Review Rude Boy Burger - Brunswick

Ben Sorensen
This place is a favourite of mine… There’s something wonderful about the simple pleasure of a perfectly made burger with an all meat patty, epic liquid cheese, fresh buns, and and and. I’m a huge fan of the “sides” too. The cheese, bacon and gravy poutine, the spicy chicken tenders and the onion rings are always part of my over ordering joy. They also have a drinks licence and usually have a beer on special which goes down a treat with their menu. No matter how busy they are I’ve always been met with a helpful full enabling smile from all of their crew. Massive fan.

Burgers were great, well worth a visit. A better beer selection is sorely needed, only Furfy and Heineken available. Get some good craft in there especially a few pale ales to compliment the burgers.
For the Love of Food
I ordered the Hot Chick - The fried chicken had a great crunch to it, it was seasoned well, moist on the inside, but the two downfalls of the burger were 1. It started dripping from first bite which eventually made the burger too soggy to hold, and 2. There was a strange flavour in it which I predict may have been from the Spicy Island sauce (could be wrong). It was pretty big as you can see so at least you get what you pay for. The Cheesy B - This burger was their only smashed patty burger on the menu so that’s what I ordered. The burger itself was pretty small and flat. Someone more hungry than me would be disappointed. The patty had beautiful crispy edges that we all know and love about smashed patties, the ingredients were simple, it wasn’t greasy, but it didn’t pack a whole punch. Even their Rude Sauce I couldn’t really identify. It wasn’t bad but I’d probably add more fillings next time to make it special. Large Fries - The fries were regular thick cut fries and had a crispy, golden batter. We would’ve LOVED them if they were seasoned with chicken salt instead of regular salt. I’m not sure if that’s something you can ask for but if it is, I’d recommend. The portion was also great for two people. I’d recommend giving them a try, I’ve definitely been to worse. They have a huge menu so there’s literally something for everyone. I’d try them again if I was in the area or wanted a late feed because they open till 10pm. I believe their burgers cater to the ‘more is more’ population rather than to those just wanting a simple burger like me. If you’re in that category, pay them a visit! They are open through lockdown so support them by ordering takeaway!

My favourite burger place in Melbourne. Have been here multiple times, tried the beef burgers which is usually my go-to, but had the hot-chick chicken burger recently and damn, mind blown. Crispy coated chicken with juicy flavoursome sauce. Also love their house-made jalapeno poppers and potato cakes. Tasty, crafty, consistent.

Was the service what I expected? 1⭐️ ✅ What did I eat and did I enjoy the food? 1⭐️ Double cheese burger, fried chicken burger An acceptable amount of “greasy”(just) but damn good burgers ✅ Good value for money? 1⭐️ ✅ Would I order/ dine-in again? 2⭐️ Been back a few times. ✅

Rude boy burgers are the place to get your authentic first class burgers. The unique menu along with magnificent staff make this place a great place to go for that burger you are craving. I tried the Canadian (first photo) but with the onion rings added.

Great team, burgers worth travelling for, it’s a local institution 😋 my go to is “The Big Poppa” with honourable mentions going to “The Classic Chicken” & “The DBC”

Delicious burgers. The fried chicken tenders were beautifully cooked, crispy and juicy but could've done with more seasoning, I felt they lacked a touch of flavour even with the use of the dipping sauces. I had the poutine and thought there was a bit too much sweetness from the maple-glazed bacon pieces. It overwhelmed the other flavours e.g. gravy.

Best burgers in town and best thing about it finally a good burger joint locally While your service was poor on that day I must admit I love your burgers so I still recommend everyone goes down and try's them

Amazing burgers with absoloutely the best chips I have ever eaten! 5 star burgers for a 5 star restaurant

I had the Rude Boy burger and it was amazing! My partner had the Popper burger and loved it too. A bit pricey for lunch but worth it for what we received. There was a bit of a wait too.
Shell Greyhound
Even after 15mins to drive home our large fries and DBC burgers were pretty bloody good. Of special note, nothing was overwhelming the other ingredients in the burger - great balance plus the bun was perfect - did not disintergrate. Fries were yummo but a bit too heavily salted. Highly recommend this place.... may need to park a street or two away though

First time I've had a burger at Rude boy and found the beef patties were over cooked and dry.
Nick Kucic
The wait time was around 30 mins but i didnt mind enjoying a beer and waiting. I got a rude boy burger which was great but my partner ordered a veggie burger and didnt enjoy it at all. The bun was pretty stale and she had nothing good to say about it. All in all the chips were amazing and so was the burger.

Me and my boyfriend took the long treck to visit the place as i have heard so many good things and when we finally got there i was so stoked with the vibe and being a vegan i was in heaven with the vegan options the service was good and ill defs be returning but have to make a day of it as its hard to get to for me, but well worth it
Gus Arango
Your burgers might not be bad but having to wait to eat in for 40 minutes is just not acceptable. If you’re priority are Uber and Deliveroo orders then why keep wasting money on rent? Probably not returning and won’t recommend it either. Shame that you can’t maintain the quality work f the product and the service once the place becomes popular
Craig Barlow
Excellent burgers will definitely recommend to my family and friends and will return thanks Rude Boys

Partner loves the burgers theres guys and the fries, my god. Dont forget to try out the Tim Tam shakes!! $9 may be a bit much but worth it guys... trust

Definitely try the ghetto fries!! foodies will love this place, one of the best burger joints in Melbourne
Ainslee Mae
I had the vegan Veggie Latina and it was AWESOME! So so happy with this little burger joint, first time coming and super impressed! Definitely gonna spread the word in the vegan community about this one! Though, hopefully they can expand their vegan range in the future, and make the onion rings vegan friendly aswell great work guys!!

