I like coming here after the gym for my naughty treat. :) I can't resist those muffins and the coffee is always delicious. Sam is lovely and always in the mood for a quick chat. Thank you for great service. I'll be back soon ;)
Pancakes are amazing!🥞
Absolutely love this place. Great coffee, awesome food and the desserts are simply delicious. On top of that Sam is a sweetheart and always in for a chat. Beautiful place to catch up with friends or family!
Great place and the coffee and food are excellent. I take my young family there all the time. Would definitely recommend it. Staff are great and friendly and that’s why I keep going back.
Amazing find. Sam and his family always make you feel like you’ve just come home to a well cooked meal. No kidding, Nona’s lasagna is the best we’ve had in Melbourne.
Factory Cafe is one of my favourite haunts when visits Melbourne. The atmosphere, food and coffee are such a welcoming and comforting constant. Sam and Vincenza have done a fantastic job cultivating a warm, family business with amazing food in a retro/eclectic setting. A reflection of the best Brunswick has to offer!

What a delight Factory Cafe is.
No beards, tattoos or coloured hair to be seen. Nothing pretentious here, just good down to earth friendly family service with food prepared with passion.Â
The coffees are excellent and the meals simple good and wholesome.Â
Last visit we had the Pan Breakfast comprising a couple of fried eggs, spinach, tomato, mushrooms and bacon. Eggs Benedict is good also.
This is one of the best local cafes in the West Brunswick area and frequently visited by local celebrities. Some of the food is made by the nona and is simply delicious. The staff are friendly and affable and very welcoming. This is a great place to chill and relax and unlike the nouveau entrants to the Brunswick cafe scene, this place feels very down to earth authentic.
Awesome hidden cafe Victoria street. Amazing food and even better customer service. Make sure you check them out and sit in the courtyard. Definitely recommend.
smoked salmon bagel with scrambled egg and goats cheese ...yumdelicatious ... the sage potatoes and rosti stack are fav here as well. fantastic coffee ..never leave till i have at least three. Sam and the team look after you in this slice of Brunswick ambiance here in the West.
Such a reliable and super friendly local cafe. Fantastic food and coffee, lasagna that melts in your mouth. If in the Brunswick area, this is worth the weekend visit!
We're regulars at the Factory Cafe and thought it was about time I added my review. Lovely family-run cafe. Great meals but the home-baked muffins and Vin's milkshakes are super-yum!! What a treat to get a real Brunswick coffee AND have enough space to catch up family or friends.
Great food and wonderful, friendly service. Would highly recommend the fresh muffins. The courtyard out the back has a great feel. Will definitely be back!
Great little homely cafe serving up delicious coffee and breakfasts. The staff are friendly and breakfasts are great value. It's a nice change being in a quieter environment where you're able to hear yourself speak. Will definitely return.
Nice to see a family run cafe in Brunswick great food, atmosphere and service love the pancakes.
Nice courtyard out the back and plenty of seating.
We love this place and visit regularly! The staff are always friendly, helpful, and patient, and we're always greeted with big smiles when we come in. The coffee is great, and so is the food. Generous sized, unpretentious servings, that are always worthy of an instagram photo.Â
Cosy, relaxed cafe vibes here- the decor is always a talking point and fascinating to look at, especially on mornings when you're not ready to chat yet. Beautiful sunny area out the back which is fantastic for breakfast on a sunny morning with light streaming through. Thanks Factory Cafe!
great coffee, love the old style front look and signage. quality ingredients worth swinging past if your in the area..good customer service.
Definitely a family run business. One wall is extensively adorned with old family pictures. We were served by Vincenza who was lovely to chat to. My meal & coffee was delicious, filling and great value for money.
I went here over the weekend with my partner and we had a lovely time. Staff were very friendly to us and the food was good. It is also nice to find a place with coffee where you can actually hear each other talk. Definitely would recommend it for a quiet, breakfast, brunch or lunch.
It was a lovely warm atmosphere!! The new owners are extremely nice and welcoming, I felt right at home with a cozy family atmosphere! Will definitely come back for more yummy food!!!
Went with colleagues this morning for breakfast. Great meals and service. Ricotta Pancakes were a treat and coffee was good too. Will be back!
Popped into this cafe in Brunswick West as it was close to a job interview I was waiting for. Being early to everything, I had 40 minutes to kill, so I decided to brush up on my prep on my laptop. I went in and the friendly staff got me a delicious skinny flat white, and without even having to ask, offered me the wifi password as they had seen I had my laptop out. The guy serving me my coffee wrote it down on paper for me as he served my coffee. Overall, great staff, great coffee.
