Review Jerry's Burgers And Fried Chicken - Brunswick

Medium rate burger bar, small servings with fries suspiciously similar to Maccas chips next door. Not that keen on their Jerry's specialty sauce and had tomato sauce instead. Chicken had errors MSG taste.

Staff is nice but Burger and chips are very ordinary. Not enough sauce inside the Burger. I can also make this quality.

Similar to Betty's burgers, good vibe. I don't know why people complained about not enough sauce when there's a free sauce station with everything you need!

Possibly the best classic Americana burger in Melbourne. simple perfection. Meat NOT over cooked like so many here are. Bun not too big and bready like so many are here. With tomato, crunchy iceburg, onion and pickle and melted cheese. It pretty much melted in my mouth. Only complaint is that its about 2$ more than it should be.

I usually don't write reviews but I feel I should on this occasion. We waited about 30 mins for 2 fried chicken burgers and fries. When our food finally arrived it didn't have cheese which we paid extra for and after they had put the cheese on it was just a stone cold slab instead of a nice melt. We were thoroughly disappointed as I was excited to have a nice lunch and will be eating elsewhere.

Had the Bacon & Cheese burger. Nothing special. Burger had no flavour, lettuce was bland, basic mayonnaise. No real flavour in the first bite, was expecting my tastebuds to jump for joy. The shoestring fries were soggy and tasteless, no salt, no seasoning. Tasted like $2 frozen fries from Coles and served in a take away coffee cup. Definitely not worth my money. If I'm to ever come back I'd expect a burger that'll make my mouth water.

Never in my life have I had to eat a burger with a knife and fork due to it disintegrating in my hand from the amount of oil and grease. I fully expect that the entire burger and fries were submerged in oil throughout the 25 minutes it took for the food to arrive. Best spend your $15 elsewhere.

I usually dont get fried chicken burgers but when i do they suprise me. This one didn't.... fries were average and the house beer was a carlton draught. Im not saying I'd never dine here again but theres so much competition in the area that i dont know what would draw me back, posdibly to try the beef burger. I will note that staff were friendly and service was prompt. Up the flavor and adjust the prices and this place will pick up, it already has a cool vibe with the set up and killer tunes.

I didn’t check the reviews until after we had ordered, but I’m happy to report that it didn’t make a difference. I had a chicken burger and shared some popcorn chicken, and both were fully cooked, and still moist. The food and atmosphere was nice overall. The service was a bit slow, and they were out of both onion rings and iced tea; which was disappointing.

K: Wanted a juicy burger fix whilst at work and this place seemed to provide that. Ordered the Cheesy Jerry with a beef patty, cheese and your usual vegies. It tastes like a premium whopper from Hungry Jack's to be frank. It was juicy however left me feeling the same as if I had just went to Hungry Jack's. Ambience was very good and service could have been better if they had more staff. A mediocre burger experience at best.

Food: 3/5
Ambience: 4/5
Service: 3/5

Overall: 3/5

Jerry's has got a great burger. I work nearby so I frequent here quite a bit. I always leave a happy customer which is good. The only problem I face, is the wait for the burger is always quite a while. But as I said, great burger

Used to come here a fair bit when i worked in brunswick.burgers are super tasty. My favorite is the jerry with cheese, cos i've always been a guy that loves cheesy burgers. And can i say it doesnt disappoint! basically everything i want in a burger.the staff are really friendly, which makes all the difference!

The burger was really good . I basically inhaled. But the chicken was still raw. It was quite pink . I didn't eat . Plus they didn't have union rings🙄

Hmm very average.. Ordered from Uber eats coz feeling lazy and thought to give another place a chance from usual B East.. Fried chicken was tough in both burger and pop corn style but flavour was nice. Burger slaw was massive chunks of cabbages rather than thinly sliced pieces which was messy during the eating of the burger.. ?? Fries are average, literally McDonald's fries.. ? Also chicken batter is super close to KFC flavour.. So end of day... Go to McDonald's or KFC if your considering ordering from Jerry's Burger. Wouldn't eat here again ✌🏼️

Should have read the reviews before ordering via uber eats. Food arrived cold despite being 10 mins away - chicken was raw - never eating from here again

The restaurant is super casual like a fast food joint so I don't usually eat in but the fried chicken burger is amazing and I highly recommend