My pulled pork was so salty it was inedible...i thought maybe i could just eat my fries. But they were soggy and had no flavour. Pretty disappointed. Not at all worth $45 via deliveroo #stillhungry

So happy that Rude boy has so many Vegan options! Both burgers were delicious! The Veggie Queen was a classic tasty veggie burger and the Vegan Latina was a spicy twist! Absolutely loved the potato cakes instead of a patty, will definitely be ordering that again. The peanut butter cup Oreo shake was great, I loved the toppings (whipped cream, chocolate drizzle & crushed Oreos) ! Was a lot of fun & will be trying more next time!

Seen a kid wanting to buy a burger at the time getting knocked back because he was paying cash! Poor kid anyway, burgers are better at Beat box by far!
Andre B
Best burgers in Melbourne. Smash patties and fried chicken here are amazing. Would recommend the specials like the gamma smasha (one of the best burgers ive ever had). Onion supreme and the canadian are my usual on the regular menu.
Jose Tomas Yarad
Amazing burgers and fried chicken! Love it!
Food Dine Roll
They sure do great burger here I'm not gonna lie. However, the price are on the expensive side at this place. The loaded fries also great but once again I have had better else where.
Leila
Ordered the Canadian and absolutely smashed it within a few minutes. Maple bacon was so good! Just wish the bun didn’t get so soggy, but eh. Can’t really complain, the burger was juicy as hell.

I love a good burger and there are lots of places around now. Our visit to Rude boy was very pleasant. When we arrived all the tables out front were taken and during our visit the tables inside nearly all filled too as well as the odd take away customer so its popular. I got a DBC with added jalapenos and it has double bacon and cheese. My friend had a chicken burger which was an off menu item. Also got Ghetto fries which was topped with cheese sauce avo jalapenos and a relish. We also scored two peronis which were on special that day for five bucks each so might be worthwhile asking if they have any specials if you fancy some booze.

I really liked my burger which had loads of bacon and it was perfectly cooked which was a highlight of the burger. The other great thing about the burger was the patty I enjoyed it a lot and next time I might go for a double patty on just the basic burger. All the other elements on the burger made it excellent too. The loaded fries I wasnt as thrilled about but there was nothing to complain about either probs try the gravy fries or tots next time. My friend said his burger was fine but on seeing mine said hed wished he got that. I can see a return visit no worries.

One of my fave burger places on this side of town!
On my most recent visit I had the hot chick with added maple bacon and a deep fried cheese ball. It was very messy, but so so good! 🧀🍔

My friend tried the vegan banana bonanza burger and loved it! She was so happy with the added vegan options onto the menu and it’s a huge huge bonus that it tasted good too 🌱🙌🏼🍌

We had the vegan PB smoothie and the banana cake shake and they were both super yum! 💯💯
Jessica Sargeant (Unbeleafablefood)
I was so excited to try the BANANA BONZA VEGAN BURGER 🍔 which is made with ‘pulled’ banana skin!! It was super tasty, with a spicy bbq flavours. It’s great they’re minimising waste with this burger!

Also tried the vegan Oreo PB shake, omg amazing!! So great to see all the vegan options on the menu 💚
Whalesfoodadventure
Vegan latina was a bite full! Tasted amazing tho. Onion reals real crispy however abit too oily for my liking. Cheeseburger was top notch. Cheesy tots were okay. Coulddo better on presentatiob of the lettuce bun burger.. and perhaps a harder lettuce as this was real floppy
Katrina
Food is always amazingly delicious. Have a huge range of vegetarian options and staff always friendly. Only downside is sometimes struggle to get a table but plenty of parks around to turn dinner or lunch into a picnic.
Bree
This little burger joint is a must go to, the staff give out a friendly energetic vibe and their menu is mouth watering. Ordered the Dbc and original chicken burger. The cheesy potato totes were the only downfall they were way too salty but other than that everything else was very enjoyable :)
Bigmelbappetite
Easily some of the best burgers in Melbourne - it only takes one look to see rude boy packs one hell of a punch! Perfectly cooked beef, with any kind of trimmings imaginable - from fried mozzarella sticks, to jalapeño poppers, and a cheesy gems that’s hard to beat, this is one for the burger lovers!!
Lara Bush
Don’t expect a healthy meal- but boy are these burgers the best. There are a lot of great burger places but rude boy takes the cake! The hot chick is our favorite but the veggie ones are also worth it.
Simmyeats.Melb
Friday night had me feeling like a burger, after readying rave reviews at Rude Boy Burger I decided to pop down.

