local definitely check it out 👍🏻

Ordered though delivery service but was blown away by Little Oscar's customer service when we needed it!

Delicious food, and new management Lachlan is a lovely guy.

I'll be eating here again for sure

A beautiful Korean-American restaurant that I came across on GroupOn. The service was friendly and patient. We had Kim Jong Un fries and original Korean Fried Chicken to share - thick cut, beer battered chips loaded with waygu beef, and perfectly fried chicken with a spicy kick. I had the Kabocha burger - the patty was different, it was rather smooth and soft, and I found the lemon was a touch overwhelming. The Daemodo Iced tea was a superb (and huge) cocktail, perfect for any tea lover. Overall, a superb experience!

Full of surprises ...... the venue, the food, the wines and the people.
Outdoor and Indoor dining area on the main esplanade.Industrialist minimalist style venue; concrete, shipyard ropes, slimline furniture, dimly lit, full bar and open kitchen with a huge single unisex/disable toilet. Casual, cosy, chill ambience, just agreat spot for Winter, Summer and in between.
New York inspired, specialising in serving KFC - Korean Fried Chicken and Mini Burgers or Sliders as they are hipster-ly called, the perfect venue for a long wind-down after work, slow style eating. It comes with Trivia Night and Karaoke/Band if I'm reading those posters correctly?
Food-wise, happy to report, their Original KFC is 5/5, very well cooked and marinated, succulently fried, moist, balanced with those "secret" sauce that cannot be disclosed, even when I asked nicely. Perfectly accompanied by a glass of Pinot Gris and hot FAT long seasoned chips ..... then those perfect bite-size Sliders followed; Calamari Burgers which was first for me, those fried Calamari danced nicely with the Dill-lemon sour cream on our palate, done in a few minutes. Next was those Little Oscar Burgers, we squeezed those mini sweet buns filled with Wagyu beef patty, tasty, not overwhelming like some and easily devoured too.
Great selection of their wines by the glass, Pinot Gris to start closed by a Pinot Noir, could have more if not for the 0.05.
We've got the best seats in the house, that is in the Bar area, a long bench overlooking the open kitchen watching our food being prepared by an Indian origin Chef studying a Master degree, while talking to the hospitable, approachable, genuine, down to earth owner Mark.
Another La Dolce Vita moment, thank God for Melbourne, what an enjoyable simple night out.
PS. The venue dabbled as "start-up" companies during the day, all you need is the Espresso machine running and probably with some snacks to work on :-)
MsConnoisseur
What a great little find this place was.

The food was appetizing and we enjoyed everything we ordered and could not fault what we ate. The sweet potato chips were crunchy and the dipping sauce was delicious.

The Korean chicken was a perfect starter however the highlight was the burgers. They are slider size burgers and you get 2...the perfect way to share. The quality of the wagu was mouth watering. The venue was warm and inviting and also had a sidebar, the perfect place to catch up with a group of friends for a few drinks. The wine quality was great I had a Pinot Gricio from Adelaide Hills for $8.00, I can not recall the last time I had a glass of wine for $8.00 that was drinkable.

What really impressed us was the service, the owner definitely knows the importance of customer service. We ordered a burger and asked for no-bacon. The burger came with bacon and he was extremely apologetic and replaced our burgers and also provided us a free bowl of chips for the mistake. My husband and I dine a lot and a number of times this has happened is not uncommon for us. However this time someone has acknowledged the mistake apologized and it was genuine. This does not happen often so we were very thankful that we were not made to feel like we stuffed up. I definitely would dine here again.

My 3 Key Pointers
• Best slider burgers in town
• Great wine prices by glass
• Value customer experiences

Nice little restaurant with great service. Wait staff are attentive and accommodating. Food was very tasty and high in calorie intake. So if you're not fussed about high fat food that is delicious then this is the place for yoy!
Nick The Greek
We came midweek not knowing what to expect. Pleasantly surprised, plenty of good food options on the menu. The sliders are great and the chips are hard to stop eating. Leave room for the Jam Doughnuts for dessert.

