Review Los Hermanos - Brunswick

Good Mexican food. Their Tacos are flavourful and very saucy. Seating is a bit tight but they kindly accommodated us without a booking. Yummy cocktails too
Lina
Best fish tacos! Always come back to this place for good tacos. The restaurant’s got a nice ambience and friendly service. Do book though if you don’t want to miss out.

These tacos weren’t that good and I don’t understand why it’s so popular and crowded. Most importantly, we had a little incident there, one staff splitter beer on my friend’s head and shoulder but didn’t say a word. A moment later, she came to say sorry which wasn’t sincere and in a careless way. We decided to leave and when were checking out, there’s a lady complaining about service with the owner. What can I say, bad service deserves bad reviews. 👋

Its a nice little restaurant/bar. The atmosphere is nice and welcoming. Nice music. Service is okay! a little bit slow, it might be because of COVID. Staff could be more friendly. Cocktails were strong! And tasty. Food was 7/10, but good for price and type of restaurant. Options are limited though. We went right after the lockdown were lifted and we had to book, but they do accept walking. Overall nice, we had a good night.

Love fish taco 🌮 here. Delicious food, fair service but could have been better. Busy restaurant and you should call ahead if there is availability even though sometimes they'll tell you that you can just walk in. Definitely coming back again and been there few times already.

We love the food, drinks & atmosphere Good to book before as the place is fully booked most Fridays & Saturdays ❤️ the margarita & food is delicious 😋 great vibe

Order guac with extra salsa, otherwise it's bland. First batch of totopo was great, second batch was a bit more stale. Fish Taco is by far the best one, and I think I'll just get 6 of those next time. Quesadilla was good. Watermelon Tequila was great. The grilled corn thing was freaking amazing. Churro was undercooked, Flan was a bit too dense.

This place is AMAZING! The whole experience was fantastic, the venue aesthetic is super cool, music was Mexican/Spanish inspired, staff were all over it and food was unbelievable! Food is very well priced, we were so impressed we will be back for sure! I would definitely suggest getting there just before 6pm to ensure you get a table it was full in no time on a Saturday night

IM Mexican and this place taste just like home!! The staff is amazing and the food and drinks are the best ... and they have my favourite mezcal! So fave Mexican rest in Melbourne by far!

worst service ever!!!!!! I have to give a star rating, but know it is in the negative!!!!! They got my order wrong twice!!! and 2 other peoples at the table. It took over an hour for them to correct this. None of the waitress apologised, so I asked to speak to management. The manager was a tall red head. She also did not apologise but gave the excuse that the music was loud and they were busy. Note to management- Never give excuses!!!!! especially ones that are your job to deal with!!!! You are meant to apologise and offer a discount or a drink to compensate. The people at my table had heard my order both times, so there is no excuse that the waitress did not. I blame the owner for packing too many tables into the space. Our table was unsafe, as you could not get into your chair without it falling between the floor and wall. The management needs to be held accountable for the appalling service and obviously arent training their staff in service, if this is how they treat customers.

The best. Best food, best staff, best agave. The best
Danii Dee
Food was 👌🏻 The bar staff were knowledgeable in their tequilas and made perfect recommendations. Despite the fact it was a Saturday night and the staff were getting slammed, they were attentive and friendly throughout. Would recommend to everyone 🍸🍸

They mix a wicked Margarita. Staff were very Cool. There menu is both healthy, and affordable. I loved the place, Will definitely go back.

Unreal! Super cool staff (one that spoke Norwegian to us!) and the best damn food around! 100 points!
Andy Henderson
Great atmosphere and a funky vibe. I highly recommend Los Hermanos. The cactus salad was amazing. And the fish taco sublime. The mojito wasn't bad either. I'll be back for sure.

Probably one of the most genuine, relaxed places I have been to. The staff are very cool, all very different but they have a special something between them that makes this place work really well. Good food and great cocktails... what more do you need?
Pete RedBaron Rowett
Our server (Blonde girl, Mia if I remember correctly) pointed us in the direction of Delish cocktails to start, the food was tasty . Good food and great service Will definitely be back! Thanks

Good food. I'm vegetarian and the veg options were great and delicious. Only thing was the loud atmosphere and the really close quarters which isn't a vibe I like but if that workd for you then you'll love it.

The service was with attitude. Took 20 minutes to get a drink. Waited nearly 40 minutes for food. And then it came out cold. And got nothing but attitude and excuses. Then staff avoided us and still didn’t bring our next round of drinks for 15 minutes. Been a regular for 2 years. The last couple of experiences have slowly gone down hill. Never again. Pity!!!

