Great food, great service. I booked for 12, but 20 showed up. The staff were very helpful. They didn't complain or get annoyed. Just helped out where they could by finding extra chairs and space to fit everyone in.
The quality and authenticity of the food was very good
Food and service was amazing, can’t wait to go back
Absolutely loved it. The food was fantastic and fresh, service was prompt and polite, we were a large table so they were run off their feet, but nothing was missed. Plenty of good sake too.
Came for dinner on a Sunday night, with 4 adults and 2 kids under 12. The restaurant was pretty busy so it was good thing I managed to make a booking earlier in the day. Service was prompt and the food came out quite quickly. We managed to try most dishes on the menu. Highlighs were the beef carpaccio, squid salad and miso steak. The serving size for most dishes would be adjusted for party size. It was a pleasant evening and our group had a good night, but we'll probably spend a bit more $ and try a different restaurant next time
Great value for money!
The food was fresh and delicious. I haven't dined at too many other Japanese restaurants although i was super impressed with variety of options and low cost for all you can eat. The service was good although took a while to get water and wine glasses and a few things that were ordered never came but all in all we would definitely return!
The take away menu also looks pretty competitive for price and value!
Thank you OKAMI :)
Great value for money. It’s an excellent concept ordering as much as you can and eating it. SERVICE, QUALITY are excellent! Just need to book to get a table and can’t walk in!
Was taken here for my birthday by my family.
Couldn't fault anything, yes it can be loud but it is a busy place for a reason. The food was 10/10 and the service was friendly and very quick.
Will be coming back again.
Thank you for my Candle as well :)
Love the all you can eat here. Everything tastes fresh. My favourite is the miso eggplant because of the flavours and the texture. Sushi is also amazing here
Affordable and delicious. A must visit place if you are a big eater, the all you can eat is a beautiful experience. I will be back time and time again in the future that’s for sure.
Service was excellent. Staff were friendly and extremely attentive! Order the tofu, seaweed salad and beef were the highlights. Would definitely go again. A great casual restaurant.
All you can eat menu is amazing. Loved everything. Lots of choice too. Definitely would recommend. Bonus discount for seniors too! Recommend the prawns, potato croquettes, tempura and sushi. But really it was all delicious.
This is Japanese food done very well indeed. It is fresh and incredibly delicious. I tried many different things from the menu and loved each and every one. There was not one thing I could fault. The sauces are simply amazing and add so much flavour to every dish. The ingredients used are fresh, tasty, and high quality. The meat is perfectly cooked and very tender and flavourful. Considering how incredible this food is and how much we ate the bill came to almost nothing. It’s great value for money. I didn’t try the all you can eat but I definitely will be, as that also seems like very good value.
All we wanted was a bigger table otherwise the six of us enjoyed the experience. Love you can eat as much as you want but it's served fresh- not from a dish under lights sitting there all night. The wait stuff were busy but great once you have their attention.
This has definitely got to be one of my favourite restaurants. Super cheap and great value for money. Would recommend doing the all you can eat, definitely worth it and probably cheaper to be frank. Could definitely come here every night and still not get sick of it. Also great place to go with mates. Just book in advanced. Super busy
possibly the OG of okami. been here a few times with a group of friends. great service. fresh and great variety of food. love the branches. would come again.
Stand alone Japanese food, the rating would be lower. However because it's all you can eat at a reasonable price, the rating goes up.
Some dishes were actually quite nice. But some were pretty average. Staff were nice but some have problems speaking English so bare with them.
One downside I should mention is it can take some time to get your order especially on busy nights. I started ordering 5 dishes at a time.
Just note though. You need to finish all your ordered food or you can be charged for every 250g left.
Was a great night. Not going to rush back but could see us eating here again.

Good Japanese food for the price with speedy staff ready to assist. I wish you could order just sashimi though rather than that and sushi rolls. I love their Chicken Katsu!