We went using a Cudo promotional voucher and this review is based on how the experience didn't measure up to the promotion. We purchased the Fusion feast for two people with a wine or beer each for $39 (valued up to $97). The offer clearly stipulated that we could choose any 2 sliders each except for the calamari ones. That was fine by us as we'd eagerly perused the menu online and didn't want the calamari sliders. However, the waitress told us we could choose from only 4 selections (the cheapest ones at $13, not the $16.50 ones) and that did not include the ones we wanted - Lower East Side Burger and 38th Parallel Burger. The Cudo page - LINK TO CUDO WEBSITE REMOVED BY ZOMATO - actually clearly states "Choice of Burgers Each (2 x sliders per person)
options include
38th Parallel Bugers: Wagyu beef patty, premium Aussie bacon, grilled pineapple, cheese & smoky South Carolina bbq sauce"

We asked her to check with the boss/manager and she did so. This happened fast because it turned out the manager was part of the big loud group of people taking up almost the entire bar, enjoying what amounted to a private nightclub-style party with DJ. This was at 6pm. Our request to have the sliders we wanted was rejected.

The food we were served was delicious but the decision not to offer what was promoted made for a disappointing experience that I wouldn't repeat or recommend. In my experience, it is only the most conceited and snobbish of establishments which treat voucher holders as 2nd class customers, presumably because they've already paid up front.

I also found a small piece of blue plastic in my doughnut/ice cream which I photographed.
Liz
Very pleasantly surprised! Service was friendly, great atmosphere (loved the DJ), the wine and beer list was nice, and the food surpassed my expectations!
I would recommend everything we ate - The fried chicken ribs, kimchi fries, 38th Parallel sliders, and Gangnam sliders were delicious! I'm really picky about burger buns as Australia doesn't usually get the squishy factor right. These sliders are, in fact, the best sliders I've ever had down under. Just sayin'. I must also mention that we went on a voucher which included all of the above, plus a drink each and donuts. We were so smitten with the savory food, we actually left completely forgetting about the donuts. That's a first! Will be back...

A Korean Meet American Experience!

Day one of this place being open I stopped by and the place was actually only open for a launch party, instead of turning us away Lawrence stopped us sat us down and grabbed a few beers for us on the house! Now that's service, I shortly returned writing a week of opening and have been back now well over 10 times! The food is just amazing, the most fluffy beer battered chips you can imagine. Calamari to die for and Burger to top it off and make it a meal. I never leave here feeling I satisfied!

The service by Lawrence, His brother and all the staff is always above and beyond perfect! cocktails to end the meal. I moved to Kensington a few months ago and still take the time to go back her for the perfect evening.
Edy
The service was impeccable with very attentive and welcoming waitresses who provided a pleasant dining experience. The food, although took a bit of time, arrived mostly together which was optimal and tasted quite nice. The sides of onion rings, chips and calamari were very well battered and fried, also seasoned very well. Overall a decent experience.

I can't fault this place at all!
WOW what 5 star service not only do they have a wonderful list of cocktails but they will make anything you're after I didn't know what I felt like and the most lovely girl asked what flavours I like what I usually drink and made me a delightful drink based on that! The food is really Delicious and executed really well I'm only sorry I couldn't finish it all cause I would
Love some left overs right now! These days service can be so pretentious especially inner city Melbourne but I will happily return here and recommend it time and time again! Just need a baby sitter to do so 😂

Service was incredibly welcoming and attentive. Food was delicious albeit I'm not sure if it was very Korean or American. It's lovely to have such diversity in Lygon St. I recommend the KFC -Korean Fried Chicken. The tacos flavor was too drowned in sour cream for my liking. Would be much better without the sauce.

Went here for Dinner for dinner on Saturday. We were running late but the staff still accommodated us and greeted us with a smile. We were seated at the bar, which was fantastic as we could watch our food being made. Once our food arrived we were moved to a newly available table to give us more room. Not only was the food incredible, the staff were friendly, polite and knowledgeable. Really impressed! Oh...and the fried chicken is to die for!!!!

Went here on trivia night! It was great fun with 40 different questions. Great way to grab a feed and have some fun. The burgers are like bigger versions of sliders. Good burgers, but if you're going to fill yourself up, you'd probably have to grab a two burgers each. Service was awesome, everyone was super friendly. Would come back to try the rest of the menu

My friends Matt and Jamie love love Little Oscar. Been so many times. I swear any bad word here would probably result in me being in pain in some form in the future. Fortunately, I’m quite partial to the food here. Little Oscar’s offerings are a fusion twist between Korean and American and it mostly works for me. Scene can be a bit loud at times but that differs to which evening you pick.
Allana
Little Oscar is a mixed bag. Whilst the Kim Jong fries where crisp, tasty and delicious; the rest of the experience was somewhat of a let down. Burgers were served as two tiny sliders on an enormous board which made the main meal look quite measley. The service was extremely friendly and the waitress went out of her way to ensure the table was happy. However the over riding negative for me was the incredible stench of oil in the restaurant. We all left stinking and all items of clothes straight to the dry cleaners. Please get the extractor fan working guys.