Best taqueria in VIC! Best best best! We regularly come here for our "date night". We don't try anywhere else. Margaritas and beers are awesome, then a starter or quesadillas or cactus salad and follow with tacos then churros! Heaven. Everything is perfection! We're usually in and out within an hour! Just how we like it! ❤️

This place is my new favourite Mexican spot! The food and drinks are soooo good and really nicely priced which is rare to find! :)
Luke Freeman
Great night out post ISO, staff were fun and very knowledgeable about tequila.
Nalia
3.5. The tacos were saucy (usually a great thing), but didn’t travel as well on delivery as they arrived quite soggy and merged together in the box. The put-together guacamole was very tasty though.
The Melb Foodie
We saw the happy hour dear and couldn't resist, we were unsuspecting of the quality as for that cheap I wasn't expecting it to be nice. Boy I was wrong. Best fish taco I've ever had, the chip seasoning was incredible. It was a nice experience as well as the decor was fun

Went there on a Friday night and as expected they were busy as always! Had a 35 minute wait so went across to the pub for a few beers. We were surprisingly called back in 20 minutes as a table was available.

Great outdoors section, attentive servers and an amazing vibe! Started off with Corn tortillas and guacamole with a few Margaritas! Boozy cocktails, great guac! Next were the tacos! This is where the fin began. Beef Carnitas, Smoked Mushroom, Beer batter fish and Pulled pork tacos. All were great, but the pork could've had a little more punch to it.
Misschelss
Firstly we started our dinner with fresh mojito’s followed by a large portion of guacamole & corn chips. Next up was delicious tacos packed with flavour. I had a fish & a beef taco & was keen for more soon after! Great local place to catch up with friends.

The reason I gave the 1 star was not because of the food but the whole experience of this place was not PLEASANT!!!! We waited over 2 hours for a table for only 2 people on a Saturday night. The person at the door clearly clueless of what she is doing, I checked in every 30 mins, customers who standing near the door and went a crossed road to the pub have all been n gone, but when I went to her to check the list and wait time, still 10people in front of us. The list doesn't seem to move yet there were at least 15ppl walked out during the 40mins margin so one will ask how the hell you can seat 10ppl within that window. Yet after over 2hrs of wait, to be precise 9pm, after I spotted her seating people who just rocked up instead of calling ppl on her waiting list. Mind you there were no lines or anyone outside, so I asked her: so how long do I now need to wait? Her response was you have 8 couple before you? I was like oh really, well these couple clearly just rocked up because I heard the discussion they had with the door girl, her question to her is: do you guys have table for two? The door girl answered, no not at the moment. But clearly there were empty space on the bar area. That customer didn't care she saw a couple leaving, she went and got the table, the door girl didn't say sorry there r ppl waiting longer than you guys, please... nothing at all!!!! I then complained to her, she then said they were before me, I mean I heard the whole discussion girl, I was right next to you guys. The fact she Lied to my face, I knew she wasn't doing the right thing!!! There was another lady was next to me, she said they waited for 50mins, she was saying that wasn't right tonight, she also said when she checked the waiting list, doesn't seem to be crosses off or moved at all!!! She also made a complaint before group of 3 was seated!!! POOR SERVICE from the door person, she is 160cm tall, dark Curley hair, if she is at the door, don't put your name down on the waiting list and walk away. You just take your opportunity when you can, her estimation of 30-45mins wait was not accurate because she was NOT doing her job correctly. If she is continue to be employed but not trained how does waiting list works, this business will shut soon!!!!!
Food comments: very average for over 2hrs wait, not enjoyable after you had bad experience, first impression is everything! Not worth a wait!

This place is fantastic. Don't be fooled by the casual vibe; the food is brain-meltingly delicious (the mushroom tacos are a particular standout) and the staff are friendly, attentive, and eager to help you enjoy yourself. But the star attraction was our waiter, Oscar, (look for the luxurious moustache!). His enthusiasm, care, wit, and above-and-beyond service really elevated our night to something special. 11/10 (plus one for the moustache!)

We went here for a nice catch up with friends. The food was lovely but so simple. The drinks were tasty and that Margarita went down beautifully! Well worth the visit!

My partner and I thought we’d try this place out, as we read the reviews, and thought it was a good choice. Unfortunately we didn’t enjoy it one bit. No idea how there’s so many positive reviews. The tortillas had no taste, was so bland and extremely soggy to the point of the plate being filled with water. We also ordered the nacho chips, which were so oily. Definitely won’t be coming back.
Simmyeats.Melb
My friend and I had dinner here, what a busy and bustling place this is! The restaurant has a great atmosphere and really good service. The menu is great with an original menu.

We started off with the Guacamole, I loved the taste and texture of the corn chips and there was a mountain of them! They really were delicious along with the avocado and other ingredients. My only negative would be the serving of the tomato, onion and coriander, this wasn't a good ratio to the avocado and corn chips. There definitely needs to be more of these ingredients on the plate.

We tried the carne, pork and fish tacos and wow weren't they delish! The ingredients were fresh and the meats tender and juicy. There was a great selection of hot sauces on the table too, perfect addition for the tacos.

I can see why this place was pumping, it was a really great venue.

We have been to this place once before and had a quite pleasant time. The food has always been really good but we have had trouble with the service. The most recent time we came here, we were seated in the outdoor section of the restaurant. This was perfectly fine but we then had to wait another 15 minutes just to get some menus. We then ordered our drinks and food. The drinks took roughly 20 minutes to arrive which wasn’t that big of a deal but our food took over an hour to arrive. There was no explanation or compensation. The staff always seemed rushed and overwhelmed. It’s such a shame because we will likely not come back because it has left such a bad mark on this place.

