Review Spice Mix Restaurant - Brunswick East

I had crab masala and chicken tikka masala which was amazing but a bit spicy as I had chosen medium. Tried the goat dhansak with mild and it was yummy and just perfect so I guess mild is for me. Will try other stuff soon.

The food here was initially great but went downhill all of a sudden, after getting popular the quality was compromised. The owner is a chatty dude that we loved but seen how he handles criticism online and personally me and friends started to stop going here altogether. Momos was good and tasty months ago but now they taste like overly done or been left outside for too long. Reply to owner: Owner seems hostile over a simple review. I was concerned about the food and I told you at the counter if you can remember. Reviews are a way of improving oneself rather than taking it personally. Isn’t the motto of a restaurant should be to have a feedback from customers whether it is bad or good? Anyway, I was simply trying to write a review based on my experience, didn’t mean to offend you in anyway. Have a good day, Sir.

Our favourite Indian restaurant!! We frequently go for the veg korma, it is heavenly. Friendly staff & reasonable prices, love that is open late too. Such a treat 💓

We had very good experience in our first visit. I was very excited and went for 2nd visit for dine in. Lady come and took our order We asked her not to bring food all together. We have been waiting for 25 min to get food and all food come together We lost all our appetite by seeing all foods and couldn’t enjoy the food. Even we ask to hold on the waitress said she can’t do . We were very upset. We had tandoori chicken and taste like off too… I was very disappointed biryani was okay. Never going back.. Good luck

Best food & best services and friendly staff. Really satisfied and can feel the words they say "own blended spices". Ordered out of menu and they made it happily. Takes 20-25 minutes time as they make everything fresh but it worth to wait. Homely taste. Most recommended

Perfect Delicious Authentic Indian (Desi) food in Melbourne. Must Try Once, thereafter you'll be repeat customer yourself. Cooks Fresh Meals with Self blended spices. Reasonable rates in addition to wonderful Customer Service wherein you can meet & chat with the Owner Chef. For our meal the best was Tandoori from the Platter but the final winning shot was Seekh Kebab which was given for tasting by the humble Chef.

All three curries we ordered were delicious. We had the goat vindaloo, jackfruit curry and madrashi prawn. Very generous serves - enough for a second meal! Each curry used such distinctive spices - the flavours were layered and flavoursome. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back for more.

We love Spice Mix! My friend recommended it to me and since then I've converted two others in my household to Spice mix and it's our favourite Indian place. We usually get takeaway/delivery, but today we dined in and left full and happy, as usual! <br/>The eggplant masala is a must try.

This place is delicious and they add HEAT to the curries, proper spice and flavour. Will continue to order repeatedly the Dhal tadka, mango lassi's and palak paneer

Chicken Tikka masala is not Tikka at all.... you've just added pieces of chicken into a hurried curry sauce that tastes mediocre.<br/>Everything is mediocre. The rice mediocre. The samosa overcooked and mediocre. The raita is thin and runny. Not coming here again.

Took the family and friends on Wed night. As Indians we do not normally go to any Indian restaruants because they are basically catering to the non- Indians - saucy food, little or no spice, you get the picture. I challenged Hari  the owner for some real authentic food. He did not disappoint us. The fish bhagia was fantaboulous as was the lassi and the kulfis. The place was clean, the service was great and the bill was pleasantly affordable. Maybe Hari should cut down the number of  menus as it could be mind-boggling to the novice diner to Indian/Nepalese food !!! Kudos to Hari and his staff !

First timers and shall be back. The chef is from the Punjab so had a good. Fabulous entree of Chole K? a Punjabi friend bread dish with amazing chickpea curry, yoghurt dip and pickle. Followed by a really yummy goat curry. Both dishes you can taste that the spices are all put together for the dish, no paste and great fresh herbs etc. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Food was fresh and delicious. Such a great restaurant to have in the neighbourhood, especially considering the amazing opening hours and the quality of the food and service.

Spice Mix has some of the most exciting and delicious flavors in the local area. Although a little rustic this is a sign of authentic and loved cooking. The staff are very helpful and friendly. 5 Stars!

A wonderful, warm experience. The staff are lovely; their food is delicious and very reasonably priced; and their Gobi Manchurian is easily one of my favourite meals. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My vegan friend found a chicken bone in their curry. She understandably felt very disgusted and its just unacceptable that you should find animal bones in what is meant to be a veggie curry. The prices are very cheap and the portions are decent but beware if you have any dietary requirements!

I have been to Spice Mix for both dine-in and takeaway and they blow me away every time! The quality of food is amazing, and I have thoroughly enjoyed both veggie and meat dishes. They have generously given me complimentary snacks on multiple occasions and have made the dining experience so enjoyable through attention to detail and kind, friendly service. As an added bonus, they are BYO and open til 2am! Delicious food every time, I will be back again and again.

Wonderful place! Succulent food, warm and friendly staff and it's open til 2am so if you've got those late night cravings they've got you covered.

Outstanding taste!! Has to be one of the best in Melbourne. It's in a cozy location, and the chef is always ready to give you a little extra for zero charge. Highly recommend!

We were very excited to read the menu and discover that some of the chicken dishes were prepared using breast of chicken, an absolute must for us. These dishes did not disappoint and were absolutely delicious, with tasty flavoursome sauces. We will definitely be back.

Amazing new place to try! Struggling to pick out a highlight dish as it was all so good. We had pakoras, manchurian street food and paneer sahi. So tasty! Lovely people and great service. Highly recommend!

My partner is Indian and it’s always hard for him to find a place that he likes, well high five Spice Mix! He loved the kadhai chicken and will be back to order again!