Korean fusion with a Brunswick twist.

I've been meaning to try this place for awhile as the fried chicken and sliders have been getting massive thumbs up from a few friends of mine.

Verdict - the battered onion rings with oscars sweet chilli sauce was the hit of the night followed by the original KFC ribs. The chicken was hella moist (yeah I said moist) and the crumb was super tasty. I enjoyed the cheeky drizzle of sriracha on top. The downer for me would of had to be the Gangnam style sliders - don't get me wrong the chicken and bun were good but wasn't quite into the Kimchi mix.

Overall good experience - the cocktails were a little over the expensive side but would be happy to try the rest of the menu.

Came here on a miserable and rainy Monday night with a couple of friends. Little Oscar is a gem; comfortable without being too casual, slightly upmarket without being pretentious. Service was wonderful and not OTT but just casual and natural. The cocktails, specifically the Khala Kandy, were delicious and the food was ridiculously good. Sweet potato fries? Perfect. Calamari? Amazing. Gangham Style? Don't share it. Lower East Side? Ace. And if you still have room left over.....dessert platter is some next level stuff. Oreo cheesecake is good but surpassed by the strawberry cheesecake which was incredible. I love this place and I want to dine here a lot more in the future. If not, I'll try and order it to my house as much as possible. Just awesome.

Went on a Monday night and was pretty empty. Nice music and atmosphere, quite a cosy little joint. All the food we ordered was delicious - calamari burgers, korean friend chicken, tofu salad and friend calamari. That plus 3.5 pints and a bacon-infused whiskey cocktail came to $95 which I thought was pretty good. The service was friendly. Overall an excellent experience - will be back

This place is on trend. Burgers, fried chicken & beers in Brunswick doesn't et any better. Nice vibe and well priced for the quality and servings

All aboard the Korean fusion train, towards comfort station. Little Oscar opens in the culinary hotspot of Brunswick. Travelling is a source of inspiration and owner Lorance Darwish has based the Little Oscar experience on the Koreatown precinct of West 32nd St, New York. Fusing the land of the free with the land of Gangnam style, leads to big hitting flavours. The original idea was to create a burger bar. Thank god the idea was scrapped, Melbourne has enough of those! Differentiation through Korean fusion taps into the tastebuds of Melbournians, with Asian flavours and fermented foods on the rise. It’s a match made in heaven, combining the comfort of burgers and tacos, with the spicy pungency of Kim Chi, Gochujang and Cheng-Gochu. With winter’s touch, spice and tang is required to mourn the summer months. Does Little Oscar warm up our frosty toes?

Amazing, amazing, amazing a burger place that plays live music with a great vibe and burgers to die for. Beer bartered chips best I've had. Loved it and will be back.

We dined at Little Oscar on a recent Monday night. The cuisine is Korean/NYC fusion which, as our helpful Canadian waiter explained, is burgers and fried chicken with Korean flavours. The burgers were OK, they came out cool and there wasn't much flavour to them at all. Cocktails were nice, and beer battered chips were excellent.

What better way to spend a raining Monday night in Brunswick than checking out a new restaurant?

Little Oscar’s was B’s choice and boy am I glad she did.

The staff are ridiculously friendly and happy to talk and answer questions which makes you feel comfortable and they did warn us when we ordered obviously too much food.

Burgers:

Little Oscar Burger (Wagyu beef patty, cheese, lettuce, onion jam, pickles, tomato, Little Oscars sauce) – These had a really good pickle taste I found and definitely hit the spot. Beef cooked perfect and ncie and medium rare, especially for a slider.

Lower East Side (Wagyu beef patty, spicy chorizo, jalapeno, cheese, avocado smash, coriander, chipotle sour cream) – The thicker cuts of jalapeno were perfect and the spicy sausage had a good kick to it. Again the beef is perfect and the sauce finishes it off.

Gangnam Style (Korean fried chicken, Asian slaw, kimchi and roasted sesame seeds) – Favourite of the night. Easily. The chicken is perfect and juicy, the slaw is delish and the right amount of kimchi was on it. No complaints from me at all (apart from the name).