Cute and quirky interior and great tacos!
My partner and I came on a Monday night and were super lucky to get in early enough to get a table as it was full house from 7 onwards.
Between the two of us we ordered the Pork Morita to start, followed by fish tacos, chicken taco, mushroom taco esquites and the chorizo gorditas. Standouts were the Pork Moritas and the fish tacos. We loved the fish tacos so much that we had to order a second round.
Menu is super fairly priced and the vibe was great.
Would’ve been 5 stars but the chorizo gorditas were a miss and the service was pretty slow, however I can appreciate that the place was super busy and possibly understaffed.
Overall a great little establishment and I’ll definitely be back for the amazing fish tacos - just make sure to get in early enough to get a table!

Came here on a Saturday night for 2 of us. Don’t take bookings for groups less than 5 so we got here not long after opening as I heard it can get quiet busy- which it did!

Atmosphere: can be seated, out the front, indoors or out the back. We were seated out the back. Very relaxed vibe.

Food: ordered the chips and guacamole to start. Very fresh and vibrant. Large serving of chips. Also ordered 1 zucchini, 1 mushroom and 1 chicken taco. Chicken was definitely the highlight, however both vegetarian options were still very good!

Overall: authentic Mexican restaurant that offers good quality food in a relaxed run environment. Perfect for a family outing, drinks and nibble with friends or even a date night. Would recommend to all and will be back soon to try more of the menu.

Have been back here a few times now. Good place for Mexican tapas and cocktails. Really enjoy their fish taco! The back courtyard is cozy and has a good vibe too.

Amazing tacos and sope! Authentic Mexican flavors However didn't like the service. The lady who took orders wasn't very prompt and we had to call her a few times to ask for our order. Can definitely be improved.
The Gluten-Free Foodie
We are locals and I’ve been eager to try this place for moths. Called ahead to see when they would recommend arriving as don’t take bookings for small groups. We put our name down at 6.50pm and didn’t get seated until 8.20pm. Didn’t mind the wait at the pub but was surprised given what they advised.
As my partner and I eat gluten free we tried the beef, pork, chicken and smokey mushroom tacos. All were great but the beef and mushroom were highlights. The totopos with chipotle mayo and quesadilla were also yummy. 4 tacos was about the right amount for me. Our friend also got the classic margarita and said it was great.
Would definitely come back.
Eat Good Melbourne
If you’re looking for good tacos look no further than Los Hermanos. This small tacqueria serves up some of the finest tacos in Melbourne. Make sure you book ahead for this one as wait times can be up to two hours. There are tables inside where the bar is and in the courtyard. We ordered cactus salad, corn, corn chips and a few tacos to share. The corn here is so good! Sweet and citrusy whilst creamy and cheesy. So good I had to order seconds. The cactus salad here is great too, really refreshing. I loved the fish taco it was definitely my favourite. The batter is crispy and thin. The service here is great too. I highly recommend Los Hermanos for a night out or catchup with friends.

Ordered takeaway and as phone constantly off the hook had to go in and wait. When order was presented, after a long long time, discovered missing items. AND the included items were soggy. Rang to complain, but typically phone not answered. Will never go back and csnnot recommend this very average place

Ordered a feast! Long wait for food however service was good and the food was phenomenal. Highly recommend this mexican place. Would come back!

Came here on a Friday night and had a great dinner here but definitely was a popular restaurant as there was a line by 7.00 PM. Would recommend to come early as they don’t take reservations unless it is a big group.

There was a great vibe of the restaurant and would recommend as a great date place or to take a group of your mates. The staff were also alert and helpful for giving suggestions.

We ordered the totopos and it was a bit salty. So it would’ve been a better snack to have with tequila or some beer!

We ordered the fish, smokey mushroom, chorizo, chicken, lamb and beef tacos. That would also be my preferences from 1 to 6 where I enjoyed them all, but beef was my least favourite. The beef taco lacked flavour.

The tacos are messy but delicious! Definitely worth the amount you pay; we paid $42.50 altogether for two!

Highly recommend
Rate: 4.5/5

Incredible food, full of flavour! The selection of tacos and other Mexican dishes is great, even for a vegetarian. It’s a bit busy and cramped but that helps to create a great vibe. Great drinks selection. Will be back often!!