First time here and their green tea(matcha) ice cream is amazing!! We did all you can eat for $32.80 and tried quite a few dishes and the ice cream is just divine. It looked like it had real green tea leaves grounded and the bitterness cut through the sweetness of the ice cream, such a great pity you could only have one scoop!! Anyhow their beef carpaccio( finely cut raw beef seared slightly on the outside) was also delicious and super tender. All their presentations were done nicely, and such a value for money for sure. I must say I didn’t like some of their flavouring, but their meat is super tender. And the fact that you get to taste everything or whatever you want is just so good. Sometimes you go to a restaurant and order a dish that cost around $30 and not what you expect, you feel being ripped off but with this restaurant you just move on to something else until you find what you like! They bring your order bit by bit, and this is very enjoyable!! I have to say this was better than conservatory, totally different kettle of fish, but more satisfactory!
Food was tasty, service was friendly and efficient! A good selection of dishes at an affordable price. Will definitely return in the near future :)
Okami
All you can eat sushi EVERYTHING made fresh as you order what more could you ask for??
$32.80 pp
Dishes:
Sushi and Sashimi Platter- Sushi platter included salmon and tuna sashimi also nigiri and sushi rolls all made fresh as you order. Super delicious but I just wish there was more sashimi!!
Takoyaki- Octopus balls with tonkazu and wasabi mayo
Chicken Karrage- good but missing some sort of mayo on the side to dip into
Seaweed Salad- really nice, best part of it is that you don’t need to spend $5 for a small serving. You could eat as much as you want
Miso soup- just like any other places
Dessert:
Green Tea (Matcha) ice-cream was a little bit icy
Black Sesame- good flavours but same as the green tea ice-cream icy
Green Tea Daifuku- Japanese Mochi stuffed with sweet filling. I’ve never eaten anything like this before. If you haven’t either I do recommend it as it doesn’t taste bad.
Overall Experience
9/10
Been wanting to try this place for awhile and I’m glad we did because we can finally tick it off the bucket list 😂. It wasn’t so busy for a Monday night but it wasn’t so quiet either. In terms of the service, I thought it was good and our orders came out after a reasonable amount of time. In terms of the food, it wasn’t the best Japanese food we ever had but it’s not too bad. For all you can eat, I think it’s great 😊
Okami Japanese is one of the many Japanese buffets in Melbourne offering an all you can eat style dining experience. Although there are many other all you can eat style Japanese buffets, Okami is by far the largest of them, with 8 restaurants currently open around Melbourne. Sushi and sashimi platter
Such a good all you can eat restaurant. Very good value for money. The staff here are so polite, friendly and attentive. Food was flying out of the kitchen to all of the tables. Highly recommended!
When you want Japanese but don't want to completely empty your wallet haha. This place has some decent Japanese food, all your classics such as kaarage, tempura, gyoza etc. The sushi/ sashimi is actually really good, fresh and presented well!
To top this off it's all you can eat for $30!!
Good little place in Brunswick. Came for the japanese all-you-can-eat on a saturday night. Staff were very accomodating for the big group I came with.
There's a range of ~35 dishes. You're limited to these but theres quite a lot from sashimi to chicken katsus to ice cream - you need order from a specific menu for the all you can eat. Portion sizes are a bit on the small size, so make sure you order a lot if you're especially hungry. Don't over order though because if you can't finish they'll throw it onto your bill which already 30 p.p.
The place had a good feel. The food came reasonably as it was a full house (you will typically need to book on friday and weekends). Food quality was decent, not expensive ingredients but good for a fill. The sauces they served with the meats were yum.
Food was delicious & fresh. Good price for what you pay. Friendly staff. Great atmosphere. Only down fall is finding a carpark, but it is very very close to tram & train station.
Great value all you can eat Japanese for around $30. We went to the 5pm sitting and service was polite and attentive but unobtrusive. Food came out quickly and was decent quality. They adjust the servings based on how many people are on your table, so we ordered multiples of certain dishes. Standout dishes were the beef carpaccio, teriyaki steak and the sashimi. Finished off with some matcha and black sesame icecream - YUM!