Served raw chicken and was told by staff that it was cooked even though see and smell the rawness of the chicken. Avoid. Very unhappy with the service as well
Marcus
Ordered a 3 piece basket and all pieces were raw in the middle. Wish I had read reviews before going as this seems to happen all the time. Honestly Jerry's won't be happy til they kill someone! Told kitchen staff who weren't even apologetic. Avoid at all costs.
Kevin Sim
Was told this is how they serve their chicken after I told them it was raw! please see the photo attached and tell me thats fully cooked through

Tasted like a crappy McDonald's burger only 3x the price. No impressed. The cheese is over processed and the bun was thin and sweet. The patty was nothing special and was about as thin as a McDonald's patty. Not good food

Ordered 5 pcs chicken with chips and drink through uber eats.
I've worked in fried chicken shop before so in 5 pcs of chicken you get three big pcs of chicken and two small pretty much half of chicken. I had two wings and two drums plus a thigh chips were soggy and there was no drink when driver arrived. Except thigh non of the other pcs were crispy and chicken wings and drums were undercooked I couldn't eat it. This was my first and last time at jerry's.

We were eager to try another fried chicken joint here in Brunswick and ordered some combos. Upon receiving our order we were quite surprised at the small portions and also the cold fries. When we thought of others in the area we were left short here. A lot of promise, but not a lot of chicken.

Absolutely terrible service, we waited more than an hour and half for 3 cheeseburgers and fries. We were not updated on the status of our food nor were we greeted with a friendly attitude when politely asking for an update. It felt like they were all angry that we were even there ordering food. I will not eat here again and I will tell me friends to not eat here too. The staff should be embarrassed.

Terrible service. We ordered a substantial amount of food from here via Uber eats. It was New Year's Day, so we knew they would be busy. But we were not expecting a two hour wait, no communication, the app kept pushing the time back and back and back... their phone number was disconnected. If you're that busy, turn Uber eats off. It's simple. Or, tell us it will be two hours and we will then made a choice. In the end we cancelled our order and we will never be trying them again simply because of the terrible communication.

Not to be confused with the awful Jerry's Burgers and Shakes in Kensington, Jerry's in Barkley Square provides hungry shoppers with American Style Burgers in brioche buns and KFC style fried chicken.

In the Spring of 2016 I was looking for a mushroom burger close to Sydney rd as I had been out all night and emerged from a daytime slumber at 4.30pm. I was googling mushroom burgers and I walked past Jerry's Burgers, noticing their vege burger: crumbed mushroom; tomato; feta; lettuce; red onion and; chutney.

I ordered the Burger and took it home in my trusty Toyota corolla. After turning on Nazi Megastructures I took the Burger and fries out of the brown unbranded paper bag and sat it on the coffee table with my diet Coke.

The fries were a saltier version of McDonalds fries; thinly cut and soggy. Delicious if that's the way you like your fries.
You must have to pay extra for a dipping sauce.

The actual mushroom burger was good but personally the chutney ruined it for me. I just want an aioli or some smokey bbq sauce on my mushroom Burger. The portobello mushroom inside was crafted really well, with a crispy seasoned crumb. However I felt a little misled when it came to the cheese. The menu on the shop wall didn't stipulate the type of cheese that was going to be in the vegetarian burger so I assumed it was going to be the delicious orange American Cheddar I love so much. Unfortunately for me the cheese was Fetta. Not my personal favorite type of cheese to eat on a mushroom Burger, or on anything.

Overall I think it's great Jerry's has a mushroom burger and I think a lot of people would like the Fetta and chutney. However I prefer the classic American condiments with mine; the mushroom Burger at The Burger Project, 8bit or LeBonTon would've been better for me.
Burgers were fabulous, and the fried chicken was amazing, as you would hope with both items in their name! Chips were great instore, crispy and flavoursome. Takeaway they were awful, undercooked, no salt and soggy. Moral of the story? Take the time to go in rather than ordering for delivery! A great place for a really good burger at a decent price, plus amazingly friendly staff!

Found this place while trying to find a burger place in the area that I hadnt tried. I ordered the Fried Chicken Burger. My only criticism is it was a little bit small, but besdies that the quality and flavours were awesome. I had to try the chicken too which was also really tasty. Overall a very good experience, I'll be back.