Others:

KFC (Korean fried chicken) – These little pieces of chicken ribs were delicious and as good as the chicken only places that have popped up around Melbourne. Probably a little small for the money but the taste is there.

Onion Rings – Fantastic and the chili mayo it came with was killer. Loved the whole meal.

Overall I will be returning here for sure and hoping nothing changes between visits. On a winning thing.

Unique flavours and really cool blend with Korean inspired flavours and American burgers. The edamame to start was great but I recommend a little less salt! The sweet potato chips were delicious. I thought the calamari burger was delicious but just needed a zing of lemon to finish it off. The buns are a little sticky to eat so perhaps a little less of this would be great. Overall a really cool venue and unique taste offering. I'll be back to try more!

DO: An assortment of all the burgers. Little Oscar is the best. Pair with some loaded fries and chicken ribs.

DON'T: Sit at the tables. Sit at the bench/bar and watch Chef Will do his magic - barking out orders and plating up gorgeous sliders.

TIP: Known for their cocktails, ask Mark or Lorance to whip you up something to your liking and I promise you won't be disappointed. A little hidden gem, thank you gents for your hospitality.

A great spot at the top of lygon street just far away from the crazy busy section,
Welcoming service with solid music to set the scene.
Burgers/ sliders and some loaded fries accompanied by some cocktails left for a relaxing and enjoyable time.
One to visit with a group and dig in to some delicious tasty meals

The best burgers in town and the drinks are to die for also. The venue is really trendy and with live music with a DJ some nights it's a great place to just sit, drink and chill with a few friends.

Been here for the second time, it was a amazing experience again, great food, love the way how the kitchen is open and you can see the foods been cooking, a great experience to see how the chefs work, the seasonal pannacotta is great to last time we had kahlua and expresso and this time it was chai tea amazing and also the great range of cocktails, met one of the owner who said they only open for few months and already on success, good luck guys and thank you very much for a nice evening.definitely going back there again. Highly recommended

Wow. What a let down. I don't usually leave reviews but this was so bad I just had to. They get extra points for the cool beats but the food was awful. The chips and fried chicken tasted like they'd been cooked in dirty oil and it made my stomach feel terrible. Very heavy food.

Little Oscar is a hidden gem in Melbournes trendy suburb of Brunswick. A great place to go on a weekend for some drinks and a meal and equally as good during the week, especially for those living and working in Brunswick. Instantly tou are greeted by friendly staff who know how to make you feel comfortable not to mention the amazing food they have to offer. My favorites are the burgers as well as the decent variety of finger foods they offer.

Well worth a visit if you are in the Brunswick area.

The burger patty tasted like sausage meat and had an odd sour taste to it. My bread was stale and dripped with oil maybe from the burger patty, I don't know. The chips were good.

Best hip little Korean burger joint by far. Give these guys a five out of five on food, service and atmosphere. Have been a few times now and I highly recommend little Oscar.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I seriously love this place, my friends and I had the best time last night because of the excellent food and service! We hadn't been in this area for a long time, we used to love lygon street then gave up on it... Until now!! What an amazing place to get a feed, listen to amazing music, the vibe is absolutely great, it is now our Saturday night go to! I recommend the chicken soba noodles and I tried sweet potato chips for the first time and they were delicious!! Cheeky cocktail also called the Autumn Collins is a must have! 😍

Seriously i dont know what it is about this place but, from when we first entered we were made to feel welcome. Me and my fiancée sat at the bar and ordered the little oscar and lower east side. Great music, entertained by the frantic cooking in the kitchen and a great buzz with a mixes crowd of young and old. Well done guys i never write reviews but this time i just had to.

The place is lovely, service and staff were fantastic friendly and fast! The beer and cider selection were great and the food was spectacular. I dont know how it got bad reviews... Yes it's slightly oily but its Korean American food... Party of 3 very happy we had the calamari, chips, chicken ribs, and 3 different burgers all shared. All great. Esp. Calamari! Will be back.

Pretentious venue catering to the hipster elite. In this strip competition is fierce. The last couple of years alone has seen an end to many of the main stays (Crooners for example). Uncomfortable from the start. I walked in and stood there not knowing if it was table service or if I ordered at the counter. After multiple chefs made eye contact with me and choose not to acknowledge me I sat at the window and waited. I had to pull a waiter up after he served another table their food. It wasn't busy. Strange decor that seemed awkward and tight. The menu looked interesting anyway and was something different so I thought I'd try it out. I should have checked the menu online first though. Prices here are just offensive and serving sizes are minuscule. Just because it is Brunswick doesn't mean you can justify these prices for those snack sized main meals. I ordered some noodles that were tasteless and a tiny serve of Chicken wings glazed in BBQ sauce that were boring. Meh. Another fad to add to the Brunswick heap.