A good selection of burgers, fries, shakes and all sorts of other things on the menu. I just went with the Rude Boy Burger, I like to keep things simple. The burger was nice, ingredients used were fresh, I enjoyed a Singa beer too which was reasonably priced.

All in all a great spot for a burger, I'd like to try the fried chicken burger next time as that looked pretty tasty too!
Nicolebazzano
Just finished our meal here and absolutely LOVED IT. I ordered the Classic Chicken burger with added cheese and rude sauce. The burger was so fresh, the lemon mayo is a perfect pairing with the avocado. The chicken was perfect and have not found any yank bits like guts like I have found at other restaurants. Bread was nice and soft and didn’t make me feel heavy, not sure if it was buttered or not but it was beautiful. A very well composed burger. Staff were nice and hard working. The disposable cups are a big plus for me because you never know whether glass cups are washed properly and what sicknesses you may endure. Onion rings were delicious too. Will definitely be back.

This was our first time here and it is a really great place. Burgers were very tasty and everything was very fresh. Very enjoyable, will be back!
Marco
the cutlery is cardboard
not a fan of my customer experience and it’s over priced, if u want JUST a burger this is the place, I recommend take-away.
if you want to ‘dine out’ then this is not it. I thought I was going out to dinner why’d I get a buzzing fast food thing telling me my patty was cooked, staff were feral and the food was average and hoped for a better experience all-round
Jennie Cullen
I'd like to start by saying that the burgers are pretty tasty. The reason for this review is due to the conditions that are on the tight-arse Tuesdays 1/2 price burgers. The condition attached is that you have to dine in. I am a resident in the building above the shop and I also have the most terrible head cold. I have not been this infectious in a long time time. I explained this to the staff on the phone but they would not make an exception. As a resident, I literally live above the outlet so I find it odd that this restaurant would not make an exception, not only so that I don't sit in their facility coughing and sneezing around others, bit also because I am a repeat customer. I wonder why they would not have a *special* consideration on this deal for residents since we are basically eating in (just one floor above).
Why have a limitation on it in the first place? Why not just make it 1/2 price burgers for all customers on this day?
The staff are very friendly, service is good and food (although a bit overpriced) is pretty tasty.

Best Vegan Burger so far. I had three times the special Vegan Queen and also the two times the Vegan Latina. Both really well made. Perfect balance of saltines, acidity, umami. Is definetly a good place for a Plant base snack.
Nat
Great place ambiance wise . Went in for a quick bite and found that the burgers were generous size. As well as the thick shake was to die for. Thanks guys :-) will def be back
Lee Chan’s Cravings
Their fried chicken burger is insanity between two buns! The fried chicken was drenched in sauce and melted cheese but stayed crunchy on the outside. The Canadian with maple bacon... need I say more? MAPLE BACON! Drool worthy. I love a place that does tater tots (potato gems), these guys do it with cheese sauce. Did not leave room for a snickers milkshake but that only means I’ll have to revisit.
Tiffany
The fried chicken piece was huge and had an amazingly crunchy outside and super tender inside - just like it should be! It had a slight lemony taste to it that I loved, but my friend wasn’t so much a fan of. Burger was amazing, loaded fries were okay, nothing to rave over. All round decent meal!
William Hasnever
The ambience and location are top notch. It’s very on trend. The staff are friendly and always happy to see you. These 2 things are 5 stars!! The service and quality of food however is something that continues to slip down hill at an alarming rate. 2 stars only sorry. In the beginning I’d wait about 15 minutes for our food. I think this is a very acceptable time. It would taste amazing and be something to brag to your friends about. Now however... an average wait time is 45-65 minutes. The food is poorly presented and just slapped together. I understand that it must be hard to keep up once you become insanely popular but many others do it. We are always given the same excuse... we’re busy!! That’s not good enough. You are always busy. I’ve returned many time but always had the same experience. It’s sad really because I know for a fact when it’s not so busy it’s awesome. I though like most people am only able to go at a certain time which seems to be the same time as everyone else. I’ll try again hoping it will change but unless you are able to go at 3-5pm you’re better off ordering through Uber eats as at least you’ll be comfortable at home.

Visited Rude Boy last night. The hot chick chicken burger was amazing. Make sure you add the mozarella stick especially if you are a cheese lover like myself. The cheesy tots and loaded fries were great. Id recommend getting the banana or snickers shake as the tim tam one tastes just like a chocolate shake. I also tried the new Croc Burger which i wasn't much of a fan as the meat was abit chewy. Great service, the owner was lovely!
The City Lane
Rude Boy Burger is a Brunswick West burger joint owned by wife and husband team Karen Ascui-Rodriguez and Franco Caruso, who also own popular cafe Lolo & Wren next door. It’s what you’ve come to expect from burger joints in Melbourne circa 2017/18 – big burgers, loaded fries and shakes.
Cheesy.boys
Solid. The fried chicken burgers are great, beef less impressive in our opinion. They also have great sides and offer “two for one” burgers on Tuesdays which is real good value.

