Roast pork pho is elite. Staff are lovely. They're now open for take away only serving customers through a front window and taking appropriate precautions during the pandemic. Support this vital local business if you can. If Truong's died a part of me would die.

Vietnamese Rolls are the go to food item here and they do them very well.Be prepared to wait a while when they are at lunch time busy peak but it's worth it to get one of their deliciously addictive Banh Mi.
Omg the crispy pork Vietnamese rolls are just amazing!!! They are jam packed with good quality fillings and still keep them so reasonably priced. I also love the rice paper rolls and the chicken vermicelli salad - made with chicken breast. I know they have tried to resist a price range but their beautiful note at the store, really showed how much they care about their customers and providing food at a reasonable price. waiting in the line on a weekend is well worth the wait!
Love stopping by on my lunch break for a cripsy pork roll and some home made dim sims! Also a favourite of mine would be the bbq chicken roll!
We’ve been here a lot of times and tried some of the rolls, but we love the marinated chicken breast roll the best. It comes with a lot of chicken and tastes great! The springs rolls and prawn rice paper rolls are also our staple. The smoothies are also good to quench our thirst. We wish it were open on Sundays!
Fresh bread - soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside, slightly marinated warm tofu, fresh vegetables and packed well, could do with a little more flavour but overall satisfying.
Came pass this little place, with a line out the door and thought we should give it a go. From the outside, the shop looks like a fish and chips joint but the food is where the soul is. We ordered a couple of crispy pork rolls and a beef pho. The roll was a generous serving of crispy crunchy roast pork on freshly baked baguettes loaded with salads and chillies. Real yum. We also ordered the beef pho, but I found the soup on the sweet side (I prefer a more savoury take on pho). I would definitely be back just for the rolls. Great little cheap eat and a great burger alternative.
Finally tried this place today after it being on my radar for ages. Was absolutely heaving with a line out the door when we arrived. Ordered the crispy pork, shredded chicken, meat ball and a couple of rice paper rolls for take away. The quality of the meat is great, with no yucky grisly bits found in any of the rolls, the bread was crispy but not too hard, however I would have liked more seasoning and sauce for my taste as overall they weren’t hugely flavoursome.
Ordered takeaway here, crispy pork roll, the combination spring rolls and special beef pho.
The service is very good and friendly, the crispy pork roll was excellent value and tasted pretty good, enough pork and crackling and chilli. The spring rolls were good but have had better, but still good cake and enjoyed eating them. The beef pho was tasty and beef tender and fresh, noodles were cooked well and not mushy, also this is very good bake and taste. A good. Value and quality operation here.

This Vietnamese baguette place is so generous in their portion for every single dish. They specialise in crispy pork rolls which I think is quite delicious. I have also tried their Beef noodle soup, rice vermicelli and rice paper rolls which were are quite nice and big. You'll always finish the food with a full stomach and a full pocket because the price is so cheap.
Place itself is very underwhelming but their crispy pork roll more than makes up for it. It's one of the best I've had! Great value for money too!
I tried this place a few months ago while i was passing by the area. They had an offer of 2 rolls for $10 at that time, so a friend and I decided to try the crispy pork roll. I thought it was really tasty and enjoyed it. But I still prefer Nhu Lan's banh mi.
We tried the crispy pork roll.. 2 for $11 which was decently priced. They heat the rolls up before serving which is good and the pork was juicy but overall lacked flavour
The bahmi rolls are amazing. Crispy and soft at the same time.. the crispy pork is delicious!! The shop it's self is nothing fancy but they know how to do great Vietnamese food🔥
The roast pork rolls are delish! We love to walk down here on a weekend - the service and food are always consistent. The Vietnamese ice coffee is great, but I have also tried some of their smoothies which were very tasty.