A solo adventure this time around sees one half of Team Cheeseburger head to Jerry’s Burgers & Fried Chicken in Brunswick. Located in Barkly Square, you could be forgiven for walking straight past this place given its proximity to the evil clown and his band of generic food court degenerates. A decision that you would later regret if my recent experience is anything to go by…

Had a fried chicken craving and Jerry's well and truly delivered.
Got a burger to compliment the chicken - cheesy as and a great option.
Try the Jerry's dipping sauce with your chicken, I don't know what's in it, but it's unusual and tasty.
Cheers Jerry.

Recently opened in the heart of Brunswick, Jerry's Burgers & Fried Chicken is as it sounds when it comes to it's mighty grilled/fried combination, ditching the traditional side of fried chips. The Burger with The Lot was the choice of the day along with 2 pieces of southern-style fried chicken, just like mama used to make. There's definitely potential to be had here however was more in the favour of the chicken rather than the burger.

Loved the veggie burger!! Wasn't expecting vegetarian options at a Fried Chicken place but was pleasantly surprised when I stopped in at Jerry's Burgers and Fried Chicken with a few friends. The meat-eaters loved the Fried Chicken!! Place is a hidden gem with occasional free (busker) music. The outdoor hanging lights add a nice touch for a cosy feed. Would definitely head back there! Docking 0.5 because I want more veggie burger options :)

Love it! Been here multiple times and consistently good. Don't let the empty room fool you, the burgers a banging! The Lot and the fried chicken with coleslaw are highlights. Get amongst it

Burgers are fantastic and fried chicken was to die for. I've yet to meet this fabled "Jerry" but whoever he is, hopes he keeps up the good work. Will be back and will bring the kids.

Absolutely loved the chicken and all the dipping sauces. I was also a massive fan of the onions rings - normally onions rings can be a bit of a hit and miss with placed but I loved these onions!

We visited as a group of 10+ friends and partners and we all agreed that this was the Best Fried Chicken we had in Melbourne. Good value for money (everyone was a bit shocked by the generous potion) and excellent service. I recommend this place to all.

I really like the burgers. I'd been earlier in the year and wasn't that impressed but thought I'd try it again. Really tasty American style burgers. If you've had In 'n' Out and liked it you should try Jerry's burgers.

Went there on a Thursday night and the place was pretty quiet but jesus was the Bacon & Cheeseburger good! Washed down with a beer and she went very well together!

I stopped here with a work college coincidentally named Jerry, now Jerry loves a good burger and was down for a good feed as was I. The food was fine, a really great place if you like eating food surrounded by hipsters talking about milk crates and vintage bicycles. If you twirl your mustache at the end then this is your jam.

Had the two piece chicken with fries and a bottle of water. Food took a while to arrive, even though there was no one else there. First thing I couldn't help noticing, was the sight of oil. Food was freshly made, and I was using a napkin to hold the chicken. It worked for a bit, then got soaked with oil really quickly. Chicken tasted good, texture was smooth. Not sure if I'll be back for a second visit; portions weren't big and fries did not impress.

I stopped in at Jerry's Burgers in Barklay Square for a dinner and some fries and were impressed by the hipster feel and the taste of my burger👍
I'm pretty sure this is a franchise and while I would never date a franchise it was small enough for me not to know about it yet.
The owner was working the floors himself and was super friendly and courteous.

You can get a burger anywhere in Melbourne but you come to Jerry's for it's unique fried chicken. The burgers look good but we ordered the chicken and it was like we had stepped back to Southern USA. Messy and not very healthy but good for your taste buds.

Best fried chicken I've had in Melb and probably since I was in New Orleans. Crisp coating and juicy succulent chicken with tasty golden fries and special sauces to match. A little gem hidden away in Barkly square, a must after a visit to the supermarket!

This old school dish brings the traditional "Burger with the lot" back to life. Patty made in house and cooked fresh to order, this burger has egg, Beetroot, Onions, Pineapple, Cheese, lettuce and Ketchup.
Grab hold and bite. Messy it might be, but once you've started you'll forget about the mess you've made and savor the taste!
Cucina Vita rating 4.5 out of 5
#livelovefood #burger #comfortfood
#cucinavita
NB: This review was not paid for or commisioned by the service provider.