At first we thought we were lost - we have never seen a hip burger place in such a residential location! Parking was great and the atmosphere inviting.
I had one of the specials "The Canadian," cheese & gravy fries & a Sknickerboker Thickshake 🥛🍟🍔
Everything arrived in a timely manner & tasted Great!
The burger was huge & fell apart, however it was too good to stop. The Thickshake was the perfect size - not too heavy or overwhelming. The chips were covered in toppings & went alittle sloppy but nothing you wouldn't want to keep eating!!
The layout of the resturant itself is alittle crammed and small but you are in & out in no time at all.
There is a kids menu but I wouldn't take kids that need a high chair.
We would definitely go back for seconds!
Went here a while back and was great. Shakes were good and was reasonably priced. Service also good.

Fast forward a year later. Prices are a piss take. You don’t even pay that much for a burger in the city! The shakes were another low point. $9 for a small cup no bigger than a coffee cup half filled with the shake, half whipped cream and a few lollies on top. You lot need to get out and around Melbourne to see what the standard is.

What topped the experience off was waiting 45 minutes for a burger that was sitting on the cold bench for half an hour. I was refunded but still disappointed in such a mistake. Have since written this place off.
Melbourne Epicure
Oh lord… the chips these guys do are SO frigging good! The burgers are sadly just OK. Mind you, they are not "bad". At all. In fact, they are quite nice. Just not on my top 5. The chips however, are in my top 2. They are super crunchy and tasty. I don't come here as often as I have a couple of really good burger places closer to my home but I do recommended coming here.

Situated in the suburban parts of Brunswick, Rude Boy certainly dished out some banging burgers that’s bound to satisfy the locals living in its immediate surrounds.
Their super-customisable and robust burger menu allows for all sort of mix and match, adding any kind of ingredients to an already diverse range of burgers, and hence allowing you to take things to a whole new level if desired, like our Canadian. Coupled with generously loaded fries and indulgent sweet shakes, they certainly have found the winning combination!
Espy Eats
I was invited as a plus o e guest to visit Rude Boy Burger in Brunswick West. I certainly had seen their burgers all over social media and was keen to sample for myself. The first thing I noticed about Rude Boy’s was the crowds. I later discovered that Tuesday from 12noon to 7pm is their Tight A*** Tuesday with two for one burgers.
The burgers menu itself was comprehensive and it gives you enough options to just pick off the menu with some great varieties and options already there. Another option is to add and add and add whatever you like to you base burger... kinder like LEGO really... build the mighty tower.
I tried the The Hot Chick Burger with an additional mozzarella fritter while Goodfood chose classic chicken with an additional fried chicken and mozzarella fritter. We also tried loaded ghetto fries, cheesie totts and both the Tim Tam Slam and the Snickerbocker Glory.
These burgers were seriously more than a handful when they arrived mozzarella fritter and a fair amount of additional cheese all melty and delicious. My Hot Chick was was suitably fiery and I was glad of my Tim tam slam shake to tame some of the heat. There was a fair amount of liquid leak from the coleslaw so grab a heap of napkins. The fried chicken crumb had a satisfying crunch to it and the chicken was perfectly tender and salty. Portions were huge... the fried chicken was a whole chicken breast (and not from a quail sized bird either). Very satisfying and a challenging to finish.
The cheesie totts were my favourite side with that liquid cheese generous coating them. I couldn’t stop eating them.
Tim Tam Slam was ultra sweet and I needed a spoon at the end to eat all the blended Tim tam chunks leftover after the delicious liquid was finished with. A dessert and drink all in one.
I was surprised at how much Goodfood could put away and she rated her “shrine to chicken” of a burger very highly.
Being crazy busy the wait time was quite long at around 25 minutes. If this is unacceptable to you I’d suggest Uber Eats or coming on a non tight a**** night.
Definitely one to travel to and not far away from the trams should you want to take up their $5 beer all day everyday option.
Spudsburgeradventures
Firstly, great service, we were met with a smile and a chat and the staff really made us feel welcome and catered for all our requests. I went with their King of the North special, which was gigantic but flavoursome. The chicken was great and the star of the burger (as it should be) and was well complemented by the sauce. The fried mozzarella patty looked and tasted great, but is probably more for over the top burger pics than taste, I think some bacon would have worked well instead. Their shakes were fantastic, as were the cubano loaded fries. I didn’t try the beef burgers so can’t comment on those.
Good Food Good Mood
Having recently noticed Rude Boy while dining nearby I was so pleased to accept an invite to visit last night. I set about creating the most monstrous burg I could handle, customising the classic chicken by swapping out the bacon for fried chicken and adding a mozzarella patty. Mother of God don’t come here on a date! What a glorious mess I made. Also there’s just no need for a significant other as I was having a serious moment with my burger. It was an immediate deep seated obsession that swiftly turned into true love. The chicken pieces were colossal and supremely succulent. The fried chicken crumb salty and super tasty. The avocado with it was heavenly and I loved that garlic and lemon mayo. Ohh and the mozzarella fritter was an ingenious addition. So much cheesy goodness.
I was so impressed with the perfect burger and then I had a sip of the snickerbocker shake. What a flawless beverage. Despite being a serious sweet tooth I often find these drinks sickly but this was exceptionally tasty.
Fries wise we enjoyed the cheesy tater tots and the ghetto fries. I’m obsessed with all things avo so I loved the pimped up nacho style ghetto fries. Oh and the best news of all they do tight ass Tuesday’s where it’s 2 for 1 burgers from 12-7. Get around it people 🍔🍔🍔🍔
Melbourne To Mouth
So much flavour going on at this place. They’re definitely not rude when it comes to adding everything they can cram into your burg at Rude Boy. Given I’m a sucker for anything with Jalapeños, I couldn’t look past a delicious juicy burg stuffed with them!
Their current special King of the North will have your jaw working for a while - and get through it? You’ll win a sticker.
If you need something to wash it down, wrap your lips around one of their shakes - tim tam was a definite fave. I’m coming back for their fried chicken 🤤🤤🤤
Tran
Ordered the onion supreme, the beef patty was too well done for my liking and was sort of dry. It didnt taste like anything special tbh. But overall, the burger was pretty alright.
The cheese bacon and gravy fries were quite enjoyable i guess.
The food also took a while to come out despite it being quiet. However, the staff were quite friendly.
Brittany
Ordered a chicken burger in a lettuce ‘bun’. The piece of chicken was not even the size of my palm. In fact it would’ve been half the size of my palm. Ridiculous.... with 1 slice of tomato and minuscule bits of onion. No taste. Was ridiculously overpriced considering the amount of chicken actually served. That’s on top of a 20 minute wait for takeaway. Won’t be bothering again
Phuong Phan
Generous servings of chips and chicken! Ordered the chicken tenders and spicy chickens and the four of us struggled to finish it. The chickens were spiced and flavoursome. I would recommend getting sauces with it though. The rude boy burger had a fat pattie. Didn't taste like anything special but for $12.50 it's a big feed if you're hungry!

