Review Kevabs - Brunswick

I haven't had a meat kebab in so long and was so impressed by the taste. The meat isn't your typical shredded beef of course but well seasoned and filling. It is a bit squishy but I personally didn't mind. Portion size were huge and I enjoyed the vegan cheese. Sometimes vegan cheese is gross and plastic-y in texture but this was tasty and melted pretty well. Wish I lived closer so I could have it more. The Portuguese tarts were amazing too. I've found most vegan custard analogues pretty disgusting but I demolished this in 1 second. Owner there was friendly and happy to have a chat about the food. Also warmed my heart to see her offer a homeless person outside dinner. A true rarity these days.

Kevab was okay - very, very salty. The size of the dry, tasteless "donut" was almost comical. $4.50 for a mouthful of dry dough. Much better options for quality food nearby

Can’t say enough good things about Kevabs! Food is good quality and super yummy, the portions are huge, and great value. My go to is a Kevab and chips— $20 and usually enough for two meals. The staff are beyond lovely and always greet you with a warm smile:) Pro tip— add pickles into your Kevab :)

Visited here with my vegan partner on 15/4/22 & after reading the great reviews on here, we were both really looking forward to it. Unfortunately the actual Kevab was disappointing- lacked flavour and seasoning (salt) - also too much of it in the kevab. The falafel was spot on as were the chips with gravy - you wouldn’t know it was vegan - YUM!!! Would probably eat here again but steer clear of the kevab. Service was spot on also…. Reasonably priced.

Really delicious food. Takeaway was a potpourri of the best of the best. So yum, indeed. Plus some jam donuts to seal the meal.

If your ever in Brunswick go eat at Kevabs Brunswick Falafel popcorn was Yunmo & the Spinach and ricotta on flatbread was just beautiful with lemon, Amazing turkish baklava hands down the best I've ever had A1 quality Great service with a smile Really tasty food!! Thanks guys!!

Having always been on the list of places to visit, Kevabs really loved up to it's hype. Totally reasonable prices for all the food here, although not having a huge variety of foods, it is perfect for what a typical "kebab" shop would offer. The Kevab did lack sauce but we should have just asked for more! With an all vegan menu, very friendly staff and awesome tasting food, my partner and myself will definitely come back!

I’m obsessed with this place. There are a few shops offering mock meat kebabs now, but Kevabs’ homemade meat is much more wholesome. They also offer vegan boreks, gozlemes, salads and so many great sweets. Prices are decent and service is fast and friendly. Vegan or not, check this place out.

Great vegan kebab, $13. The protein patty is very tasty, over all very satisfying kebab. <br/><br/>Chips $5. Boreks and other small items available. Wide range of salads.<br/><br/>Baklava, $4.5, was delicious. <br/><br/>Small amount of seating available on a communal table.

Angie and her staff are an absolute delight. Warm, generous with some of the tastiest vegan options to boot. You can feel the love in her food and she is just such a lovely lady. I always feel welcome and the food is amazing. I am a meat eater but I will gladly eat Kevabs. The Kevabs are so delicious and the salads are fresh and made with such care. She rotates her selection every day and makes it with the best produce. Yum yum yum !

On Saturday we took the kids for a quick lunch. The salads are great, the kevab was delicious. I was not as excited by the HSP but not bad.  Service was pleasant and will definitely come again. Good value.

It would be immoral of me not to shout from the rooftops how incredible the food is here. Highly recommend the HSP and baklava.<br/><br/>They selection of imported soft drinks are a must try as well!

The staff here are so lovely and kind, and the food is incredible! Tastes just like the kebabs I would eat before I stopped eating meat. I don't know how you guys do it but I'm loving it and I'm going to keep coming back for more :) also thank the heavens for your gluten free options! Never stop the gluten free options, my partner is celiac and it is so appreciated :)

Had the “lamb” kevab which was tops, plus some great chips. Staff very friendly and welcoming. There was a variety of salads and dolmades plus sweet stuff as well. Nice decor too. Can’t wait to go back.