I had the stir fried beef on rice with delicate sprigs of coriander. Nicely balanced flavours, and plenty of it.
The dim sims were understated in their description. Also delicate and tasty without that sharp porky tang that can spoil other high-end dim sims (South Melbourne dim sims come to mind). And filling too. They came in a set of three, but I could only manage two. Pity - they were delicious.
It's a popular place from what I saw. People eating, inside and out on the footpath tables. Two or three people waiting for takeaway orders, like me. But they didn't take long, and it was worth it.
Parking is a moderate challenge, with lots of limited parking around the nearby school. But hey, I can always do with the exercise.
Fantastic rolls, the pork roll is superb. The tofu roll is perhaps lacking a really hearty sauce to tie it together, but is still quite nice though a little on the lighter side for my taste. Excellent milk shakes, as well!!! They do a very serviceable Pho as well.
Imagine catering order for my birthday. Foods are so fresh, tasty, ....Decorative form carrots and vegetables are so nice n' look delicious. All my friends are love them. Highly recommended !
A tasty Banh Mi is the item I recommend most. The Pho is outstanding, however the roast pork Banh Mi is the best - the best I've had in Australia. Fantastic! Prompt and efficient service from the cheerful staff
Crispy skin pork roll is indeed crispy!
Generously filled i.e. stuff to the brim and spilling out on my plate with succulent crispy skin pork. Comes with fresh salad and a fresh roll warmed in the toaster oven.
Vietnamese coffee is of the drip variety, served with a tall, ice-filled glass. Some assembly required.
Excellent value lunching for not much more than a tenner.

Former Footscray's resident here. I had Vietnamese bread rolls from every single existing venue in the West so it was time to try it out here at Mister Truong. I have ordered a crispy roasted pork roll and it was $5.00, I was quite impressed with the taste, texture and quality of its ingredients. It did lack a bit of sauces, it felt a bit customed for a different demographic, which it is smart. Only flaw was the speed, the wait was quite long considering how fast other joints are, but again: great roll and I will be back. Thanks for having me 🙂🙂🙂
Best value Vietnamese in the area! Pork rolls are divine. Unfortunately they don't open late but worth the rush to get there after work. They do run out of rolls so get in early. Friendly staff always with a smile.
Mister Truong's is great what they do they do awesome for an great price! Their Crispy pork roll and kopi ice is hard to pass up. So quick too.

We came for a dinner on Monday around 6pm. First impression, honestly the place doesn't really look convincing from the outside (if we hadn't check out Zomato, we probably will give this place a miss...) BUT Mister Truong surely knows his food really well. We ordered Prawn spring rolls (with REAL prawn inside) served with a REAL sweet chilli sauce (not the watery ones) Mister Truong's tofu rolls and Beef Pho for below $20 to feed 2 hungry tummies! ALL YUMMY.... seriously YUMMY! WE WILL go back for more! ^_____________^

I visit here quite frequently for lunch or breakfast, i always have beef pho or pork bun, i tried other menu but it was not good but beef pho and crispy pork bun are really tasty!
Great local spot for your banh mi fix. The roast pork was moist and crispy, sauced with chilli and mild hoi sin for that touch of sweetness. Decent size for $6 with friendly service offering both indoor and outdoor seating. The pickled shredded carrot could do with greater acidity, but nice value overall.
I love Mister Truongs. Even more so that it's local. The pork rolls are delicious. One bite and all my senses come alive. I have also tried the chicken rolls and egg rolls. I cannot fault them. Fresh ingredients, generous servings of your chosen meat or non meat in each roll and the smell is incredible.
They also serve other meals on their menu. The pho is flavoursome. The steamed dumplings are perfect.
Highly recommended if you have never been. Only go once. So selfishly I don't miss out. 😆
I have had many a pork roll from Mr Truongs, and they are delicious. The pork has the crispy pork crackling which is what completes the roll. The only thing that I don't like is the coriander and that is only because I hate coriander, however you can request to not have certain things on the roll that you may not like.

Apparently this is my top picked banh mi vietnam in town. The rolls are also crunchy outside and fluffy inside. The crispy pork is really amazing abd exquisite. Staff are very friendly. This place is always found packed but who cares, its worth the wait. Thanks for the amazing pork rolls. XOXO
One word: joy. This place is a delight. Try the vermicelli salad with pork. I find it very difficult to find an excuse not to eat it!! And the Vietnamese coffee is a must. I don't even drink coffee with sugar, but with condensed milk it's something else entirely. Many meals here and never a bad one.