We choose Rude Boy Burgers for our fortnightly cheat meal and I don't think I'll be cheating with Rude Boy any time soon. Let's start off with the tables. They were really sticky. It would be nice if the service staff could clean them once in a while. I had the Big Popper and my partner had the hot chick with the motzerella fritter. We also had the patatas bravas and tater tots. Let's start off with the good. The tater tots were amazing!! Hot and crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. It came with this lemon aioli. Yummy!! The chicken burger was massive and the chicken was huge and moist. The crunchy slaw just gave it that depth of flavours and textures. The pickles just cut the fattiness really nice along with the tangy slaw. Delicious!!! The Big Popper burger had great flavours and wasn't overly spicy but there was just enough spice to elevate the flavours. The pesto or salsa verde was a nice touch. The butter lettuce gave a nice added crunch. However the burger patty itself was really tough. It was hard to chew despite being slightly pink in the middle which is why I was a bit confused as to why it was so tough given tough meats are usually as a result of overcooking. The patatas braves were not bad. The potatos were nicely cooked, crunchy on the outside and hot and fluffy on the inside. They were also seasoned nicely with a mixture of spices. However, there was way too much of the tomato chutney and there needed to be more of that yummy garlic aioli. Although it was a far cry from the paptas bravas I had in Seville, Spain, it was good but needs to be tweeked slightly. They also need to put the unsightly freezer chest and cleaning items in the back of house. I go out to enjoy the food and the ambiance of a restaurant and that giant white freezer in the middle of the restaurant is distracting and ugly. Overall, good food. Not sure if I would return. I would need some convincing.
PeteDlh
Rude boy burger, it ain't soo rude. The burger patty was too thick and lacked flavour, especially for 'Wagyu' Beef. The only constellation was the loaded fries which were delicious. Decor was nice and had a busy atmosphere. I feel like the hype through affiliate marketing is why this place is soo popular.
Jude D'Souza
This place has definetly put in the effort with their shop. It's inside looks great, the staff is friendly and everything runs smoothly.

However, if they put as much effort into the taste of their burgers, they would be scoring significantly better. The meat just had a cardboard taste to it and the burgers lacked flavour.
Nicole Wamba
Wow. After seeing @burgersofmelbourne post a video of this joint, I knew I had to go. If there was a place that served the perfect burger, this place would be the winner.
Burgers Of Melbourne
Burger Rating: 9/10

Rude Boy has been on my to do list since they opened a year or so ago and I finally got myself out to give them a visit. Not sure why I waited so long because these guys are the real deal!

Soft patties cooked to perfection, perfect cheese melts and the jalapeno poppers. 👌👌👌 Definitely won't be waiting so long between my next visit.

Add them to this list!
DamoForce Food
Tucked away underneath some apartments. rude boy has a nice little shop with a huge menu! Beef is big and juicy. The pickles are amazing and the maple bacon cooked the way it should be. Hit the spot, will eat again.
Bec Yandell
This place had probably the worst vegetarian burger ive ever had - just because we don't eat meat doesnt mean we don't have tastebuds! Wouldnt come again!!
David Mitchell
Had the tripper. There triple patty, cheese. I got it without bacon as I don't like mixing meats. Quite enjoyable, and very messy (just how I like it) good stuff
Ally O'Halloran
Ordered the Rude Boy, Chicken Burger, small chips and two drinks. After taking two bites of my burger I noticed that the bun was stale, meat patty/chicken was dry and the chips tasted like they had been soaked in oil that hadn't been changed in weeks. Plus we were charged for something that we didn't even order! After speaking with the Manager, we asked for our money back and he refused to give it too us saying that he has never had any complaints. Terrible customer service and even worse food.
Rachael Wilson
Very disappointing burgers, would not recommend to anyone. Burgers were overpriced for the quality. The gluten free buns were hard and other burger joints offer better options.
Experiencejoysoflife
My friend and I found the veggie latina burgers to be really nice. Fresh, not to oily or greasy, overall it was just a darn good burger, with an some pretty nice chips to go on the side.
Our meals were received in about 20 minutes, which was pretty good, considering how busy this place gets.