I live just down the road and notice that this place is always busy. The all you can eat deal is great and worth it if you're hungry. We were impressed by the food, the restaurant is nice and clean, and the service was spot on. The food came out quickly, so quickly that there we ran out of room on the table. We had a group of 9 people, everyone was happy and satisfied by the end. Definitely will be returning, good to go with a bigger group although tables are a bit small. The tea is served in individual tea pots which are $3 per person, cute but not ergonomically friendly.

A fantastic place for all you can eat Japanese food. Surprisingly the quality of the food is very high given that it is all you can eat.
For around $40pp you get a good feed and have a variety of options to choose from.
The beef tataki is probably one of my favourite dishes.
It is a fantastic place as it has options for everyone and is also kid friendly.
The brunswick restaurant is also a lot larger than some of the other restaurants making it really easy for large groups to go.
service can be hit and miss, really hard to get in contact to make a booking outside business hours and Friday Saturday nights they tend to be booked out
food good but sometimes thing take ages to arrive
we also feel the desserts could be better
but we go once a fortnight and have been with large groups
Came here last night for a birthday based on the recommendation of a family friend. Was not disappointed. 29$ per head for all you can eat chosen by your preferred dishes with attentive service. Delicious sharing platters and well worth the money, very tasty sashimi will definitely be returning.
Went here for my sons birthday. The food was really tasty. We will definitely be back. Out of all the outlets this is the best one to go to.
Had to try after quite a few recommendations from family, and was definitely pleased with the quality of food! With all you can eat for $29 you can't go wrong! Would definetly recommend ordering quite a few meals at once as it does get quite busy especially during dinner sittings.
I have never really tried unlimited Japanese but we thought we would give it a go and see what happens. Turns out this place is amazing and for $29.80 per person you get a decent amount of food. Amazing hospitality as well. Always made sure you're table is checked.
Loved it!! The range of food at this restaurant is ample and the quality is exceptional. We opted for the 'All you can eat' and boy did we get our money's worth. Sushi after sushi, sashimi after sashimi we were stuffed. We ordered other warm dishes and they were extremely tasty also.
Definitely will be returning
Pro: cheap and tasty
Con: gets busy during dinner, do make sure to order a few dishes at a time
I really enjoyed my meal here! All you can eat was amazing value, great quality food! Serving sizes were small, but as is all Japanese. And with all you can eat why does it matter! Staff were friendly, and would consistently come over and check if we wanted to order more. Food was reasonably quick, we were very rarely left with nothing to eat on our table! I enjoyed every dish, fresh sushi and good quality ingredients. Too busy eating to take many photos! But would 100% return!
Terrific! Food was great, as was the service. Bit more noisy than other Japanese restaurants, but the food and value for money well worth it! Will definitely be going back. Everything was delicious and fresh. All you can eat is a winner.
Great service and food! My friends and I had a great time coming here at 6:30 on a Sunday. Food arrived fresh, quickly and all within a short time of each other. Everything was delicious! Would definitely recommend!
Came at 5.45 and was greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant lay out is spacious and very clean- also modern Japanese style. Location is easy to find and free parking available around it as well. Got the veggie gyozas, they were plain. The wakame seaweed salad was very large in portion and tasted very fresh. The cold soba was different, it had a peculiar taste to it - almost like mustard but it was interesting to try it. The veggie udon noodles were flavoursome. The vanilla and green tea icecream were refreshing. The veggie tempura had a really long wait, it was served after dessert...besides that service wasn't too slow or fast as it got really busy - it was a full house by 6.30. Definitely coming back
We went with a large (60-odd) group for a friend's birthday and was well and truly astonished at the great food, efficient service and beautiful and helpful staff. I can not wait to take more people here and share the greatness
The food is freshly made and beyond fantastic - so many vegetarian options to choose from and no one left unsatisfied!
Can not recommend enough!!
Okami is a great find for when your craving Japanese food. Not only is the $30 all you can eat extremely well priced but the food is amazing and they do not skimp on garnishing any dishes. Staff were friendly and atmosphere was good. I will certainly be back!