The emperor is naked!
The place was filthy. My partner was served beer with a visibly rotten piece of lemon in it. The tacos left puddles of on the plate. The food tasted horrible. It amazes me how underdeveloped people’s taste buds must be to leave good reviews of this place. Wow- this was a truly disgusting dining experience!!!
Molly Grace Batrouney
Great value for money for some tasty tacos. Love bringing my friends here. Good cozy atmosphere. Had really good service one time but then not as good the others. Get here early as there are queues on the weekend.
Madeleine Athans
This place never fails!!!!
Everything is so good and the drinks are delicious.. the staff make the experience of dining here what it is.. they are so friendly and funny I’ll go back in a heart beat!
Hungry Habit
Just finished dinner here and feel disappointed. If only the tacos tasted as good as they look in the photos. The tortillas were stale and lacked flavor and we felt it all needed more. The quesadilla had a sweet flavor and the consistency of the tortilla was slightly rubbery? Gorditas were ok, I’ve never had them before so I can’t compare them. Overall the space was nice with a good atmosphere, staff were friendly and attentive and our wait time was really quick! We ordered and had food on the table in 15 minutes. Sadly will not return.
Svenja Grabo
Surprised to see that some people have really nasty things to say. I must say I had better Mexican food in the past but probably not for the price. The price matched my expectations and it was worth the 30 minutes waiting period we spent next door whilst enjoying a cocktail. Cocktails at Los Hermanos were $14 and great for its value, Tacos $6 each and the fish tacos were delicious therefore I cannot complain. Will definitely return!

Easily the worst restaurant of any cuisine have ever had. And that's no mean feat. Every taco was completely soggy and the tortilla can't even be picked up. The barbacoa just tasted like bland pulled lamb, and definitely not cooked real barbacoa. Just call it lamb lamb. The tomato in the salad was stale. The guac was unseasoned and super bland. Every dish was bordering on inedible. The worst part is that we waited 50 minutes for the crummy food.
ItsFlorenz↖(^ω^)↗
Very bad tacos... No taste... bad fish ... Very soggy... waste of $$$ ... poor customer service ... 45 minutes wait to get food ... 20 minutes to get drinks for just a beer.. 30 minutes to get food ordered .. bad waiters and slow waitresses ... slow service bad good quality.

Popped in mid week . Surprised to see it so busy.
Really friendly staff . My parter and I shared a good range of different tacos. Some were tasty, while others were bland .
The tacos used I’m sure were bought in .
They could have served them with house made salsas which would have made them better.
Margaritas were just ok.
Having recently visited Mexico , this place is way off the mark. It was just ok.

Amazing atmosphere, heaps of alcohol, and the food is pretty darn authentic. I mean, the customers were singing in Spanish - it doesn't get any more legitimate than that. We had the lamb, pork, beef, smokey mushroom, and cactus mole tacos. We also had the gorditas, guacamole, and quesadillas. The guac stood out for its fusion of flavours, as well as the smokey mushroom. Their cheese is ridiculous. Definitely a drinking / date night kind of place. Hell, dinner too.
Max Mannix
I bloody love going to Los Hermanos because the food is unbelievable and the staff are super friendly and helpful. The fried fish tacos are so good my girlfriend and I often get a few each. This place can get quite loud and bustling which can be a big vibe, but if you're looking for a quiet romantic date then that can sometimes be compromised.
Claudiaphh1998
The dishes portion was ok . But the taste of them are soooo good . I love the ambience of the restaurant . Definitely would go back again to have some light food . Recommend fish filet taco!!!!
Xixi
Great place for after school! Nice atmosphere and very friendly staffs. Fish Taco Pescado is the best among all tacos, so crispy! guacamole is good as a starter

I called up to make a booking for 3 pax hours before they open. When we got there we were seated outside in the cold instead because they considered us as “walk-ins” despite me making reservations. I explained to them I had called and make a booking. They replied with “there’s not enough seats inside”. Odd, there were at least 4 tables available inside.

The food was good and so were the drinks

The only sad thing is the service. Up your game guys.
Red Mind
The staff was really friendly despite the how busy they were, and the food was absolutely exceptional!!! Best Mexican I have tried in Melbourne.
Matthew Phillips
Not even one star tonight I am afraid. Attitude, more attitude and disgraceful service! I had been here previously in summer with no problem. We tried to book for last night (Friday 29th June) but the phone message said they would only take bookings of five and above. There were three of us, to celebrate a very special event. OK. So we arrived at 5.45 pm, their roller door opens just after 6pm. We three good friends were the first people through the door. The staff asked if we had a booking. "No, we don't, but we tried to book." we said. Male guy goes to the back room and out comes waiter number two. "OK, so either of these two front tables are all you can have" says the blond haired young waitress without any charm or smile. "But the tiny table can oy fit two people" we point out politely. "No, it can easily fit three, and we often have four people on these tables" she declares. This was patently untrue. Both tables were about 1.5 feet in width. As wide as each of us were or thinner. "Can we push two of these little tables together?" my friends asked. "No", came the curt reply. They sort of just walked away as we moved to one small table at the front and me, being the single third person, sat on the adjoining table that was about a foot gap away. Remember, we were forbidden by the waitress to move these tables together. Blond attitude waitress comes back. "We can seat you outside, there are good heaters". But it was a very cold night and after discussion, we were politely uncomfortable with that option. Blondie pipes up again: "I'm afraid we are going to have to move you off this table sir (me) when the next people arrive as we will need the table." Incredulous, I reply "But I am sitting right beside my friends and it is only a table for two anyway." "No sir, it is a table for four". They again tried to usher us out the back to the cold. Two of our party had had enough rudeness and attitude. "C'mon, we're going" said my friend. A nicer Latino looking guy came up looking rather sheepish and apologised but did nothing to change the outcome. "I'm sorry" he said. "No you're not" replied my friend. And we left. Now apart from being discriminatory to us in a number of ways, the idea that the first people in a restaurant which is about half booked cannot get a table for three boggles the mind. We were polite all through. The waitress was aggressive and uncompromising from the start. The staff of Los Hermanos Mexican Taqueria made no reasonable attempt to cater for our very simple need. They were so hungry for the tiny table to be seated by TWO people instead of just One that they bullied us out of our seats, and by extension, out of the restaurant. It was a humiliating experience and was in front of other diners and it was downright unfair. We are considering our legal position in relation to this matter. See below my pic of the two tables in question, which according to Los Hermanos, can fit a total of 8 people!!!!