Additionally, we had good and friendly service. We both agreed we would be back.
Mae Natalie
Got the Canadian Burger and the cheese and bacon gravy fries. The maple bacon in the burger was great but the burger over all was highly disappointing as I had heard good thing about these burgers in the past. The fries were pretty good. Would probably get the fries again but not a burger.
Maryclare Lane
I haven't had such a picture perfect burger like this before! The man prepping, cooking and dressing these burgers is so precise, it's worthwhile eating in to see him create his masterpieces. Only downside was the wait despite calling and ordering beforehand. But that's ok! I got to see the show!
EagerToEat
popped in in the afternoon today for a quick bite to eat as we were in the local area, we were the only people in the restaurant so we were served straight away

the guy that served us was unwelcoming, rude and not friendly at all, definitely a 'rude boy'.

we got the veggie Latina made vegan and wrapped in lettuce which was awesome ! loved the potato cake patty instead of just the standard veggie patty that you would usually find. I also loved that it was packed with heaps of fresh veggies !! my friend got the rude Boy burger and said it was good too :)
the small fries we shared between us were freshly cooked and tasted amazing !!

Prices weren't too high and they had heaps and heaps of options on the menu so that was nice :)

I had read a bit about this place and after reading some of the reviews below I was a bit apprehensive. The beef patties were a bit too thick for my liking. I had the Big Popper which comes with jalapeño poppers but they weren't the best poppers I have had. Too mushy for some reason. We liked everything else though with particular standouts being the chips, the potato skins and the Tim Tam Slam milkshake. Delish!
Kara Calleja
Such a nice joint and has some really good options. Love the mayo and the rude boy sauce. Only down side is the lack of variety when it comes to chicken burgers, in need of more.
Miss Daisy
I live close to this place and have tried it a few times hoping it would be good. Unfortunately, it's hit and miss and the burgers are average. Such a shame because I was hoping for an amazing local burger joint.

I don't know how you can lose a phone order, when they read it back to you confirm. Then they have the balls to tell you, you have to wait another 30 mins because you're now at the back of the queue.

Ordered the rude boy burger, cubano fries and onion rings.
Nice burgers, loaded chips and onion rings. Portion size is small compared to the price though.

I should've looked at the reviews before I ordered on Uber Eats. I ordered The classic chicken burger. First of all, In the photo the chicken was fried and crispy, and when I got it, it was grilled chicken. The chicken didnt have any flavour and the burger didnt work all together. It was pretty cold and the bottom was so soggy already.
The fries were overly salty aswell.
Im not the type to complain but when you pay $15.50 for a burger you expect it to be half decent and what it looks like in the photo.
Hopefully for other people its better but based on what I got, I wont go back or recommend.

I had been recommended this place by a few mates and I can honestly say they weren't wrong about it!
If you're expecting mushy American style beef then you're in the wrong place, the meat that's used is cooked to perfection and not to mention a real deal beef patty at its finest!
I've been to many burger places around Melbourne and I wouldn't say Rude Boy is the top of the line, but I certainly do rate it in my top 5!
Becca
Delicious burgers. Although since they started uber the wait for food has become ridiculous. Was there on a friday night and it took 1hour 30 for food. When we got it the burgers were cold :(
Dean Mak
Just rubbish. Somehow, even with only 3 customers in the place and 4 staff on, they can't manage to time anything right. Bacon on the burger was cold, the onion rings were cold. I'm a 2 minute walk from the place so there's no excuse for that.

For this price point I expect much better quality.

Phenomenal burgers. Definitely amongst the best on offer in Melbourne. The quality and freshness of the ingredients and the care with which the burgers are made is second to none. All the burgers are sizeable and the portions of each ingredient are decent. A typical trend for burger joints such as this one seems to be establishing a cult following, and then attempting to cut costs and quality without customers noticing. Fortunately his isn't the case with Rude Boy Burger, which delivers exceptional quality time and time again. 5/5.