Such amazing value (everything is under $9) and the beef noodle soup and roast pork belly rolls are insanely good. I go here all the time and the food is always great and super fast to come. plus the staff are really friendly. Oh and the vietnamese ice coffee is amazing!
My rating is based purely on the crispy pork banh mi which is delicious, fresh ingredients, fresh bread and typically quite generous with pork. Would be a 5 if the banh mi had a pate spread for added taste and if the spring onion and coriander was diced instead of long whole pieces. Still absolutely delicious!

I've been a regular at Nhu Lan in Footscray over the past few years, eating hundreds of what I've always considered to be the best traditional banh mi in Melbourne. However 6 months or so ago i stumbled upon this little gem and its crispy roast pork banh mi and now consider this the best around. It's not just the pork, which is magnificent, that makes this banh mi great, it's also the perfect bread roll and the excellent fresh salad. I tried their pho once and it was ok - not spectacular but a decent feed. Every other time I've had the same banh mi and I'll be going back for many more.

Love this place. Have tried the crispy roast pork roll, beef vermicelli, stir fried beef vermicelli, and pho. So far, winner is the crispy roast pork roll.
The only downside is that the food is inconsistent. I can say that I go there very frequent and I have got amazing food to not-so-good food. Depends on who is the chef at that time. I wish they can make it consistent so that we are not disappointed once we open the food at home like I did one time. Ordered beef and got chicken. Oh dear!
Mister Truong doesn't look incredibly appealing from outside, but after your first bite of one crispy pork roll, you are going to change your mind.
The roll I had was amazing, and a bargain for 6 dollars. You can even have 2 for 10.

Quiet little place on Melville that serves some of the finest Pho in Melbourne, if not the finest. It's close to home and that makes it even more special. This is one of those places that you don't want the whole world knowing about. Fantastic!
Pork rolls are the bomb, crunchy bread rolls with crackling and cheap, never been disappointed yet. Had a couple of the Pho's here too and they're not too shaby either, the only possible negative is that you have to wait sometimes when busy :-{ ah well can't have everything:-}

Mar 2016 - Mister Truong's you've done it again! I live in Perth, just came back for a visit & had to have a crispy roast pork roll for lunch. Sooo good...looks like the rest of Melbourne has cottoned on to this place though as there was a line of people waiting today!
Sensational. The only downside is you have to queue for the food......why? Because it is sensational. 2 crispy pork rolls $10. Do yourself a favour and order great rolls.
What everybody else says. Delicious, fresh, simple, authentic, and cheap. And for me, only 5 minutes walk from home :) just lucky, I guess!!

Best Vietnamese in Brunswick!. Super fresh Vietnamese food and so cheap! The guy is really friendly and accommodating and if all the people who complained on here had the courage to tell the owner they weren't happy with their meal I am sure he would rectify it.

Fresh, crispy, crunchy goodness!. My husband and I live a walk away from this little gem and my best advice to all you U-spooners would be to never bother making your own lunch again. Hubby always has a meaty option (crispy pork or roast chicken roll) teamed with a couple of their delectable dimmies and because I'm a vegetarian, I usually have a roll stuffed with cheese, goodies from the garden and a Vietnamese omelette, all warmed through with a crunchy crust.
This place is beyond cheap and it deserves 5 stars for the yummy, quick feed it is.

Ohhh my god!!!. Temporary local to West Brunswick, house sitting for a family member. I tried out the food at Mr Truongs when I first moved in and I've been going there twice a week ever since. Doesn't help he's a few doors down, but a blessing too cos the pork roll is amazing, and the value equally as good! I'm moving to the area permanently so I can be within reach of a pork roll!
A surprising find. Mr Truong is unexpected. The quality, taste and authenticity was understated. Lovely crispy pork rolls, shredded pork roll and rice paper rolls were fresh, simple and cheap. Great value for money and adds character to the neighbourhood.