Great place for a night out for dinner. Cosy Mexican decor and interior, with amazing tacos! We love the fish taco and always get seconds. The chicken taco and guacamole are tasty as well. The lamb taco was not as good as the others. We also often get the jug of sangria which is yummy.
Nhi Tran
Had seats at the back and it was a very intimate and fun setting. Really friendly staff but food came out really slow... one of my fiends ordered more tacos and it took about 45mins to come out.. Nevertheless the tacos were delicious. The fish and lamb tacos were amazing. Guac was guac.

Los Hermanos is a great restaurant with authentic tacos - and I should know because I spent a weekend in Mexico City when I was 14. Would recommend.
Rocco Brilla
Great food, ordered 3 times! It's saying something.... I am glad i finally found a restaurant with my favourite cuisine. I will definitely be going back again. It would be fun going with a bunch of mates for a hang out, as there is a lot of variety on the drinks as well.
Gabrielle Butera
The best mexican food in Melbourne - and so cheap! I have been going to this place for years. intimate and casual environment, great for groups as your order individual dishes. Almost everything is gluten free and so fresh. Cannot recommend highly enough!
Melbourne Epicure
Really nice tacos. The mix-your-own guacamole is also nice and lets you season yours to your liking whilst allowing you to see the "secret" in making your own at home! The tortilla is a proper corn tortilla (not the flour ones you can usually get from the supermarket) and the fillings are fresh and quite tasty. Wash it down with some ice cold beer or one of their Margaritas and you're good to go. Recommended.
Valina Whites
nice food, extensive list of drinks. great if you want to catch up with friends, have a few drinks and a decent feed, being surrounded by a nice atmosphere. Place gets packed, so either book or be prepared to wait.
Elle
I love this place. Great menu full of delicious Mexican flavours. Unique in its delivery of nachos and the fish taco is the best I’ve tasted. A Mexican beer in hand and some delicious guac and you’re sorted. They can get super busy but you can just pop across the road to the pub for a beer to wait and they’ll call you when they are ready for you! Love it!
Lache Birkett
Easily the best Mexican I have had in Australia. Well, I’d say it would come in as a tie with La Tortilleria in Kensington, VIC.

First the atmosphere: I’ve sat both inside and out in the 3 times I’ve dined here. It’s warm and cozy inside, and fairly noisy and perhaps a little crowded but that all adds to the authentic Mexican vibe Los Hermanos gives. Outside is just a good, with outdoor heaters for winter.

Drinks are always a must to start. They have an amazing cocktail range but I never can make it past the classic Mojito as it never disappoints.

Food: Flautas or Quesadillas as a starter, and then you can never go wrong with the many varieties of Tacos as a main. As a guy, I usually share a starter with a friend and then am able to manage about 3 tacos which will make me comfortably full.

Again, a must try for Mexican lovers in Melbourne, it’s probably as close to the real Mexican deal as you will get...sure Fonda is fun, but it ain’t got nothing on Los Hermanos.
Shannon
This place is really popular, we came on a Monday night and it was packed so make sure you make a booking! I ordered the cactus salad which tasted really nice - very fresh and healthy, and I also had the mushroom taco which had amazing flavours, really quality, fresh ingredients. Highly recommend for authentic Mexican food.. I will definitely come back to try more of the menu!

Came back again tonight, no booking but got a table straight away. Ordered the fish taco, smoked mushroom taco and guacamole entree. Wouldn’t have the fish taco again, too much batter, they should really look at doing a pan fried version. The smoked mushroom taco was great though.
Alice Brandli
I've been multiple times and every time it's a success story. The tacos are sublime. It's probably due to the fresh taco base and fun fillings. Vegetarians and carnivores love it! I adore the smokey mushroom and cactus salad. It has a great candlelight atmosphere that can get a little rowdy on Friday and Saturday nights. The cocktails are recommend too. It's a great date night spot and group dinning location (there is a big courtyard outback).
Michael T
I love when a place is true to label.

Los Hermanos delivers consistently good Mexican food at reasonable prices. 2 or 3 tacos plus one extra dish (I have an unhealthy obsession with the flautas) is a decent sized meal.

The friendly staff are also happy to help you work through the tequila list.
MsConnoisseur
Really liked the venue and vibe. Has an authentic Mexican interior look with a Brunswick hipster feel. If you are a tequila fan than you just came to heaven, sit at the bar and start knocking back their extensive list.