Really wanted this to be good but the burgers weren't quite cutting it. Not much flavours going on in the burger and the patty was overcooked. Fries were solid tho

My usual burger place is Coburger, which I order through UberEATS, but thought I'd try a new burger joint!
Scrolled through UberEATS and found Rude Boy Burger. I order The Rude Boy, Chips and a Tim Tam Slam and guess what?! NEVER DOING THAT AGAIN!
Not only is the price extortionate for what you get, the quality is awful.
Let's start with the burger. The patty was over-cooked, tasteless and had gritty hard bits in it (like when you get a cheap meat pie from the milk bar). The sauce? Hahaha what sauce?! I'm pretty sure they use a 20c piece to measure how much they use. Then there was lettuce, tomato and onion - can't really complain about them, is what it is! Cheese? Maybe half a slice was on my burger? This is the real kicker though, the burger alone was $14!!!!! At Coburger I get a cheeseburger with lettuce, cheese, tomato, onion, beef patty, mac and cheese patty, bacon and two types of sauces for only $12.50 and it's much better quality.
The chips, hard, cold and dry. Also, I asked for sauce to have with them which they failed to provide. Chips are $4 *eye roll*.
Moving onto the Tim Tam Slam. It's literally just taste like a chocolate milkshake. The only reason I knew it had tim Tam in it is because when I opened the lid, I could see tiny bits of soggy biscuit in it, and not the good kind of soggy, trust me. That set me back $7.50. Not only do the milkshakes from Coburger cost $7, they'll also bigger.
SO! Try if you must, but if you're after a really really good burger, go to Coburger OR New York Minute.

Rude Boy need to lower their prices or raise their quality.
Must Be Hungry
Rude Boy Burger was our choice for dinner last weekend as we were after a burger in our area we decided to give it a go.

I ordered potatoes skins and the Canadian (on special) 🍔🍔🍔

The food came out quite quickly and from the first glance it didn't look right. The supposedly double american cheddar cheese wasn't melted, the patty was too overcooked and bit cold (otherwise it would have melted the cheese a bit) and the bacon (mostly the fat) had no flavour at all of maple syrup. The potatoes skins saved the day as they were quite different and really tasty. I am sure that the burger must have been a mistake which it can happen, we will surely come back to give it another go 😊

Thank you for having us 🙏

Great little local burger 🍔 shop. Burgers 🍔 and fries 🍟 were delicious. Service was friendly and welcoming. Decor inside was groovy....Will definitely be back 😀

Certainly not the worst burgers around. But there's a bit of room for improvement here. The beef lacks flavour and is kind of crumbly I guess. The chicken isn't anything special. I didn't care for it much. Most of the other ingredients are good though. But it just seems too dry.

It does have some amazing Americanised burgers too it..
But there was something off... wasn't 100% on it

But the burgers weren't 100%

But the Cubano chips 10/10 (pulled pork + pickles) yes gay but yay

Also milkshake goals etc etc

We ordered take away. Food was cold. Barely warm at best. Burger (pattie itself) was decent size, but really lacked taste and pizzazz... The cheese is like US cheese, bright yellow and rubber looking. Buns are really fluffy & pickles were yum. Fries were ok, very oily. potato gems were just pieces of potato - they weren't fluffy.. Other than that - would not go back!!
Alex Zervas
Terrible burgers. The meat was raw and the burgers were stone cold. The fries we had were soggy and the potato gems seemed like they were frozen. Wouldn't be going back here in a hurry.

I was really looking forward to Rude Boy Burger thanks to images of their picture perfect burgers on social media. However I was somewhat disappointed. The burgers certainly look good, but the meat used in their patties is below par and results in a pretty average tasting burger.
" THE " CRITIC
This place is hit and miss, I find they are in a really awkward location.. them and lolo and wren. I think if these guys were not here it would be a real dead spot. So great work guys they are keeping this whole area alive.

I got the Popper which I loved but my other half was a bit underwhelmed with the Rude Boy Burger. Super tasty and surprisingly not a greasy heart attack even though it looked it :) The chips were nice and crispy which is always a bonus. 15 minute wait on a Saturday night for takeaway was totally reasonable (with a buzzer so I could go and wait in the car)!

Been here a few times....consistently great. I've had the rude boy, DBC, Big popper and the Canadian. All are brilliant with well cooked meat, fresh ingredients and a soft bun that has substance. The sides are as good as you'll find anywhere...the potato gems are different to what you would expect but are definitely recommended as are the loaded potato skins. Shakes are also very well done. Highly recommended.

lasagna fries! now that is a good side to your burger! First place I have had them.

As for the burger it was everything you would expect from a burger place. It was well cooked, the cheese was melted and the bun was held it all together like a champ. I had the DBC

After the first time I went there I went again with a group of mates and we all really enjoyed it, not a bad word to be side. Following that some other friends went and also reported back they enjoyed it.

This place is worth checking out, if you got to drive a bit to get there still worth it!

Tried the vegan burger, it was very tasty but hard to eat as it falls apart and gets a little soggy. Waited about 20 mins for our meals I think. Would like to see more vegan options.

The place is small. Looks like a little cafe however service was good and staff are friendly. The burger i ordered was the canadian and when it comes out it looks picture perfect. It tasted very nice and meat was cooked perfectly. I also ordered the ghetto fries..i personally wasnt a fan of the flavour combination but if you love that mexican taste then ull probably like it. Overall would come back for the burgers.

Friendly service, burger came out at an expected pace on a Saturday night, burger was good not amazing though for the price. Spent over $20 on Parma burger and small onion rings, good quality but a tad too pricey for me to come back anytime soon. Not much to fault regarding vibe, service or the food.

