Review Stay Gold - Brunswick

Cool live music venue. Cheap beers. Awesome staff. Only losing a star because they didn't have any hand soap or sanitiser in the bathrooms. And yeah, I know, it's a lull, but no soap? Come on, guys.

Amazing sound for live music, a small room with a quality PA system and quality technicians, also, great stage sound for bands! A great selection of craft beer on tap poured by lovely, friendly bar staff.

Went to a Best of Both Worlds event that started at 11pm. Was good for a couple of hours before they turned the music off and lights on at 1am. Two hours before the event was due to finish. They cleared everyone out and I asked the security if I could use the bathroom before leaving. Security was very rude and intimidating towards me and refused access to the bathrooms. I had such a good time at the last event but sadly due to this horrible experience I will not be returning to Stay Gold and will let others know not to as well. Bit of a joke for a $20 door charge.

I could forgive the expensive bar prices and would happily give more stars if they didn't employ the bouncers they had there on Friday and Saturday. Fosters a really bad environment and a place I don't want to be. Toilets were ok.

The staff here are amazing and the venue manger is the nicest person. Thank you for everything. ☺️ This place is actually the best! Five stars!

One of the best venues in Melbourne to catch a gig. It's quite an intimate setting without feeling squishy. The staff are always lovely and the blokes running the doors are always good for a laugh.

Such a pity about the security here, reminds me of the "bad old days" of the 90s when every time you wanted a night out you had to prepare for bullies and pyschos working on the door. The bar staff and everyone are awesome, the space is great, the PA and sound quality is fantastic, but I saw the bouncers doing one thing after another to ensure it wasn't a safe space. I even hasd to intervene when they started beating up a young man and got huret myself in the process and cut my night short to go hime since it ruined my mood and made me feel targeted and unsafe. Which is just as well, as according to people who stuck around after, there was a serious incident subsequently with the security bashing people. A real pity cos I loved this place, can't go back there anymore now unless they make customer safety a priority by hiring a new security firm and publically acknowledging what's happened and how they're going to fix it.

Every time I’ve been here the security have been very hostile, aggressive and violent. Management condone the state of affairs and aren’t interested in making their customers feel safe or heard. Very strange hostile entitled environment. Bar staff are chill but I won’t ever set foot in here again.