Friday night, if you have not got a table booked you won’t get a spot. I was very surprised this place takes bookings and the concept is not walk in. This works for me as I hate waiting around for a table, I like going to a place knowing I will have a spot.
The service was friendly however lacked the basics. They were not very helpful with the menu or suggestions. I’m not very familiar with Mexican cuisine other than nachos and tacos from the supermarket so would have liked a little help making our selection. We constantly had to ask for cutlery, napkins, glasses, and plates. Not sure what more we could have asked for. It got to the point I was embarrassed to keep asking.

We ordered every single Taco on the menu and other starters. The fish taco was amazing, I had to go for a second. Margarita cocktail was perfection, must try. If you have a sweet tooth the churro was spot on, some of the best I have had. I can definitely see why this place is loved by locals. Food and drinks without breaking the bank.

ᴍʏ 3 ᴋᴇʏ ᴘᴏɪɴᴛᴇʀs
• It would be nice for the staff to do more than just take an order, put it on the table and vanish.
• Great place to snack and drink but if you are super hungry then you may not feel satisfied.
• if you are a Gin or Vodka person you may need to consider loving tequila, they don’t have any.

Busy on an evening, but for a perfectly good reason. This place is amazing. I solidly believe this place is home to the best pulled pork tacos in Melbourne.
Danii Dee
This little Mexican bar has to be my favourite in Melbourne.
A real hipster/rustic vibe upon entry where the staff always make you feel at home.
The food is perfection, full of intense flavours and precision.
The bar staff are attentive and patient, they’ll help you find the perfect drink for your tastes and are very knowledgeable in their tequilas.
The music might be a little loud for some but I love the vibes this place oozes and its the first place I recommend for Mexican in Melbourne. 🖤🌮

Craved for Mexican food so I decided to browse around and found this place. I went on Wednesday night and the place was full of customers, luckily we went a bit early so we got seated right away. We were served immediately by the friendly staff. I had a margarita, it was not too strong so I really enjoyed it, but if you can handle alcohol maybe get it stronger. We had the Cactus salad to start with and I couldn't stop eating it, I never had cactus before so it was totally new. The cactus looks a bit more like capsicum but it was more tender and the salad was just light and refreshing. We had gorditas, flautas, tacos and sope. I would recommend to try their fish tacos (the fried fish was huge) and the sope with minced beef. The beef was had a texture like corned beef and was not too spicy, really good. We had a really good dinner and the staff did not rush us to go even though we had finished eating. No wonder the place was filled with customers, def try this place and come early!

A must go. Fish tacos are the best I have tried, and the sope with chocolate is something else. The vibe is nice, the staff amazing, and the venue very cosy and mexican-ish. New addition to my favorites.

Perfect authentic Mexicano food. Super impressed with the cactus salad! A must try 👌🏽
Not to mention the knock out sangria. Soooo good. Recommend to book a table in advance. Atmosphere is impeccable

Amazing food and drinks!.... but very uncomfortable, way to tight and packed in, they need to extend the area or move to a bigger venue. Staff are stressed and can't even get around.
If the place was more spacious and relaxing I would give it a 5 star rating
Alex
The fish tacos are the bomb! Mushroom taco was also delicious, the lamb was okay. A great little place to eat and drink, gets really busy even on a Wednesday night so you might need to reserve a table!

This place is my all time favourite taco place! The atmosphere is awesome, the food is fantastic and the drinks are even better.
Make sure you get the fish taco and flautas and the tequila shot with the green shot on the side! Amazing !
Amazing food, great vibe and quick service. Also really great menu for vegetarians!! The only downer is that it's always so busy and sometimes hard to get a table; but well worth the wait when you do! There is a pub across the road you can head to while you wait which is a bonus.

We've been coming here for the last couple of years because the food and drinks are absolutely bloody delicious. The staff are nice and helpful too and the ambiance is cute. My favourites are the guac, margarita and fish taco.

Los Hermanos Mexican Taqueria offers a selection of Mexican tapas style dishes to choose from, with a drink (or two) to go with it. Located on Victoria Street in Brunswick and walking distance from Brunswick Station which makes it a convenient location for some late night tacos.

Cute little Taqueria with a quaint courtyard at the back serving up Mexican food including yummy tacos. They also have a delicious DIY guacamole which you build yourself. Quite novel.
The tacos are tasty and authentic. We tried a variety and they were all good. The cocktails are also a must!

Cosy little joint just off Sydney rd
Really delivers on the authentic Mexican feels and vibe plus a touch of hipster thrown into the mix

D.i.y guac is amazing along with great margaritas but what you come here for is the fish tacos and the potato flautes are great aswell

Lacks other Mexican dishes you'd normally find at say a Fonda or a mamasitas, but I can't find a better taco in Melbourne
Kat
Very disappointing! They were understaffed so were left waiting at the door for ages before being seated. Food was average. Fish taco was swimming in chipotle mayo and none of the food tasted authentic (absolutely no spice in anything!). The best part was the hot sauce on the tables which is available at most Mexican restaurants. Just another hipster restaurant with poor service and mediocre food.