This place was a 10/10 for me with the old owners. Decided to try it out again last night with the new owners. Yes it was ok food but not anything like it used to be. Also the vibe isn't the same Anymore feels abit depressing in there. Sliders were good, wasent a fan of the chips and the prawn batter was way too thick which made the inside of the batter uncooked.

Go here! Food and service are absolutely excellent! Korean-American fusion small plates - but not too small! The place has a cool nautical vibe going on with great lighting, music and ambiance. Sit at the bar for a view of the action in the kitchen. I think the cocktails could use a boost though - the two we tried (an elderflower one and an apricot beer one) were good but not amazing. Will be back to try the rest though!

Terribly oily food that is very expensive for the tiny serving sizes, and lacks any flavour. It is a very cramped venue. We ordered several dishes to share amongst the group and none of us were pleased. We ended up going to McDonald's afterwards, after spending over $100 for the 4 of us already. I wouldn't consider this a restaurant. It's more like a small bar that has a limited menu. I only enjoyed the chips. The drinks selection is good but I don't think I'll be back to eat anytime soon. Also a minor complaint here but the stools are so uncomfortable that it would be hard to settle in and chill out. The menu itself, though intriguing, left us confused and unfulfilled.

I dined here last night. The food was ok. I had Hawaiian sliders & the bacon could definitely have been cooked on a higher heat longer. While the sliders were nice overall you don't get much for the $16.50 price. My sisters fried chicken was nicer as were the Korean loaded chips. The venue is small. I counted indoor seating for 26 & unfortunately we sat at the front of the restaurant underneath a speaker. It's really unpleasant listening to overly loud sound checks through a tinny sounding speaker. Makes dining conversation all but impossible too. We were not the only people to have this thought, as we had a chuckle with the couple who sat next to us about the volume. Furthermore the 'musical talent' was.... Not inspiring. The young man singing must have had a sad day yesterday. While I am all for young talent getting out & having a go, I don't want to cry into my burger over woeful emo songs at dinner. The staff here are lovely. Obviously trying hard to please & build a name in a competitive dining strip of East Brunswick. My recommendation is turn the speakers down, prompt the musicians to play more suitable music akin to the environment & make one bigger burger if you expect people to return & pay the price you're asking.

Incredible.

Came on Saturday night on a sneaky double date, and the food set the tone for the rest of the evening, the calamari entree was faultless and the sweet potato chips were on point, best burger that I've eaten in Brunswick and the beer on tap is great!

If you want to impress your missus this is the place to go 😏

Tasty sliders, decent korean style tacos and delish chicken ribs. $5 highball vodka or tequila on friday night is a good deal. The owner is really attentive. Will definitely be back.

Little Oscar is Melbourne’s hottest new bar and restaurant. You’ll find them in Lygon street in Brunswick, serving up Korean/American fusion and cocktails with a twist. Little Oscar has a great feel about it, walking in there’s a surprising nautical vibe happening but the space is comfortable and relaxed.

I ordered the meals by delivery and it was 1 hour late considering I live 5 minutes away from the place . Food was nice and better than other take aways but when it comes to delivery I guess they are just not ready for it yet.

Very interesting take on Korean/American fusion burgers but all the food was generally a winning combination. Very friendly staff also in a cozy and warm environment. Will probably return to try all the other things on the menu

I had relatively high expectations of this restaurant and this restaurant has surely excelled my expectations. Located in Brunswick, very cosy inside with the live band playing that night. I engulfed myself with the little Oscar burger, Korean fried chicken , onion rings and beer battered chips which were all very delicious and surprisingly very filling. Will defiantly recommend this restaurant to my family and friends

Went here on a Saturday night and could not have been more impressed. Very reasonably priced food and drinks, delicious food, attentive staff and a different and cool fit out. Loved the menu with the unique Korean/ American fusion which is really different but super tasty

(English review below)
Korean style beef ribs: bulgogi味儿,肉质很烂,这个还不错。
panna cotta:请不要尝试!

American-Korean fusion. Burgers here are more like sliders and mean to be shared.
Foods are not particularly good. I like the Korean style beef ribs fairly. The brioches were too oily for burgers.