Just been for the first time and I'm a fan. The spiced dukkah eggs were delish and my husband loves the potato and chorizo. Also reasonably priced.
Enjoyed having a late breakfast here today. The service was fast, the food can in good portion sizes and tasted delicious. I highly recommend this cafe if you're in the area.
Strange previous review. My daughter & I are regulars at the Factory Cafe & always have great food ( they know what we always order!) Great coffee & friendly staff that know us by name. It's like being in a friend's lounge. Sometimes I wonder if the customer is the problem? Hmmmm.
Best Breakfast. Factory Cafe is in my neighbourhood and I have been here a few times. Came here on Sunday with my sister and I ordered the Smashed Avocado brekky and she ordered the french toast. Yum!!! Great service as always, coffee was spot on but that brekky was the best I've had in a long time, dining out. We will make it our regular brekky spot on Sundays. Nothing like a good start to the day to get stuff done.
Consistently Great!. Factory Café on Victoria Street is the place where the locals of Brunswick West go, and with good reason. Consistently great food, great coffee, and great value.
Forget the rest around Brunswick West, Factory Café is the best!
Great space, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Not cramped or rushed (my pet hates). Can't comment on the food as I only had toast, but it came with real salted Western Star - yay! My only criticism is the size of the coffee cup..barely bigger than an espresso :-( Needs a bit more generosity in regards to the coffee.
BLTs!. The BLTs are the best! Also really enjoy the baked eggs with coriander, tomato, haloumi. Coffee can be a bit bitter for me (perhaps just a matter of taste)but the Factory more than makes up for it with a relaxed, welcoming vibe (like being in a friend's big, comfy loungeroom) and really good value. So nice to go back time and time again and see the same friendly faces.
Love this spot. Nice vibe. Great service. Yummy food. Great coffee.
Always good!. The Factory Cafe is a great place, good food good coffee and not bad service.
Recommend the factory happily.
:)
I've been going to The Factory for years and I have always been made to feel welcome, relaxed and valued as a person. I especially love the smashed avocado breakfast and the coffee and chai are always excellent. My children love it there too. It's our favourite cafe.
Relaxed atmosphere and great food. I really like this little local cafe. The staff are welcoming and helpful without being overwhelming. Great food, great coffee and a really good place to relax, eat and read the papers. I am lucky to live so close, great if you want to escape the craziness of Sydney Rd on the weekends but still enjoy the Brunswick cafe atmosphere.
Becoming a regular, the food is good and well priced, plus a few interesting things on the menu, and lots of veggie options if that's your thing. Not notice the grumpiness of staff others mention, in fact now I think about it I have found them helpful.
Best coffee in that corner of town...food is good and there is room for kids, but it seems to make staff a little edgy if they move around! I keep going back - like the coffee and space and quite enjoy being left alone with a pile of papers.
I'm a regular here and have always found the staff friendly/helpful. The coffee is great, the food excellent and great menu choices with specials that change regularly. Lots of papers to read or buy and indoor/outdoor dining! A favourite if mine!
Not bad, but missing something.... Recently have moved closeby as per previous review, walking distance which makes this attractive option. Food reasonable, but cant say staff are falling over themselves to be friendly which is a shame as this could be a cracker if they appeared a little more interested in their customers...will go back but certainly will be trying others close by, perhaps Melville Road.
Just moved into the hood and glad to have found a decent cafe within walking distance of home. A great cafe menu executed well in a relaxed, reasonably spacious environment, far removed from the swarms of Sydney Rd weekend hipsters. And I reckon the staff are pretty friendly.
Family friendly. I went to the Factory Cafe with 2 friends, in total we had 3 prams and 3 children. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. It wasn't a problem that the prams were bulky or that the kids were a little loud. It was nice to go somewhere that was so family friendly.
The food and coffee were great.
Nice decor, coffee is great and food is okay, and but needs something special. Overall I do like and will be back
Speedy service, solid fare. Order two BELTs (Bacon, soft-fried eggs, lettuce, tomato) with mayo on the standard Brunswick turkish pide. Came quickly along with decent coffees, and received change out of thirty dollars to boot.
Also had a plentiful supply of Sunday papers, a definite prerequisite for any weekend breakfast.