The first time I have properly had tacos so was super excited for this. Seated straight away and good service. Small serves but for a good price, fits what we wanted due to trying many different types.

I was a big fan of the beef and mushroom tacos, chicken is your standard. The lamb wasn't the best because it wasn't that pull apart like lamb so you took one bite and then comes along all your meat 👎
I was not a fan of the Zucchini but my gf loved it so different strokes

First taco experience so nothing to compare it to. Nice environment outside for groups of people drinking (not me)

I would go try somewhere else for tacos again
Betty Joy

Tacos are on point at this little joint! A bustling party bar vibe to be had as the night goes on which make it a perfect spot for a date night! Staff are friendly and the Margaritas make me wanna dance!

Loooooooooved our experience at Los Hermanos. Nice warm and positive atmosphere, good cocktails, delicious tacos and super lovely staff. Very accommodating. Will definitely return.
Enroute Food
Definitely not I place I would visit, yet I thought "why not" The tacos are faultless, the table and chairs feel aren't very stable or comfy and it does get quite crowded.

The service was great, we went in as soon as it opened and we weren't the first ones there. We didn't wait long for the food, we got the trio tacos, quesadilla and then more tacos and finally churros. The tacos were juicy and amazing, the tacos that came in the trio were more so crunchy (I preferred the soft taco for the juiciness). The churros weren't as good as I thought they would be but the chocolate sauce was (really) rich. The drinks and the atmosphere were both great. I'm looking forward to having their tacos again.

Very delayed review.. but better late than never.
Took my team here for our Xmas party in early December.
The establishment was great! They were very helpful and great with my team.
The food was fantastic. There was heaps of it and it was all delicious and came out promptly and well put together.
Great jobs guys, thanks for a wonderful night!

Went there on a Friday night. Best alcholic mexican style drink. Everything we ordered was amazing ! Best tacos in Melbourne. Highly recommend.

Man, do I love this place! I've been here a few times now and each time has been a great experience. We always come fairly late in the evening so we've never had an issue with getting tables in the lovely courtyard or with the speed of service - it's always fast. The tacos are cheap ($5 each) yet filling and flavoursome! I always go for the smokey mushroom and fish tacos - they're so damn good! Churros are super fresh and crispy. It can be a cheap night out but you can make that up with cocktails - they're a little more expensive, but these guys make a great margarita!

Have enjoyed this place for a couple of years now, I've tried all the tacos, but the fish tacos are the best! Perfect little parcels of crunchy, soft, and fresh flavors. The service, on the other hand is not so great. This business of kicking patrons off their tables is a regular thing here I've noticed. We, (group of 6), were asked if we wanted to order anything else after having just finished our dinner. We were then asked to pack it up and pay the bill as the table was needed for other guests. We had just ordered a round of drinks... Not cool. I get the thought behind this practice, production line patronage, but a balanced approach is better than handing me the bill after an hour.

Favourite drinks and snacks spot hands down come for a taco and a quiet beer leave 3 - 6 hours later having tried to journey through every mescal on the shelf and always always failing.... one day. Highlights - house shot and chaser, fish and green bean taco.

A hidden gem located in Brunswick, this place should be at the top of your to-eat list!

Authentic Mexican, good drinks and excellent service! What more could you want in a Mexican restaurant?

Big fan of this place! Great food and a fun night out! Beautiful tacos and great value. Fish taco amazing, the lamb and beef were both brilliant (they had run out of pork at 7pm which was a bit of a let down) really a great bar that has top notch tacos!
The Pet Roo
I am absolutely in love with this place, took me a while to find it as I kept driving past this derelict looking building until I realised that's the place I'm looking for. Once you open the door it's another world, so hip, so happening and so Brunexico. The taco's are just incredible with the Mushroom taco bursting with flavour, seriously never thought anything mushroom could taste so amazing. The Fish taco also up there with the best and all washed down with a Watermelon Margherita. I cannot express how good this place is or maybe I just have!!

Busy little place so get in early to avoid waiting. I ordered 3 tacos. Pork, chicken and lamb. Pork was by far my favourite. Overall good tacos but not the best I've ever had. They became sloppy and the taco corn tortillas broke. Entree was guacamole, smallest serving I've ever seen. Although everyone else was getting another half an avocado on their plate, ours was forgotten.
Birdman
Seriously good Mexican. The tacos are sooo good had the lamb, beef and fish. Had to go again with the fish it was that good. Even the corn chips were excellent, everything so authentic. Tequila shot with the coriander chaser is also fantastic... makes what I thought was a pretty crap tequila amazing. Definitely going back and would recommend to anyone... pity it's in Brunswick

We've come here a few times now and overall have had enjoyable experiences. However, $11.50 for guacamole that you have to make your self (you're given half an avocado on a plate with onion, coriander, salt, lime, and diced tomatoes to make make your own) seems a little bit steep! The tacos are well priced however we feel that they seem to always be missing something- the chicken, however, is yummy!