Rude Boy Burger. Busy little burger joint with a bit of a wait but well worth it. This is one tasty burger and loaded fries, I recommend take away as there is not a lot of seating.
Ana Palfrey
20 minute wait for onion rings at 4pm on a Sunday. They really need to organise themselves and prioritise orders. We will not be going back again
ALWAYS HUNGRY
Although the venue was busy, we were able to grab a seat. Quite an obscure location (beneath an apartment block on a quiet street). Very bland beef patty, I would compare the texture to sausage mince without the flavour. Bun was ok, sauces were ok, burger was just ok.

Pathetic. Son is really gluten (and yeast) intolerant. We brought in our own bread (new, sealed in packaging) and they refused to use it. Didn't ask for a discount, just for them to be accommodating. Wouldn't recommend - purely for rude hospitality. Went because of cool combinations and ingredient options - No need to discuss food quality/taste because of above experience.
Would be a good place if they worked on key business elements / service and small details.

Waited way to long and i got the meat and heat the burger was cold not very nice not very happy for 17 dollars would not recommend this burger place

Tried the "Meat & Heat" burger at this nicely tucked restaurant in a quiet side street of Brunswick. The burger includes 2 x 150g meat patties, making it a nightmare (but a beautiful nightmare) to wrap your mouth around. Although $17.00 is on the slightly steeper side, its guaranteed to fill you up. These guys also came up with the great idea of serving all burgers in a half-opened cardboard containers to avoid it collapsing...genius !

The combination of ingredients (including jalapenos, pickles, onion, cheese) are perfect, however the chipotle relish is too overbearing, and distracts the taste of the meat (the most important element). I also found that my meat patties were not tender enough, a bit too dense for my liking. The surprise of the night were without a doubt the "Loaded Cubano Fries", topped with pulled pork and sexy/spicy condiments, its great winter junk food ! after 10mins of eating it turns into a big heap of mush, but a beautiful mush at that !

Just came to this place and we ordered and waited and waited and after an forty minutes we asked how long and the forgot our order...... Avoid this place, they didn't even care that they forgot our order..

Came here on a Thursday night. Wasn’t busy, which was great. I got the ‘Rude Boy’, along with some fries.

Took about 15 to 20 minutes for my order (as well as my family members’ orders) to come out. The burgers were fairly large, but weren’t as juicy as I expected them to be. I prefer my beef well done, but it seemed to be cooked medium - well; just a heads up if you prefer the beef to be cooked a certain way. The fries were really good too, not too oily or salty.

(I also really liked the packaging in which the food came in!).

The staff are friendly and the overall environment of the place is quite chill and relaxing.

I believe there is room for improvement, but nonetheless, an average place for a burger fix.

I don't understand the poor reviews here. These burgers are great. Pretty tasty, bun is soft, large option of burgers to choose from, size is good as well, great presentation, friendly staff, quality ingredients. Sometimes a bit salty that is the only negative I would say. Better that other places around the area.

27-May-16 In for a quick burger at Rude Boys and they were fairly busy with take away orders, but we did manage to find a table for two of us. We placed our order of DCB burgers and fries. We waited. And waited. And waited over thirty minutes for the burgers. Our number was finally called, we collected the order and started eating and the burgers were luke warm and the bacon was cold and they were soggy. We ploughed on. The burgers are really filling and full of flavour but they're really messy to eat as the buns fell apart due to a high moisture content. The chips were a ten out of ten!!! This visit was a very disappointing as the burgers are great but on this occasion they let the quality slip as I suspect they prioritised all of the takeaway orders. I'll be back soon for another burger but it will need to be up to scratch otherwise no more rude boys for me!!

As a vegetarian, I wouldn't recommend the VEGE burgers unless you love fried batter and grease. I've had some awesome veg burgers in melb and this one LOOKS good, but for me the "patties" are a real let down.. Basically thin slices of potato coated in a lot of batter and deep fried to the point it's just oozin oil. The avo salsa was good.. But the bun was just your average burger bun - nothing special:
Jen
Yummy yummy! Great vibe, burgers are huge but a little overly greasy (good or bad depending on what you're after) . Would be cool if there was more vego options but a great range none the less. The milkshakes are AMAZING.

Been here a million times now and will continue to come back!
I've tried a couple of different burgers and so have my friends, we've loved all of them. The cooks take so much care and pride in the burgers and you can see this while they are putting it all together. The chips are spectacular. Especially the loaded fries or potato gems, they're never too soggy or have been overdone with toppings, always a perfect amount.
Perfect hangover cure burger, or if you're just in the mood for some great food.

Came here Sunday for lunch. Was pretty quite so ordered and got our food in about 20 minutes. The fried chicken parma bun was very nice and tender. Nicely packaged and easy to eat. Fries were nice and crispy too. Not the best burgers I've had but definately good to have a burger joint in that area.

I went last week and had the 2am special burger with lamb shoulder, pomegranate and mint etc and it was absolutely delicious. Both the normal and loaded fries are super yummy as well!! Reasonably priced and would recommend

This place is really good, with a wide menu choice with lots of different burgers and sides and a tremendous milkshake selection also! My only complaint about this place is the actual meat used on the burger... It was nice, but I'm unsure as to if it was just a frozen burger rather then freshly rolled up mince and cooked on the spot which is what we all prefer when eating out!