We need more places like this! Incredibly lovely staff, warm friendly easygoing atmosphere, clearly care about their customers and the food is i n c r e d i b l e. The best vegan food I've tried in months and some of the best Turkish food I've had in all of Melbourne. A must. This place is all time, I already can't wait to go back and I've been twice this week already.

Super lovely little place with the sweetest owners! They were really friendly and kind and even let us try one of their Turkish delights for free. <br/>I am so excited by the concept of this place! <br/>I personally feel the kebab meat could be improved, it was very mooshy. The rose petals on the Turkish delight although beautiful were impractical to eat as they were very dry. <br/>However we still enjoyed our meal and I’d return if near by in the future :)

Even as a meat eater, I thoroughly enjoyed the kevab! I will definitely be back for more and with friends. Great idea if you like trying new things and surprising friends.<br/>Highly recommend.

Outstanding service and food. My new to go place for total quality and taste. Veggie lovers will be amazed with the non meat kebab. Taste like the real thing and even better. Salads and desert was home made quality.

Everything from the salads, to the desserts, to the Kevabs themselves is absolutely delicious. If I had not known the kevab meat was vegan, I honestly would not have noticed or bothered to think about it. No matter what kind of diet or eating belief you subscribe to, tasty food is tasty food.. and this place has no shortage of that. The staff are super friendly too, and it is located in a great spot directly opposite Barkley Square. This will be a regular visit for sure!

I love KEVABS!! It's quickly become my weekly staple, dinner and salad order for lunch the next day. The salads are delicious with great flavour combinations and the Kevabs are great! This is one of my favourite places to go in Brunswick for a quick, healthy lunch! Their house made vegan kebab is so so tasty, and they always have a great selection of salads!! Everything is super reasonably priced, the owners are friendly and lovely, and the food is amazing!! Highly recommend!!

The gorgeous owner and staff are so welcoming and friendly in this one of a kind authentic Turkish vegan cafe. The food is so delicious and delights your taste buds. The price are very reasonable and you’ll want to return time and time again.

Love this place. The food is amazing. I recommend Kevabs to anyone (vegans, vegetarians and meat eaters) who places the importance of conscious eating, feeding your body with fresh, healthy, yummy food prepared with creativity and passion. The whole concept is innovative and the only one of its kind. From Turkish inspired Doner Kevab that is free from meat, soy, dairy, wheat, gluten, sugar, lactose, eggs, nuts, and additives to all the other dishes and their desserts are unique, full of flavour and nourishment. Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in town.

Honestly something us vegans have needed for so long! An amazing quality kebab that isn't just falafel. I love the "meat" so much, it's even delicious on top of their salads that they make in store daily. I'm obsessed with their dessert selection too. They use so many whole ingredients and no additives that I never feel guilty wanting to eat everything in store! There's something for everyone, and best of all - it's all cruelty free and SO DELICIOUS!

There is nothing to fault about this place. I love that it’s opened in my hood. The interior is cute with a beautiful painted wall, the staff are always so helpful, friendly and service with a smile. The food - everything is delicious and full of flavour. I don’t know how they make the kevab meat but even big meat eaters would love it! The salads are also made fresh and are delicious plus the sweets!! Yep everything is amazing. Now I’m craving it!

If you like good quality, healthy eating.. this is it! Fresh, delicious and full of goodness. I don’t care if you are vegan, vegetarian or love you steak the KEVAB is amazing! Something here for everyone

Everything I've tried here is absolutely AMAZING. It's my new favourite place. Amazing flavours and lovely people and decor. Will definitely return. The only complaint I have is that it's cash only. But they're only new so I don't expect them to have eftpos yet

Absolutely delicious. The kevab is insane and hit the spot and the borek was delicious. Sampled a few deserts and loved each and every single one paired back with the Turkish coffee. Would defiantly recommend and will be back as a regular

Absolutely delicious! They have their own unique recipe for kebab “meat” and it is sensational! Their kevabs are fresh and light, but also filling. Service is very friendly too