1 because I cannot leave 0. This place has terrible service. The kitchen staff ended up being servers as
Well to make up for the lack of wait staff. I feel sorry for the wait staff here clearly they are being over worked. Everything took waaay too long, drinks slow coming even though it was a jar of sangria we were waiting on. The food was average and certainly not worth the noise and wait. I have to say it was fast out of the kitchen once we finally had our orders taken. We stayed for starters and left without ordering a main. Lastly close to opening they had no avocado/guacamole which to me is fundamental in a Mexican restaurant. We walked down the road to lady Carolina and had a much better experience for dinner

Honestly a small menu, didnt appreciate having my arm burnt outside from someone on the table next to Us smoking as it is very packed and didnt appreciate the staff spraying my shoes with what i would like to hope was water!

Can't fault anything

- had Ensalada de Nopales (Cactus Salad) simple yet amazing combination of zesty Flavours. I recommend to eat alongside with the tacos.

I can't remember what I had since I'm posting for a visit I did a couple months ago.

Could not fault anything even down to the simple Gorditos

Wayyy better than Los Latinos and the irony is Los Hermanos apparently purchases there fresh made tacos! (Don't quote me)

I think the only weird one was the lamb taco doesn't seem to be a good combo with the tacos available there.

Staff were great always checking if we were happy with the food, it goes a long way.
Jasmi
Overall a good local for Mexican food and a drink.

My main issue is with the tacos - they all taste the same.

Service is fine, nothing to write home about.

Place is consistently packed, and so your length of time at the restaurant is timed and once up they kick you out, which honestly just kills the atmosphere of the whole dining experience.

Fantastic food and service :) favourite place to eat authentic Mexican food in Melbourne. Staff members are all friendly and service is great. Margaritas are a must at this enjoyable venue.
After a quick light dinner, why not try Los Hermanos Mexican taqueria. Cool environment, small cosy venue, $5 tacos.... how can you go wrong. I ❤️ 🌮 (so I might be biased).
We went Tuesday night, however there was a 15 minute wait to order and then an additional 32 minutes waiting for the food to arrive, lucky the house wine was good and so was the company.
We had the beef taco and smoked mushroom taco.

Great food, the drinks are bangers and the service is muy bueno! The menu isn't huge, which I think helped our group make some quick decisions. The entrees were interesting and delicious (we had the Totopos, Flautas and Gorditas), and the tacos were more-ish. If you have a few entrees, most likely 2 tacos will be plenty, but if you're particularly hungry then the 3rd won't go astray. I thought the drinks were well-priced with many cocktails sitting between the $12-16 mark. The Mexpresso Martini was on point. The music is a little loud for table discussion, but not impossible. This was a last minute dinner with great friends and the unanimous view was that we loved the place and will be back for sure!

Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Great place to have drinks with friends, tacos were delightful and tasty. Would definitely dine here again.

I came here with B and her parents for an impromptu Mexican dinner! A few thoughts...

- drinks were made very well with a strong tequila taste. No complaints on that front.
- the variety of tacos are great and the chicken and fish were both standouts
- staff are friendly and get everything moving quickly.
- I found it a bit difficult to order second and third drinks as staff were busy but a trip to the bar to order is no issue
- the corn chips and dips are fantastic however the 'hot' dip needs to have a bit more of a kick.

Will come back to try it again, more likely on a quieter night.
Moetfan
👍Friendly waiters with cool mow's. Food fresh and tasty, well presented.
👎 Quesadilla's were barely warm... nearly room temp.
🙂 Will I go back... Yes absolutely!
The best dish was the beef mince Sopes!!!!!! Sangria was perfect-not too sweet. Fish taco...meah not sure why the reviews talk it up... probably the least favourite of all the dishes we tried.
Micky
What they the lack in selection, they make up for in quality. Beautiful, tasty and unique tacos. All ingredients are fresh and are served relatively quickly. Tacos are priced between $5-6, however they are quite small so you would need to order 3-4 to fill yourself up. Some of the wait staff seemed to lack hospitality experience as they did not seem quite friendly, and weren't that helpful when questions were asked on this particular night. Having said this it wont stop me from coming back for the food.
The Beard Eats
Came here as a large group on a Friday night. Ordered gorditas & fish tacos. Both were really great - and an assortment of chilli sauces are also available on each table to increase the heat! Service was a bIt touch-and-go, with the staff being overwhelmed with the amount of people there. Sangria and diablo cocktail for drinks - both were pretty average. In short, food is great - service and drinks not so much.

I have been coming here over and over again and I have tried everything on their menu. The fish and shredded beef tacos are absolutely top of my choice! And the cocktails! Awesome! My fave is El Diablo. Great price! However, what I found overpriced is the guacamole/ nachos combo. However everything is so tasty and when you keep ordering more and more, you can easily end up paying almost $100 for two. It happened to us twice. It always gets so crowded on most of the evenings as this was the only establishment in whole Brunswick. Smiley and friendly service and chilled ambient (when it's not crowded when you basically sit on one another, should get enlargement of premises, eventually). Great place to go!
